Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to a sitting and/or lying furniture with an extendable footrest.
Background
German utility model DE-U-8703625 discloses an armchair with an extensible footrest, wherein the footrest is connected to a displaceable frame by means of a scissor-type mechanism. The actuating device acts on a hinge point between the two links of the scissor mechanism. The known armchair allows the heels of the person resting in the armchair to be supported due to the large cantilever range of the scissor mechanism. However, this known method requires a relatively large space in the retracted state and also requires safety measures to prevent jamming during movement of the footrest in the extended state.
DE 202015006245U discloses a more compact approach, wherein the seating and/or reclining furniture essentially has an extendable footrest, a frame displaceable on a base frame of the furniture, wherein the footrest is connected to the front end of the frame and an actuating device for extending and retracting the footrest. Furthermore, it is provided to hold the footrest pivotable about a pivot on the front end of the frame. The extension and retraction of the footrest is performed by means of a combination of an operating rod and a displaceable frame, so that the scissor mechanism can be omitted. However, the extension and/or retraction of the footrest occurs relatively abruptly only at the end of the travel distance of the displaceable frame.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the invention to further improve the extension and retraction of the footrest, while maintaining strict safety requirements and preventing any possible risk of injury.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of claim 1.
The seating and/or reclining furniture according to the invention has essentially the following features:
-a seat frame for supporting the seat frame,
-an extendable footrest,
a footrest frame which is displaceable on the seat frame and on the front end of which a footrest is movably held, pivotable about a pivot axis,
-a driver for displacing the footrest frame along a displacement distance relative to the seat frame, and
at least one lever for swinging the footrest in and out about the pivot axis, wherein the lever is connected at one end to the footrest and the other end of the lever is connected to the seat frame by means of a hinge mechanism, such that the footrest frame causes a simultaneous pivotal movement of the footrest about the pivot axis over a displacement of at least 60%, preferably at least 80% and optimally at least 90% of the displacement distance.
Due to the lever being connected to the seat frame, the pivotal movement of the footrest is synchronized with the displacement of the footrest over a significantly larger displacement distance. The footrest swings outwards and thus simultaneously over a large part of the total displacement distance of the footrest frame, so that the swinging in and out of the footrest occurs much slower than in DE 202005006245U and is therefore more comfortable for the user. Avoiding the use of scissor mechanisms also minimizes the risk of injury.
Further advantages and embodiments of the invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the footrest frame is displaceably mounted in the at least one guide profile. According to a preferred embodiment, the footrest frame is guided on the seat frame by means of guide rollers. The simultaneous pivotal movement of the footrest over a majority of the displacement distance of the footrest frame is ensured by a hinge mechanism, the end of the lever facing away from the footrest being connected to the seat frame. The hinge mechanism preferably has a first hinge rod which is connected to the rear end of the footrest frame by means of a central hinge point, preferably in a hinged connection. According to another embodiment, the first hinge lever has a first outer hinge point for connection to the operating lever in a hinged connection and a second outer hinge point for connection to the second hinge lever. The second hinge rod may in particular be connected at one end to the first hinge rod in a hinged connection and also at a second end to the seat frame.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the operating lever is arranged behind the footrest frame such that in a side view of the seating and/or reclining furniture with the footrest extended, the operating lever is hidden by at least 80%, preferably by at least 90%. Such a structure produces an aesthetically appealing appearance that is easy to implement structurally. Due to the structure of the displaceable footrest frame, sufficient stability can be ensured even when the footrest is fully extended. Furthermore, it can be provided that the operating lever is arranged behind the footrest frame such that it is hidden by at least 80%, preferably at least 90%, in a side view of the seating and/or reclining furniture with the footrest retracted. Thus, whether the footrest is extended or retracted, the seating and/or reclining furniture has an aesthetically appealing appearance.
In order to ensure a sufficiently large support surface for the foot of the user, the footrest can have, in addition to the main support element, an additional support element connected thereto in a hinged connection. The additional support element can then be conveniently connected to the operating lever in an articulated connection by means of a connecting arm, so that the main support element and the additional support element can be extended or retracted simultaneously.

figure 4 shows a side view from the outside according to the position shown in figure 3c,
fig. 5 shows a three-dimensional schematic view of an actuating mechanism according to a second exemplary embodiment, wherein, in addition to the main bearing element, the footrest has an additional bearing element connected thereto by a hinged connection,
fig. 6a-6c show side views of the actuation mechanism according to fig. 5 in various positions of the footrest.
Detailed Description
The sitting and/or lying furniture shown in fig. 1 is for example an armchair or a sofa. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, the seating and/or reclining furniture has a seating 1, a backrest 2, an armrest 3 and a footrest 4, wherein the footrest 4 is shown in fig. 1 in an extended state.
