An air curtain 100 for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to fig. 1 to 2.
The air curtain 100 for a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention may include: an air curtain body section 1 and an air curtain folding section 2.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, an air curtain 100, which is one of vehicle air bags, is integrally installed at a door window of an inner side portion of a vehicle to be spread when the vehicle is hit, thereby effectively protecting a driver and a passenger at the side portion as well as the front portion.
Because the front end of traditional gas curtain all stretches into in the vehicle A post, consequently, the holistic length that sets up of gas curtain receives vehicle A post restriction, makes its protective range less when stretching out, protection driver and passenger that can not be fine to when the gas curtain stretches, need vehicle A post to open the action, this just makes vehicle A post need set up and opens the structure, thereby the overall structure that leads to vehicle A post is more complicated, and the existence is opened inefficacy and gas curtain and is hit the risk of smashing vehicle A post moreover.
To this end, the present embodiment integrally provides the air curtain 100 as two parts, i.e., the air curtain body section 1 and the air curtain folding section 2, and connects the two parts, i.e., the front end of the air curtain body section 1 is configured as the body section connecting end 11, and the air curtain folding section 2 is connected to the body section connecting end 11 to form the complete air curtain 100. The inflatable curtain folding section 2 has a first state (non-extended state) and a second state (extended state), when the vehicle is normally running or parked, the inflatable curtain folding section 2 is in the first state, and at the moment, the inflatable curtain folding section 2 is folded towards the rear end of the inflatable curtain body section 1 to be folded on the inflatable curtain body section 1, namely, under the normal condition, the inflatable curtain folding section 2 is folded on the inflatable curtain body section 1 and is always in the stable setting of the state. When the vehicle is impacted, the air curtain folding section 2 is changed from the first state to the second state, at the moment, the air curtain 100 is expanded integrally, and the air curtain folding section 2 is also stretched forwards to cover the side part and the front part in the vehicle, so that the driver and passengers are effectively protected from being injured by the impact.
Wherein the front end of the inflatable curtain 100 is spaced from the vehicle a-pillar 200 when the inflatable curtain folding section 2 is in the first state. In other words, the entirety of the air curtain 100 does not extend deep into the vehicle a-pillar 200.
From this, the whole of air curtain 100 sets up the restriction that length will not receive vehicle A post 200, and what can set up relatively is longer, has increased the protection area of air curtain 100 to make air curtain 100 can be better after stretching out cover lateral part and front portion in the car, thereby effectual reduction vehicle front row passenger received in the small-angle collision injury, and then promoted the security of vehicle.
Moreover, because the air curtain 100 does not go deep into the vehicle a-pillar 200, the vehicle a-pillar 200 does not need to be provided with a corresponding opening structure, so that the design difficulty of the vehicle a-pillar 200 can be effectively reduced, and the overall cost of the vehicle can be further reduced.
Furthermore, can set up the length of gas curtain folding section 2 according to the vehicle model of difference to change the whole length of gas curtain 100, with can all realize better protection to the vehicle homoenergetic of difference, because gas curtain folding section 2 is folding on gas curtain this body section 1 under normal conditions, consequently, the length that sets up of gas curtain folding section 2 will not be restricted, thereby has improved the holistic commonality and the practicality of gas curtain 100.
The front and rear described above may be understood as the front and rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction, and the front and rear described below is both considered as the front and rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction unless otherwise specifically explained.
According to the air curtain 100 for the vehicle, the arrangement length of the air curtain 100 is not limited by the A column 200 of the vehicle, and the air curtain 100 is arranged to be longer as a whole, so that the protection area of the air curtain 100 is larger when the air curtain is unfolded, the injury of a front passenger in a small-angle collision of the vehicle is effectively reduced, and the safety of the vehicle is improved.
With reference to the embodiment shown in fig. 1 and 2, the air curtain folding section 2 can be folded at the body section connecting end 11, that is, the body section connecting end 11 is spaced apart from the vehicle a-pillar 200, and the length of the air curtain folding section 2 when the air curtain folding section is extended in the second state is greater than the distance between the body section connecting end 11 and the vehicle a-pillar 200, so that the air curtain folding section 2 can cover the vehicle a-pillar 200 area and the vehicle instrument panel area after being extended, thereby effectively protecting the driver and the passenger at the side and the front in the vehicle, and further improving the safety of the vehicle.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the air curtain 100 further includes: a breakable stitching line 3, the stitching line 3 being disposed between the air curtain body section 1 and the air curtain folded section 2 to isolate the air curtain body section 1 from the air curtain folded section 2. Since the air curtain 100 is generally composed of an air bag and an air bag cover outside the air bag, folding is facilitated, and the sewing thread 3 is easily provided on the air curtain 100 without causing leakage of the air curtain 100.
