Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a protection switching method and system.
Background
At present, most of transmission devices of an Optical Transport Network (OTN) are implemented by a distributed Fabric (Fabric) cell switching system, where a Fabric cell switching architecture includes a plurality of independent Fabric switching boards, and the purpose of expanding capacity can be achieved by a cascade connection mode. In practical engineering applications, the electrical layer protection of the Optical transport network device may adopt an Optical channel Data Unit (ODUk) 1+1 dual-transmission selective-reception scheme, as shown in fig. 1, where nodes a and B each include a control Unit, a Fabric switching Unit and multiple service boards, each service board is provided with a Fabric Access Processor (FAP), the Fabric switching Unit includes multiple independent Fabric switching boards, and each Fabric switching board is provided with a switching chip. At the calling node A, the business data is copied in the Fabric switching unit, and the main business data and the standby business data are sent to the business board card in parallel; in the lower call node B, the control unit selects one of the service channels to send the service data to the outlet service board card according to the states of the main service channel and the standby service channel.
At present, in order to meet the requirement of protection switching time, deletion and establishment of the main/standby services do not implement cA strict order-preserving mechanism in the software control layer, and the switching action of the main/standby services is completed on an exit service board card of the drop node, see the schematic diagram of the drop node B shown in fig. 2, where the service board card srcpfcA- cA and the service board card srcpfcA-B each detect cA service datcA flow signal on cA line and report an alarm message to the control unit. The protection switching Processing module on the control Unit compares and analyzes the reported alarm information, judges whether the service data stream signal on the line is degraded or not, if protection switching needs to be performed, sends a protection switching control command to the service board card srcpfa-C through an out-of-band management channel, a Central Processing Unit (CPU) on the service board card srcpfa-C analyzes the protection switching control command, and operates chip hardware through a Peripheral Component fast interconnection (PCIe) channel to complete protection switching actions.
In the process, the main service flow and the standby service flow are simultaneously sent to the outlet service board SrcFAP-C, so that the instantaneous rate of the total capacity of the port/service board is over-limited, and the bandwidth of other services on the outlet service board is occupied. In order to solve the problem, in the prior art, part of bandwidth is reserved for the standby service, but the bandwidth utilization rate of the egress service board card is reduced, for example, the total service processing capacity of the service board card srcpap-C is 200G, in a protection switching application scenario, the service board card can only configure 100G of service flow, the remaining 100G of bandwidth is reserved for the standby service to occupy during the protection switching operation, and the bandwidth utilization rate of the service board card is only fifty percent, so that the investment return rate of a user is reduced, and the equipment product lacks market competitiveness.
In addition, when the FAP chip splits the cells, serial number information is added to the head, and cell reordering needs to be completed on an outlet service board SrcFAP-C to restore the original message structure. Because the target ports of the main and standby service flows are the same, the service board cards SrcFAP-A and SrcFAP-B can be sent to the same reordering (reorder) queue of SrcFAP-C, two sets of independent serial numbers entering the same reordering queue can trigger reordering function abnormity, service recovery time is prolonged, time for software processing protection switching operation can be greatly shortened, and higher requirements are provided for software design.
Therefore, how to guarantee the utilization rate of the board bandwidth and reduce the protection switching time in the distributed optical network transmission device is an urgent problem to be solved by those skilled in the art.

Detailed Description
The invention is described in further detail below with reference to the figures and the embodiments.
Referring to fig. 3, an embodiment of the present invention provides a protection switching method, which is applied to a network device, where the network device includes a control unit, a plurality of switch boards, and a plurality of service boards, and for example, the network device may be a node B shown in fig. 1 and fig. 2. The switch board is used for forwarding service data among a plurality of service boards, and the service data may be, without limitation, a cell, a packet, or a designated data unit, where the designated data unit includes a code block having a designated number of bits, such as 66B bits.
The protection switching method comprises the following steps:
s110, the control unit issues a control command to the specified service board card, and the control command carries the switching information of the service channel.
And S120, the service processing chip of the specified service board generates a forwarding control message according to the control command, and sends the forwarding control message to all accessible switching boards through the service channel.
S130, the exchange chip of the exchange board card updates the forwarding table entry and switches the service channel according to the forwarding control message.
The embodiment of the invention generates the switching message in the service processing chip of the service board card, and sends the switching message to all accessible switching board cards in a hardware broadcasting mode, thereby not only accelerating the synchronization of forwarding table items among all the switching chips in the switching board cards, but also realizing protection switching by the switching chips, and avoiding the problem of protection switching overtime caused by the asynchronous software interactive operation among a plurality of CPUs in the existing protection switching scheme. Therefore, the embodiment of the invention accelerates the completion of the Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) service fast switching on the Fabric chip hardware level, provides enough Time for the protection switching software operation, and meets the Time requirement of the protection switching.
In the embodiment of the invention, the Fabric switching unit (which comprises a plurality of Fabric switching board cards) filters the standby service data, and avoids the situation that the main service data stream and the standby service data stream are simultaneously sent to the outlet board card (service board card), thereby solving the problems of low bandwidth utilization rate of the outlet board card (service board card) and long service recovery time caused by abnormal reordering function in the traditional protection switching scheme, and enhancing the robustness and self-healing of the equipment in the network.
