Description

System for compression-release in-cylinder engine braking
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of engine technology, and more particularly to a compression release in-cylinder engine braking system.
Background
In order to obtain better braking performance of the whole vehicle, except for a braking system on the whole vehicle, an engine is generally provided with a braking system such as exhaust braking, in-cylinder braking and the like, wherein the compression release type in-cylinder braking principle is as follows: at the end of the compression stroke in the cylinder, the compressed gas in the cylinder is released, thus creating resistance to engine crankshaft rotation during the compression stroke and the next power stroke.
The existing cylinder braking device for releasing compressed air by jacking an air valve is characterized in that a through hole is formed in one side (right above the air valve) of an exhaust valve bridge, an air valve cap is arranged in the through hole, when an engine brakes in a non-cylinder, an exhaust rocker arm normally acts on the air valve bridge, when the engine brakes in the cylinder, the exhaust rocker arm acts on the air valve bridge, and another cylinder braking rocker arm acts on the air valve cap to control the opening and closing of the corresponding air valve, so that the purpose of releasing the compressed air in the air cylinder is achieved. However, the existing valve cap and the brake rocker arm are in point contact when being in contact, and the defects are that the transverse acting force of the brake rocker arm is easy to transmit, and after the valve is subjected to the transverse acting force, faults such as eccentric wear, breakage and the like of a valve guide pipe are easy to occur.
The information disclosed in this background section is only for enhancement of understanding of the general background of the invention and should not be taken as an acknowledgement or any form of suggestion that this information forms the prior art already known to a person skilled in the art.

Throughout the specification and claims, unless explicitly stated otherwise, the word "comprise", or variations such as "comprises" or "comprising", will be understood to imply the inclusion of a stated element or component but not the exclusion of any other element or component.
FIG. 1 is a schematic front view of a system for compression-release in-cylinder braking an engine according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a schematic front view of a valve cap of a system for compression-release in-cylinder braking an engine according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a schematic top view of a valve cap of a system for compression-release in-cylinder braking an engine according to an embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 4 is a schematic sectional view at a-a in fig. 3.
As shown in fig. 1 to 4, a system for in-cylinder braking an engine by compression release according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises: valves, valve caps, and brake rockers. The valve cap includes: a lower half and an upper half. The lower half part is fixed above the air valve. The upper half part can be fixed above the lower half part in a multi-direction rotating manner. The brake rocker arm is fixed above the upper half part of the valve cap. When the brake rocker arm moves downwards, the brake rocker arm is contacted with the valve cap and moves the valve downwards, so that gas in the cylinder is discharged, and the engine is braked in the cylinder.
In one embodiment of the invention, the upper and lower portions of the valve cap are in spherical contact. The upper half part of the valve cap is provided with a through hole, and the through hole is used for allowing lubricating oil to enter a contact spherical surface between the upper half part and the lower half part.
In an embodiment of the invention, the through hole opens at the center of the upper half. The upper half part and the lower half part are both cylindrical structures. The diameter of the lower half is larger than the diameter of the upper half. The inside of the lower half portion is of a hollow structure, and the size of the hollow structure is matched with the size of the top structure of the air valve.
In practical application, the system for braking the engine in the compression release type cylinder comprises a valve cap, wherein the valve cap consists of an upper half part and a lower half part, the upper half part of the valve cap is directly contacted with a brake rocker arm to transmit the acting force of the brake rocker arm, the lower half part of the valve cap is contacted with a valve to transmit the stress of the upper half part of the valve cap to the valve, the upper half part is contacted with the lower half part through a spherical surface, and if the lower half part is fixed, the upper half part can rotate in multiple directions in a certain range. In order to make the two parts have good lubrication, a through hole is arranged in the middle of the upper half spherical surface of the valve cap, so that lubricating oil can enter the contact spherical surface between the two parts from the through hole. The valve cap is placed on the top of the valve stem (valve), when the brake rocker arm moves downwards, the rocker arm contacts with the valve cap and moves the valve downwards, so that the gas in the cylinder is discharged. The valve cap is used for transmitting the vertical pressing force of the brake rocker arm and reducing the transverse force applied to the valve.
In a word, the compression release type system for braking the engine in the cylinder has a simple and reasonable structure, can reduce the transverse acting force transmitted to the valve by the brake rocker arm, and reduces the risks of eccentric wear and fracture of the valve guide pipe.
