Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a mask for facial care.
The present invention relates to the field of cosmetology or dermatology for providing care to the body surface of a user comprising at least in part the face.
Background
The cosmetic field includes various components, particularly for improving the aesthetic appearance of the skin, especially the face. The face is one of the main goals of cosmetic product manufacturers, as this area is subject to the attention of the user. The face is a particular and unique area of the body surface because it aggregates very strong changes in cell physiology in a small size, thus aggregating the changes in skin texture, appearance and properties that define the different areas. These different regions of the face sometimes have different requirements. Thus, cleansing compositions directed to the T-zone (corresponding to the middle portion of the face, including the forehead, nose and alar, and possibly the chin) may dry the cheeks. Conversely, the moisturizing component may leave the T-zone shiny. The care required for these different areas is different.
There are some facial care kits that allow the user to apply one component to one area and then another component to another area.
However, these kits have been found to be less effective. In fact, the user only leaves the components and their application on the area of care. Furthermore, compliance with application requirements, whether in quantity, area, or method of application, is not necessarily mandatory. In addition, it is often known that asymmetric application results in disappointing users.
Therefore, there is a need to develop a less complex solution and ensure better user satisfaction.
Disclosure of Invention
To this end, the invention relates to a mask for facial care, advantageously a cosmetic mask, comprising a backing for direct or indirect application on a body surface, advantageously at least partially comprising the face of a user. The backing includes a first side, referred to as the inner side, for the body facing surface and a second side, referred to as the outer side, opposite the inner side. The inner side of the backing includes a plurality of so-called functional areas for application on or facing a target area of the body surface, respectively. The plurality of said functional areas comprises-an adhesive matrix configured to hold the mask in contact with the body surface and-and an active component comprising an active ingredient, at least two of said plurality of said functional areas comprising active components different from each other.
The proposed solution allows to provide targeted care for each area to be maintained globally and simultaneously.
It is therefore an advantage of the present invention to provide a unique product for facial care having distinct functional areas configured to provide distinct and targeted active components for each target area. The user can simultaneously care for the target area with different and appropriate care with one motion. The application of the active ingredient is completed at the target site and the amount of active ingredient is predetermined, thereby avoiding instances where the user is not using the product and applying the product incorrectly.
The application of the active ingredient and therefore the curing takes place in an advantageously symmetrical manner, so that satisfactory results can be obtained.
Advantageously, the adhesive matrix is filled with the active component. This means that the adhesive matrix is mixed with the active component. Thus, different adhesive matrices comprising different active components are arranged on different so-called functional areas of the inner side of the backing intended to face the body surface.
The mask advantageously comprises a through opening for placement at least facing the eyes and/or nose and/or mouth. These openings improve the comfort of use of the mask by avoiding covering the eyes and/or mouth and/or nose of the user.
According to a preferred possibility, the mask covers most of the facial surface, more precisely the forehead, the eye contour, the forehead corners, the cheeks, the chin, the nose.
According to an alternative possibility, the mask is mask-shaped and covers the forehead and the eye contour.
According to a variant, the invention relates to a method for manufacturing a mask as described above, comprising a single step of depositing, advantageously by screen printing, an adhesive matrix containing the active component of each functional area on the inner side of the backing.
This manufacturing method allows the deposition of different adhesive matrices per functional area at a time without the risk of the adhesive matrix deposited on the functional area being damaged by the subsequent deposition step. For example, the deposited adhesive matrix adheres to a subsequent screen, thereby allowing deposition of the adhesive matrix of the next functional area.
Furthermore, this one-step screen printing method allows for a reduction in manufacturing time, labor requirements, and thus manufacturing costs.
According to this variant, the invention also relates to a screen printing apparatus comprising a frame, advantageously parallelepiped, comprising at least two transversely arranged parallel recesses, each facing each other on the inner side of two opposite sides. The apparatus includes at least one divider for cooperating with at least two recesses to define a functional area of the mask. The partition is advantageously arranged perpendicularly to two opposite sides of the receiving recess.
