Abstract

The invention discloses a steel slag cold-patch material, which consists of steel slag aggregate, emulsified asphalt and alkyd resin which are composed of 100-200 parts by weight of steel slag aggregate, 8-20 parts by weight of emulsified asphalt and 0.16-0.4 part by weight of alkyd resin. The cold-patch material adopting the steel slag as the main raw material overcomes the defects of low initial strength and insufficient water damage resistance of the existing cold-patch material; and the cold-patch material has the advantages of low preparation cost, simple production process and good environmental benefit.

Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of road restoration, and particularly relates to a steel slag cold-patch material and a preparation method thereof.
Background
In the technical field of road repair, a direct mat facing method, a milling and polishing new material spreading method and a patching method are used as traditional asphalt pavement repairing methods to solve the problem of damage of pavement diseases, but the three repairing methods have high repairing cost and long construction period, and the repairing result may change the original pavement structure. The front end of the prior pavement repairing technology, such as a micro surfacing technology and an on-site hot recycling repairing technology of asphalt mixture, has short construction period, and can further optimize the pavement performance on the basis of not changing the original pavement structure. However, the two road surface repairing technologies have high maintenance cost and complex process, which limits the application of the technology on ordinary roads.
The repairing technology is a hot repairing method, and is simple, mature in construction process and good in pit repairing effect. However, in the case of a road surface having a small repair amount and scattered pits, the repair method is difficult to repair and high in cost. The cold-patch material is used as a storable asphalt mixture, has the characteristic of normal and low temperature use and a rapid and convenient repairing process, and provides an effective solution for the defects in the aspect of repairing the hot-mix asphalt mixture.
The mechanical strength of the cold-patch material is mainly formed by the internal friction provided by embedding and extruding the aggregate and the cementing power of the cold patch. Therefore, the core formula of the cold-patch material is aggregate and cold-patch liquid. CN108033711A introduces an emulsified asphalt cold-patch material, wherein the aggregate is any one of basalt, limestone or dolomite, the steel slag powder is modified and then added into the cold-patch material as a filler, and the mechanical property of the system is improved through chemical bonding formed by the steel slag powder modified by hydrochloric acid and silicon dioxide hydroxyl in natural aggregate. CN108911641A introduces a mixture for rapidly repairing asphalt pavement and a repairing method thereof, which adopts waste steel slag as aggregate, but does not make a specification on the performance of the steel slag. In fact, the alkalinity of the steel slag has a direct relation with the hydration activity of the steel slag, and when the alkalinity of the steel slag is more than 2.2, the steel slag can generate obvious hydration reaction with water, so that the self-coagulation strength of a steel slag framework is formed.
At present, the cold-patch asphalt mixture is not well researched at home and abroad, and the performance characteristics of the cold-patch asphalt mixture, such as early strength, water stability and durability after cold patch repair, have larger differences from those of a hot-mix asphalt mixture. Therefore, a proper way is required to improve the performance index of the cold patch liquid, and the application of the cold patch technology in the field of road repair is significant.
Disclosure of Invention
The technical problem to be solved by the invention is as follows: the cold-patch material which takes steel slag as main aggregate and takes water-based modified alkyd resin and emulsified asphalt as main cementing material is provided, so as to overcome the defects of low initial strength and insufficient water damage resistance of the existing cold-patch material; and the cold-patch material has the advantages of low preparation cost, simple production process and good environmental benefit.
The invention adopts the following technical scheme for solving the technical problems:
the cold patching material provided by the invention comprises aggregate, emulsified asphalt and waterborne modified alkyd resin which are composed of a certain gradation, and the cold patching material comprises, by weight, 100-200 parts of the aggregate, 8-20 parts of the emulsified asphalt and 0.16-0.4 part of the waterborne modified alkyd resin.
In the scheme, the aggregate is steel slag aggregate and is prepared from converter steel slag or electric furnace steel slag. The maximum nominal grain diameter of the aggregate can be 9.5mm, 13.2mm, 16mm and 19mm, and the grading composition of the aggregate is prepared according to the requirements of the technical Specification for construction of the asphalt pavement for cold patch of the highway; and the alkalinity of the steel slag must be not less than 2.2, namely the ratio of the sum of the contents of calcium oxide and magnesium oxide in the steel slag to the content of silicon dioxide is not less than 2.2.

