Abstract
The arc welding torch for welding or cutting (WIG or plasma torch, for example) has an electrode fixture in casing. In order to allocate electrode easily and reliably for current transmission between fixture and electrode, the casing has a truncated cone supporter, which is matched with fixture with corresponding contact and slide surfaces. Because electrode holder of the present invention remains on the taper bearing of housing by a longitudinal force opposite with the direction of torch-tip, so not only make the electrode holder can self-centering, and electrode can be adjusted automatically according to corresponding airflow state.In addition, between the housing of electrode holder and welding torch body or electrode holder, can also produce very wide contact-making surface, thereby guarantee on electrode, to realize good and reliable current delivery with very little transition resistance.Heat transfer from electrode holder to the welding torch body is limited also in addition, thereby has improved greatly the life-span of electrode holder, on WIG or plasma torch, can also improve the life-span of electrode itself.
