Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention more apparent, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. However, it will be appreciated by those of ordinary skill in the art that numerous technical details are set forth in order to provide a better understanding of the present application in various embodiments of the present invention. However, the technical solution claimed in the present application can be implemented without these technical details and various changes and modifications based on the following embodiments.
The embodiment of the present invention relates to a display panel 100, as shown in fig. 1 and 2, including: the display device includes a foldable display layer 10, a first protection film 11 on the display layer 10, and a second protection film 12 on the first protection film 11, wherein an elastic coefficient of the first protection film 11 is higher than an elastic coefficient of the second protection film 12, and an elongation of the second protection film 12 is higher than an elongation of the first protection film 11.
Compared with the prior art, the elastic coefficient of the first protection film 11 is higher than that of the second protection film 12, wherein the elastic coefficient is used for representing compressibility, the higher the elastic coefficient is, the more easily the first protection film is compressed, so that the compressive stress can be applied to the first protection film 11, the elongation of the second protection film 12 is higher than that of the first protection film 11, wherein the elongation is used for representing ductility, the higher the elongation is, the better the ductility is, the tensile stress can be applied to the second protection film 12, so that the first protection film 11 can be pressed by bending and the second protection film 12 can be stretched by bending during the folding of the display panel 10, so that the compressive stress at the inner side of the bending part and the tensile stress at the outer side can be better released, and the problem that the display panel 10 is difficult to fold due to the overlarge compressive stress or the overlarge tensile stress is avoided, meanwhile, the foldable display panel 100 can be effectively protected, and the service life is prolonged.
In the present embodiment, the first protective film 11 and the second protective film 12 are made of the same material, and the density of the second protective film 12 is higher than the density of the first protective film 11.
Specifically, the first protection film 11 is formed by stacking first particles 111, the second protection film 12 is formed by stacking second particles 121, and the volume of the first particles 111 is greater than that of the second particles 121, in the folded state, the distance between the adjacent first particles 111 is reduced, the first particles 111 are compressed, the distance between the adjacent second particles 121 is increased, and the second particles 121 are stretched, because the first particles 111 have a larger volume and are more fluffy and easier to compress, the compression stress can be better released, the folding is facilitated, and because the volume of the second particles 121 is smaller, the number of particles in the second protection film 12 per unit area is larger, the ductility is better, the breakage is more difficult in the stretching process, and the tensile stress can be better released.
In the embodiment, the volume range of the first particles 111 is 0.065-0.52 mm in the flat state3E.g. 0.065mm3、0.1mm3、0.3mm3、0.52mm3And the volume range of the second particles 121 is 0.0005-0.113 mm3E.g. 0.0005mm3、0.001mm3、0.01mm3、0.113mm3And the distance A between the adjacent first granules 111 (the distance between the centers of the adjacent first granules 111) is in the range of 0.5 to 1mm, for example, 0.5mm, 0.65mm, 0.75mm, 1mm, and the like, and the distance B between the adjacent second granules 121 (the distance between the centers of the adjacent second granules 111) is in the range of 0.1 to 0.6mm, for example, 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and the like, wherein the first granules 111Particle 111 with second particle 121 can be spherical, and at this moment, the volume of first particle 111 with the volume of second particle 121 can be calculated by distance A and distance B, so set up, under the prerequisite of having guaranteed that display panel 100 can be folded for display panel 100 has better structural strength, thereby is difficult for folding many times because of display panel 100 and leads to display panel 100 to damage.
Preferably, the first particles 111 and the second particles 121 may be made of polyimide, and the polyimide has good elasticity, so that the first particles 111 have a large volume and a sparse texture, thereby ensuring effective compression, and the second particles 121 have a small volume and a sparse texture, thereby ensuring effective stretching.
It is understood that different materials may be used for the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12, and it is only necessary to ensure that the elastic coefficient of the first protection film 11 is higher than that of the second protection film 12, and the elongation of the second protection film 12 is higher than that of the first protection film 11.
Specifically, the material of the first protection film 11 has a higher elastic coefficient than the material of the second protection film 12, and the material of the second protection film 12 has a higher elongation than the material of the first protection film 11. Optionally, the first protection film 11 is a metal film, wherein the metal film is made of TiO with porous stainless steel as a substrate2The second protective film 12 is an organic polymer film, which may be a polymer film prepared from organic polymer materials such as epoxy resin, phenolic plastic, or melamine formaldehyde resin, and of course, the first protective film 11 and the second protective film 12 may also be made of different organic polymer materials, which is not limited herein.
It should be noted that, when the materials of the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12 are different, the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12 may be composed of particles, and the volume of the particles composing the first protection film 11 may be greater than, equal to, or even smaller than the volume of the particles composing the second protection film 12, and the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12 may also directly form a complete film without adopting a form that a plurality of particles compose a film, which is not limited herein.
In practical applications, the display layer 10 includes a front surface for displaying images and a back surface opposite to the front surface, and the first protective film 11 is located on the back surface, and at this time, the display panel 100 can be folded inwards, that is, the front surface is inside after the display panel 100 is folded, and the first protective film 11 and the second protective film 12 are sequentially outward.