Preferably, the apparatus includes a screen disposed on the frame to define the shape of the mask and the area of application of the adhesive matrix. The screen advantageously defines the active surface of the mask.

Cosmetic masks are known which are cosmetic components that are applied to the skin of a user for a period of time to provide care. The component is combined with a substrate such as a nonwoven, paper or polymer film. The use of a substrate facilitates the application of the cosmetic composition by the user. Typically, the substrate is impregnated with the cosmetic component and sold in packaging. The functionality of these products depends primarily on the functionality of the cosmetic component and more directly on the active ingredient used in the cosmetic component. Thus, with the known mask, the care measures are the same over the entire surface of the mask, i.e. over the entire surface of the skin cared with the cosmetic component.
The invention is characterized in that the inner side 2 of the mask of the invention comprises an active surface corresponding to the surface of the mask intended to be in surface contact with the body surface. The active surface comprises at least two so-called functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13. One so-called functional area is intended to be applied on a target area 16, 17, 18 of the body surface. Each functional region 6, 7, 8, 13 comprises a different active component comprising at least one active ingredient. Thus, each functional area allows to provide a specific care for a target area of the respective body surface. The active ingredient is released to the skin surface and then passes through the upper layers of the epidermis by passive migration.
The functional areas 6, 7, 8 may have various shapes suitable for the target area to be maintained by the mask.
The object of the present invention is to allow to care each area of the face with a single action, at the same time, for example with an anti-wrinkle component for the forehead and around the mouth, an anti-black eye-loop component for the under-eye, a lightening anti-blemish component for the cheeks.
According to a first embodiment, shown in fig. 1 and 3, the functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13 have a complementary shape of the target area 16, 17, 18 to be maintained. Preferably, the functional area extends symmetrically on both sides of the vertical axis 10 defined by the sagittal plane. The vertical axis 10 passes through the mask from the forehead to the chin.
According to a second embodiment, which is shown in fig. 2 and 4, the functional regions 6, 7, 8, 13 extend parallel to one another. The functional areas take the form of strips which are advantageously parallel to one another. The strips extend transversely with respect to the above-mentioned vertical axis 10.
According to an embodiment, the functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13 are either continuous or spaced apart.
Advantageously, each functional area comprises an adhesive matrix 5, in particular for keeping the mask in contact with the skin.
Preferably, the thickness of the adhesive matrix 5 is 0.5 to 3 mm.
The adhesive matrix 5 is flexible, i.e. the adhesive matrix 5 is configured not to alter the flexibility of the backing 1. The substrate is referred to as an adhesive, i.e., configured to hold the mask on the skin of the user. Preferably, the mask is held in contact with the skin by the adhesive matrix 5 alone. I.e. the adhesive matrix 5 is intended to temporarily adhere or adhere to the skin to which it is applied. For this purpose, the adhesive matrix 5 comprises at least one adhesive selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, polyacrylates, polyisobutylene, polyvinylpyrrolidone, silicones. For example, the viscosity of the matrix is between 1 and 150K, preferably between 100K and 150K, more preferably 125K cPs, as measured by the C/5 method.
The adhesive matrix 5 covers the entire inner side 2 of each functional area 6, 7, 8, 13. Preferably, in order to ensure a better retention, the adhesive matrix 5 is present on the entire active surface of the inner side 2.
The active ingredient comprises at least one active ingredient for application to the skin 4 of a user. Active ingredients refer to substances that have a therapeutic or cosmetic effect on the user.
The mask pack according to the present invention includes at least two different active components, each disposed at one functional region of the mask pack. According to one possibility, the mask comprises a number of active ingredients equal to the number of functional areas.
According to a preferred possibility, the active ingredient is mixed with the adhesive matrix. That is, the mask includes at least two different adhesive matrices due to the different active components included.
The backing 1 may be made of a variety of materials such as paper, plastic or water insoluble polymers, woven materials (e.g., woven fabrics) and non-woven materials (non-woven fabrics). The backing may comprise a "breathable" material such as, but not limited to, a layer of cotton or a non-woven synthetic fabric, such as the fabric materials commonly used in bandages and athletic bandages. The backing 1 is advantageously made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or Polyurethane (PU). Preferably, the backing 1 is a flexible film.
