In this embodiment, if the user selects the tab corresponding to the preset installation directory, or selects one or more application programs in the preset installation directory, the terminal device may download and install the corresponding application program installation package according to the preset installation directory after the factory setting is restored, that is, the terminal device does not store the program installation package of the one or more application programs selected by the user; or acquiring the application program installation package corresponding to the preset installation catalog, and then installing the application program installation package, namely the terminal equipment stores the program installation package of one or more application programs selected by the user, and the application program is directly installed according to the application program installation package after the terminal equipment recovers the factory setting.

In this embodiment, after the terminal device recovers the factory setting, the terminal device may generate a new application program use list according to the currently installed application program, and after the new application program use list is generated, in the process of subsequently installing and uninstalling the application program by the user, addition and deletion operations may be performed according to the operation type of the user.
In this embodiment, after the terminal device recovers the factory setting, the terminal device may further generate a new preset installation directory according to the currently installed application program, where the new preset installation directory is not changed along with the operation of installing and uninstalling the application program by the user. If the user performs factory reset operation on the terminal equipment again, the new preset installation directory can be updated again according to the application program after factory reset.

2. The application installation method of claim 1, wherein prior to the step of displaying an application selection interface, the application installation method further comprises:
scanning a preset installation catalog of a terminal;
and generating the application program selection interface according to the preset installation catalog.
3. The application installation method of claim 2, wherein after the step of downloading the application selected through the application interface, the application installation method further comprises:
and generating an application program use list according to the selected application program.
4. The application installation method of claim 3, wherein after the step of downloading the application selected through the application interface, the application installation method further comprises:
and when an instruction for restoring factory settings of the terminal is detected, installing the application program according to the preset installation catalog and/or the application program use list.
5. The application installation method of claim 4, wherein the step of installing the application according to the application usage list comprises:
