Background
With the rapid development of information technology, the global demand for optical communication products is increasing, and the optical communication industry is becoming one of the most important industries in the process of informatization. In recent years, in order to meet the requirement of a large number of optical fibers in a data center and facilitate the splicing and plugging of optical fibers, many types of optical fiber connection products are available. The Multi-fiber push On/Pull Off (MPO) connector has more than 1 fiber core, and is a connector type of high-speed transmission standard. When the MPO connector is applied in high-density side-by-side mode (including being butted with an MPO interface on an optical module and being butted with an interface of an MPO adapter), when an operation and maintenance person inserts, pulls, inserts and installs the MPO connector, the operation and maintenance person may accidentally unlock the adjacent MPO connector by mistake, if the incorrect unlocking condition cannot be found and processed on the spot, some links in a normal working state are abnormal, the maintenance is very troublesome, and great troubles are caused to the operation and maintenance. In the prior art, the MPO connector is directly used for connecting the adapter under most conditions and is fixed by the self-locking function of the MPO connector, and the scheme does not have the function of preventing mistaken unlocking. Furthermore, prior art MPO connector housings are exposed and are easily accessible, resulting in a mis-unlocking condition. In view of the above, the present invention provides an MPO connector with a cover-type unlocking prevention structure, including an MPO connector and an unlocking prevention assembly connected to a housing of the MPO connector, where the unlocking prevention assembly includes an assembly cover, and the assembly cover is wrapped on the housing of the MPO connector and cannot directly contact the housing to perform unlocking, so as to prevent the unlocking from being mistakenly performed.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an assembly method of an MPO connector having a cover type unlocking prevention structure, in which a cover is assembled when a housing and a front cover are assembled, and then an optical fiber jumper is assembled, and then the MPO connector with the cover is assembled with an MPO adapter, so that the connection between the MPO connector and the MPO adapter is conveniently realized.

Detailed Description
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the MPO connector 10 includes a housing 11, a front sleeve 12 and an optical fiber jumper 13, the front sleeve 12 is sleeved on an end portion of the optical fiber jumper 13, the housing 11 is sleeved on the front sleeve 12, two sides of the housing 11 are respectively provided with symmetrically arranged circular holes 111, a rear end protrusion 121 is arranged at a rear end of the front sleeve 12, a limiting gap 100 is formed between the housing 11 and the rear end protrusion 121, the housing 11 can slide along the front sleeve 12 under the action of an external force, and the width of the limiting gap 100 is reduced in the sliding process, so as to unlock the MPO connector 10.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the MPO connector with the cover type unlocking prevention structure of the present invention includes an MPO connector 10 and an unlocking prevention assembly 20, wherein the unlocking prevention assembly 20 includes a cover 21 and an unlocking stopper 22, the cover 21 is wrapped on the housing 11, and the cover 21 is embedded in the limiting gap 100 and cannot directly contact the housing 11 from the outside, so as to achieve the function of preventing the unlocking by mistake. The unlocking button 22 is rotatably connected with the housing 11 through two circular holes 111, the unlocking button 22 can be rotated to be attached to the mask 21, and unlocking of the MPO connector 10 can be achieved by operating the unlocking button 22.
Specifically, the cover 21 has opposite front and rear ends 211 and 212, and the rear end 212 fits into the limiting gap 100 when the cover 21 is fitted to the MPO connector 10. The unlocking buckle 22 has a limiting portion 221 and two connectors 222, the two connectors 222 are respectively inserted into the two round holes 111, and the unlocking buckle 22 is rotatably connected with the housing 11 through the two connectors 222. When the release buckle 22 rotates to the position where the limit portion is fitted to the rear end 212, the release buckle 22 is integrally fitted to the cover 21, and the MPO connector 10 cannot be unlocked by the release buckle 22 without any special operation. The cover 21 and the release buckle 22 are assembled on the MPO connector 10 and then disassembled without any special external force, and are not detached or lost.
It should be noted that, instead of the unlocking buckle 22, a bent crochet hook, a pointed forceps, or other tools may be used to hook the circular hole 111 and drive the housing 11 to move for unlocking.
The mask 21 may be made of metal, alloy or plastic. The release buckle 22 can be made of metal, alloy or plastic, and is not easy to damage in general use environment and has long service life.
Preferably, the release catch 22 is of unitary construction. For example, the unlocking buckle 22 is formed by bending a metal rod, wherein the two connectors 222 are formed by bending two end portions of the metal rod, the limiting portion 221 is formed by the middle portion of the metal rod, the unlocking buckle 22 of the integrated structure is firmer in structure, not prone to fracture and longer in service life, the unlocking buckle 22 adopting the metal rod bending mode is light in weight and small in size, and the overall weight and size of the MPO connector can be effectively reduced.
As shown in fig. 5 and 6, when assembling the housing 11 and the front cover 12, and assembling the cover 21 at the same time, the cover 21 is firstly sleeved on the housing 11, and then the housing 11 sleeved with the cover 21 is sleeved on the front cover 12, so that the rear end 212 is embedded in the limiting gap 100. Then, as shown in fig. 7 and 8, the assembled housing 11, front cover 12 and cover 21 are fitted over the optical fiber jumpers 13. Then, the unlocking pieces 22 are mounted on the housing 11 through the two circular holes 111, and the assembly of the MPO connector having the hood type unlocking prevention structure is completed.
As shown in fig. 10, the MPO connector having the cover type unlocking prevention structure is assembled with the MPO adapter 30 to form the assembled product shown in fig. 11, and at this time, the front end 211 and the rear end 212 of the cover 21 are respectively abutted and limited by the MPO adapter 30 and the rear end protrusion 121, so as to prevent the cover 21 from moving. When the MPO connector with the cover type unlocking prevention structure needs to be unlocked, the unlocking device 22 needs to be unlocked in a clearance mode, as shown in fig. 12, the unlocking device 22 is rotated, then the unlocking device 22 can be directly pulled, the shell 11 is driven to move by taking the two round holes 111 as the acting points, and the unlocking device 22 can also be rotated to be in contact with the MPO adapter 30 to drive the shell 11 to move by utilizing the lever principle.
As shown in fig. 13 and 14, in a variation of the MPO connector with the shielding type unlocking prevention structure according to the present invention, the unlocking prevention assembly 20 only includes a shielding cover 21A, the shielding cover 21A is a tail sleeve structure, the shielding cover 21A is movably sleeved on the housing 11 from one end of the optical fiber jumper 13, the shielding cover 21A completely wraps the housing 11, the housing 11 cannot be directly contacted from the outside, and the shielding cover 21A is embedded in the limiting gap 100, so as to achieve the function of preventing the unlocking by mistake. The inside of the cover 21A has a protrusion 211A, and when the cover 21A completely wraps the housing 11, the protrusion 211A is inserted into the limiting gap 100, so that the cover 21A is fixedly connected to the MPO connector 10. When unlocking is required, the unlocking can be realized by directly pulling the shade 21A.

10. A method of assembling an MPO connector having a hood-type unlocking prevention structure, according to claim 7, comprising the steps of:
(A) the optical fiber jumper is sleeved with the shade;
(B) assembling the shell, the front sleeve and the optical fiber jumper to form the MPO connector;
