Description

Terminal capability transmission method and related equipment
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method for transmitting terminal capabilities and a related device.
Background
In a plurality of terminal devices currently accessing a wireless communication network system, because different terminal devices have different hardware or software versions and different support capabilities, a communication network needs to know the capabilities of a terminal in order to better provide services for the terminal devices, so as to allocate network resources for the terminal devices.
Taking Carrier Aggregation (CA) capability of the terminal device as an example, the CA capability of the terminal device is reported to the communication network in the form of carrier combination and band combination, specifically, the terminal device includes capabilities such as the number of supported carriers, carrier bandwidth, sub-carrier spacing (SCS), multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layer number and the like for each band combination, and reports the CA capability to the communication network, and the communication network knows which frequency band combination the terminal device specifically supports, so that appropriate CA configuration information can be configured for the terminal device.
However, as more and more terminal devices are accessing the wireless communication network and more capabilities are supported by the terminal devices, each terminal device needs to report the capabilities to the access network device, and the access network device reports the capabilities to the core network device.

With reference to the first aspect, in a first possible implementation manner, the establishing, by an access network device, an RRC connection with a terminal device further includes: and the access network equipment receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal equipment through the RRC connection establishment completion message.
The capability of the terminal device is described by the capability information, and if the capability of the terminal device is defined by the capability identification information, the description of the capability can be simplified, and therefore, the capability of the terminal device can be represented by the capability identification information. After the capability of the terminal device is defined by the capability identification information, because the terminal device may be connected for the first time, or the terminal device may be re-accessed, and for the access network device, it needs to know whether the terminal device has a mechanism of the capability identification information, the terminal device needs to inform the access network device of a mechanism for reporting the supported capability identification information through the capability indication information, and specifically, the capability indication information can be carried in an RRC connection setup complete message in the process of establishing RRC connection between the access network device and the terminal device, so that network resources are saved, and the access network device receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal device through the RRC connection setup complete message.

The capability indication information is specifically capability identification information, the access network equipment sends an indication allowing sending the capability indication information to the terminal equipment through a system broadcast message or an RRC connection establishment message, if the terminal equipment supports a capability indication information reporting mechanism, the terminal equipment can complete sending the capability indication information through the RRC connection establishment according to the indication allowing sending the capability indication information, and the access network equipment receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal equipment through the RRC connection establishment completion message.
With reference to the second possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in a third possible implementation manner, the method further includes: and the access network equipment sends the capability identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message.
After the access network equipment receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal equipment through the RRC connection establishment completion message, the initial terminal equipment message is sent to the core network equipment, so that the network resource consumption of independently sending the capability identification information to the core network equipment is reduced, and the access network equipment can carry the capability identification information in the initial terminal equipment message when sending the initial terminal equipment message.
With reference to the third possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in a fourth possible implementation manner, the sending, by the access network device, the capability identification information to the core network device through the initial terminal device message includes:
when the access network equipment stores the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the access network equipment sends the capability identification information and capability storage indication information to the core network equipment through an initial terminal equipment message, wherein the capability storage indication information is used for indicating the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information of the access network equipment;
or the like, or, alternatively,
and when the access network equipment does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the access network equipment sends the capability identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message.
The access network equipment may know the capability of the terminal equipment, before sending the capability identification information to the core network equipment, the access network equipment may first judge whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and for different judgment results, when detecting the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, the access network equipment generates capability storage indication information for indicating the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, and sends the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information to the core network equipment through an initial terminal equipment message; when detecting that the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored in the access network equipment, the access network equipment sends the capacity identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message. If the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information exists, the core network device is not required to send the capability information, and the terminal device is not required to request the capability, so that the consumption of network resources can be further reduced.
With reference to the first possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in a fifth possible implementation manner, the capability indication information is capability identifier support information, and the method further includes: and the access network equipment determines the terminal equipment to support the reporting of the capacity identification information according to the capacity identification support information.
The capability indication information is specifically capability identification support information, when the terminal equipment receives an RRC connection establishment message, if the terminal equipment supports a capability identification information reporting mechanism, the terminal equipment can transmit the capability identification information through an RRC connection establishment completion message according to an indication that the capability indication information is allowed to be transmitted, the access network equipment receives the capability identification support information transmitted by the terminal equipment through the RRC connection establishment completion message, and the access network equipment determines that the terminal equipment supports capability identification information reporting according to the capability identification support information.
With reference to any one of the first aspect to the fifth possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in a sixth possible implementation manner, determining, by the access network device, whether to request the terminal device for the capability according to the context setup message includes:
when the context establishing message comprises the capability identification information of the terminal equipment and the corresponding capability information, the access network equipment determines not to request the capability from the terminal equipment;
or the like, or, alternatively,
when the context establishing message comprises the capability identification information of the terminal equipment and does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises indication information that the capability does not exist, the access network equipment determines to request the terminal equipment for the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information;
or the like, or, alternatively,
when the context establishment message does not include the capability identification information of the terminal device and the corresponding capability information, the access network device determines to request the terminal device for the capability identification information of the terminal device support capability.
After the access network equipment receives the context establishing message, if the context establishing message comprises the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the access network equipment determines that the capability does not need to be requested to the terminal equipment; if the context establishing message only comprises the capability identification information and does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises indication information without capability, the access network equipment can know that the core network equipment does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information according to the indication information without capability and determine that the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information needs to be requested to the terminal equipment; if the context establishing message does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the access network equipment determines that the capability identification information of the terminal equipment supporting capability needs to be requested from the terminal equipment.
With reference to the sixth possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in a seventh possible implementation manner, the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send capability identifier information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send the capability identifier information and corresponding capability information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send capability information corresponding to a specified capability identifier, where the specified capability identifier is a capability identifier in the capability identifier information.
If the access network device receives the context establishing message and only comprises the capability identification information, does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises indication information that the capability does not exist, and needs to request the terminal device for the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the capability request information sent by the access network device to the terminal device is used for indicating the terminal device to send the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, and it needs to be stated that when the capability identification information comprises the specified capability identification, the capability request information is used for indicating the terminal device to send the capability information corresponding to the specified capability identification; if the access network device receives the context establishing message and does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the access network device determines that the terminal device needs to be requested for the capability identification information of the terminal device supporting capability, and the capability request information is used for indicating the terminal device to send the capability identification information.
With reference to the seventh possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in an eighth possible implementation manner, the capability identification information is used to indicate a capability set supported by one terminal device, or the capability identification information includes at least two capability identifications, and each capability identification corresponds to a subset of the capability set supported by the terminal device.

With reference to the eighth possible implementation manner of the first aspect, in a ninth possible implementation manner, the method further includes: when a connection interface is established between the access network equipment and the target access network equipment, the access network equipment sends the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information of the terminal equipment to the target access network equipment; when the access network equipment and the target access network equipment carry out switching of the terminal equipment, the access network equipment sends a switching instruction to the target access network equipment, wherein the switching instruction comprises the capacity identification information of the terminal equipment, so that the target access network equipment determines the capacity of the terminal equipment according to the switching instruction.
In the current wireless communication network, all access network devices are connected with each other through an X2 interface to form a mesh network, an X2 interface supports direct transmission of data and signaling, the access network devices can send capability identification information of a terminal device and corresponding capability information to a target access network device, when the access network devices and the target access network devices perform switching of the terminal device, the access network devices send a switching instruction to the target access network devices, because the target access network devices already acquire the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal device sent by the access network devices when the X2 interface is connected, the target access network devices only need to carry the capability identification information of the terminal device in the switching instruction, and the target access network devices can determine the capability of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information. Compared with the current switching, only the transmission capability identification information is needed, but the transmission capability information is not needed, so that the network resource consumption of the terminal equipment during switching is obviously reduced.

