In order to realize reliability of unicast or multicast communication of the direct communication interface, it is necessary to require that a radio access technology used when a transmitting terminal of the direct communication interface transmits data is supportable by a receiving terminal.
In the prior art, a direct communication interface between terminals multiplexes a broadcast mechanism of the direct communication interface when performing unicast communication, and there is no related mechanism that can determine an RAT used for unicast or multicast between the terminals performing direct communication, and it cannot be guaranteed that the same radio access technology is used when data is transmitted and received between a unicast transmitting terminal and a unicast receiving terminal.

All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
Some of the words that appear in the text are explained below:
1. the terminal referred in the embodiment of the invention is a mobile phone, a platform and the like.
2. The network side equipment referred by the embodiment of the invention is a macro base station, a micro base station and the like.
3. "and/or" describes the association relationship of the associated objects, meaning that there may be three relationships, e.g., a and/or B, which may mean: a exists alone, A and B exist simultaneously, and B exists alone. The character "/" generally indicates that the former and latter associated objects are in an "or" relationship.

As shown in fig. 1, a method and apparatus for direct communication according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a management device 10 and a first transmission terminal 20.
A management device 10, configured to determine RAT information supported by a sending terminal and a receiving terminal that need to perform direct communication in a communication group; and determining the RAT used by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal for direct communication according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal, so that the sending terminal and the receiving terminal use the same RAT for direct communication.
The first transmission terminal 20 is configured to report RAT information supported by the first transmission terminal to the management device; receiving the RAT determined by the management device and used for direct communication between the first transmission terminal and a second transmission terminal; and performing direct communication with the second transmission terminal according to the RAT.
Through the scheme, the management device determines the common RAT (radio access technology) supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal which need to be in direct communication in the communication group for direct communication, so that the sending terminal and the receiving terminal use the same RAT for direct communication.
The communication group here is a group of terminals that perform communication between the terminals.
If the first transmission terminal is a sending terminal, the second transmission terminal is a receiving terminal; or
If the first transmission terminal is a receiving terminal, the second transmission terminal is a sending terminal.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the management device includes the following types:
the management device is the sending terminal or the receiving terminal; or the management equipment is head equipment of a communication group; or the management device is a network side device.
That is, the present invention provides four specific embodiments of direct communication, which are described below:
the first scheme is as follows: the management apparatus is a transmission terminal of direct communication.
Taking a sending terminal in direct communication as a management device as an example:
the sending terminal and the receiving terminal which need to carry out direct communication in the communication group determine RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal through self capability information, the receiving terminal needs to report the RAT information supported by the receiving terminal to the sending terminal, the sending terminal determines the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication, and the RAT is the RAT supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal together.
There are various ways for the receiving terminal to report the RAT information supported by itself to the sending terminal, which are illustrated below:
the reporting mode is as follows: reporting the RAT information through an opposite end discovery process;
and the receiving terminal reports the RAT information to the sending terminal through an opposite terminal discovery process.
Correspondingly, the sending terminal also obtains the RAT information reported by the receiving terminal through an opposite terminal discovery process.
And a second reporting mode: reporting the RAT information through a unicast connection establishment process;
and the receiving terminal reports the RAT information to the sending terminal through a unicast connection process.
Correspondingly, the sending terminal also obtains the RAT information reported by the receiving terminal through a unicast connection process.
And a third reporting mode: reporting the RAT information through a UE capability reporting process;
and the receiving terminal reports the RAT information to the sending terminal through a UE capacity reporting process.
Correspondingly, the sending terminal also determines the RAT information of the receiving terminal according to the UE capability information reported by the receiving terminal.
And a reporting mode is four: and reporting the RAT information independently.
And the receiving terminal reports the RAT information to the sending terminal through an independent reporting process.
Correspondingly, the sending terminal obtains the RAT information reported by the receiving terminal independently.
And a fifth reporting mode: if the sending terminal is a group head device in the communication group, the receiving terminal can report the RAT information through a group joining process.
