Description

2/3D compatible multi-visual-area stereoscopic display device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to display technology, and more particularly, to stereoscopic display technology.
Background
The stereoscopic display technology is a display technology that can realize real reproduction of a stereoscopic scene, and can provide different parallax images to human eyes, respectively, thereby enabling a person to generate stereoscopic vision. The invention provides an 2/3D compatible multi-view zone stereoscopic display device, which can provide a plurality of view zones, wherein a stereoscopic image can be seen in the view zones, and a 2D image can be seen outside the view zones.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention provides an 2/3D compatible multi-view stereo display device. Fig. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of the 2/3D-compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device, wherein x represents a horizontal direction in space, y represents a vertical direction in space, and z represents an axial direction perpendicular to an xy plane. The 2/3D-compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device comprises a 2D display panel, a one-dimensional retro-reflective array, a polarizer array, a polarization projector array and a polarization plate.
Referring to fig. 1, the 2D display panel, the one-dimensional retro-reflective array, and the polarizer array are sequentially disposed in front of each other. The 2D display panel is placed at the end, the one-dimensional retro-reflective array is placed in the middle, and the polarizing array is placed at the front. The one-dimensional retro-reflection array is composed of a plurality of one-dimensional retro-reflection sheets, and the one-dimensional retro-reflection sheets can reflect light rays in the horizontal direction according to the original incident direction and scatter the light rays in the vertical direction. The polaroid array is composed of a plurality of polaroids in a polarization direction A and a polarization direction B respectively, and the polarization direction A is orthogonal to the polarization direction B. The polaroid in the polarization direction A covers the one-dimensional retroreflection sheet of the one-dimensional retroreflection array, and the polaroid in the polarization direction B covers the gap position of the one-dimensional retroreflection array.
Referring to fig. 1, the 2/3D compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device includes a plurality of polarization projector arrays, each polarization projector array including a plurality of polarization projectors. The polarization projector is used for projecting parallax images, and the light polarization direction of the projected images is consistent with the polarization direction A.
Referring to fig. 1, the 2/3D compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device is provided with a plurality of polarizing plates disposed near the polarized projector array. The polarizing plate allows light of the first polarization direction to pass therethrough, and does not allow light of the second polarization direction to pass therethrough.
Furthermore, the parallax image projected by any polarization projector on the polarization projector array can be projected onto the one-dimensional retro-reflection sheet through the polarizer in the polarization direction A on the polarizer array, and returns to the original polarization projector position in the horizontal direction after retro-reflection by the one-dimensional retro-reflection sheet. When the human eye is near the vertical projection area of the polarization projector behind the polarization plate, a parallax image corresponding to the human eye can be seen, thereby generating stereoscopic vision.
Further, the 2D display panel provides a 2D image, and the light rays of the 2D image sequentially pass through the gap positions of the one-dimensional retro-reflective array and the polarizer covered on the one-dimensional retro-reflective array and exit in the polarization direction b. When the human eye is not behind the polarizing plate, the 2D image provided by the 2D display panel and part of the light of the parallax image in the polarization direction a can be seen. However, due to the retro-reflection effect, the parallax image light is finally converged at the position of the polarization projector, and the light is weak at other positions, so that the expression of the 2D image provided by the 2D display panel is not affected.
Alternatively, an additional polarizing plate may be provided, which allows the light of the polarization direction b to pass therethrough, and does not allow the light of the polarization direction a to pass therethrough, and only the 2D image in the polarization direction b may be seen when human eyes are behind the additional polarizing plate, thereby reducing the influence of the parallax image light on the 2D image.
In summary, the present invention can form a viewing area at the position of the polarization projector array, and the stereoscopic image in the polarization direction a can be seen in the viewing area, while the stereoscopic image in the polarization direction b 2D can be seen in other positions.

Examples
Fig. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of an 2/3D-compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device provided in this embodiment, where x denotes a horizontal direction in space, y denotes a vertical direction in space, and z denotes an axial direction perpendicular to an xy plane. The 2/3D-compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device comprises a 2D display panel 100, a one-dimensional retro-reflective array 200, a polarizer array 300, three polarization projector arrays 410-430 and a polarization plate 500.