If the access network device receives the context establishing message and only comprises the capability identification information, and does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises indication information that the capability does not exist, the access network device needs to request the terminal device for the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the capability request information is used for indicating the terminal device to send the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, and it needs to be stated that the capability request information is used for indicating the terminal device to send the capability information corresponding to the specified capability identification when the capability identification information comprises the specified capability identification; if the access network equipment receives the context establishing message and does not comprise the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the capability request information is used for indicating the terminal equipment to send the capability identification information.
With reference to the fourth possible implementation manner of the fifth aspect, in a fifth possible implementation manner, the sending, by the terminal device, the capability feedback information to the access network device according to the capability request information includes:

The terminal device feeds back the capability request information according to the access network device, and may only have the capability identification information or the capability information corresponding to the specified capability identification, instead of the capability information of the capability set of the terminal device, thereby reducing the waste of network resources.
With reference to the fifth possible implementation manner of the fifth aspect, in a sixth possible implementation manner, the capability identification information is used to indicate a capability set supported by one terminal device, or the capability identification information includes at least two capability identifications, and each capability identification corresponds to a subset of the capability set supported by the terminal device.
If the terminal device supports multiple capabilities, the capability identification information may indicate a set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, or the capability identification information may be a capability identification list including at least two capability identifications, one capability identification corresponding to a subset of the set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, for example, capability 1, capability 2, and capability 3 in the set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, and the capability identification information may be (ID1, ID2, ID3), where ID1 corresponds to capability 1, ID2 corresponds to capability 2, and ID3 corresponds to capability 3, or the capability identification information may be (ID4, ID5), where ID4 corresponds to a subset of the set of capabilities, where the subset includes capability 1 and capability 2, and ID5 corresponds to capability 3.
A sixth aspect of the present application provides a method for transmitting terminal capability, including: the terminal equipment and the access network equipment establish RRC connection; after the terminal device establishes RRC connection with the access network device, when the access network device determines that the capability request is not required through a context establishment message sent by the core network device, the terminal device does not receive the capability request message sent by the access network device. A sixth aspect corresponds to the second and fourth aspects, and the reason why the terminal device does not receive the capability request information sent by the access network device is that the terminal device does not need to send capability feedback information to the access network device according to the capability request information because the access network device has already obtained the capability of the terminal device.

The capability of the terminal device is described by the capability information, and if the capability of the terminal device is defined by the capability identification information, the description of the capability can be simplified, and therefore, the capability of the terminal device can be represented by the capability identification information. After the capability of the terminal device is defined by the capability identification information, because the terminal device may be connected for the first time, or the terminal device may be re-accessed, and for the access network device, it needs to know whether the terminal device has a mechanism of the capability identification information, the terminal device needs to inform the access network device of a mechanism for reporting the supported capability identification information through the capability indication information, and specifically, the capability indication information can be carried in an RRC connection setup complete message in the process of establishing RRC connection between the access network device and the terminal device, so that network resources are saved, and the receiving module receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal device through the RRC connection setup complete message.

After the receiving module receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal equipment through the RRC connection establishment completion message, the sending module sends the initial terminal equipment message to the core network equipment, so that the network resource consumption of independently sending the capability identification information to the core network equipment is reduced, and the access network equipment can carry the capability identification information in the initial terminal equipment message when sending the initial terminal equipment message.
With reference to the third possible implementation manner of the seventh aspect, in a fourth possible implementation manner,
the sending module is further configured to send the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information to the core network device through an initial terminal device message when the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information exists, where the capability storage indication information is used to indicate the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information of the access network device;
or the like, or, alternatively,
and the sending module is also used for sending the capability identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message when the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored.
The access network equipment may know the capability of the terminal equipment, before sending the capability identification information to the core network equipment, the access network equipment may first judge whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and when detecting the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, aiming at different judgment results, the sending module generates capability storage indication information for indicating the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, and sends the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information to the core network equipment through an initial terminal equipment message; when detecting that the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored in the sending module, the sending module sends the capacity identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message. If the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information exists, the core network device is not required to send the capability information, and the terminal device is not required to request the capability, so that the consumption of network resources can be further reduced.
With reference to the first possible implementation manner of the seventh aspect, in a sixth possible implementation manner, the capability indication information is capability identification support information,
and the processing module is also used for determining the reporting of the terminal equipment support capacity identification information according to the capacity identification support information.

With reference to any one of the seventh to the fifth possible implementation manners of the seventh aspect, in a sixth possible implementation manner,
the processing module is further used for determining not to request the terminal equipment for the capability when the context establishing message comprises the capability identification information of the terminal equipment and the corresponding capability information;

or the like, or, alternatively,
and the processing module is further used for determining the capability identification information for requesting the terminal equipment to support the capability from the terminal equipment when the context establishment message does not include the capability identification information of the terminal equipment and the corresponding capability information.
After the receiving module receives the context establishing message, if the context establishing message comprises the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the processing module determines that the capability does not need to be requested to the terminal equipment; if the context establishing message only comprises the capability identification information and does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises indication information without capability, the processing module can know that the core network equipment does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information according to the indication information without capability, and the processing module determines that the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information needs to be requested to the terminal equipment; if the context setup message does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the processing module determines that the capability identification information of the terminal device support capability needs to be requested from the terminal device.
With reference to the sixth possible implementation manner of the seventh aspect, in a seventh possible implementation manner, the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send capability identification information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send the capability identification information and corresponding capability information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send capability information corresponding to a specified capability identification, where the specified capability identification is a capability identification in the capability identification information.
With reference to the seventh possible implementation manner of the seventh aspect, in an eighth possible implementation manner, the capability identification information is used to indicate a capability set supported by one terminal device, or the capability identification information includes at least two capability identifications, and each capability identification corresponds to a subset of the capability set supported by the terminal device.
With reference to the eighth possible implementation manner of the seventh aspect, in a ninth possible implementation manner,
the sending module is also used for sending the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal equipment to the target access network equipment when a connection interface is established between the sending module and the target access network equipment;
the sending module is further configured to send a switching instruction to the target access network device when the terminal device is switched with the target access network device, where the switching instruction includes capability identification information of the terminal device, so that the target access network device determines the capability of the terminal device according to the switching instruction.
In the current wireless communication network, all access network devices are connected with each other through an X2 interface to form a mesh network, an X2 interface supports direct transmission of data and signaling, the access network devices can send capability identification information of a terminal device and corresponding capability information to a target access network device, when the access network devices and the target access network devices perform switching of the terminal device, a sending module sends a switching instruction to the target access network device, because the target access network device already acquires the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal device sent by the access network device when the X2 interface is connected, the target access network device only needs to carry the capability identification information of the terminal device in the switching instruction, and the target access network device can determine the capability of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information. Compared with the current switching, only the transmission capability identification information is needed, but the transmission capability information is not needed, so that the network resource consumption of the terminal equipment during switching is obviously reduced.
An eighth aspect of the present application provides a core network device, including:

and the sending module is used for sending the context establishing message generated by the processing module to the access network equipment, and the context establishing message is used for the access network equipment to determine whether to send the capability request information to the terminal equipment.
When an access network device establishes RRC connection with a terminal device, if communication between the terminal device and the access network device is to be realized, context establishment is required to be carried out firstly, the context establishment refers to establishment of a context session for information transmission between the access network device and the terminal device, the establishment process of the context session is a bearer establishment process comprising a signaling bearer and a data bearer, signaling interaction can be carried out after the signaling bearer is established, a data packet can be sent/received after the data bearer is established, the context establishment is initiated by the access network device, a processing module generates a context establishment message of the terminal device, network resources can be better distributed to the terminal device only if the capability information of the terminal device is known, and if the capability information of the terminal device stored in a core network device needs to be sent to the access network device, the access network equipment also knows the capability of the terminal equipment, so that the access network equipment and the terminal equipment can communicate, and in order to save network resource waste caused when the sending module sends the capability information to the access network equipment independently, a corresponding capability information field can be added in the context establishing message to carry the capability information; if the core network device does not store the capability information, the capability information field in the context establishment message may be set to null, or set to field content indicating that the core network device does not have the capability information of the terminal device, or the context establishment message carries information indicating that the access network device acquires the capability from the terminal device. Therefore, the core network device needs to acquire the capability from the terminal device only when the core network device does not know the capability of the terminal device, and can inform the access network device through the context establishment message under the condition that the core network device knows the capability of the terminal device, so that the network resource consumption of the transmission capability is saved.
With reference to the eighth aspect, in a first possible implementation manner, the core network device further includes: a receiving module;
and the receiving module is used for receiving the initial terminal equipment message sent by the access network equipment.
Before the core network device and the terminal device perform context establishment, the receiving module must send the initial terminal device message to the core network device, and the core network device can determine the terminal device that needs the context establishment according to the initial terminal device message, so that the core network device receives the initial terminal device message sent by the access network device.
With reference to the first possible implementation manner of the fifth aspect, in a second possible implementation manner,

