Abstract

The invention discloses a device for testing the performance of a rubber sealing ring; the sealing cavity is connected with the gland through a flange, a groove is formed in the flange, and a sealing element transition ring is arranged in the groove; the transition ring shares the same sealing cavity and is used for measuring sealing rings with different structural parameters. The central part of the pressure cover is provided with a force sensor which is connected with a display instrument and is contacted with the loading rod through a pressure head. Rotating the load lever clockwise causes it to move the pressure sensor downward, causing the gland to move downward. By determining the angle of rotation of the load bar threads, the distance the load bar moves downward can be determined. In the measuring process, the performance test of rubber sealing rings with different structures and sizes on the same test bed can be realized by replacing transition rings with different sizes. By pressurizing the sealing cavity, the static bearing reaction force test, the static contact width test and the air pressure test of the rubber sealing ring can be carried out. The real use environment of the sealing ring can be simulated, and the accuracy of the test result is improved.

The rubber sealing ring is widely applied to sealing positions of internal combustion engines, automobiles, engineering machinery, machine tools, various hydraulic and pneumatic elements and the like with the advantages of low cost, simple structure, convenient installation and use and the like, can bear the sealing of fixed, reciprocating and rotary motion, has very strong adaptability, and has good dimensional stability and the capability of keeping elasticity for a long time under the common use condition. The O-shaped rubber sealing ring accounts for more than 50 percent in the sealing of mechanical products. With the higher and higher requirements of the automobile industry, the aerospace industry, the military industry and the oil exploitation industry on sealing, the environmental pollution, the casualties and the resource waste which are possibly brought by the sealing failure are more and more emphasized. Elastomeric seals rely on the elasticity and incompressibility of the seal material and the presence of initial interference or precompression, but the sealing conditions become severe due to structural vibrations, high temperatures and pressures, etc., resulting in leakage. Therefore, the research on the sealing performance of the rubber sealing ring is very important.

The force sensor 7 is positioned at the upper part of the gland 6, and the central position of the upper part of the force sensor 7 is provided with a pressure head 8; one end of the loading rod passes through a central screw hole of the top cover to be contacted with a pressure head 8 at the upper part of the force sensor 7, and the other end of the loading rod 11 is fixedly connected with a stress application rod 12; the force sensor 7 is connected with the display instrument 14 to form a force acquisition system for measuring the support reaction force of the sealing ring; the bearing reaction force of the tested sealing ring can be displayed in real time.
The lower section of the loading rod 11 is of a threaded structure, an angle is engraved on the top cover 9 according to the circumferential direction of the central screw hole and is used for indicating the rotating angle pointer 13 to be fixed on the stressing rod 11, and the downward moving distance of the loading rod 11 can be determined by determining the rotating angle of the loading rod 11. And calculating the downward rotation distance of the loading rod according to the preset compression ratio, and then obtaining the rotation angle according to the downward rotation distance. The loading rod is rotated clockwise to meet the angle requirement, and the reading of the force sensor display is stable. The experimental device is disassembled, the carbon paper is taken out, and the contact width of the sealing ring under the compression ratio is measured.
During a sealing ring air pressure test, a sealing ring 5 to be tested is correctly placed in a proper transition ring 4, a gland 6 is covered, a force sensor 7, a pressure head 8 and a top cover 9 are sequentially assembled, different pressures of a sealing cavity are set by controlling the on-off of an air source and the numerical value display of a pressure gauge, and then the attenuation relation of the sealing ring under the preset compression ratio and the pressures of the different sealing cavities along with time can be obtained.
