The OLED (organic light emitting material) display panel has the characteristics of self-luminescence, high brightness, clear display, fast response speed, wide viewing angle, low power consumption, flexible display realization, and the like, and is known as a "dream display," which has become a main research object of the third generation display device in the display technology field.
At present, the OLED display panel usually adopts a PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) dimming technology, the PWM dimming reduces the maximum brightness and increases the minimum brightness, the brightness of the display panel is reduced by adjusting the duty ratio and shortening the brightness duration, and the PWM dimming adjusts the brightness of the display panel by fast flashing, but frequent flashing is more likely to cause fatigue to muscles on both sides of eyes, so as to stimulate the light bending system to perform linkage and accelerate the aging of eyesight.
The DC (direct current) dimming method is generally applied to LCD (liquid crystal display) and LED (inorganic light emitting material) display panels, and when the screen brightness is reduced by using the DC dimming technique, the display panel may have a color shift problem, so the DC dimming technique is rarely applied to the OLED display panel at present.