In this case, the display panel 10 may not include a flexible substrate, the display layer 10 may be directly provided on the first protective film 11 (which is equivalent to using the first protective film 11 and the second protective film 12 instead of a flexible substrate in the related art), and the first protective film 11 and the second protective film 12 may be used as a substrate to provide support and a protection device, thereby reducing the number of manufacturing processes of the display panel 100 and reducing the manufacturing cost of the display panel 100. Of course, the display panel 10 may also include a flexible substrate to provide support for various film layers disposed thereon, the flexible substrate may be formed of a polymer material such as imide (PI), Polycarbonate (PC), polyether sulfone (PES), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), Polyarylate (PAR), or glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP), and the flexible substrate may be a transparent, translucent, or opaque material.
Preferably, when the first protective film 11 is located on the reverse side, the display panel 100 may further include a third protective film (not shown) located on the front side, the density of the third protective film is lower than that of the first protective film 11, and when the display panel 100 is folded inward, that is, the front side is inside after the display panel 100 is folded, the third protective film can protect the front side of the display layer 10, so as to prevent the front side of the display layer 10 from being worn during the bending process.
It should be understood that the first protection film 11 may also be disposed on the front surface, in this case, the display panel 100 may be folded outward, that is, the front surface is on the outside after the display panel 100 is folded, and the second protection film 12 and the first protection film 11 are disposed inward in sequence, and the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12 should use a material that does not affect the display image of the display layer 10, for example, some organic polymer materials with good light transmittance, such as PET material, ARM material, and the like.
Preferably, when the first protective film 11 is disposed on the front surface, the display panel 100 may also include a third protective film (not shown) having a density lower than that of the first protective film 11, except that the third protective film is disposed on the back surface, and when the display panel 100 is folded outward, that is, the front surface is outside after the display panel 100 is folded, the third protective film can protect the back surface of the display layer 10, so as to prevent the back surface of the display layer 10 from being worn during the folding process.
It is worth mentioning that the display layer 10 includes a folded region and a flat region, the first protection film 11 includes a first region 111 facing the folded region and a second region 112 facing the flat region, the density of the first regions 111 decreases gradually in a direction approaching the display layer 10, the density of the second regions 112 is uniform, and preferably, the density of the second regions 112 is greater than the density of the first regions 111, so that the first region 111 can better accommodate the stress variation during bending (the closer to the display layer 10, the greater the compressive stress, and the farther from the display layer 10, the greater the tensile stress), making folding more convenient, and, since the second regions 112 have uniform density and large density (the higher the density, the higher the structural strength, the better the supporting effect), it is possible to provide a supporting force for supporting the display layer 10.
Of course, the density of the second region 112 may be the same as that of the first region 111, and in this case, the second region 112 and the first region 111 can be simultaneously prepared (in the preparation process, one step), so that the preparation steps of the first protection film 11 are reduced, which has a cost advantage.
Optionally, the second protective film 12 may include a third region 121 facing the folding region and a fourth region 122 facing the flat region, a density of the third region 121 gradually decreases in a direction approaching the display layer 10, a density of the fourth region 122 is uniform, and preferably, the density of the fourth region 122 is greater than that of the third region 121. Of course, the density of the third region 121 may also be the same as that of the fourth region 122, and will not be described herein again.
It should be mentioned that the display panel 100 further includes a fourth protection film located on the second protection film 12, the density of the fourth protection film is greater than that of the second protection film, optionally, the display panel may further include a fifth protection film, a sixth protection film and the like located on the fourth protection film in sequence, that is, the display panel 100 includes a plurality of protection films, the density of the plurality of protection films gradually decreases along a direction close to the display layer 10, and since the density difference between the plurality of protection films is smaller than that between two protection films, the bending effect may be better.
Specifically, the display layer 10 may include a TFT layer disposed on the flexible substrate, a planarization layer disposed between the TFT layer and the anode, an organic light emitting layer disposed on the anode, a cathode disposed on the organic light emitting layer, and a pixel defining layer disposed between the anode and the cathode and surrounding the organic light emitting layer, wherein the anode and the cathode drive the organic light emitting layer together.
In another embodiment, the display panel 100 may also include a first display panel and a second display panel, and the first display panel and the second display panel may be rotatably connected.
In addition, the display panel 100 may further include a touch screen panel, a polarizing layer, and a window, which are sequentially disposed on the display panel 10, and are not particularly limited herein.
Specifically, the display panel 100 may further include a glue layer disposed between the display layer 10 and the first protection film 11, and the glue layer is used to bond the display layer 10 and the first protection film 11, but of course, the glue layer may also be disposed between the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12, so as to bond the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12.
In some embodiments, the protection structure formed by the first protection film 11 and the second protection film 12 may also be configured as a housing shape extending around the periphery, so that the display layer 10 can be directly assembled by using the self shape without providing an adhesive layer.
It will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art that the foregoing embodiments are specific examples for carrying out the invention, and that various changes in form and details may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention in practice.
