When the split type steam water-proof stewpot is used, water is firstly added into the water tank 4, food materials to be stewed are added into the inner pot 17, then the inner pot 17 is placed into the outer pot, and the outer pot cover 3 is covered on the opening at the top of the outer pot 2; the water in the water tank 4 flows into the water heating cavity 51 of the steam generator 5, the steam generated after being heated by the heating device 54 sequentially enters the cavity of the outer pot 2 through the first steam outlet 53, the first steam inlet 53, the steam output cavity 61, the second steam outlet 63 and the one-way valve 7, and the steam heats the inner pot 17 and food materials therein for stewing. Because the outer pot is detachably arranged on the base, the outer pot can be taken down from the base after stewing, and the taking of food and the cleaning of the outer pot are convenient.
