The invention discloses an energy-saving gas water heater, which comprises a water heater singlechip, wherein a water inlet pipe of the water heater is provided with a flow switch, the flow switch is connected with the water heater singlechip, and the water heater singlechip enters dormancy or awakens according to a switch signal of the flow switch; when the water flow switch is turned on for use, the flow switch acts to send a switching value signal to the water heater single chip microcomputer, and the water heater single chip microcomputer is awakened to enable the water heater to start working; when no water flows through, the singlechip of the water heater enters a dormant state, and no power is consumed, so that electric energy is saved.

When the water flow switch is turned on for use, the flow switch 2 acts to send a switching value signal to the water heater single chip microcomputer 1, and the water heater single chip microcomputer 1 is awakened to enable the water heater 3 to start working; when no water flows through, the water heater single chip microcomputer 1 enters a dormant state, no power is consumed, and therefore electric energy is saved.