or the like, or, alternatively,
the processing module is further used for generating a context establishing message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information when the capability identification information is stored and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored;
or the like, or, alternatively,
the processing module is further used for generating indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist when the capability identification information is stored and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored, and generating a context establishing message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist;
or the like, or, alternatively,
and the processing module is further used for generating a context establishing message of the terminal equipment when the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information are not stored.
After the receiving module receives an initial terminal device message, determining a terminal device according to the initial terminal device message, determining whether the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information of the terminal device are stored or not by the processing module, and generating a context establishing message according to the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information by the processing module when the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information are stored; when the capacity identification information is stored and the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored, the processing module generates a context establishing message according to the capacity identification information; when the capacity identification information is stored and the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored, the processing module generates indication information that the capacity corresponding to the capacity identification information does not exist, and generates a context establishing message according to the capacity identification information and the indication information that the capacity does not exist; when the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information are not stored, the processing module generates a context setup message. The access network equipment obtains the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal equipment according to the context establishing message, and the capability does not need to be requested to the terminal equipment; and according to the context establishing message, if the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal equipment is not obtained, the capability request information needs to be sent to the terminal equipment, and the access network equipment obtains the capability of the terminal equipment through the capability feedback information fed back by the terminal equipment.
With reference to the first possible implementation manner of the eighth aspect, in a third possible implementation manner, the initial terminal device message includes capability identification information,

or the like, or, alternatively,
and the processing module is further used for generating indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist when the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored, and generating a context establishing message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist.
When the receiving module receives an initial terminal device message and contains capability identification information, the processing module determines the terminal device according to the initial terminal device message, the processing module determines whether the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information of the terminal device are stored, and when the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is stored, the processing module generates a context establishing message according to the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information; when the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored, the processing module generates indication information that the capacity corresponding to the capacity identification information does not exist, and generates a context establishing message according to the capacity identification information and the indication information that the capacity does not exist.
With reference to the first possible implementation manner of the eighth aspect, in a fourth possible implementation manner, the initial terminal device message includes capability identification information and capability storage indication information, where the capability storage indication information is used to indicate that the access network device stores capability information corresponding to the capability identification information,

the processing module is further used for determining the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information of the access network equipment according to the capability storage indication information;
the processing module is further used for generating a context establishing message of the terminal equipment when the capability information corresponding to the energy identification information is stored, wherein the context establishing message does not contain the capability information of the terminal equipment;
or the like, or, alternatively,
and the processing module is further used for generating indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist when the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored, and generating a context establishing message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist.
When the receiving module receives an initial terminal device message and the initial terminal device message comprises capability identification information and capability storage indication information, the processing module determines a terminal device according to the initial terminal device message and obtains the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information, the processing module determines capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information of the access network device according to the capability storage indication information, the processing module determines whether the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information of the terminal device are stored, and when the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information exists, the processing module generates a context establishing message; and when the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored, the processing module generates a context establishing message according to the capacity identification information. When the access network equipment stores the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the capability information does not need to be carried in the context establishing message, and the network resource consumption is further reduced.

The application is applied to a wireless communication network, and particularly applied to a scenario in which the wireless communication network needs to allocate network resources to the terminal device according to the capability of the terminal device, and the wireless communication network may be a second generation network communication technology (2G network), a third generation network communication technology (3G network), a fourth generation network communication technology (4G network), or a fifth generation network communication technology (5G network). The terminal apparatuses in the embodiments of the present application include fixed terminal apparatuses such as a Personal Computer (PC), an IP phone, and a facsimile machine, and mobile terminal apparatuses such as a mobile phone and a tablet computer. The terminal equipment is connected with the access network equipment, the access network equipment receives the data of the terminal equipment and sends the data to the core network equipment, and the core network equipment provides network resources and network services for the terminal equipment. In different wireless communication networks, the access network device corresponds to different devices, for example, the access network device corresponds to a base station and a Base Station Controller (BSC) in a 2G network, the access network device corresponds to a base station (node B) and a Radio Network Controller (RNC) in a 3G network, the access network device corresponds to a base station (evolved node B, eNB) in a 4G network, and the access network device corresponds to a Central Unit (CU) or a Distributed Unit (DU) after logical system separation of a 5G base station (gNB) or a gNB in a 5G network. In different wireless communication networks, the core network device corresponds to different devices, for example, in a 4G network, the core network device corresponds to a mobility management network node (MME) and a serving gateWay (S-GW), in the 3G network, the core network device corresponds to a serving General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) support node (SGSN) and a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN), in the system architecture of the 5G network, the network element devices include an access and mobility management function (AMF) and a Session Management Function (SMF), the AMF and the SMF are the network element devices of the control plane of the 5G network, the AMF is responsible for the access and mobility management of the terminal device, the SMF is responsible for the session management, a plurality of network elements may be configured, and therefore, in the present application, the network element device corresponding to the core network device in the 5G network is an AMF.
For convenience of description, in the following content of the present application, a 5G network is taken as an example, where a terminal device is a User Equipment (UE), an access network device is a gNB, and a core network device is an AMF. It should be noted that, although the 5G network is exemplified in the present application, in practical applications, the wireless communication network is not limited to the 5G network, and if the wireless communication network is another wireless communication network, the access network device and the device corresponding to the core network device may be replaced correspondingly.
If the UE needs to access the 5G network and perform data and signaling interaction with the 5G network, it needs to complete RRC connection with the gNB and context establishment procedure with the AMF, specifically, as shown in the interaction diagram shown in fig. 1, each step in fig. 1 is described in detail as follows:
firstly, the UE performs cell search, acquires system information sent by a gbb in a Broadcast Channel (BCH), and completes downlink synchronization, where the system information includes a main system information block (MIB) and a plurality of System Information Blocks (SIBs), the MIB includes basic information used for downlink synchronization, the types of existing SIBs are ten, each SIB has different uses, and the SIB1 includes cell basic information and cell selection information, so that the UE can complete cell selection and downlink synchronization according to the SIB1 and the MIB;
secondly, the UE completes a Random Access (RA) process with the gNB according to SIB1, SIB1 includes preamble index (preamble index) and Physical Random Access Channel (PRACH) resource related information sent by the eNB, and if the preamble index is not 0, the gNB may be considered to designate a preamble for the UE, and at this time, the UE performs non-competitive RA; however, if the UE performs RA for the first time, the gNB may not specify a preamble index for the UE, and the UE needs to perform a competitive RA, where the competitive RA procedure is as follows: UE sends random access preamble to gNB, gNB receives random access preamble to complete corresponding configuration, then sends random access response to UE, and when UE receives random access response, completes competitive RA;
thirdly, after finishing the RA procedure, the UE generates an RRC connection setup request message (RRC setup request), and sends the RRC setup request message to the gNB through a Common Control Channel (CCCH);
step four, after the gNB receives the RRC setup request, if a radio resource management module (RRM) receives the RRC connection request of the UE, the gNB generates and sends an RRC connection setup message (RRC setup) to the UE;
fifthly, the UE determines that the gNB allows RRC connection establishment according to the RRC setup, and then the UE generates and sends an RRC connection establishment completion message (RRC setup complete) to the gNB;
sixthly, after receiving the RRC setup complete, the gNB determines that an RRC connection with the UE is established, the gNB sends an initial UE message (initial UE message) to the AMF, the initial UE message includes a first non-access stratum (NAS) message after the RRC connection is established, the first NAS message includes an attach request message (attach request), and the attach request includes an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of the UE;
seventhly, when communication is needed between the UE and the AMF, context establishment is needed to be carried out firstly, the context establishment refers to the establishment of a context session for information transmission between functional entities, the establishment process of the context session is a process of establishing a bearer and comprises a signaling bearer and a data bearer, signaling interaction can be carried out after the signaling bearer is established, a data packet can be sent/received after the data bearer is established, the context establishment is initiated by the AMF, the AMF sends a context establishment request message (initial UE context request) of the initial UE to the gNB, and the initial UE context session request comprises an attachment acceptance message (attach accept);
and eighthly, after receiving the initial UE context setup request, the gNB allocates an access layer resource to the UE, transmits the configuration information to the UE, receives a configuration response message of the UE, and completes the configuration of the access layer resource of the UE.
In combination with the RRC connection procedure and the context establishment procedure in the above-described 5G network scenario, the capability transmission of the terminal device is combined with the context establishment procedure, and the following describes the transmission method of the terminal capability in this application in detail through an embodiment.
Referring to fig. 2, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for transmitting terminal capability, including:
201. the access network equipment establishes RRC connection with the terminal equipment;
in this embodiment, an application scenario is described by taking a 5G network as an example, an access network device is a gNB, a terminal device is a UE, the UE takes a mobile phone as an example, each UE has a unique IMEI, a core network device is an AMF, and it should be noted that, in an actual application, a wireless communication network is not limited to the 5G network. In the 5G network scenario, the procedure for establishing the RRC connection between the gNB and the UE is as described in the first to fifth steps in fig. 1, and in the fifth step, after the gNB receives the RRC connection setup complete message (RRC setup complete) sent by the UE, the eNB and the UE already complete the RRC connection.
202. The core network equipment generates a context establishing message of the terminal equipment;
in this embodiment, the content described in the sixth step in fig. 1 is a general processing means of the current communication network, before the gNB and the UE perform context establishment, the gNB must send an initial UE message (initial UE message) to the AMF, if communication between the UE and the AMF is to be implemented, context establishment needs to be performed first, the context establishment refers to establishment of a context session for information transmission between the AMF and the UE, the establishment process of the context session is a process of establishing a bearer, and includes a signaling bearer and a data bearer, signaling interaction can be performed after the signaling bearer is established, and a data packet can be sent/received after the data bearer is established. The context establishment is initiated by the AMF, and then the AMF generates a context establishment message of the UE, where the context establishment message is actually a context establishment request message (initial UE context setup request) of the initial UE in the seventh step of fig. 1. The capabilities of the UE may be specifically referred to as the capability of the UE to access a wireless communication network, for example, the UE supports connection of a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, so that the UE has an LTE capability, and the UE supports a 5G New Radio (NR) network, so that the UE has an NR capability, and the capability of one UE may be a set of multiple capabilities of the UE. If the AMF stores the capability information of the capability of the UE, the AMF needs to send the capability information to the gNB, so that the gNB can know the capability of the UE, the gNB can communicate with the UE, and in order to save the network resource waste caused when the AMF sends the capability information to the gNB independently, a corresponding capability information field can be added in an initial UE context setup request to carry the capability information; if the AMF does not store the capability information, the capability information field in the initial UE context setup request may be set to null, or set to a field content indicating that the AMF does not have the capability information of the UE, or the initial UE context setup request carries information indicating that the gNB acquires the capability from the UE.
203. The core network equipment sends the context establishing message to the access network equipment;
in this embodiment, after generating the initial UE context setup request according to the storage condition of the capability information of the UE, the AMF sends the initial UE context setup request to the gNB connected to the UE.
204. The access network equipment determines whether to request the terminal equipment for capacity according to the context establishing message;
in this embodiment, after receiving the initial UE context setup request, the gNB parses a part of a capability information field in the initial UE context setup request, and if the capability information field is parsed to obtain capability information of the UE, the gNB already determines the capability of the UE according to the capability information, and determines that the capability does not need to be requested to the UE; if the content obtained by parsing the capability information field is empty, or the content obtained by parsing the capability information field indicates that the AMF does not have the capability information of the UE, or the information indicating that the gNB acquires the capability from the UE is obtained from the initial UE context request, the gNB determines that the capability needs to be requested from the UE, and step 205 is performed.
205. The access network equipment sends the capability request information to the terminal equipment;
in this embodiment, according to the description in step 204 above, when the gNB determines that the capability needs to be requested to the UE, the gNB sends capability request information to the UE, and the type of the capability request information may also be a message, which is not specifically limited.
206. And the terminal equipment sends the capability feedback information to the access network equipment according to the capability request information.
