Detailed Description
Referring to fig. 1 to 3, one embodiment of an emergency protective helmet 1 according to the present invention will be described in detail.
The emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention comprises a base 10 which, once in position on the wearer, rests on the shoulders 3 of the wearer. The base 10 is, for example, two separate parts, located on either side of the wearer's head 2 on the wearer's shoulders 3. In a variant of embodiment, the base 10 comprises a connecting element between the two portions, which is positioned behind the neck of the wearer when the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention is in place. As shown in fig. 1 and 2, each portion of the base 10 is triangular in side view.
On the other hand, the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention comprises a neck encircling arrangement support 20, which is movably mounted on the base 10 by means of an adjustment device for adjusting the position 40, 41, 42 of the neck encircling arrangement support 20 relative to said base 10. The neck encircling support 20 comprises a quick fastening buckle 21 at the front and a deployment space 22 at the rear, which falls behind the shoulders 3 and neck of the wearer. In the side views shown in fig. 1 and 2, this gives the overall bean shape.
The adjustment means of the positions 40, 41, 42 here comprise a longitudinal groove 40 provided in a part of the base 10. The longitudinal groove 40 is oriented to extend substantially in a direction from the shoulders 3 to the head 2 of the wearer. This direction is substantially vertical. Further, the position adjusting means includes a pin 41 mounted on the neck surrounding arrangement bracket 20. The pins 41 are intended to slidingly cooperate with their associated longitudinal grooves 40 to enable a mounting which is translationally movable between the neck encircling arrangement support 20 and the base 10 and to allow adjustment of the position 42 of the neck encircling arrangement support 20 relative to the base 10. A locking means for the position 42 is provided. This allows adapting the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention to the morphology of the wearer.
The emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention further comprises a series of curved elements 31, 32, 33, 34. The bending elements 31, 32, 33, 34, here four, are mounted so as to be movable in rotation with the neck encircling arrangement support 20 and at their ends 35 in rotation relative to each other. The rotation is about axis 30. This allows all the curved elements 31, 32, 33, 34 to be transferred from the functional first unfolded position shown in fig. 2 to the non-functional second folded position shown in fig. 1. In the non-functional second folded position, all bending elements are received in the arrangement space 22 of the neck surrounding the arrangement stent 20: they are thus accommodated in the neck encircling arrangement holder 20. In the functional first deployed position, all the curved elements 31, 32, 33, 34 are deployed around the wearer's head 2, forming a protective structure around the wearer's skull. A set of flexible tubes 50 connects the bending elements 31, 32, 33, 34 of all the bending elements to each other. On the other hand, the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention comprises a flexible fabric 36, which also connects the curved elements 31, 32, 33, 34 to each other. The bending elements 31, 32, 33, 34 are here rigid arches.
In addition, the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention comprises two airbags on both sides of the wearer's shoulders 3, said airbags being located in the neck encircling arrangement support 20. In describing the operation of the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the present invention, the function of its airbag will be described in more detail below.
In addition, the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention comprises a chamber 70 for compressed gas, for example air. A gas cartridge 70 is fluidly connected to the set of flexible tubes 50 and to the two airbags. The control and steering unit 60 integrated in the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention steers the gas cabin 70. For this purpose, the control and operating unit 60 comprises sensors, in particular a speed sensor and a position/angle sensor. The main function of the control and steering unit 60 is to trigger the injection of the compressed gas contained in said gas cartridge 70 according to the information sent by the sensors. On the other hand, the control and steering unit 60 includes a power supply battery. In order to be able to automatically equip the control unit 60 when the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention is in place, the quick fixing buckle 21 comprises a switch forming device. The switch forming means are contacts made, for example, by mechanical or magnetic switches. Such switch forming means function as a presence/position sensor on the wearer of the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention.
With reference to fig. 4, the operation of the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention, described immediately above, will be briefly described. A wearer wears the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the present invention around his neck, with the base 10 supported on the wearer's shoulders 3. The wearer then adjusts the position 42 of the neck encircling arrangement support 20 in height relative to the base 10 by means of the adjustment means of the positions 40, 41, 42. Before or after this position adjustment, the wearer of the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention closes the quick fastening 21 at the front. From then on, the switch forming means send a signal to the control and steering unit 60 that the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention is in place around the neck of the wearer. The control and steering unit 60 then starts an authentication procedure 110 to authenticate all the elements of the emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention connected thereto. If the verification program does not detect any anomaly or problem, the control and steering unit 60 enters the "armed" mode 120, confirmed by issuing an audible and/or visual signal. Once equipped, the control and steering unit 60 analyzes 130 the information transmitted by the sensor group, for example the information from the speed sensor 160 and the information from the position/angle sensor 170. From the information received, the triggering 140 of the gas cartridge 70 is activated by the control and steering unit 60 if a sudden change in the information sent by the position/angle and/or speed sensor is detected, indicating a fall or impact. Once the gas cartridge 70 is activated, both airbags are deployed, moving the neck vertically upwards around the deployment frame 20, and then all the flexible tubes 50 are deployed in sequence. The emergency protective helmet 1 according to the invention is then transferred 150 into its functional extended position, around the head 2 of the wearer.
The use of rigid curved elements 31-34 makes it possible to permanently ensure a rigid protective structure around the head 2 of the wearer immediately after triggering of the gas cartridge 70.
Of course, many modifications may be made to the invention without departing from its scope.
