Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of optical fiber connection, in particular to an optical fiber adapter.
Background
The existing optical fiber connection methods mainly include the following three methods:
1. and (3) optical fiber fusion: the method is mainly characterized in that the optical fiber and the optical fiber or the optical fiber and the tail fiber are connected by using a fiber fusing machine, and the bare fiber and the optical fiber tail fiber in the optical cable are fused together to form a whole.
2. Cold connection of optical fibers: the method is fastest, but needs cold splices and corresponding tools.
3. The adapter is connected: this is an active connection. Firstly determining the type of the optical fiber head, then customizing an optical fiber jumper wire with enough length to ensure that the types of the optical fiber heads at two ends are matched, and then adding an optical fiber adapter (also called an optical fiber coupler and a flange plate) to ensure that the optical fiber adapter is matched with the type of the optical fiber head during connection.
Generally most often, the third way, a generic adapter is mainly composed of three parts: two optical fiber connectors and a coupler, on the basis of which some adaptability improvement can be made, such as a 'lens self-coupling type optical fiber adapter' disclosed in patent document with publication number of CN103901545B, which comprises a coupling lens group, a lens sleeve, a thick fiber core flange, a thin fiber core flange, a thick fiber core limiting pipe and a thin fiber core limiting pipe; the coupling lens group is packaged in the lens sleeve in a cementing mode; the lens sleeve is fixed in a sliding mode and packaged in a screw fastening or gluing mode, the thick fiber core limiting pipe is fixed at the central hole of the thick fiber core flange, and the thin fiber core limiting pipe is fixed at the central hole of the thin fiber core flange. The scheme can be used for optical coupling between optical fibers with mismatched core diameters, adopts an optical path system consisting of a plurality of optical lenses to carry out beam expanding or beam shrinking optical coupling, and is suitable for the plug-in connection of optical fiber jumpers with different core diameters;
most adapter connections today suffer more or less from the following problems:
1. when the existing optical fibers are butted, the distance is too short, the end faces are contacted, stress is generated, and the optical fibers are easy to burn and melt when high-power light is passed; if the butt-joint distance is too large, the coupling efficiency is reduced.
2. In the operation process, grease on the hands of an operator and dust in the air can pollute the end face of the optical fiber.
3. Use the optic fibre adapter to make butt joint optic fibre expose in certain air for a long time, the surface can produce dust and pile up or humid air, all can make the loss of connection grow, produces the surface mar, and the fibre core can be stopped up when serious, can not transmit light, can lead to the fibre core to be burnt out by high power laser even when serious.
