Background
The high-carbon steel SWRH82B wire rod is a main raw material for producing PC steel wires and PC steel strands for a high-strength low-relaxation prestressed concrete structure, and during the drawing process, the wire rod is often broken by drawing due to the fact that central net-shaped cementite appears on the wire rod, so that the wire rod is extremely harmful to drawing. The central component segregation of the continuous casting billet is the main reason of generating martensite and network carbide at the center of the SWRH82B wire rod and generating conical fracture in the drawing process, and the carbon segregation causes the wire breakage in the drawing or stranding of the steel wire and can also reduce the mechanical property of the finished product. Carbon segregation is one of the ubiquitous internal quality defects of continuous casting slabs and is often difficult to eliminate in the subsequent rolling process, and the yield and the performance of the product are seriously influenced. The solute elements are redistributed in the solid-liquid phase, and the solute elements enriched along with solidification move to the center along with the solid-liquid phase interface and finally solidify to form segregation.
