Abstract
The invention discloses a driving method, a driving device and a display device of a display panel, wherein the driving method of the display panel comprises the following steps: detecting the frame rate of a display picture in a display panel; determining a target overdrive value according to the frame rate of the display picture; and driving the display panel according to the target overdrive value. The technical scheme of the invention can solve the problem of smear of the display picture of the display panel.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of display technologies, and in particular, to a driving method and a driving apparatus for a display panel, and a display apparatus.
Background
The liquid crystal display displays different pictures by applying different driving voltages to liquid crystal molecules to rotate the liquid crystal molecules in different directions. However, since the rotation of the liquid crystal molecules requires a certain response time, the shorter the response time is, the more slight the smear of the display screen is, and the longer the response time is, the more serious the smear of the display screen is.
In order to solve the problem of the image smear of the display panel, the liquid crystal is usually driven by an Over Driver (OD) to reach the desired deflection direction in a short time, i.e. a voltage larger than the voltage to be displayed is applied to the display panel to accelerate the turning speed of the liquid crystal molecules. The overdrive technique is generally implemented by a timing controller, where an overdrive lookup table is preset in a memory inside the timing controller, and when the timing controller is powered on, the timing controller reads data from the memory to calculate an overdrive value, and drives the display panel according to the calculated overdrive value, for example, when the gray scale of the previous frame is 32, the gray scale of the current frame is 128, and the gray scale of 144 is actually output.
However, in the actual working process, the frame rate of the display screen of the display panel changes, and at this time, the overdrive lookup table corresponding to the original frame rate is still operated, so that the display effect is poor.
Disclosure of Invention
The embodiment of the invention provides a driving method, a driving device and a display device of a display panel, and aims to solve the problem of smear of a display picture of the display panel.

It should be understood that the specific embodiments described herein are merely illustrative of the invention and are not intended to limit the invention.
The main solution of the embodiment of the invention is as follows: detecting the frame rate of a display picture in a display panel; determining a target overdrive value according to the frame rate of the display picture; and driving the display panel according to the target overdrive value.
According to the technical scheme, the frame rate of the display picture of the display panel is detected, when the frame rate of the display picture is changed, the target overdrive value is determined according to the frame rate of the display picture, the display panel is driven by the determined target overdrive value, and the display panel is guaranteed to have a high-quality display effect under different frame rates.
According to the technical scheme, the driving method of the display panel is applied to a driving device of the display panel, the driving device of the display panel is arranged in a system chip, namely calculation processing of an overdrive value is achieved in the system chip, and the system chip can be selected as an SOC chip and is a chip of an integrated circuit. The invention arranges the driving device of the display panel in the system chip, and stores the overdrive lookup table in the memory of the system chip by using the large-capacity memory of the system chip, thereby saving the storage space of the time schedule controller in the display device and reducing the cost of the time schedule controller. After the frame rate of the display screen is detected, the target overdrive value may be determined according to the frame rate of the display screen, for example, if the frame rate of the display screen is not changed, the corresponding overdrive value may be determined from an overdrive lookup table in a memory of the system chip. The gain value can be used to determine whether the frame rate of the display screen is high or low, and for example, if the normal refresh frequency of the display screen is 60Hz, and the detected refresh frequency of the display screen is also 60Hz, indicating that the refresh frequency of the display screen has not changed, the gain value is 1.

When the frame rate of the display frame is consistent with the preset frame rate, the overdrive value corresponding to the preset frame rate can be determined from the overdrive lookup table in the memory of the system chip, and the operation is simple.
Step S25, the overdrive value is set as the target overdrive value.
The obtained overdrive value is used as the target overdrive value, i.e. the overdrive look-up table is run with the refresh frequency before the change.

In order to normally drive the display panel to work, after the target overdrive value is obtained, the target overdrive value is stored in the overdrive lookup table and is output after being compressed by the memory, so that the space of the memory is saved, and the cost of the memory is reduced.

The invention also provides a driving device of the display panel.
Referring to fig. 4, the driving apparatus of the display panel is disposed in a system chip, and the driving apparatus of the display panel includes:
a frame rate detection device 20 configured to detect a frame rate of a display screen in the display panel 10;
the frame rate of the display screen represents the refresh frequency of the display screen, namely the refresh frequency of two frames before and after the display screen. By detecting the frame rate of the display picture, when the frame rate of the display picture changes, the system can adaptively adjust the overdrive value so as to ensure the quality of the display picture. a gain value calculation device 301 configured to calculate a gain value according to a frame rate of the display screen;
the gain value is the ratio of the frame rate of the display picture to the preset frame rate.
