The invention discloses a protection system for preventing a gas stove from being ignited for a long time, which is characterized in that a microswitch, a timer, a pressure releasing module when being pressed, a first gas stove electromagnetic valve, an energy selection switch, a battery and a thermocouple are added in the conventional gas stove system; the timer is used for outputting a signal to the energy selection switch after receiving a trigger signal of the microswitch; the pressing-releasing module is linked with the ignition button, when the ignition button is pressed down, the pressing-releasing module presses an extension rod of the first gas stove electromagnetic valve, when the ignition button is pressed to a stroke stop position, the pressing-releasing module releases the pressure of the first gas stove electromagnetic valve, and the extension rod of the first gas stove electromagnetic valve is not restrained any more; the energy selection switch is used for driving the electromagnetic valve of the first gas stove by using energy provided by a battery or a thermocouple. The invention realizes the protection of the ignition action of the gas stove through the targeted design of the ignition system of the gas stove.
