Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a water play set comprising at least one member having an upper handle for manual gripping and a base on which the handle extends.
It is particularly suitable for use with a game apparatus intended to be immersed in a swimming pool, particularly in an athletic environment adapted to aquatic environments or learning to swim.
To this end, the base is equipped with at least one suction cup for connecting the member to the submerged wall of the tank, the handle enabling the user to keep himself submerged, in particular at the bottom of the tank, and thus move under water for a few seconds, while holding the breath.
Background
A grip handle that can be attached to the wall of a swimming pool is known, for example from document US 5613457, said grip handle comprising a plastic handle under which a set of elastomeric suction cups is mounted adhering to said wall.
In particular, this document provides for connecting a plurality of suction cups under the handle, which is not entirely satisfactory both in terms of ease of assembly and reliability of holding the suction cups under the handle.
In fact, in order to be able to be connected to the submerged wall by suction, the suction cups are made of a flexible material that cannot be easily and reliably fixed under the handle, which is rigid for enabling the function.
The present invention aims to improve the prior art by proposing in particular a water play device that can be assembled in a simple manner while ensuring a mechanical cohesion between the handle and the suction cup, in particular in connection with keeping the user immersed.
Disclosure of Invention
To this end, the invention proposes a water play device comprising at least one element having an upper handle for manual gripping and a base on which said handle extends, said base being equipped with at least one suction cup for connecting said element to the immersion wall of a swimming pool, the element being formed by the assembly of two shells, at least one of which has at least a base portion, said two shells being arranged so that their assembly ensures that at least one support carrying the at least one suction cup is fixed to the base.
Drawings
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the following description, given with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 shows in perspective a model of a water play apparatus according to an embodiment of the invention;
figure 2 is a perspective view from inside the casing of the member in figure 1, on which two suction cup supports are mounted;
figure 3 is an exploded view from below of the member of figure 1.
Detailed Description
With reference to these figures, a description is given below of a water play device, particularly for submersion in a swimming pool, particularly in the context of an aquatic environment or a sport for learning swimming.
The water play set comprises at least one member 1, the member 1 having an upper handle 2 for manual gripping and at least one base on which the handle extends. In particular, the water play set may comprise two members 1, each of which may be used by one hand of a user.
The member 1 allows the user to keep himself immersed, in particular at the bottom of a swimming pool, and thus move underwater for a few seconds, while holding his breath. To this end, the base 3 is equipped with at least one suction cup 4 for connecting the member 1 to the submerged wall of the swimming pool. Thus, after the member 1 is connected, the user can use the handle 2 so as not to rise back to the surface quickly due to the air contained in his lungs.
In the embodiment shown, the member 1 has a C-shaped geometry, the central part of the C-shape forming a handle 2, the handle 2 connecting base sections formed at each end of the handle, respectively a left side 3a and a right side 3 b. In a variant not shown, the member 1 may comprise a continuous bottom 3, for example with a C-shaped geometry, the arms of the C forming said bottom and the handle 2, respectively.
The component 1 has a support 5, the support 5 carrying at least one suction cup 4, in particular by being made integral therewith. In particular, the support 5 has a plate 5a, below which plate 5a at least one suction cup 4 is formed.
Advantageously, at least the suction cup 4 is made of a flexible material, such as silicone, thermoplastic elastomer, or polyvinyl chloride. According to one embodiment, the plate 5a and the suction cup 4 are obtained by injecting liquid silicone or by compressing silicone glue.
Referring to the figures, a plurality of supports 5 are fixed to the base 3, each base section 3a, 3b being equipped with a support 5 carrying a plurality of suction cups 4, in particular three suction cups 4. Thus, even in the case of immersion in a wall that is locally uneven, for example due to a brick-laid wall, the at least one suction cup 4 can be attached to said wall. As a variant, the support 5 may be formed by the base of a single suction cup 4.
The member 1 is formed by the assembly of two shells 1a, 1b, at least one of which has at least one base 3 portion 6, arranged so that their assembly ensures that at least one support 5 carrying at least one suction cup 4 is fixed to the base 3. Thus, the assembly of the component 1 is simplified, in particular because the fixing of the support 5 requires no further operations than the assembly of the housings 1a, 1 b.
