Detailed Description
Hereinafter, a plurality of embodiments of the present invention will be described based on the drawings. Fig. 1 is a plan view showing an appearance of a writing instrument 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. The writing instrument 1 includes: a shaft tube 2 including a front shaft 20 and a rear shaft 30; and a clip 6 mounted to the rear shaft 30 of the barrel 2. In the following description, the front shaft 20 side is set as the front of the writing instrument 1 and the opposite rear shaft 30 side is set as the rear in the direction of the axis L in the longitudinal direction of the writing instrument 1.
The writing instrument 1 includes one mechanical pencil lead 3 and two ballpoint pen leads 4 (see fig. 2) as a plurality of writing bodies, and by relatively rotating the front shaft 20 and the rear shaft 30, one writing body can be sequentially projected from the tip opening 25 of the writing tip, which is a tapered portion of the front shaft 20, and a desired writing body can be selected and used.
As shown in fig. 2, the front shaft 20 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. The tip of the front shaft 20 is tapered, and a tip opening 25 is formed at the tip of the tip. A cylindrical fitting cylinder 21 is detachably inserted into the rear end opening of the front shaft 20. The insertion of the fitting cylinder 21 into the front shaft 20 is restricted by an abutment flange 21a formed annularly on the outer periphery of the central portion of the fitting cylinder 21 abutting against the rear end of the front shaft 20. A retainer tube portion 51a formed in a substantially tubular shape at the front portion of a guide member 51 described later is press-fitted and fixed into the rear end opening of the fitting tube 21. A guide portion 51b for guiding sliding of sliders 55 and 56, which will be described later, is formed at the rear portion of the guide member 51. The guide portion 51b is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape, and has three slide guides 51b1, 51b2, and 51b3 formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof as grooves extending in the axial direction. A slider 55 is slidably fitted to the slide guide 51b1, and the slider 55 is used to attach a holder 52 for holding the mechanical pencil lead 3. A slider 56 is slidably assembled to the slide guides 51b2 and 51b3, and the slider 56 is used to attach a holder 53 for holding the ballpoint pen refill 4.
As will be described later in detail, the rear end of the core tube 3a of the mechanical pencil lead 3 is pressed into the front end opening of the holder 52 holding the mechanical pencil lead 3. On the other hand, the holder 53 holding the ballpoint pen refill 4 is formed into a substantially rod shape, and a cylindrical joint 58 is fixed to a distal end portion thereof. The rear end of the ink tube of the ballpoint pen refill 4 is detachably pressed into the front end opening of the joint 58. Cam followers 55a and 56a that engage with a cam surface 54a of a rotary cam 54 described later are formed on the outer peripheral surfaces of the sliders 55 and 56 on the outer sides in the radial direction. Pressing springs 57 as compression coil springs are disposed between the rear surface of the retainer cylinder portion 51a of the guide member 51 and the sliders 55 and 56, respectively. The sliders 55 and 56 are constantly biased rearward by a pressing spring 57 and pressed against a cam surface 54a of the rotating cam 54 described later. Therefore, by the rotation of the rotating cam 54, the cam followers 55a, 56a of the sliders 55, 56 move in the axial direction following the cam surface 54a of the rotating cam 54, respectively. The mechanical pencil lead 3 and the ballpoint pen lead 4 attached to the sliders 55 and 56 are guided to move forward and backward by the slide guides 51b1, 51b2, and 51b3 of the guide member 51 in a state of being constantly biased rearward by the pressing spring 57, and are selectively moved forward and backward by the cam mechanism 50 as a writing body advancing and retracting mechanism as will be described later in detail.
The rotating cam 54 is formed in a cylindrical shape obtained by obliquely cutting the tip of a cylindrical member, and the inclined tip portion is disposed forward as a cam surface 54 a. Accordingly, the rotating cam 54 is formed in a substantially V shape in plan view. A notch, not shown, is formed at the tip of the rotary cam 54 and can be engaged with the top of the cam followers 55a, 56a formed in a substantially pentagonal shape of the sliders 55, 56. A guide member rotation support shaft 51c is formed at the rear end of the guide portion 51b of the guide member 51. The guide member rotation support shaft 51c has a shaft portion 51c1 and a retaining flange portion 51c2 formed in an umbrella shape at the rear end of the shaft portion 51c 1. An annular rib 54b projecting in an annular shape is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the rotating cam 54. The guide member rotation support shaft 51c is rotatably assembled to the annular rib 54b of the rotation cam 54. The rotating cam 54 is rotatable with respect to the guide member 51 in the circumferential direction around the axis L. The front surface of the flange portion 51c2 of the guide member rotation support shaft 51c abuts the rear surface of the annular rib 54b of the rotation cam 54, whereby the forward movement of the guide member 51 with respect to the rotation cam 54 is regulated.