And the receiving terminal reports the RAT information to the sending terminal through a group joining process.
Correspondingly, the sending terminal acquires the RAT information reported in the joining process of the receiving terminal group.
The sending terminal determines RAT information supported by the sending terminal through self capability information, and after the RAT information reported by the receiving terminal is acquired, the RAT supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal is determined according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal, and one RAT which is used for direct communication between the sending terminal and the receiving terminal is selected from the RAT supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal.
If a sending terminal and a receiving terminal exist in the communication group, unicast communication is used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication, and the sending terminal determines the RAT commonly supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the RAT information reported by the receiving terminal;
if a sending terminal in a communication group has a plurality of receiving terminals, the sending terminal determines to use multicast communication when performing direct communication with the receiving terminals in the communication group, and the sending terminal determines the RAT supported by the sending terminal and all the receiving terminals according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the RAT information reported by all the receiving terminals in the communication group;
the following describes a procedure for determining RATs commonly supported by the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal for a specific communication scenario.
Communication scenario 1: the number of terminals in the communication group is equal to 2;
the number of terminals in the communication group is equal to 2, unicast communication is used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication, and the management equipment determines the RAT commonly supported by the sending terminal carrying out the direct communication and the receiving terminal carrying out the direct communication.
For example, when the terminals performing direct communication in the communication group include the transmitting terminal a and the receiving terminal B, the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal use unicast communication. The transmitting terminal a is a management device, the transmitting terminal a only supports the LTE radio access technology, and the receiving terminal B can support either the LTE or the NR radio access technology.
The transmitting terminal a determines that the intersection of the RATs supported by itself and the receiving terminal B includes only NR radio access technologies. The transmitting terminal A determines that the RAT used for direct communication between itself and the receiving terminal is NR.
Communication scenario 2: the number of terminals in the communication group is more than 2;
the number of terminals in the communication group is more than 2, the sending terminal and the receiving terminal use multicast communication when performing direct communication, and the management device determines the RAT commonly supported by the sending terminal and all the receiving terminals performing direct communication in the communication group.
For example, the terminals in the communication group that perform direct communication include a transmitting terminal a, a receiving terminal B, and a receiving terminal C. The sending terminal A is management equipment, and only supports the LTE wireless access technology; the receiving terminal B supports both LTE wireless access technology and NR wireless access technology; the receiving terminal C supports only LTE radio access technology.
The transmitting terminal a determines that the RAT commonly supported by itself, the receiving terminal B, and the receiving terminal C only includes the NR radio access technology, and the RAT used for the direct communication between the transmitting terminal a and the receiving terminal B and the receiving terminal C is the LTE radio access technology.
The present invention provides a possible embodiment, if multicast communication is used between terminals, there is no RAT commonly supported between terminals in a communication group, and if the management device is a sending terminal, the sending terminal may directly communicate with a receiving terminal through unicast communication, and the specific implementation steps may join the first communication scenario, which is not described herein again.
In the embodiment of the present invention, if the RAT capabilities supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal in direct communication are not consistent but have an intersection, the management device determines that the RAT used by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal in direct communication can only be selected in the intersection.
If the RAT supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal is only one, the sending terminal determines that the RAT supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal is used as the RAT used for direct communication between the sending terminal and the receiving terminal.
If there are multiple RATs commonly supported by the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal, the transmitting terminal is used as a management device to select one RAT from the commonly supported RATs as the RAT used for direct communication between the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal.
The specific selection modes are various, and are described as follows:
the selection mode is as follows: the management device fixedly selects one RAT from the commonly supported RATs;
the management device may fixedly select one of the RATs in the intersection, for example, the management device may select, in a fixed manner, the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal perform direct communication in the RAT intersection according to the priority of the RAT. For example, the priority of the RAT is NR radio access technology, LTE radio access technology. The transmitting terminal fixedly selects NR in the intersection as the RAT used when the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication, and if no NR exists in the intersection, the transmitting terminal selects LTE as the RAT used when the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication.
