Background
The definitive diagnosis of novel coronavirus infection requires the collection of a pharyngeal swab for corresponding examination. The current detection method is that medical staff presses the tongue root and then uses a pharyngeal swab to take secretion from the pharynx for inspection. In the process of taking the sample, the patient is easy to cough and nausea because the medical staff is over against the patient and presses the tongue root of the patient, and the aerogel sprayed in the process easily causes the infection of the medical staff. The medical staff is therefore wearing a highly protected device to take the specimen, even though the risk of infection is still great. The patient can take the specimen by himself, and the patient cannot see the pharyngeal portion of the patient, so that the specimen cannot be obtained accurately.
Therefore, how to provide a device for enabling a patient to conveniently self-take a throat swab sample so as to avoid the probability of infection among doctors and patients is a problem to be solved.