In this embodiment, after receiving the capability request information, the UE sends the capability of the UE to the gNB in a capability feedback information manner according to the capability request information, so that the gNB can know the capability of the UE. It should be noted that, after the gNB knows the capability of the UE, it informs the AMF of the capability of the UE, and after the gNB and the AMF allocate network resources to the UE according to the capability, the gNB may store the capability information of the capability of the UE, or may discard the capability information, which is not limited specifically.
In the embodiment of the application, after the access network device establishes RRC connection with the terminal device, whether to request capability from the terminal device is determined through a context establishment message sent by the core network device, if the access network device determines that the capability needs to be requested from the terminal device, the access network device sends capability request information to the terminal device, the access network device receives capability feedback information sent by the terminal device according to the capability request information, so that the capability of the terminal device is known, the access network device needs to obtain the capability from the terminal device only under the condition that the capability of the terminal device is unknown by the core network device, and under the condition that the capability of the terminal device is known by the core network device, the core network device can inform the access network device through the context establishment message, so that network resource consumption of transmission capability is saved.
In the above embodiment shown in fig. 2, the capability of the UE is described by capability information, and the capability information of the UE includes various capabilities related to the gNB, which may include: packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) capabilities (e.g., support of compression header type, etc.), transport channel capabilities (e.g., maximum transport channel and receive bits, etc.), measurement capabilities (e.g., multi-carrier frequency measurement, etc.), and CA capabilities, among others. With CA capability being the largest. For example, the description of CA capability is in the form of carrier combination and band combination, and each band combination includes the capabilities of the number of supported carriers, carrier bandwidth, SCS, and MIMO layers, etc., and if the capability of the UE is defined by capability Identification (ID) information, the description of the capability can be simplified. For example, UEs with the same type may use the same capability identifier, so that as long as network devices such as the gNB and the AMF store the capability identifiers of UEs with some types, the UE may only report the capability identifier of the UE, but not report the capability information corresponding to the specific capability identifier. The capability identifier is used to represent specific capability information, which may also be called a capability index, a capability model, a capability type, or the like, and the present invention is not limited thereto.
According to the above description, the capability of the terminal device may be represented by capability identification information, and specifically, if the terminal device supports multiple capabilities, the capability identification information may represent a set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, or the capability identification information may be an ID list, where the ID list includes at least two IDs, and one ID corresponds to a subset of the set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, for example, capability 1, capability 2, and capability 3 in the set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, and the capability identification information may be (ID1, ID2, ID3), where ID1 corresponds to capability 1, ID2 corresponds to capability 2, and ID3 corresponds to capability 3, or the capability identification information may be (ID4, ID5), where ID4 corresponds to a subset of the set of capabilities, where the subset includes capability 1 and capability 2, and ID5 corresponds to capability 3. For example, for a terminal device, all LTE capabilities supported by the terminal device may correspond to one ID1, all NR supported capabilities of the terminal device may correspond to an ID2, all LTE-NR combined capabilities may correspond to an ID3, or all capabilities supported by the terminal device may also correspond to one ID.
For the specific implementation of the capability identification information, taking terminal equipment as a mobile phone as an example, currently, each mobile phone has a unique IMEI, and the IMEI includes the following parts:
the first part is a Type Allocation Code (TAC), which is composed of 8 digits (6 digits in the early stage), is a code for distinguishing the brand and model of a mobile phone, and is allocated by global system for mobile communications (GSMA) and its authority, and the first two digits of the TAC code are an allocation mechanism identifier (reporting body identifier), which is a code for authorizing an IMEI code allocation authority, such as 01 american wireless communications and internet association (CTIA), 35 british communication commission (bt) and 86 is a telecommunications terminal industry association (TAF);
the second part is a Final Assembly Code (FAC) consisting of 2-bit numbers, which is present only when the TAC code is 6 bits early, so the TAC and FAC codes add up to a total of 8-bit numbers. The FAC code is used for distinguishing the production place code inside a manufacturer;
the third part is Serial Number (SNR) which is composed of 6 digits from the 9 th digit, and the SNR is a production serial number for distinguishing each mobile phone;
the fourth part is a Check Digit (CD) which is calculated by the first 14 digits through a modulo 10 algorithm (luhn algorithm);
the fifth part is a Software Version Number (SVN), which distinguishes different software versions used when the same model mobile phones leave the factory and exists only in part of models of part of brands.
According to the IMEI configuration, the capability identification information may be composed of the TAC plus part of the contents in the FAC, SNR or SVN, or the capability identification information may be composed of the TAC plus a vendor internal index allocated by a terminal vendor, or the capability identification information may be allocated to the terminal device by a network device (e.g., AMF) after the terminal device accesses the network. It should be noted that, obtaining the capability identification information from the content of the IMEI is convenient to utilize the unique information of each terminal device, and in practical applications, the capability of the terminal device may also be corresponded to the capability of the terminal device under the condition that the terminal device and the network device have agreed the capability identification information generation mechanism.
After the terminal device, the access network device and the core network device define the capability of the terminal device through the capability identification information according to the mechanism of the capability identification information, because the terminal device may be connected with the access network device for the first time, or the terminal device may be re-accessed to the access network device, for the access network device, it needs to know whether the terminal device is a mechanism having the capability identification information, and therefore the terminal device needs to inform the access network device through the capability indication information that the access network device supports the reporting mechanism of the capability identification information, that is, the terminal device can express the capability supported by the terminal device through the capability identification information, and specific modes may be the following two types:
if the terminal equipment supports a capability indication information reporting mechanism, the terminal equipment can send the capability indication information to the access network equipment according to the indication of the capability indication information;
and secondly, the capability indication information is capability identification support information, and the terminal equipment actively sends the capability identification support information to the access network equipment, so that the access network equipment is informed that the terminal equipment is reported by the support capability identification information.
The above (one) will be described in detail with the embodiment of fig. 3, and the above (two) will be described in detail with the embodiment of fig. 4.
Referring to fig. 3, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for transmitting terminal capability, including:
301. the access network equipment sends the indication of the capacity indication information to be allowed to be sent to the terminal equipment through system broadcast messages or RRC connection establishment messages;
in this embodiment, the methods for the gNB to send the indication of the permission to send the capability indication information to the UE are two of the following:
(1) sending through a system broadcast message, specifically: before the UE performs the RA procedure, the UE needs to acquire a system broadcast message of the gNB through the BCH, where the system broadcast message includes the MIB and the multiple SIBs, and then the eNB may carry an indication of permission to send the capability indication information in the MIB or in one SIB of the multiple SIBs before broadcasting the MIB and the multiple SIBs;
(2) establishing message sending through RRC connection, specifically: the UE generates an RRC setup request, and sends the RRC setup request to the gNB through the CCCH, so that RRC connection is carried out with the gNB, if the gNB receives the RRC connection request of the UE, the gNB needs to send the RRC setup to the UE, and then the indication of the indication information of the transmission permission capability can be carried in the RRC setup and sent to the UE.
The advantages brought by the above (1) and (2) are that it can be controlled whether the terminal device carries the capability identification information in the RRC connection setup complete message. If the network devices such as the gNB and the AMF do not support the mechanism of the capability identification information or do not need the terminal device to report the capability identification information, the indication allowing the capability indication to be sent may not be carried in the system broadcast message or the RRC connection setup message any more, and at this time, the terminal device may not carry the capability identification information in the RRC connection setup complete message, thereby reducing unnecessary overhead.
302. The terminal equipment sends the capability identification information to the access network equipment through an RRC connection establishment completion message;
in this embodiment, after receiving the indication of allowing sending of the capability indication information through the system broadcast message, if the UE receives the RRC setup indicating that the gNB allows the RRC connection to be established, the UE sends an RRC setup complete to the gNB, where the RRC setup complete carries the capability identification information; or after receiving the indication allowing the capability indication information to be sent through the RRC setup, the UE carries the capability identification information in the RRC setup complete and sends the RRC setup complete to the gNB. Specifically, the capability identification information may be an information element in the RRC setup complete, or may be carried in an NAS field in the RRC setup complete, for example, a DedicatedInfoNAS field is added in the NAS field of the RRC setup complete, a UE capability ID (list) in the DedicatedInfoNAS field indicates capability identification information of the UE, the capability identification information may be in a byte STRING form (OCTET STRING) or a number STRING form (SEQUENCE { }), and if the capability identification information includes two identifications ID1 and ID2, ID1 corresponds to NR capability, and ID2 corresponds to LTE capability, it is further required to indicate clarity through fields (UE capability ID 1for NR, UE capability ID 2for LTE).
303. The access network equipment receives the capability identification information sent by the terminal equipment through an RRC connection establishment completion message;
in this embodiment, after receiving the RRC connection setup complete message, the gNB obtains the capability identification information by parsing the cell or NAS field of the RRC setup complete according to the description of step 302.
304. The access network equipment sends the capability identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message;