And a second selection mode: the management equipment selects an RAT according to the direct communication interface load or the logic channel of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal;
the management equipment determines the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication according to the corresponding relation between the direct communication interface load and the RAT of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal; or
And the management equipment determines the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication according to the corresponding relation between the logical channel and the RAT of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal.
The relationship between the direct communication interface bearer and the corresponding RAT of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal and the relationship between the logical channel and the RAT can be determined by a higher layer in the terminal. Specifically, the higher layer refers to a protocol layer above an AS (Access Stratum), such AS a core network related protocol layer.
Taking the logical channel as an example:
for example, the RAT corresponding to the logical channel a of the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal is LTE radio access technology, and the RAT corresponding to the logical channel B is NR radio access technology.
The management node determines the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal perform direct communication according to the specific logical channels of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal.
The selection mode is three: the management equipment selects one RAT according to a data packet which is directly communicated by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal;
the management device may select a suitable RAT from the intersection based on the traffic characteristics of the direct communication, such as based on the QoS parameters.
Currently, there are two QoS parameters of the direct communication interface: PPPP (ProSe Priority Per Packet, Priority of each direct communication Packet) and PPPR (ProSe availability Per Packet, reliability of each direct communication Packet), which subsequently does not preclude the introduction of new QoS parameters, such as 5QI (5G QoS identifier) and the like.
When the management device aims to guarantee the QoS of the terminal, the management device may select the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal perform direct communication according to the correspondence relationship between the QoS parameter corresponding to the data packet and the RAT.
For example, if the Qos parameter corresponding to the data packet of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal is PPPP value 1, the RAT used for the corresponding direct communication is LTE radio access technology; when the PPPP value is 2, the RAT used by the corresponding direct communication interface is the NR radio access technology.
If the management device is the sending terminal and the receiving terminal do not have the common supported RAT, the sending terminal and the receiving terminal do not carry out direct communication;
for example, the terminals performing direct communication in the communication group include a transmitting terminal a and a receiving terminal B. The sending terminal A is management equipment, and only supports the LTE wireless access technology; the receiving terminal B supports only the NR radio access technology.
The sending terminal a determines that the sending terminal a and the receiving terminal B do not have the common supported RAT, and the sending terminal a and the receiving terminal B do not perform direct communication.
After the sending terminal determines the RAT used for direct communication between itself and the receiving terminal in the communication group that needs to perform direct communication through the selection method, the sending terminal also needs to notify the receiving terminal of the determined RAT used for direct communication of the receiving terminal.
There are various ways for the sending terminal to notify the receiving terminal of the determined RAT, which are exemplified as follows:
the first notification mode is as follows: notifying through the relevant information of the opposite terminal discovery process;
and the sending terminal carries the determined RAT in a relevant message of an opposite terminal discovery process so as to inform the receiving terminal.
Correspondingly, the receiving terminal determines the RAT used for the direct communication notified by the sending terminal by obtaining the relevant message of the opposite terminal discovery process.
And a second notification mode: establishing process related message notification through unicast connection;
and the sending terminal carries the determined RAT in a related message of a unicast connection establishment process so as to inform the receiving terminal.
Correspondingly, the receiving terminal determines the RAT used for the direct communication notified by the sending terminal by acquiring the relevant message of the unicast connection establishment process.
In implementation, if the number of the receiving terminals is 1, the sending terminal notifies the determined RAT to the receiving terminals in a point-to-point manner;
if the number of the receiving terminals is not less than 2, the sending terminal can also inform the determined RAT to the receiving terminals in a broadcasting mode.
As shown in fig. 2, a flow chart of a complete method of a system when a direct communication sending terminal is used as a management device provided for the implementation of the present invention includes:
step 200, the receiving terminal B, C reports the RAT information supported by itself to the sending terminal a;
step 201, the sending terminal a determines the RAT used for direct communication between itself and the receiving terminal B, C according to the RAT information reported by itself and the receiving terminal B, C;
in step 202, the transmitting terminal a notifies the receiving terminal B of the RAT used for the direct communication and notifies the receiving terminal C of the RAT used for the direct communication.