In the existing Fabric cell switch architecture chip, the interaction of the private control cell is not opened for the user to operate, and the user cannot control the cell forwarded by the switch chip through the private control message. The embodiment of the invention adds a class of private control messages in the chip design for the operation of a user, generates the forwarding control messages in the service processing chip of the service board card and sends the forwarding control messages to all accessible switching board cards in a hardware broadcasting mode, and the switching chip of the switching board card updates the forwarding table items and switches the service channels according to the forwarding control messages, so that the user can control the cells forwarded by the switching chip, and the personalized requirements of the user are met.
The embodiment of the invention provides a chip hardware design implementation method for implementing service electrical layer protection switching in distributed optical network transmission equipment, which does not need to increase equipment hardware, reduces protection switching time and improves survivability and self-healing of an optical network.
Before step S110, the control unit issues the relevant configuration information of protection switching to the service board card and the switch board card of each node through the out-of-band management channel, and each service board card completes the multicast configuration of the corresponding service.
In step S110, the service boards are interconnected with all the switch boards, so that one service board is designated to send the forwarding control message, that is, it is ensured that all the switch boards of the network device can receive the forwarding control message, and thus, the electrical layer ODUk 1+1 service protection, 1: 1 service protection or M: n service protection, etc.
In step S130, the switch chip of the switch board receives the forwarding control message, searches for the service channel corresponding to the switching information in the forwarding table entry, updates the forwarding table entry and switches the service channel if the corresponding service channel is found, and discards the forwarding control message if the corresponding service channel is not found.
In an optional implementation, step S110 further includes: and a protection switching processing module in the control unit sends a protection switching command to each service board card according to the abnormity of the service signal in the working service channel, wherein the protection switching command comprises the switching information of the service channel, and each service board card completes the multicast configuration update of the corresponding service.
The control unit may issue configuration information to a service board card in the process of initialization or operation of the network device, and configure the service board card as a designated service board card. The control unit may also select a designated service board card according to the protection switching command.
In an optional implementation manner, the designated service board is located in the switched service channel, where the service channels before and after switching are the master and backup service channels.
For the 1+1 service protection manner, taking fig. 4 as an example, the service boards srcfpp- cA and srcfpp-B respectively receive service datcA from the source service board in the service channel, and forward the service datcA to the target service board srcfpp-C in the service channel through the Fabric switching unit, thereby implementing the electrical layer ODUk 1+1 service protection. When the working service channel is switched to the service channel where SrcFAP-B is located from the service channel where SrcFAP-A is located, SrcFAP-B in the switched service channel receives service datcA from the source-end service board card, and the specified service board card can be SrcFAP-B or SrcFAP-C located in the switched service channel.
In an optional implementation manner, the switching chip starts a daemon process, the daemon process receives and analyzes the forwarding control message, and updates the forwarding table entry according to the analysis result, thereby further accelerating the synchronization of the hardware forwarding states among the switching chips of the Fabric switching unit, and thus reducing the time consumed by the service protection switching in the switching chip.
In an optional embodiment, the forwarding control message includes status information of the traffic channel, and the status information is enabled or disabled.
The switching chip forwards the service data in the service channel with the state information being enabled, and discards the service data in the service channel with the state information being disabled, i.e. opens or closes the filtering function of the service data, thereby further accelerating the synchronization of the hardware forwarding state among the switching chips of the Fabric switching unit, and further reducing the time consumed by the service protection switching in the switching chips.
Further, the status information is an enable flag bit, and the value of the enable flag bit is 0 or 1 to indicate enable or disable, respectively.
Further, the forwarding control message includes a unicast switching message and a multicast switching message, and the unicast switching message includes status information of the service channel and information of the source and destination service boards; the multicast switching message comprises the state information of the service channel and the information of the source service board card, and further accelerates the hardware forwarding state synchronization between the switching chips of the Fabric switching unit, thereby reducing the time consumed by service protection switching in the switching chips.
Specifically, the information of the destination service board includes a name or an identifier of the destination service board and a port number (i.e., a destination port) of the destination service board, the unicast switching message is shown in table one, and the multicast switching message is shown in table two, where FAP is a service processing chip of the service board.

The unicast filtering table is indexed according to 'destination FAP and destination port' in table one, and each entry in table three contains the following information:
table three: unicast filter table
Bit field | Updating | Description of the invention |
Enable flag bit | Unicast handover messages | Whether or not to enable cell filtering function |
Source FAP | Unicast handover messages | Whether to discard cells from the source FAP |
When detecting the unicast switching message, the daemon of the Fabric switching chip analyzes the destination FAP, the destination port, the enabling flag bit and the source FAP field in the unicast switching message, and directly operates the corresponding entry in the unicast filtering table to specify whether the cell sent from a certain source FAP to the destination FAP and the destination port is discarded in the switching chip.
The multicast filter table is indexed according to the "multicast group value" in table two, and each entry in table four contains the following information:
table four: multicast filtering table
Bit field | Updating | Description of the invention |
Enable flag bit | Multicast handover messages | Whether or not to enable cell filtering function |
Source FAP | Multicast handover messages | Whether to discard cells from the source FAP |
When the daemon process of the switching chip detects the multicast switching message, the multicast group value, the enabling flag bit and the source FAP field in the multicast switching message are analyzed, and corresponding entries in the multicast filtering table are directly acted, so that whether cells sent to the multicast group from a certain source FAP are discarded in the switching chip or not is designated.