The main principle of the invention is as follows:
1. the steel slag as aggregate has the characteristics of better adhesion with asphalt and hydraulic activity of a steel slag framework: compared with natural rock, the components of tricalcium silicate, dicalcium silicate, tetracalcium aluminoferrite and the like in the high-alkalinity steel slag (alkalinity is more than or equal to 2.2) adopted by the invention can generate hydration reaction with water of emulsified asphalt to form C-S-H gel, so that the steel slag coarse aggregates are bonded, and the bonding strength is rapidly improved. Meanwhile, the steel slag has higher mechanical strength, and has a smaller contact angle with the matrix asphalt at the same temperature, so that the asphalt is easier to wet the surface of the steel slag, and the excellent adhesion property of the steel slag and the asphalt is embodied. In addition, the invention adopts the steel slag aggregate composition scheme with the embedding and extruding grading, when the steel slag aggregate reacts with water, firm bonding is formed between contact points of the steel slag aggregate, thereby improving the early strength of the cold-patch material; besides the hydration reaction of the minerals, substances such as free calcium oxide, free magnesium oxide and the like in the steel slag can also react with water, so that the water in the emulsified asphalt is consumed rapidly, and the cold-patch material obtains good early strength.
2. The water-based modified alkyd resin has good compatibility with emulsified asphalt, so that the cold patch can be uniformly mixed and stably stored: after the emulsified asphalt and the waterborne modified alkyd resin emulsion are mixed, small asphalt particles are aggregated and uniformly filled into a three-dimensional network structure formed by the waterborne modified alkyd resin after the emulsion is demulsified due to the action of factors such as external force and the like, the small asphalt particles are mutually crosslinked and form a firm whole, and the strength of the emulsified asphalt emulsion containing the waterborne modified alkyd resin is gradually enhanced after the water is slowly dissipated. The good compatibility of the asphalt and the waterborne modified alkyd resin is also reflected in that the asphalt particles and the polymer particles move in a staggered manner to finally form firm physical cross-linking bonds. The waterborne alkyd resin is adsorbed on the surface of asphalt particles to form a stable asphalt colloid structure; after the film is formed by the reaction and dissipation of the water in the emulsion and the related minerals, the asphalt and the alkyd resin particles can be fully contacted, the chemical bond crosslinking reaction can be further carried out, and the alkyd resin macromolecules and the asphalt micromolecules are crosslinked with each other to form a firmer whole.
Compared with the prior art, the invention has the beneficial effects that:
1. the water-based alkyd resin has high viscosity, high adhesiveness, self-drying property, high viscosity and good compatibility with emulsified asphalt, and can accelerate the drying of the cold-patch material, improve the bonding capability of the cold-patch material and the asphalt mixture and improve the strength of the cold-patch material.
2. The cold-patch material prepared by the invention can be used at normal and low temperature, has high strength and good water damage resistance, and can improve the pavement repairing quality and effectively avoid the secondary damage phenomenon after pavement repairing.
3. Most of raw materials of the cold-patch material are steel slag, the raw materials are wide in source and low in cost, the preparation process is simple, and the large-scale application of the cold-patch material can be realized; the cold-patch material prepared from the steel slag aggregate realizes effective utilization of solid waste, relieves the condition of shortage of natural high-quality aggregate, increases the types of the aggregate in the cold-patch material, and lays a good foundation for the application of the cold-patch material prepared based on the steel slag in the future.

The steel slag cold-feeding material of the present invention will be further illustrated with reference to the following examples, but the present invention is not limited to the following examples.
In the following examples, waterborne modified alkyd resins were prepared with reference to CN 201610551935.8. The model of the adopted emulsified asphalt is BC-1-SS, which is provided by the highly new materials GmbH of the North lake. The steel slag is from the metallurgy technology limited of Jinshenlan, Hubei, and the concrete gradation is shown in Table 1.

As can be seen from the test results in Table 2, the residual stability and the freeze-thaw cleavage tensile strength ratio of the 4 cold-patch materials obtained in examples 1 to 3 and the comparative example are all kept at a high level, which indicates that the steel slag cold-patch material provided by the invention has good water damage resistance and high strength. Among them, the alkyd resin added in example 3 is the most, so that the strength is the highest, and the water resistance and the cohesiveness are the best in all the examples; the comparative example, which contained only emulsified asphalt without alkyd resin, had the lowest residual stability and freeze-thaw split tensile strength ratio. The steel slag cold-patch material scheme provided by the invention has the advantages of high early strength, good system stability, difficulty in segregation and the like.