Scheme II: the management device is a receiving terminal of direct communication;
taking a receiving terminal of direct communication as a management device as an example:
the method comprises the steps that a sending terminal and a receiving terminal which need to be in direct communication in a communication group determine RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal through self capability information, the sending terminal needs to report the RAT information supported by the sending terminal to the receiving terminal, the receiving terminal determines the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal carry out direct communication, and the RAT is supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal together.
It should be noted that, in the first embodiment, a sending terminal of direct communication is taken as a management device, and a receiving terminal is taken as an opposite terminal of direct communication. When the reception of the direct communication is used as the management device in the second scheme, correspondingly, the opposite end of the direct communication in the second scheme is used as the sending terminal, and the specific execution manner of the management device and the opposite end of the direct communication in the direct communication process in the second scheme may refer to the specific execution manner of the management device and the opposite end of the direct communication in the first scheme, which is not described herein again.
The third scheme is as follows: the management equipment is head equipment of the communication group;
the group head device may be a transmitting terminal that performs direct communication or a receiving terminal that performs direct communication within a communication group or another terminal that does not perform direct communication.
The head-of-group device is a management terminal in the communication group, and when a terminal requests to join the communication group, the head-of-group device needs to report own capability information.
If the group head device serves as the management device, the specific execution manner of the management device may refer to the specific execution manner of the sending terminal in the first scheme and the receiving terminal in the second scheme, which is not described herein again.
It should be noted that, if the group head device is another terminal that does not perform direct communication, that is, if the management device is another terminal that does not perform direct communication, the management device needs to notify the sending terminal and the receiving terminal of the determined RAT used for performing direct communication between the sending terminal and the receiving terminal; and when the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal do not have the commonly supported RAT, the management device informs that the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal can not carry out direct communication.
Taking other terminals not performing direct communication in the communication group as management nodes, as shown in fig. 3, a flowchart of a complete method of the system when the group head device is taken as a management device according to the present invention is shown, where the group head device is a sending terminal a in the communication group, and the method includes:
step 300, a sending terminal A and a receiving terminal B report the RAT information supported by the sending terminal A and the receiving terminal B to the head-of-group equipment;
step 301, the group head device determines the RAT used for direct communication between the sending terminal a and the receiving terminal B according to the RAT information reported by the sending terminal a and the receiving terminal B;
step 302, the head of group device notifies the transmitting terminal a of the RAT used for the direct communication and notifies the receiving terminal B of the RAT used for the direct communication.
And the scheme is as follows: the management device is a network side device.
Taking a network side device as a management device as an example:
the method comprises the steps that a sending terminal and a receiving terminal which need to be in direct communication in a communication group determine RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal through capability information of the sending terminal and the receiving terminal, the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal needs to be reported to network layer equipment, the RAT used when the sending terminal and the receiving terminal conduct direct communication is determined by network side equipment, and the RAT is supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal together.
The manner in which the sending terminal and the receiving terminal report the RAT information supported by themselves to the network side device may refer to the third reporting manner and the fourth reporting manner of the receiving terminal in the first scheme, and details are not described here.
And after the network side equipment acquires the RAT information reported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal, determining the RATs supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal together according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal, and selecting one RAT from the commonly supported RATs as the RAT used for direct communication between the sending terminal and the receiving terminal.
The method for determining the RAT supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal by the network side device according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal may refer to an implementation manner of the management device in a specific communication scenario in the above-mentioned scheme, which is not described herein again.
It should be noted that, if the management device is the network-side device, and the sending terminal and the receiving terminal do not have a common supported RAT, the network-side device notifies that the sending terminal and the receiving terminal cannot perform direct communication.
The method for the network side device to select one RAT from the commonly supported RATs may also refer to a specific selection method of the management device in scheme one, which is not described herein again.