A caulking portion 30a protruding toward the inner peripheral surface of the rear shaft 30 is formed near the rear end of the rear shaft 30. When the caulking portion 30a of the rear shaft 30 is engaged with the outer peripheral surface of the rotating cam 54, the rotating cam 54 is fixed to the rear shaft 30. A front portion of the substantially cylindrical erasing tool holder 31 is screwed to a rear end portion of the substantially cylindrical rotating cam 54 so as to penetrate through the base portion 6a of the annularly formed pen clip 6. A rubber as an erasing tool 32 is detachably inserted into a rear portion of the erasing tool holder 31. An external thread part is formed on the outer periphery of the rear part of the erasing tool holder 31, and a rear axle cap 33 is screwed. An O-ring 34 is disposed between the rear shaft cap 33 and the rear portion of the eraser holder 31, and prevents the screw connection between the rear shaft cap 33 and the eraser holder 31 from loosening.
The front end of the rear shaft 30 is press-fitted into the rear end opening of the cylindrical trim ring 35. The gap formed between the front end of the rear axle 30 and the rear end of the front axle 20 is covered by the trim ring 35. Further, a stroke for feeding the writing lead of the mechanical pencil lead 3 can be ensured by a gap formed between the front end of the rear shaft 30 and the rear end of the front shaft 20.
The cam mechanism 50 includes a guide member 51, a holder 52 for the mechanical pencil lead 3, a holder 53 for the ballpoint pen lead 4, a rotary cam 54, sliders 55 and 56, a pressing spring 57, and a joint 58. The rear shaft 30, the rotating cam 54, the erasing tool holder 31, and the rear shaft cover 33 are rotatable in the circumferential direction as a unit with respect to the guide member 51 and the fitting cylinder 21. The cam mechanism 50 can press the sliders 55, 56, which are connected to one of the selected plurality of writing bodies, so as to project forward.
The mechanical pencil lead 3 can have any known structure. The mechanical pencil lead 3 includes a cylindrical core tube 3a having a rear end mounted on the holder 52. A writing core feed mechanism 40 is attached to the front end portion of the core tube 3 a. Specifically, the rear portion of the collet coupler 41 is detachably press-fitted into the distal end opening of the core tube 3 a. A collet 42 is press-fitted and fixed to a front portion of the collet joint 41. An intermediate tube member 43 is disposed on the outer peripheries of the collet joint 41 and the collet 42 so as to be movable forward and backward relative to the collet joint 41. A collet ring 44 is disposed on the outer periphery of the large diameter portion of the collet 42 in front of the middle tube member 43. The forward movement of the collet ring 44 is restricted by the large diameter portion of the collet 42. A collet spring 45 is disposed on the outer periphery of the collet 42 between an annular step portion formed on the inner peripheral surface of the middle tubular member 43 and the tip of the collet joint 41. The middle tube member 43 and the clip ring 44 are biased forward by the clip spring 45. The rearward movement of the middle tube member 43 beyond a predetermined amount is restricted by the annular protrusion 41a formed on the outer periphery of the collet joint 41. A tip metal (tip portion) 46 having an annular step portion formed on the outer periphery is screwed to the front portion of the middle tubular member 43. A core breaker 47 for gripping the writing core W is incorporated in the tip end side of the tip metal 46.
In the mechanical pencil lead 3 configured as described above, when the rear end of the rear shaft 30 is pushed in a state where the cam follower 55a of the slider 55 engages with the front end of the cam surface 54a of the rotary cam 54, the outer peripheral step portion of the tip metal fitting 46 abuts against the inner edge of the front end opening 25 of the front shaft 20, the cartridge 42 and the cartridge ring 44 are disengaged from each other, the writing lead feeding mechanism 40 is operated, and the writing lead W is fed forward. The ballpoint pen refill 4 includes a known ballpoint pen tip 4a and an ink tube 4b, and a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
Next, the holder 52 will be described in detail with reference to fig. 3 to 5. The holder 52 includes a holder main body 521 formed in a columnar shape and an axially extending portion 522 formed in a substantially cylindrical shape. The holder main body 521 has a longitudinal central axis LH radially offset from the axis L by a predetermined amount. The on-axis extending portion 522 of the holder 52 extends on the axis L of the writing instrument 1. The retainer 52 has a radial extension between the central axis LH of the retainer body 521 and the axis L that extends radially by a predetermined amount. The inner peripheral surface of the axially extending portion 522 is configured such that the inner periphery of the rear portion is smaller than the inner periphery of the front portion. With this configuration, the mechanical pencil lead 3 can be assembled to the holder main body 521 so as to have a predetermined elasticity in the radial direction. Further, if the holder 52 itself has a predetermined elasticity in the radial direction, it is preferable that the other writing bodies push the tip of the mechanical pencil lead 3 out of the axis L when the plurality of writing bodies interfere with each other and operate on the axis L as described later in detail. Further, in order to facilitate the press-fitting of the mechanical pencil lead 3, a plurality of lead-in portions (lead-in slopes) 522a are formed at the boundary portion where the inner periphery of the axially extending portion 522 is reduced in diameter. The rear end of the core tube 3a of the mechanical pencil lead 3 is detachably press-fitted into the inner periphery of the axially extending portion 522. The axially extending portion 522 is assembled to the core tube 3a so as to cover the outer periphery of the core tube 3a, and therefore, the capacity in the core tube 3a can be sufficiently ensured. A cylindrical slider mounting shaft 553 is formed at the rear end of the holder body 521. The outer peripheral surface of the slider attachment shaft 553 of the holder 52 is detachably pressed into the front end opening of the slider 55.