Preferably, the backing 1 has a thickness of 20 μm to 125 μm, preferably 80 μm.
The flexibility of the backing 1 allows it to conform to the area of body application to which it is applied.
Advantageously, the backing 1 comprises through openings 4 for the comfort of the user. Depending on the shape of the mask, the through opening is intended to be placed facing the eyes and/or the lips or the mouth and/or the nose. The through opening 4 is a hole formed in the backing 1 corresponding to the shape of the eye. For the lips, the opening 4 may be a hole formed in the backing 1 corresponding to the shape of the mouth, or simply a slit through the backing 1 to give the user the possibility of opening the mouth. For a nose, the opening 4 may be a hole formed in the backing 1 in the shape of a nose, or a slit or cut line 12, 14 passing through the backing 1 so that the tip of the nose can pass through.
According to the embodiment shown in fig. 3 and 4, the membrane comprises a plurality of discrete galvanic couples 11, each comprising a first conductive electrode as anode and a second conductive electrode as cathode. The galvanic couple 11 is arranged on the inner side 2 of the backing 1.
As used herein, generating electricity means that free electrons can pass through the skin between the first and second conductive electrodes to which the mask is applied. This free electron flow, in addition to having a dedicated effect on skin irritation, improves the migration of the active ingredient and, more precisely, the migration of the active ingredient to and through the skin.
The first metal of the anode and the second metal of the cathode of each couple are selected to have different standard potentials. In use, the skin provides electrical conductivity between the anode and the cathode, thus allowing micro-current to flow through the skin. In the case of forming the anode using zinc as the first metal and the cathode using silver chloride as the second metal, a micro current of about 40mA can be generated.
Advantageously, the first metal is configured to oxidize upon contact with the skin, thereby creating an electrical coupling with the second metal.
Examples of materials that provide a galvanic couple include, but are not limited to: zinc silver, zinc silver oxide, zinc silver halide, zinc silver chloride, zinc silver bromide, zinc silver iodide, and zinc silver fluoride.
Advantageously, the mask is passive, i.e. it does not include or is not connected to an external power source. The current flowing between the electrodes of the galvanic couple 11 is locally self-generated.
The conductive electrode may be applied to the backing 1 using any suitable deposition technique known in the art. For example, one or both of the first and second conductive electrodes may be a metal sheet, wire or mesh, or a metal coated fabric or other material, such as a fabric coated with a metal and its oxides, halides and sulfides.
Alternatively, the first and second conductive electrodes may be disposed on the backing 1 using chemical or electrochemical deposition, such as autocatalytic plating for chemical deposition and electrolytic deposition for electrochemical deposition as known in the art. The first and second conductive electrodes may also be provided on the backing 1 by physical deposition, for example by screen printing, sputtering, rotogravure printing, laser printing, pad printing, pin printing, dipping, vacuum deposition or other printing or transfer methods.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the conductive electrode may be produced by formulating the electroplating material in a material deposition method specific ink, for example a screen printing ink for screen printing or a laser jet printing ink for laser printing, and may contain components such as solvents, binders or plasticizers.
The size of the galvanic couple 11 used in the mask according to the present invention may depend on the specific application. In embodiments suitable for cosmetic use in a mask, the galvanic couple typically occupies a surface area of no more than about 4cm 2. In order to be suitable for use in, for example, a human face, the metal elements forming the galvanic couple typically have a non-square shape. These shapes may be oval or other shapes suitable for the particular skin surface to which the mask is applied.
In another embodiment, each galvanic couple 11 occupies a surface area of no more than about 2cm2, for example no more than 1cm 2. The overall size of each galvanic couple can vary from about 0.01cm2 to about 10cm 2.
The galvanic couples 11 can be arranged in many ways as long as they are separated from each other, i.e. the individual galvanic couples are disconnected and do not touch each other. The galvanic couple may be arranged as desired to increase or decrease the electrical density.