Wherein the stitching thread 3 is provided in a breakable form to break apart when the interior of the gas curtain 100 is inflated to a certain extent.
Wherein, because set up 3 intensity of sewing line and be bigger, consequently, air curtain folding section 2 can be folded along sewing line 3 to make folding more convenient, and can make the air curtain 100 after folding whole more stable.
Preferably, the sewing thread 3 may be provided at the junction between the body section connecting end 11 and the inflatable curtain folding section 2.
With reference to the embodiment shown in fig. 1 and 2, the curtain body section 1 has a first inflatable space 12 therein, the curtain folding section 2 has a second inflatable space 22 therein, and the seam line 3 separates the first inflatable space 12 from the second inflatable space 22. Normally, the inflatable curtain body section 1 is in a compressed state and the inflatable curtain folded section 2 is in a compressed state in the first state, so that both the first inflatable space 12 and the second inflatable space 22 are compressed (see fig. 1).
When the vehicle is impacted, the first inflatable space 12 and the second inflatable space 22 are filled with gas to expand the whole air curtain 100, at this time, the folded section 2 of the air curtain is in the second state, and the sewing thread 3 is broken due to the expansion force of the air curtain 100 to communicate the first inflatable space 12 with the second inflatable space 22 (refer to fig. 2), so that the inside of the air curtain 100 is formed into a whole to ensure the whole buffering effect of the air curtain 100.
Wherein reference numeral 2 in fig. 2 indicates the particular case of the inflatable curtain fold 2 when in the first state, and reference numeral 2' indicates the particular case of the inflatable curtain fold 2 when in the second state.
As a preferred embodiment, the first inflatable space 12 is configured as an active inflatable space and the second inflatable space 22 is configured as a passive inflatable space. That is, the first inflatable space 12 will actively generate gas to automatically inflate, and the second inflatable space 22 will not automatically generate gas but will be filled with the gas generated in the first inflatable space 12. For example, the first inflatable space 12 has a gas generator therein, while the second inflatable space 22 does not have a gas generator therein.
Specifically, when the vehicle is impacted and the air curtain 100 starts to inflate, the air curtain body section 1 is inflated first, gas cannot enter the air curtain folding section 2 due to the blocking effect of the sewing line 3, and after the air curtain body section 1 is filled with gas, the pressure is increased, the sewing line 3 is broken, the gas enters the air curtain folding section 2, and the air curtain folding section 2 extends forwards to cover the vehicle A column 200 and the vehicle instrument panel, so that a driver and passengers are protected.
Therefore, the overall expansion of the air curtain 100 can be more regular, so as to avoid the mutual interference when the air curtain body section 1 and the air curtain folding section 2 are expanded, and further improve the overall stability of the air curtain 100.
As another preferred embodiment, the first inflatable space 12 and the second inflatable space 22 are both configured as active inflatable spaces. I.e., both the first inflatable space 12 and the second inflatable space 22 will actively generate gas to be inflated automatically. For example, a gas generator is provided in both the first inflatable space 12 and the second inflatable space 22.
From this, can make gas curtain body section 1 and gas curtain folding section 2 can inflate simultaneously to make the whole reaction inflation speed of gas curtain 100 faster, can take place the very first time of striking at the vehicle and react rapidly in order to protect passenger and driver, thereby further promoted the security of vehicle.
As shown in fig. 1, inflatable curtain folded section 2 is folded in a flat manner over inflatable curtain body section 1. Therefore, the folding section 2 of the air curtain can be more smoothly extended, and the overall extension speed of the air curtain 100 is ensured.
Alternatively, the air curtain folded section 2 is folded in a rolled form on the air curtain body section 1. Therefore, the air curtain folding section 2 can occupy smaller arrangement space and is more convenient to arrange in a vehicle.
A vehicle according to another aspect of the present invention includes the inflatable curtain 100 for a vehicle described in the above embodiments. Other configurations of the vehicle, such as transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, etc., are known in the art and well known to those skilled in the art, and therefore will not be described in detail herein.