in this embodiment, after receiving the RRC setup complete, the gNB determines that an RRC connection with the UE is established, and obtains capability identification information, and according to the sixth step shown in fig. 1, after determining that the RRC connection with the UE is established, the gNB needs to send an initial UE message to the AMF, and in order to reduce network resource consumption for separately sending the capability identification information to the AMF, the gNB may carry the capability identification information in the initial UE message when sending the initial UE message.
Optionally, the capability of the UE may be known by the gNB, for example, the gNB has stored capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, so that the core network device is not required to send the capability information, and the capability does not need to request the UE, therefore, before sending the capability identification information to the AMF, the gNB may first determine whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and for different determination results, the following two schemes are provided:
(304-1), when detecting the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, the gNB generates capability storage indication information for indicating the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, and sends the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information to the AMF through an initial UE message;
and (304-2) when the gNB detects that the gNB does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the gNB sends the capability identification information to the AMF through the initial UE message.
305. The core network equipment generates a context establishment message of the terminal equipment according to the initial terminal equipment message;
in this embodiment, after receiving an initial UE message, the AMF determines the UE according to the initial UE message to obtain capability identification information, and needs to first perform context establishment to implement communication between the UE and the AMF, where the context establishment is initiated by the AMF, and when the AMF generates an initial UE context setup request, the AMF needs to consider whether capability information corresponding to the capability identification information exists, and then determines whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and for different determination results, the AMF has the following two schemes:
(305-1) when the AMF stores the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the AMF generates an initial UE context setup request according to the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, so that the gNB can obtain the capability information of the UE from the initial UE context setup request without requesting the capability from the UE;
(305-2) when the AMF does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the AMF generates indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist, and generates initial UE context setup request according to the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist, so that the gNB can determine the capability information corresponding to the AMF does not store the capability identification information according to the indication information that the capability does not exist, and the capability needs to be requested to the UE.
Optionally, when the gNB detects that the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information is stored by itself before sending the capability identification information to the AMF, as in the scheme (304-1) in step 304, the initial UE message includes the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information, and the AMF determines, according to the capability storage indication information, that the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information is stored by the gNB, then the AMF determines whether the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is stored, and for different determination results, the following two schemes are provided:
(305-3) when the AMF stores the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the AMF determines that the gNB stores the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and the generated initial UE context setup request does not need to carry the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information;
(305-4) when the AMF does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the AMF generates indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist, and generates initial UE context setup request according to the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist, so that the gNB determines the capability information corresponding to the AMF does not store the capability identification information according to the indication information that the capability does not exist.
306. The core network equipment sends the context establishing message to the access network equipment;
in this embodiment, in combination with (305-1), (305-2), (305-3) and (305-4) in step 305, the initial UE context request sent by the MME to the gNB may include capability identification information and corresponding capability information, or include capability identification information and do not include capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or include indication information that the capability does not exist, or do not include the capability identification information and corresponding capability information.
307. The access network equipment determines whether to request the terminal equipment for capacity according to the capacity information or the context establishing message corresponding to the stored capacity identification information;
in this embodiment, if the capabilities information corresponding to the capability identification information has already been stored by the gNB, it is determined that it is not necessary to request the capability from the UE. For (305-4), if the gNB determines that the AMF does not store the UE capability information according to the initial UE context setup request, the gNB may send the UE capability information to the AMF.
If the gNB does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, after the gNB receives the initial UE context setup request, according to the situation of the initial UE context setup request described in step 306, if the initial UE context setup request includes the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the gNB determines that the capability does not need to be requested to the UE; if the initial UE context setup request only comprises the capability identification information and does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises indication information without capability, the gNB can know the capability information corresponding to the AMF non-storage capability identification information according to the indication information without capability and determine that the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information needs to be requested to the UE; and if the initial UE context setup request does not comprise the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, and the gNB does not store the capability information corresponding to the UE, determining that the capability identification information of the UE supporting capability needs to be requested from the UE.
308. The access network equipment sends the capability request information to the terminal equipment;
in this embodiment, according to the description in step 307, if the initial UE context setup request only includes capability identification information, and does not include capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or includes indication information that the capability does not exist, and the gNB determines that it is necessary to request the UE for capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the capability request information sent by the gNB to the UE is used to indicate the UE to send the capability identification information and corresponding capability information, it should be noted that, when the capability identification information includes a specified capability identification, the capability request information is used to indicate the UE to send capability information corresponding to the specified capability identification; if the initial UE context setup request does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, which indicates that the MME does not store the capability information and the capability identification information of the UE, the gNB determines that the capability identification information of the UE support capability needs to be requested from the UE, so as to re-acquire the capability of the UE using the capability identification information, and the capability request information is used to indicate the UE to send the capability identification information.
309. And the terminal equipment sends the capability feedback information to the access network equipment according to the capability request information.
In this embodiment, according to the description in step 308, the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send capability identifier information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send capability identifier information and corresponding capability information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send capability information corresponding to a specified capability identifier, so that the terminal device sends capability feedback information to the access network device according to the capability request information, where the capability feedback information includes the capability identifier information, or the capability feedback information includes the capability identifier information and corresponding capability information, or the capability feedback information includes the capability information corresponding to the specified capability identifier.
In the embodiment of the application, the access network equipment sends the indication allowing sending the capability indication information to the terminal equipment through the system broadcast message or the RRC connection establishment message, so that the terminal equipment carries the capability identification information in the RRC connection establishment completion message, the access network equipment sends the capability identification information to the core network equipment through the initial terminal equipment message, the core network equipment sends the context establishment message to the access network equipment according to the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and if the access network equipment obtains the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information according to the context establishment message, the access network equipment does not need to request the capability to the terminal equipment; if the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not obtained from the context establishing message, the capability request information needs to be sent to the terminal equipment, and the access network equipment obtains the capability of the terminal equipment through the capability feedback information fed back by the terminal equipment. Because the capability identification information is used for representing a capability set supported by one terminal device, or the capability identification information comprises at least two capability identifications, each capability identification corresponds to a subset in the capability set supported by the terminal device, when a plurality of terminal devices have the same capability set, the capability identification information is the same, the core network device only needs to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of one terminal device, and the consumption of storage resources is reduced; and when the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information is not stored, the access network equipment does not need to request the capacity from all the terminal equipment, and only one terminal equipment needs to report the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information, so that the network resource consumption in the capacity transmission process is reduced.
Referring to fig. 4, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for transmitting terminal capability, including:
401. when the terminal equipment establishes RRC connection with the access network equipment, the terminal equipment sends the capability identification support information to the access network equipment through an RRC connection establishment completion message;
in this embodiment, the UE receives the RRC setup, which indicates that the eNB allows the RRC connection to be established, and then sends the RRC setup complete to the gNB, before that, when the UE supports the capability identifier reporting mechanism, the UE generates the capability identifier support information and sends the capability identifier support information to the gNB through the RRC setup complete, and when the UE is applied specifically, a field of the capability identifier support information may be added in the RRC setup complete in an information element manner or in a message structure of the RRC setup complete.
402. The access network equipment receives the capability identification support information sent by the terminal equipment through an RRC connection establishment completion message;