The binder matrix 5, which advantageously contains the active component, does not cover the first metal of the galvanic couple, in order to avoid its oxidation before use. Advantageously, at least the first metal is in contact with the skin.
According to an advantageous possibility, the periphery of the backing 1 is provided with a plurality of incisions 9, which incisions 9 have the shape of, for example, indentations. These incisions 9 are adapted to partially bend the backing 1, thereby improving the contact of the backing 1 with the skin of the user.
The mask according to the invention may comprise a removable, detachable coating to cover the backing 1, and in particular the adhesive matrix 5, before use of the mask. The release liner is typically a polymeric sheet or a polymer coated paper or fabric that has low adhesion to the adhesive substrate used so that it can be easily removed prior to use without damaging the care mask. Examples of polymers commonly used for removable coatings are silicone and polyethylene.
According to a variant of the invention, the manufacturing method comprises a single step for the deposition of the adhesive matrix 5 of the plurality of functional areas.
The manufacturing method optionally comprises, before the step of depositing the adhesive matrix 5, a step of forming the galvanic couples 11. The galvanic couple 11 is formed on the inner side 2 of the backing 1. The formation of the galvanic couple 11 is advantageously achieved by the method described above. Preferably, the galvanic couple 11 is formed by printing with a conductive ink, in particular by screen printing.
According to a first possibility, the deposition of the adhesive matrix 5 is carried out by digital printing. According to a second preferred possibility, the deposition is carried out by screen printing. This type of deposition has advantages in terms of speed and cost.
The step of depositing the adhesive matrix 5 by screen printing comprises applying a screen-printed frame 19 onto the backing 11 of the mask, the screen-printed frame 19 being provided with at least one partition 25 for partitioning the functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13 of the mask. The step of depositing the adhesive matrix 5 then comprises applying the adhesive matrix 5 mixed with the active component advantageously simultaneously on each functional area 6, 7, 8, 13. Advantageously, the scraper 23, which is complementary in shape to the frame 19 and to the partition 25, allows the adhesive matrix 5 comprising the active component to be applied simultaneously on the different functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13 of the mask.
This manufacturing method is particularly effective because it allows to produce a mask comprising a plurality of functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13 according to the invention by means of a single screen printing step. The manufacturing time is greatly reduced. Furthermore, the simultaneous application of the adhesive matrix 5 of the different functional areas 6, 7, 8, 13 allows avoiding any risk of the adhesive matrix 5 adhering to any continuous screen conventionally used in screen printing methods.
According to this variant of the invention, a device for carrying out a screen printing method is provided. The apparatus comprises an advantageous screen printing frame 19 of parallelepiped shape. The frame has four parallel and pairwise opposite edges. The apparatus comprises a wire mesh (not shown) stretched in a frame 19. The screen includes blank areas and solid areas in the template image. The screen advantageously has blank and solid areas complementary to the shape of the mask. For example, the solid areas correspond to the through openings 4 and/or galvanic couples 11 of the mask, so that the applied adhesive matrix 5 does not cover these areas. Preferably, the screen defines the active surface of the mask. The frame 19 comprises recesses 20 arranged on the inner sides 22 of two opposite sides 21 of the frame 19 for receiving the separating elements 25. The recesses 21 are distributed on mutually opposite inner sides 22 of two opposite sides 21 of the frame 19. The recesses 20 are parallel to each other and extend transversely to the side faces 21 on which they are formed. The divider 25 is a removable element, sufficiently rigid not to be deformed by the scraper 23, and is intended to be arranged transversely to the two sides 21 of the receiving recess 20 and parallel to each other. The scraper 23 comprises a notch 24 for cooperation with a partition 25. The distance between the notches 20 corresponds to the distance between two partitions 25 or the distance between a partition 25 and one side of the frame 19. Said distance corresponds to the width of the functional area 6, 7, 8, 13. Fig. 8 shows a device according to this variant of the invention.
In fig. 1, a mask pack according to a first embodiment is shown. The mask is intended to cover a substantial portion of the face of a user.
