6. The pet toy of claim 5, wherein the annular body includes a base and pleats formed in the base, the pleats extending circumferentially of the annular body such that when the first and second portions are closed, the pleats are outside the pet toy.

7. The pet toy of claim 6, wherein the pleats are provided in at least two rows with a groove formed between adjacent pleats.

8. A pet toy kit, characterized in that the pet toy kit comprises a pet toy according to any one of claims 1 to 7 and an assembly member housed in the housing cavity.

9. The pet toy assembly of claim 8, wherein the assembly includes at least three extensions extending outwardly from the receiving cavity, at least one of the extensions not extending in the same direction as another of the extensions.

10. A pet toy component according to claim 9, wherein the assembly is provided in a cross-shape.

11. The pet toy component of claim 8, wherein the assembly is made from an edible piece.
