The invention discloses a novel intelligent exterior rearview mirror, which comprises a left exterior rearview mirror, a right exterior rearview mirror and a control module, wherein the left exterior rearview mirror and the right exterior rearview mirror are electrically connected with the control module, and the control module is in communication connection with a vehicle-mounted controller; the control module comprises a data acquisition unit, a data processing unit and an execution unit, wherein the data acquisition unit acquires steering wheel corner signals of the vehicle steering lamp annunciator in real time and sends the steering wheel corner signals to the data processing unit, the data processing unit judges the steering requirements of the vehicle according to the steering lamp signals and the steering wheel corners and calculates the required turnover compensation angle corresponding to the outer rearview mirror, and the execution unit controls the corresponding outer rearview mirror to turn, maintain the angle and reversely rotate according to the calculation result of the data processing unit. The invention realizes automatic adjustment of the visual field range under the working conditions that the vehicle driving postures such as vehicle starting, lane changing and steering form a certain angle with the front road and the rear road. The invention also discloses a control method of the novel intelligent external rearview mirror.