in this embodiment, after receiving the RRC connection setup complete message, the gNB parses the RRC setup complete to obtain the capability identifier support information, and determines that the UE supports the capability identifier information reporting according to the capability identifier support information.
403. The access network equipment sends the initial terminal equipment message to the core network equipment;
in this embodiment, after receiving the RRC setup complete, the gNB determines to establish an RRC connection with the UE, and according to the sixth step shown in fig. 1, after determining to establish the RRC connection with the UE, the gNB needs to send an initial UE message to the AMF.
404. The core network equipment generates a context establishment message of the terminal equipment according to the initial terminal equipment message;
in the embodiment, after receiving the initial UE message, the AMF determines the UE according to the initial UE message, determines whether the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information of the UE are stored, and when the AMF stores the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the AMF generates an initial UE context request according to the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information; when the AMF stores the capacity identification information and does not store the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information, the AMF generates an initial UE context setup request according to the capacity identification information; when the AMF stores the capacity identification information and does not store the capacity information corresponding to the capacity identification information, the AMF generates indication information that the capacity corresponding to the capacity identification information does not exist, and generates an initial UE context request according to the capacity identification information and the indication information that the capacity does not exist; when the AMF does not store the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the MME generates an initial UE context setup request.
405. The core network equipment sends the context establishing message to the access network equipment;
in this embodiment, in conjunction with step 404, the initial UE context request sent by the AMF to the gNB may include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, or only include the capability identification information, or include the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist, or do not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information.
406. The access network equipment determines whether to request the terminal equipment for capacity according to the context establishing message;
in this embodiment, after the gsb receives the initial UE context setup request, since the gsb has already determined that the UE supports the capability identification information reporting according to step 402, if the initial UE context setup request includes the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the gsb determines that it does not need to request the capability from the UE; if the initial UE context setup request only comprises the capability identification information and does not comprise the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or comprises the indication information without capability, the gNB can know the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information which is not stored in the MME according to the indication information without capability and determine that the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information needs to be requested to the UE; and if the initial UE context setup request does not comprise the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, determining that the capability identification information of the capability supported by the UE needs to be requested to the UE.
407. The access network equipment sends the capability request information to the terminal equipment;
in this embodiment, according to the description of step 406, if the initial UE context setup request only includes capability identification information, and does not include capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or includes indication information that the capability does not exist, and the gNB determines that it is necessary to request the UE for capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the capability request information sent by the gNB to the UE is used to indicate the UE to send the capability identification information and corresponding capability information, it should be noted that, when the capability identification information includes a specified capability identification, the capability request information is used to indicate the UE to send capability information corresponding to the specified capability identification; if the initial UE context setup request does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, and the gNB determines that the capability identification information of the capability supported by the UE needs to be requested from the UE, the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send the capability identification information.
408. And the terminal equipment sends the capability feedback information to the access network equipment according to the capability request information.
In this embodiment, according to the description in step 407, the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send capability identifier information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send capability identifier information and corresponding capability information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the UE to send capability information corresponding to an assigned capability identifier, so that the terminal device sends capability feedback information to the access network device according to the capability request information, where the capability feedback information includes the capability identifier information, or the capability feedback information includes the capability identifier information and corresponding capability information, or the capability feedback information includes the capability information corresponding to the assigned capability identifier.
It should be noted that, in this embodiment, the gNB does not perform the check described in step 305 to check whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information as in the embodiment shown in fig. 3, therefore, when the gNB receives that the capability feedback information sent by the UE includes the capability identification information, the gNB may also check whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and if not, request the AMF or the UE for the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information.
In the embodiment of the application, the terminal device carries the capability identification support information in the RRC connection establishment completion message, the access network device sends the initial terminal device message to the core network device, the core network device generates a context establishment message according to the initial terminal device message and sends the context establishment message to the access network device, and if the access network device obtains the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal device according to the context establishment message, the access network device does not need to request the capability from the terminal device; if the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal equipment is not obtained from the context establishing message, the capability request information needs to be sent to the terminal equipment, and the access network equipment obtains the capability of the terminal equipment through the capability feedback information fed back by the terminal equipment.
In the above embodiment, after the access network device obtains the capability of the terminal device, if the terminal device needs to be switched to a different access network device, for example, if the user holds the terminal device to go out of the communication coverage of the access network device and enter into the communication coverage of the target access network device, the terminal device needs to be switched, and when the terminal device is switched between different access network devices, the target access network device needs to know the capability of the terminal device in order to provide network service, and then the access network device needs to send the capability information of the terminal device to the target access network device every time the terminal device is switched.
In the following, detailed description is given to capability transmission during handover of a terminal device between different access network devices by an embodiment, referring to fig. 5, an embodiment of the present application provides a method for transmitting a terminal capability, including:
501. the access network equipment sends the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal equipment to target access network equipment;
in this embodiment, in the current wireless communication network, the access network devices are connected to each other through an X2 interface to form a mesh network, and an X2 interface supports direct transmission of data and signaling. When the X2 interface is established between the gNB and the target gNB, the gNB may send the capability identification information of the UE and the corresponding capability information to the target gNB. For example, when an X2 interface is initially established between the gNB1 and the gNB2, the gNB1 sends an interface establishment request message (X2 setup request) to the gNB2, and the gNB2 sends an interface establishment response message (X2 setup response) to the gNB1, so that, in the X2 setup request and the X2 setup response, the capability identification information of the UE that needs to be transferred between the gNB1 and the gNB2, or the capability identification information of the UE that needs to be transferred and the corresponding capability information can be transferred to the peer.
502. The access network equipment sends a switching instruction to the target access network equipment;
in this embodiment, when the gNB performs UE handover with the target gNB, the gNB sends a handover command (handover request) to the target gNB, and since the target gNB has already acquired the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the UE in step 501, the capability identification information of the UE only needs to be carried in the handover request, and the target gNB can determine the capability of the UE according to the capability identification information and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information acquired in step 501.
503. And the target access network equipment determines the capability of the terminal equipment according to the switching instruction.
In this embodiment, after receiving the handover request, the target gNB may determine the capability of the UE according to the capability identification information of the UE carried by the handover request and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information. It should be noted that, if the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not successfully transferred in step 501, or the target gNB loses the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the target gNB needs to request the AMF or the gNB for the capability according to the capability identification information.
In the embodiment of the present application, since the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal device is already transferred through the X2 interface before the access network device and the target access network device perform the handover of the terminal device, the target access network device can determine the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information according to the capability identification information only by carrying the capability identification information of the terminal device in the handover instruction during the subsequent handover, thereby determining the capability of the terminal device. Compared with the current switching, only the transmission capability identification information is needed, but the transmission capability information is not needed, so that the network resource consumption between the access network equipment and the target access network equipment during the switching of the terminal equipment is obviously reduced.
The foregoing embodiments describe a method for transmitting terminal capabilities, and a terminal device, an access network device, and a core network device are described below through embodiments.
Referring to fig. 6, an embodiment of the present application provides an access network device, including:
an RRC module 601, configured to establish an RRC connection with a terminal device;
a receiving module 602, configured to receive a context establishment message of a terminal device sent by a core network device;

