Description

Method and device for operating medical equipment and method for inviting operation of medical equipment
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of medical device control. In particular, the present application relates to a method, an apparatus for operating a medical device and a method of inviting operation of a medical device.
Background
There is currently an emerging market need to enable medical devices, particularly imaging systems, such as CT/MR/PET-CT/SPECT/ultrasound devices, etc., to be remotely controlled. However, direct network access from outside the network of the radiology department in which the medical devices are located (e.g., the public internet) towards the network of the medical devices (e.g., an internal intranet) would pose a serious risk to network security. And a common solution that is compatible with different medical devices is needed.
The current main solution consists in using software methods. For example, a specially defined protocol, VPN, is employed to mitigate network security risks associated with network access. This does not fully address cyber-security risks, and may also sacrifice device performance and user experience, and such solutions are highly dependent on support from the original medical device manufacturer to authorize certain communication ports and protocols, making it difficult to develop common solutions that are compatible with different medical devices.
