The invention discloses a method for preventing the discharge resistance temperature of a main motor speed regulating system of a wide and thick plate rolling mill from exceeding the standard, which relates to the technical field of steel production equipment, and when the discharge resistance temperature of a direct current bus exceeds 50 ℃, an early warning signal is displayed on an HMI picture of an operation console, and an acousto-optic alarm is matched; when the discharge resistance temperature of the direct current bus is higher than 75 ℃, temporarily forbidding the steel plate to enter the rolling mill, and when the discharge resistance temperature of the direct current bus is lower than 75 ℃, re-allowing the steel plate to enter the rolling mill; and temporarily forbidding the steel plate to enter the rolling mill when the discharge resistance temperature of the direct current bus exceeds 75 ℃ during even pass, and re-allowing the steel plate to enter the rolling mill when the discharge resistance temperature of the direct current bus is lower than 75 ℃. The effect is obvious, and the high-power AC-DC-AC speed regulation system for the main motor of the wide and thick plate rolling mill can be effectively protected.
