Description

Sealing element
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a sealing member, and more particularly, to a sealing member for waterproof sealing of an electric wire.
Background
In order to prevent liquid (e.g., water) from leaking into the electronic product along the wires, a seal is usually inserted into the electronic product at the interface where the wires are connected, and the wires enter the electronic product through the seal.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional sealing member. As shown in fig. 1, the conventional seal 100 is an annular rubber ring having an inner ring with a hole 11. The wire passes through the hole 11 of the inner ring of the sealing member 100 to enter the electronic product. Furthermore, the wire diameter of the wire must be larger than the hole diameter of the hole 11 of the sealing member 100, so that the wire body of the wire can be abutted against the inner ring of the sealing member 100 to be tightly fitted with the sealing member 100 when the wire passes through the hole 11 of the sealing member 100.
When the conventional wire is inserted into the conventional sealing element 100, a gap is generated between the sealing element 100 and the wire due to the pulling of the wire, which results in the sealing failure of the sealing element 100. In addition, the aperture of the conventional seal 100 can only be adapted for use with wires of a particular wire diameter. If the wire diameter is much larger than the aperture of the sealing member 100, it may be impossible for the wire to pass through the hole 11 of the sealing member 100; alternatively, if the wire diameter is too close to the diameter of the seal 100, the tightness is insufficient and the sealing effect is poor. Accordingly, the seal 100 can be developed in a variety of aperture patterns for different wire diameters.

Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention more apparent, the present invention is described in further detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings and embodiments. It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are merely illustrative of the invention and are not intended to limit the invention.
Referring to fig. 2 and fig. 3, a sealing member according to an embodiment of the invention is shown in a perspective view and a cross-sectional view. As shown in fig. 2 and 3, the sealing member 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention is a round (or square) member having elasticity, such as a round (or square) elastic member made of rubber, and is used for waterproof sealing of the electric wire 300. The seal 200 includes a body 20. The body 20 has a recessed area 21 formed in the middle thereof, and the recessed area 21 has a sealing portion 23 therein. In one embodiment of the present invention, the recessed area 21 is a circular recessed area.
A hole 230 is formed in the center of the sealing portion 23. The wire 300 will have a wire diameter larger than the bore diameter of the hole 230. The plural circles of ribs 231, 233, 235 are respectively disposed around the periphery of the hole 230, for example, the first circle of ribs 231, the second circle of ribs 233 and the third circle of ribs 235 are sequentially disposed around the periphery of the hole 230. In the illustrated embodiment of the present invention, three circles of ribs 231, 233, and 235 are taken as an example, but the present invention is not limited thereto. An annular groove is formed between the ribs 231, 233 and 235, and the top of each rib 231, 233 and 235 is in a round convex shape. The top of each ring of ribs 231, 233, 235 may also be V-shaped or trapezoidal in other suitable shapes according to various embodiments of the present invention.
Referring to fig. 4, when the sealing member 200 is to waterproof and seal the wire 300, one end of the wire 300 enters the sealing member 200 from the recessed area 21, and pushes the hole 230 of the sealing portion 23 to expand the hole 230 and pass through the sealing portion 23. Further, the seal portion 23 is deformed by the pushing of the electric wire 300, and the ribs 231, 233, 235 are pressed against the electric wire 300, so that at least one turn of the rib 231 is tightly fitted on the electric wire 300. Then, when the electric wire 300 passes through the sealing member 200, the rib 231 of the sealing portion 23 will be tightly fitted on the electric wire 300 to achieve the waterproof and sealing effects for the electric wire 300.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the electric wire 300 may also be a network wire, a power line, a telephone line, or a wire body capable of transmitting an electrical signal. In addition, the seal 200 of the present invention can be disposed in a connector to provide a waterproof seal for the wires 300 of the connector, thereby preventing liquid (e.g., water) from leaking down the wires into the connector and causing damage to the electronic product in which the connector is disposed. Of course, the sealing member 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention can be applied to other tubular members for accommodating the wires 300 besides the connector, so that the wires 300 of the electronic product can be waterproof and sealed by the sealing member 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention.
In addition, the number of turns of the ribs 231, 233 and/or 235 of the sealing part 23 tightly fitted on the electric wire 300/301 is positively correlated with the size of the wire diameter of the electric wire 300/301. Taking fig. 4 as an example, the sealing material 200 of the present invention can waterproof and seal the electric wire 300 having a small wire diameter (d 1). When the electric wire 300 having the small wire diameter (d1) is inserted through the seal 200, the seal portion 23 is deformed by the pushing of the electric wire 300, so that the rib 231 of the seal portion 23 is tightly fitted to the electric wire 300, and the electric wire 300 is sealed and waterproofed by the rib 231. Because the wire diameter of the wire 300 is small, only a small pushing force is needed, the wire 300 can prop open the hole 230 to penetrate through the sealing part 23, the deformation of the sealing part 23 will be relatively small, and only one circle of convex ribs 231 is tightly matched on the wire 300.
Alternatively, taking fig. 5 as an example, the sealing member 200 according to an embodiment of the present invention can also waterproof and seal the electric wire 301 with a larger wire diameter (d2), and since the wire diameter (d2) of the electric wire 301 is larger than the wire diameter (d1) of the electric wire 300, that is, d2> d1, the electric wire 301 needs a larger pushing force to expand the hole 230 and pass through the sealing portion 23. Applying a greater pushing force on the sealing portion 23, the sealing portion 23 will deform to a greater extent, so that more turns of the ribs 231, 233, 235 are fitted on the wire 301.
In summary, the sealing element of the invention can achieve high waterproof and sealing effects, and can realize waterproof and sealing of wires with various wire diameter sizes only by using a single type of sealing element, so as to reduce the development cost of the sealing element.
The above description is only for the purpose of illustrating the preferred embodiments of the present invention and is not to be construed as limiting the invention, and any modifications, equivalents and improvements made within the spirit and principle of the present invention are intended to be included within the scope of the present invention.