Fig. 2 shows an actuation mechanism 5 for extending and retracting the footrest 4. It has a footrest frame 6, which footrest frame 6 consists of two bars 6a (only one of which is shown in fig. 2) and at least one cross bar 6d connecting the two bars 6 a. This forms a substantially H-shaped footrest frame 6 which is displaceably mounted in the region of its two opposite bars 6 a. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, each bar 6a on the seat frame 7 is mounted by means of two guide rollers 8, 9 arranged above the bar 6a and one guide roller 10 arranged below the bar, so that the footrest frame 6 is guided in a stable manner and is displaceable along the extent of the bar 6a on the seat frame 7.
The footrest frame 6 is displaced by means of a driver 11, which driver 11 is designed as a linear motor and is connected at one end to a crossbar 12 which is firmly connected to the seat frame 7 and at its other end to the crossbar 6b of the footrest frame 6. Thus, after the crossbar 6b has been firmly connected to the rod 6a, the actuation of the driver 11 causes a parallel displacement of the crossbar 6b with respect to the fixed crossbar 12 of the seat frame 7, so that the actuation of the driver causes a displacement of the footrest frame 6 along a displacement distance which is predetermined by the guide rollers 8-10. However, instead of the guide rollers 8-10, for example, sliding bearings or any other suitable type of bearings may be provided.
Further embodiments of the actuation mechanism 5 are described in more detail below with reference to various positions of the footrest shown in fig. 2 and 3a to 3 c. FIG. 3a shows a retracted position of the footrest; fig. 3c shows the extended position and fig. 3b shows the intermediate position. The maximum displacement distance of the footrest frame 6 is thus represented by a comparison of fig. 3a and 3c, each of which shows the end position of the footrest frame 6.
In this exemplary embodiment, the footrest 4 has a main bearing element 4a, which main bearing element 4a is movably held at the end of the lever 6a to pivot about a pivot 13. The pivoting movement of the footrest 4, which is synchronized with the displacement of the footrest frame 6, is effected with a lever 14, which lever 14 is connected at one end to the footrest 4 with a hinged joint and/or at a hinge point 15 to the main bearing element 4a (fig. 2). At the other end of the operating lever 14, an articulated joint mechanism 16 is provided, with which joint mechanism 16 the operating lever 14 is connected to the footrest frame 6 as well as to the seat frame 7.
The articulated joint mechanism 16 comprises a first joint rod 16a, which first joint rod 16a is connected to the footrest frame 6 in an articulated connection at an intermediate joint position 16 b. The operating lever 14 is connected at its end facing away from the footrest 4 to a first outer hinge point 16c of a first joint lever 16 a. At the other end of the first joint bar 16a, a second outer hinge point 16d is provided, at which second outer hinge point 16d the first joint bar 16a is connected to a second joint bar 16e in a hinged connection, wherein the second joint bar 16e is connected to the seat frame 7 in a hinged connection at a third hinge point 16 f.
The position of the respective joint rods of the articulated joint mechanism 6 relative to the footrest 4 can be seen in three different positions of the footrest 4 in fig. 3a to 3 c. Fig. 3a to 3c show side views of the actuating mechanism 5 from the center of the sitting and/or lying furniture as seen from the outside. As can be seen in particular in fig. 3c, the lever 14 and the bar 6a of the footrest frame are designed to be parallel and to overlap. When viewing the seating and/or reclining furniture from the outside (see fig. 4), the operating lever 14 is completely covered by the bar 6a of the footrest frame, resulting in a particularly slim structure. The footrest frame 8 is arranged to be guided by means of guide rollers 8-10 in the seat frame 7, so that injuries to the user can be excluded. Suitable covers and/or safety measures are provided only in the area of the folding movement of the footrest 4 on the front end of the operating lever 14 to prevent injuries to the user.
Fig. 5 shows a second exemplary embodiment of the invention, which substantially corresponds to the exemplary embodiment according to fig. 2. There is only one difference in the area of the footrest 4, which discloses, in addition to the main support element 4a in the exemplary embodiment according to fig. 5, an additional support element 4b, which is connected to the main support element 4a in an articulated connection. As can be observed in particular from fig. 6a to 6c, the main bearing element 4a and the additional bearing element 4b are connected to one another by means of a hinge point 4 c.
The operating lever 14 is also connected to the main supporting element 4a in an articulated connection via a hinge point 15. However, the operating lever 14 is also connected to the additional support element 4b in an articulated connection by means of the connecting arm 4 d. Thus, a displacement of the operating lever 4 relative to the footrest frame 6 not only causes a pivoting movement of the main support element 4a about the pivot 13, but at the same time also causes the additional support element 4b to simultaneously pivot outwards by means of the connecting arm 4 d. Due to this construction, the footrest 4 can be designed somewhat larger and is also shown in its retracted state, so that the footrest is also folded up, so that it is more compact and can therefore be placed under the seat 1 more easily and in a more aesthetically appealing manner.