Referring to fig. 1, a 2D display panel 100, a one-dimensional retro-reflective array 200, and a polarizer array 300 are sequentially disposed in front of and behind one another. The 2D display panel 100 is placed at the end, the one-dimensional retro-reflective array 200 is placed in the middle, and the polarization array 300 is placed at the end. The one-dimensional retroreflective array 200 is composed of a plurality of one-dimensional retroreflective sheets 210, and the one-dimensional retroreflective sheets 210 can reflect light in the horizontal direction according to the original incident direction and scatter light in the vertical direction.
Referring to fig. 2, the present embodiment employs a one-dimensional retroreflective sheet 210 of a conventional structure. The one-dimensional retroreflective sheeting 210 is composed of a retroreflective film 201, a lenticular lens first 202, and a lenticular lens second 203. Referring to fig. 3, the retroreflective film 201 is made of a cubic structure, the incident light ray 610 can be reflected in the original incident direction after being reflected for 3 times to form a reflected light ray 620, and a certain displacement exists between the reflected light ray 620 and the incident light ray 610. The individual cylindrical lenses of lenticular lens sheet 202 are arranged vertically with a pitch on the order of the side length of the individual cubic structures on retroreflective film 201, which scatter light in the vertical direction by a displacement between incident light ray 610 and reflected light ray 620. The individual cylindrical lenses of the cylindrical lens grating b 203 are vertically arranged and have a pitch much larger than the side length of the single cubic crystal structure on the retroreflective film 201, so that the incident light ray 610 and the reflected light ray 620 are almost uniform in the horizontal direction.
Referring to fig. 1, the one-dimensional polarizer array 200 is composed of a plurality of polarizers 301 and 302 respectively in a polarization direction a and a polarization direction b, wherein the polarization direction a is orthogonal to the polarization direction b. The polarizer 301 in the polarization direction a covers the one-dimensional retroreflective sheet 210 of the one-dimensional retroreflective array 200, and the polarizer 302 in the polarization direction b covers the gap position of the one-dimensional retroreflective array 200.
Referring to fig. 1, the 2/3D compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device includes three polarization projector arrays 410-430, each polarization projector array including 4 polarization projectors 401. The polarization projector 401 is configured to project a parallax image, and the light polarization direction of the projected image is the same as the polarization direction a.
Referring to fig. 1, the 2/3D compatible multi-view stereoscopic display device includes a plurality of polarizing plates 500, and the polarizing plates 500 are disposed near the polarization projector arrays 410-430. The polarizing plate 500 allows light of the first polarization direction to pass therethrough, and does not allow light of the second polarization direction to pass therethrough.
Furthermore, the parallax images projected by any polarization projector 401 in the polarization projector arrays 410-430 can be projected onto the one-dimensional retro-reflection sheet 210 through the polarizer 301 in the polarization direction a in the polarizer array, retro-reflected by the one-dimensional retro-reflection sheet 210, and then returned to the original polarization projector 401 in the horizontal direction. Since the projector arrays 410 to 430 are each composed of 4 polarization projectors 401, 4 viewpoints can be formed in the space. When the human eye is near the viewpoint position behind the polarizing plate 500, a parallax image corresponding thereto can be seen, thereby producing stereoscopic vision. Meanwhile, since the polarizing plate 500 may filter out light in the polarization direction b, the viewed parallax image is free from interference of the 2D image in the polarization direction b.
Further, the 2D display panel 100 provides a 2D image, and the light rays sequentially pass through the gap positions of the one-dimensional retro-reflective array 200 and the polarizer 302 covering the gap positions in the polarization direction b. When the human eye is not behind the polarizing plate 500, the 2D image provided by the 2D display panel 100 can be seen.
Meanwhile, the present embodiment provides an additional polarizing plate 700, the polarizing plate 700 allows light of the polarization direction b to pass therethrough, and does not allow light of the polarization direction a to pass therethrough, and only a 2D image in the polarization direction b can be seen when human eyes are behind the additional polarizing plate 700.
In summary, in the present invention, a viewing area can be formed at the positions of the polarization projector arrays 410 to 430, and the stereoscopic image in the polarization direction a can be seen in the viewing area, while the stereoscopic image in the polarization direction b 2D can be seen in other positions.