In this embodiment, after the RRC module 601 establishes RRC connection with the terminal device, the processing module 603 determines whether to request capability from the terminal device through a context establishment message sent by the core network device, and if the processing module 603 determines that the capability needs to be requested from the terminal device, the sending module 604 sends capability request information to the terminal device, so that the receiving module 602 receives capability feedback information sent by the terminal device according to the capability request information, thereby knowing the capability of the terminal device.
Alternatively, in some embodiments of the present application,
the receiving module 602 is further configured to receive the capability indication information sent by the terminal device through an RRC connection setup complete message.
In the embodiment of the present application, if the capability of the terminal device is described by the capability information, for example, the description of the CA capability is in the form of a carrier combination and a band combination, and each band combination includes capabilities such as the number of supported carriers, carrier bandwidth, SCS, and MIMO layer number, and if the CA capability is defined by the capability identification information, the description of the capability can be simplified, and therefore, the capability of the terminal device can be represented by the capability identification information. After the capability of the terminal device is defined by the capability identifier information, because the terminal device may be connected for the first time, or the terminal device may be re-accessed, and for the processing module 603, it needs to know whether the terminal device has a mechanism of the capability identifier information, so that the terminal device needs to inform the processing module 603 of a mechanism for reporting the capability identifier information through the capability indication information, and specifically, in the process of establishing the RRC connection between the RRC module 601 and the terminal device, the capability indication information is carried in an RRC connection setup complete message, so as to save network resources, and the receiving module 602 receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal device through the RRC connection setup complete message.
Optionally, in some embodiments of the present application, the capability indication information is capability identification information,
the sending module 604 is further configured to send, to the terminal device, an indication allowing sending of the capability indication information through a system broadcast message or an RRC connection setup message, where the indication allowing sending of the capability indication information is used to indicate the terminal device to send the capability identification information through an RRC connection setup complete message.
In this embodiment of the application, the capability indication information is specifically capability identification information, the access network device sends an indication that the capability indication information is allowed to be sent to the terminal device through a system broadcast message or an RRC connection setup message, if the terminal device supports a capability identification information reporting mechanism, the terminal device can send the capability identification information through an RRC connection setup complete message according to the indication that the capability indication information is allowed to be sent, and the receiving module 602 receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal device through an RRC connection setup complete message.
Alternatively, in some embodiments of the present application,
the sending module 604 is further configured to send the capability identifier information to the core network device through an initial terminal device message.
In this embodiment of the present application, after the receiving module 602 receives the capability indication information sent by the terminal device through the RRC connection setup complete message, the sending module 604 sends the initial terminal device message to the core network device, and in order to reduce network resource consumption for separately sending the capability identification information to the core network device, the sending module 604 may carry the capability identification information in the initial terminal device message when sending the initial terminal device message.
Alternatively, in some embodiments of the present application,
the sending module 604 is further configured to send, when the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information exists, the capability identification information and capability storage indication information to the core network device through an initial terminal device message, where the capability storage indication information is used to indicate the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information of the access network device;
or the like, or, alternatively,
the sending module 604 is further configured to send the capability identifier information to the core network device through an initial terminal device message when the capability information corresponding to the capability identifier information is not stored.
In this embodiment, the processing module 603 may know the capability of the terminal device, before the sending module 604 sends the capability identification information to the core network device, the processing module 603 may first determine whether to store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, and for different determination results, when detecting the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, the sending module 604 generates capability storage indication information for indicating the capability information corresponding to the self-stored capability identification information, and sends the capability identification information and the capability storage indication information to the core network device through an initial terminal device message; when detecting that the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored in the sending module 604, the capability identification information is sent to the core network device by the initial terminal device message. If the capability information corresponding to the stored capability identification information exists, the core network device is not required to send the capability information, and the terminal device is not required to request the capability, so that the consumption of network resources can be further reduced.
Optionally, in some embodiments of the present application, the capability indication information is capability identification support information,
the processing module 603 is further configured to determine that the terminal device supports reporting of the capability identifier information according to the capability identifier support information.
In this embodiment, the capability indication information is specifically capability identifier support information, when the terminal device receives an RRC connection establishment message, if the terminal device supports a capability identifier information reporting mechanism, the terminal device can send the capability identifier information through an RRC connection establishment completion message according to an indication that the capability indication information is allowed to be sent, the receiving module 602 receives the capability identifier support information sent by the terminal device through the RRC connection establishment completion message, and the processing module 603 determines that the terminal device supports capability identifier information reporting according to the capability identifier support information.
Alternatively, in some embodiments of the present application,
the processing module 603 is further configured to determine not to request the capability from the terminal device when the context setup message includes the capability identification information of the terminal device and the corresponding capability information;
or the like, or, alternatively,
the processing module 603 is further configured to determine to request the terminal device for capability information corresponding to the capability identification information when the context establishment message includes the capability identification information of the terminal device, and does not include the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or includes indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist;
or the like, or, alternatively,
the processing module 603 is further configured to determine, when the context setup message does not include the capability identification information of the terminal device and the corresponding capability information, capability identification information that requests the terminal device for a terminal device support capability.
In this embodiment of the application, after the receiving module 602 receives the context establishment message, if the context establishment message includes the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the processing module 603 determines that a capability does not need to be requested from the terminal device; if the context establishing message only includes the capability identification information and does not include the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or include the indication information that the capability does not exist, the processing module 603 can know that the core network device does not store the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information according to the indication information that the capability does not exist, and determine that the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information needs to be requested from the terminal device; if the context setup message does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, the processing module 603 determines that the capability identification information of the terminal device support capability needs to be requested from the terminal device.
Optionally, in some embodiments of the application, the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send capability identification information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send the capability identification information and corresponding capability information, or the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send capability information corresponding to a specified capability identification, where the specified capability identification is a capability identification in the capability identification information.
In this embodiment of the application, if the receiving module 602 receives that the context establishing message only includes capability identification information, does not include capability information corresponding to the capability identification information or includes indication information that the capability does not exist, and needs to request the terminal device for the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information, the sending module 604 sends the capability request information to the terminal device for indicating the terminal device to send the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, it needs to be stated that when the capability identification information includes a specified capability identification, the capability request information is used for indicating the terminal device to send the capability information corresponding to the specified capability identification; if the receiving module 602 receives the context setup message and does not include the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information, and the sending module 604 determines that the capability identification information of the terminal device supporting capability needs to be requested from the terminal device, the capability request information is used to instruct the terminal device to send the capability identification information.
Optionally, in some embodiments of the present application, the capability identification information is used to indicate a capability set supported by one terminal device, or the capability identification information includes at least two capability identifications, and each capability identification corresponds to a subset of the capability set supported by the terminal device.
In this embodiment, if the terminal device supports multiple capabilities, the capability identification information may indicate a set of capabilities supported by a terminal device, or the capability identification information may be a capability identification list, where the capability identification list includes at least two capability identifications, and one capability identification corresponds to a subset of the set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, for example, capability 1, capability 2, and capability 3 in the set of capabilities supported by the terminal device, and the capability identification information may be (ID1, ID2, ID3), where ID1 corresponds to capability 1, ID2 corresponds to capability 2, and ID3 corresponds to capability 3, or the capability identification information may be (ID4, ID5), where ID4 corresponds to a subset of the set of capabilities, where the subset includes capability 1 and capability 2, and ID5 corresponds to capability 3.
Alternatively, in some embodiments of the present application,
the sending module 604 is further configured to send, when a connection interface is established with the target access network device, capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal device to the target access network device;
the sending module 604 is further configured to send a switching instruction to the target access network device when performing terminal device switching with the target access network device, where the switching instruction includes capability identification information of the terminal device, so that the target access network device determines the capability of the terminal device according to the switching instruction.
In this embodiment, in the current wireless communication network, the access network devices are connected to each other through the X2 interface to form a mesh network, the X2 interface supports direct transmission of data and signaling, the sending module 604 may send the capability identifier information of the terminal device and the corresponding capability information to the target access network device, when the access network device performs terminal device handover with the target access network device, the sending module 604 sends a handover command to the target access network device, since the target access network device has already acquired the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information of the terminal device sent by the sending module 604 when the X2 interface is connected, the target access network device can determine the capability of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information only by carrying the capability identification information of the terminal device in the switching instruction. Compared with the current switching, only the transmission capability identification information is needed, but the transmission capability information is not needed, so that the network resource consumption of the terminal equipment during switching is obviously reduced.
Referring to fig. 7, an embodiment of the present application provides a core network device, including:
a processing module 701, configured to generate a context setup message of a terminal device when an access network device establishes an RRC connection with a terminal;
a sending module 702, configured to send the context setup message generated by the processing module 701 to the access network device, so that the access network device determines whether to request the terminal device for capability according to the context setup message.
In the embodiment of the application, after RRC connection is established between an access network device and a terminal device, if communication between the terminal device and the access network device is to be achieved, context establishment needs to be performed first, where the context establishment refers to establishment of a context session for information transmission between the access network device and the terminal device, and the establishment process of the context session is a process of establishing a bearer, including a signaling bearer and a data bearer, signaling interaction can be performed after the signaling bearer is established, and a data packet can be sent/received after the data bearer is established. If the core network device stores capability information of the capability of the terminal device, the processing module 701 needs to send the capability information to the access network device, so that the access network device also knows the capability of the terminal device, and thus the access network device and the terminal device can communicate with each other, and in order to save the network resource waste caused when the sending module 702 sends the capability information to the access network device independently, a corresponding capability information field can be added to the context establishment message to carry the capability information; if the core network device does not store the capability information, the capability information field in the context establishment message may be set to null, or set to field content indicating that the core network device does not have the capability information of the terminal device, or the context establishment message carries information indicating that the access network device acquires the capability from the terminal device. Therefore, the core network device needs to acquire the capability from the terminal device only when the core network device does not know the capability of the terminal device, and can inform the access network device through the context establishment message under the condition that the core network device knows the capability of the terminal device, so that the network resource consumption of the transmission capability is saved.
Optionally, in some embodiments of the present application, the core network device further includes: a receiving module 703;
a receiving module 703 is configured to receive an initial terminal device message sent by an access network device.
In this embodiment of the application, before the core network device and the terminal device perform context establishment, the access network device must send an initial terminal device message to the core network device, and the core network device can determine the terminal device that needs to perform context establishment according to the initial terminal device message, so that the receiving module 703 receives the initial terminal device message sent by the access network device.
Alternatively, in some embodiments of the present application,
the processing module 701 is further configured to determine a terminal device according to the initial terminal device message;
the processing module 701 is further configured to determine whether to store the capability identifier information of the terminal device and corresponding capability information;
the processing module 701 is further configured to generate a context establishment message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information when the capability identification information and the corresponding capability information are stored;
or the like, or, alternatively,
the processing module 701 is further configured to generate a context establishment message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information when the capability identification information is stored and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored;
or the like, or, alternatively,
the processing module 701 is further configured to, when the capability identification information is stored and the capability information corresponding to the capability identification information is not stored, generate indication information that the capability corresponding to the capability identification information does not exist, and generate a context establishment message of the terminal device according to the capability identification information and the indication information that the capability does not exist;