After the network side device determines RAT information used when a sending terminal and a receiving terminal which need to perform direct communication in a communication group perform direct communication through the selection method, the network side device also needs to notify the receiving terminal of the determined RAT used by the receiving terminal for direct communication and notify the sending terminal of the determined RAT used by the sending terminal for direct communication.
And the network side equipment informs the determined RAT used by the direct communication of the sending terminal to the sending terminal and informs the determined RAT used by the direct communication of the receiving terminal to the receiving terminal through RRC connection establishment or RRC connection reconfiguration information.
Correspondingly, the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal determine the RAT used when the transmitting terminal and the receiving terminal perform direct communication by acquiring the RRC connection establishment or the RRC connection reconfiguration message.
In implementation, if the number of the terminals is 2, the network side device notifies the receiving terminal and the sending terminal in a point-to-point manner;
if the number of the terminals is larger than 2, the sending terminal can also inform the sending terminal and the receiving terminal in a broadcasting mode.
As shown in fig. 4, a flowchart of a complete method of a system when a network-side device is used as a management device provided for the implementation of the present invention includes:
step 400, the sending terminal A and the receiving terminal B report the RAT information supported by the sending terminal A and the receiving terminal B to the network side equipment;
step 401, a network side device determines an RAT used for direct communication between a sending terminal a and a receiving terminal B according to RAT information reported by the sending terminal a and the receiving terminal B;
in step 402, the network side device notifies the transmitting terminal a of the RAT used for the direct communication and notifies the receiving terminal B of the RAT used for the direct communication.
Based on the same inventive concept, the embodiment of the present invention further provides a management device for direct communication, and since the device is the management device in the system for direct communication in the embodiment of the present invention, and the principle of the device to solve the problem is similar to that of the method, the implementation of the device may refer to the implementation of the method, and repeated details are omitted.
As shown in fig. 5, a first management device for direct communication according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a processor 500, a memory 501, and a transceiver 502;
the processor 500 is responsible for managing the bus architecture and general processing, and the memory 501 may store data used by the processor 500 in performing operations. The transceiver 502 is used to receive and transmit data under the control of the processor 500.
The bus architecture may include any number of interconnected buses and bridges, with one or more processors represented by processor 500 and various circuits of memory represented by memory 501 being linked together. The bus architecture may also link together various other circuits such as peripherals, voltage regulators, power management circuits, and the like, which are well known in the art, and therefore, will not be described any further herein. The bus interface provides an interface. The processor 500 is responsible for managing the bus architecture and general processing, and the memory 501 may store data used by the processor 500 in performing operations.
The processes disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention may be applied to the processor 500, or implemented by the processor 500. In implementation, the steps of the signal processing flow may be implemented by integrated logic circuits of hardware or instructions in the form of software in the processor 500. The processor 500 may be a general purpose processor, a digital signal processor, an application specific integrated circuit, a field programmable gate array or other programmable logic device, discrete gate or transistor logic, discrete hardware components, or any combination thereof that may implement or perform the methods, steps, and logic blocks disclosed in embodiments of the present invention. A general purpose processor may be a microprocessor or any conventional processor or the like. The steps of a method disclosed in connection with the embodiments of the present invention may be directly implemented by a hardware processor, or may be implemented by a combination of hardware and software modules in the processor. The software module may be located in ram, flash memory, rom, prom, or eprom, registers, etc. storage media as is well known in the art. The storage medium is located in the memory 501, and the processor 500 reads the information in the memory 501, and completes the steps of the signal processing flow in combination with the hardware thereof.
Specifically, the processor 500 is configured to read the program in the memory 501 and execute:
determining RAT information supported by a sending terminal and a receiving terminal which need to carry out direct communication in a communication group;
and determining the RAT used by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal for direct communication according to the RAT information supported by the sending terminal and the receiving terminal, so that the sending terminal and the receiving terminal use the same RAT for direct communication.