Preferably, as regards the function of keeping the user underwater, each shell 1a, 1b is made in a single piece based on a rigid material, in particular based on a thermoplastic polymer such as polypropylene or impact polystyrene (ABS). The rigidity of the housings 1a, 1b thus serves to secure the support 5, in particular without any additional means such as gluing.
In the embodiment shown, the two housings 1a, 1b each have a base 3 portion 6 and a handle 2 portion 7. As a variant, the handle 2 may be formed on one housing 1a, 1b or carried to an assembly of the two housings 1a, 1 b. According to another variant, the casing 1a, 1b, without the handle 2 portion 7 and the base 3 portion 6, is mechanically assembled to the base 3 portion 6 of the other casing 1b, 1a, so as to ensure the fixing of the support 5 to the base 3 thus formed.
The two shells 1a, 1b shown are substantially symmetrical with respect to a point placed in the middle plane of the member 1. In particular, each housing 1a, 1b forms half of the member 1, in particular a handle portion 7 and a base 3 portion 6 forming half of the handle 2 and half of the base 3, respectively.
Referring to the figures, the handle 2 portions 7 each have an arcuate geometry with an outer gripping surface 8 and an inner surface 9, the inner surface being arranged for a splice assembly towards the inner surface 9 of the other handle 2 portion 7. In particular, the handle 2 portion 7 has a curved section over which a convex outer gripping surface 8 and a concave inner surface 9 respectively extend.
The handle 2 portion 7 includes a male mechanical assembly and a female mechanical assembly, respectively. In particular, the inner side surface 9 is equipped with a pin for entering into a groove 10 of the other inner side surface 9, the assembly thus achieved being able to be made reliable by perimetric welding of the engagement of said inner side surfaces.
Likewise, the base 3 portion 6 is shown to include male and female mechanical assemblies, respectively, in the form of pin-and-slot 10 pairs formed on the inside surface of each of the left and right sections of the base 3 portion 6.
Referring to fig. 3, the bottom 3 portions 6 each have a lower structural member 11, the lower structural members 11 being configured to form a bottom wall of the base 3 by being assembled with the lower structural members 11 of the other base 3 portion 6. The support 5 can thus be fixed to the base 3 by means of a geometric fit of the lower structural parts 11 of the portions 6 of the base 3, in particular by making the lower structural parts 11 have a complementary shape such that they can be fitted together with one another.
The lower structural part 11 of one base 3 part 6 has a tongue 12 and the lower structural part 11 of the other base 3 part 6 has a groove 13 in which the assembled tongue is arranged, the assembly of the tongue 12 in its groove 13 ensuring the fixing of the support 5.
In fig. 3, the left section of one bottom part 3, part 6, is complementary to the right section of said bottom part, that is to say has a tongue 12 and a groove 13, respectively.
Furthermore, the lower structural part 11 of the base 3 portion 6 comprises locking means for locking the assembly of the lower structural part, in particular in the form of lateral ribs 14, for the stabilization of the tongue 12 in its groove 13 and thus the fixing of the support 5 at their interface.
Advantageously, at least one bottom 3 portion 6 has at least one recess forming a cavity in which the boss of the support 5 is retained by the base 3, by the assembly of the housings 1a, 1 b.
With reference to fig. 3, the tongue 12 and the groove 13 have a semi-cylindrical recess 15 forming a cavity in which is clamped a projection formed at the junction between the suction cup 4 and the plate 5a of the support 5. In particular, the plate 5a is equipped with a central suction cup 4a held between the tongue 12 and its groove 13, and with two side suction cups 4b held in cavities respectively formed by semi-cylindrical recesses 15, said semi-cylindrical recesses 15 being contiguous with said tongue and said groove.
The embodiment shown proposes a support 5, if desired irrespective of the raised portion formed at the bottom of the suction cup 4, the plate 5a of the support 5 being provided with ribs 16, the ribs 16 being intended to be retained in the cavity of the base 3. To this end, each bottom 3 portion 6 has a lateral recess 17, a rib 16 being formed on the outer edge of the plate 5a so as to be clamped in the cavity formed by the assembly of said recesses.