As shown in fig. 2, the mechanical pencil lead 3 held by the axially extending portion 522 of the holder 52 is offset radially inward from the axis LH of the holder body 521 by a distance from the axis LH to the axis L, and extends on the axis L of the writing instrument 1. As shown in fig. 7, the holder main body 521 to which the holder 52 of the mechanical pencil lead 3 is assembled and the holder 53 to which the two ballpoint pen leads 4 are assembled are arranged to be shifted radially outward from the axis L. In this state, the holder main body 521 of the holder 52 couples the mechanical pencil lead 3 and the slider 55, and the holder 53 couples the ballpoint pen lead 4 and the slider 56. The sliders 55 and 56 are guided by slide guides 51b1, 51b2, and 51b3 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, offset from the center axis in the radial direction in the guide portion 51 b. As shown in fig. 9, the mechanical pencil lead 3 (writing lead feeding mechanism 40, core tube 3a) is disposed so as to be displaced radially inward from the axis line LH and extend substantially and constantly on the axis line L even if only the tip end thereof is pushed out from the axis line L by the ballpoint pen lead 4 as described later in detail.
In this way, the mechanical pencil lead 3 is arranged to extend substantially all the way along the axis L and to project along the axis L. Therefore, as compared with the case where the writing core W is disposed obliquely with respect to the axis L at the time of projection as in the conventional art, it is possible to reduce the problem that the writing core W breaks at the tip of the writing core feeding mechanism 40 or the like. In the present embodiment, the writing core W containing graphite as a coloring material is used, and in another embodiment, a colored writing core having relatively low strength is used, and the writing core is more preferably protruded along the axis L.
As described above, the holder 52 is configured to hold the mechanical pencil lead 3 (writing lead feeding mechanism 40) with a predetermined elasticity in the radial direction. In this way, it is preferable that the ballpoint pen refill 4 is configured to be able to push out at least the tip of the retracted automatic pen refill 3 from the axis L when any other ballpoint pen refill 4 than the automatic pen refill 3 is selected by the cam mechanism 50 and protrudes forward. With this configuration, the one writing body is arranged to extend substantially all the way on the axis, and the projecting stroke of the plurality of writing bodies is configured to be relatively short, so that the selected one writing body can be smoothly projected from the pen tip even when the plurality of writing bodies interfere with each other.
Further, as shown in fig. 6 and 8, the guide member 51 is preferably formed with a writing core supply passage 51d which is a hole penetrating in the front-rear direction on the axis L and which can supply the writing core W from behind. The writing lead supply path 51d, the axially extending portion 522 of the holder 52, and the mechanical pencil lead 3 are disposed coaxially with the axis L. Further, the mechanical pencil lead 3 has a rear end opening capable of feeding the writing lead W from behind. With this configuration, the rear end opening of the mechanical pencil lead 3 can be always arranged on the axis L. In this case, for example, even when the ballpoint pen refill 4 is caused to protrude from the pen tip, the writing core feed mechanism 40 and the writing core supply path 51d can be always communicated with each other. Therefore, the writing lead W can be always supplied from the rear of the writing instrument 1 to the mechanical pencil lead 3. In the present embodiment, when the rear axle cap 33 and the erasing tool holder 31 are removed, the additional writing core W can be supplied to the core tube 3a through the writing core supply path 51d at all times regardless of the protruding state of the writing body. When the rear end opening of the mechanical pencil lead 3 is disposed on the axis L of the writing instrument 1, the writing lead W can be easily supplied from the rear of the writing instrument 1. In another embodiment, when the writing lead is fed from the rear of the writing instrument, the rear end opening of the mechanical pencil lead, which is disposed offset in the radial direction from the axis L, may be temporarily disposed on the axis L.
Further, as shown in fig. 8, in the state where the mechanical pencil lead 3 is most retracted, the rear end opening of the axially extending portion 522 of the holder 52 is close to or brought into contact with the front surface of the bottom portion of the holder cylindrical portion 51a of the guide member 51, so that the additional writing lead W can be supplemented optimally.
In another embodiment, as in the modification shown in fig. 10, the axially extending portion 522-1 of the holder 52 may be inserted into the core tube 3a of the mechanical pencil lead 3. In this case, the mechanical pencil lead 3 can be held on the axis L so as to have further elasticity in any different radial direction.
As described above, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment, and can be implemented in various forms. For example, although the present embodiment is a writing instrument 1 in which one writing body is selected by relatively rotating the front shaft 20 and the rear shaft 30 by the cam mechanism 50 as the writing body advancing and retracting mechanism, the present invention is not limited to this, and a writing instrument including a slide-type writing body advancing and retracting mechanism including a plurality of sliders that connect the respective writing bodies via a holder, wherein at least a part of each slider protrudes radially outward from the shaft tube, and wherein one slider is manually protruded forward to perform a slide operation, whereby one writing body can be selected and protruded from the pen tip.
