Description

Character typesetting method for electronic book
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of character typesetting, in particular to a character typesetting method for an electronic book.
Background
With the continuous development of operating systems such as android and iOS, electronic books have great advantages in portability and easy modification compared with paper books, which causes people to pay attention to fast reading, a large number of enterprises are dedicated to the 'reading speed revolution', and in consideration of a new text typesetting mode, fast reading APPs such as spreders and Spritz are developed, which can improve the reading speed of readers. These APPs were developed based on the idea that most of the time spent reading was wasted moving between page letters, and they generally used what is known as rapid continuous visual presentation (RSVP) technology that presented text in single or two or three words in the center of the screen. The rate of text presentation may be set to 300, 500 or 1000 words per minute, allowing the reader to read more and more quickly.
However, the reading patterns provided by such APPs are always left to right, jumping to the next row, and then left to right. Theoretically, this reading method is very eye-conscious and consumes much time. Moreover, the APP can not improve the reading speed of a reader and simultaneously does not influence the reading understanding degree. Because it prevents people from understanding a natural means of reading material-review. In a normal reading mode, when we realize that a word or phrase is not fully understood, we look back to fully understand. However, people cannot look back at these APPs. Even if APP provides this function, it is more cumbersome and time consuming than in the normal reading mode.

Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention more apparent, the present invention is described in further detail below with reference to specific embodiments and the accompanying drawings.
The invention provides two typesetting modes for an electronic book, namely S-shaped typesetting and block typesetting.
The S-type layout is a special layout improved from the reading habit in normal reading of chinese books, for example, when a person reads chinese material, the person always jumps from left to right to the next line and then from left to right. Theoretically, this reading method is very eye-conscious and consumes much time. Therefore, the reading mode of the S-shaped typesetting is changed from left to right, then from right to left and then from left to right, so that the eyeball movement efficiency is improved, the reading efficiency is improved, the fatigue of eyes is relieved, the eyesight is protected, and the implementation effect diagram is shown in fig. 1. After the traditional horizontal arrangement method finishes one line, the sight line must be retraced to the beginning of the next line, the line error is easy to occur, and the S-shaped typesetting can be connected to the next line by directly looking down at the end of each line, so that the defect can be overcome.
The S-type typesetting is not suitable for excessively dense typesetting, namely, is not suitable for being used under the condition that the font is too small, generally, each line of characters of the electronic book on the mobile phone is not many, and the S-type typesetting is suitable for the electronic book. Meanwhile, the reading efficiency of the S-type reading mode is obviously improved when the reading speed is approximately equal to the receiving speed (for example, when the reading is performed, the reading is performed in a straight-in and straight-out mode), so that the S-type typesetting is suitable for reading the articles which are easy to remember. The specific implementation effect is shown in fig. 1. The reading efficiency refers to an information receiving rate when a person reads a book, wherein the total efficiency of the effective information receiving rate and the ineffective (error) information receiving rate is the generalized reading efficiency. The reading efficiency test mode in a broad sense is the number of words read in a unit time, i.e. inversely proportional to the time required to read the same book.
The block typesetting is a special typesetting improved due to the reading habit when reading partial Chinese books, in particular to reciting contents needing deep memory. The memory habit of people is block memory, that is, the whole content is divided into several blocks and is memorized in the mode of image instead of character. This is also related to the human viewing angle. The human visual angle is block-shaped, so that a person can hardly see the leftmost side and the rightmost side of a line at the same time when reading, and can hardly read the content normally even if the person can read the content, but the person can see the characters of a common line or even a line descending downwards at the same time, which can be proved by eye movement reading experiments in 1925. Therefore, the block-shaped typesetting can improve the efficiency of deep reading, namely, the block-shaped typesetting has better improvement effect on the literature or ancient poetry literature which is more obscure. Meanwhile, the block-shaped typesetting can help the memory of the image memory method. If each row is too long, the normal typesetting or S-type typesetting may be affected by the block view, causing memory conflict and weakening the memory efficiency. Moreover, if the user can read a whole area each time, the user can also avoid the over-tiredness of eyes, so that the effect of relaxing the eyes and protecting the eyesight is achieved, and the specific implementation effect schematic diagram is shown in fig. 2.
The block typesetting can meet the reading requirements of quick-reading trainers of various levels while providing training for quick-reading crowds. For normal electronic book typesetting, some low-level fast reading trainers may not be able to recognize and memorize long columns of characters as images well. By block typesetting, the trainer can adjust the size of the character block to adapt to the fast reading ability of the trainer, thereby reducing the difficulty for the trainer. Several examples are listed below.
