The description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention is merely illustrative of the general principles of the invention. The invention will be described in further detail with reference to the drawings and examples.
As shown in fig. 1 to 7, an electronic cigarette according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is shown. The electronic cigarette comprises a housing assembly 10, a pack 20, a control circuit 30 and a pushing device 40.
A cartridge 20 is supported in the housing assembly 10 for storing a predetermined amount of liquid solution.
The control circuit 30 comprises a main microprocessor 31 and is electrically connected to the cartridge 20 for controlling the evaporation of the liquid solution.
The pushing device 40 includes an atomizer 41, a suction nozzle 42, and a pushing member 43. A nebulizer 41 is movably supported in the housing assembly 10 for vaporizing a liquid solution removed from the cartridge 20.
The suction nozzle 42 is connected to the atomizer 41 and is movably supported in the housing assembly 10.
The pushing member 43 is movably mounted to the housing assembly 10 and operates between a rest position in which the pushing member 43 is moved to retain the atomizer 41 and the suction nozzle 42 to the housing assembly 10 and a pushing position in which the pushing member 43 is moved relative to the housing assembly 10 to expose at least the suction nozzle 42 to the exterior of the housing assembly 10 for inhalation by a user.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the electronic cigarette comprises a housing assembly 10, the housing assembly 10 comprising a main housing 11, the main housing 11 having an elongated structure to resemble an elongated structure of a cigarette. The pack 20 is housed in the main housing 11 to store a predetermined quantity of liquid solution, which is then atomized to produce atomized vapor for inhalation by the user.
The housing assembly 10 further includes a plurality of end caps 12 disposed on the free end 112 of the main housing 11. The main housing 11 has a receiving chamber 111 formed therein, wherein an end cap 112 is arranged to selectively open and close the receiving chamber 111. The cartridge 20 and the control circuit 30 are generally housed in the housing 111 and protected by the housing assembly 10.
The housing assembly 10 further includes a plurality of (but at least one) resilient members 14 for normally applying an urging force to the end cap 12 to normally hold the end cap 12 closed to the receiving cavity 111. The end cap 12 is pivotally movable to open the receiving cavity 111 to allow the atomizer 41 and the mouthpiece 42 to extend out of the housing assembly 10.
As shown in fig. 3 and 5, the housing assembly 10 further includes a holding frame 15 accommodated in the main housing 11. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the holding frame 15 comprises a plurality of pieces of holding members 151 connected to the end caps 12, while the elastic elements 14 are connected to the holding members 151, respectively. The retaining member 151 is arranged to slide relative to the main housing 11 and is normally pulled to retain the end cap 12 to close the receiving cavity 111. The elastic element 14 is provided at a lower portion of the main housing 11, and the holding member 151 is provided between the end cap 12 and the elastic element 14. Therefore, when the elastic element 14 applies a normal pulling force to the holding member 151, the holding member 151 pulls the end cap 12 to close the receiving chamber 111.
As shown in fig. 2, the e-cigarette further comprises a support frame 50 accommodated in the accommodation cavity 111 of the housing assembly 10, wherein at least some of the cigarette packs 20, the control circuit 30 and the pushing device 40 are supported by the support frame 50. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the pack 20 and the control circuit 30 are also supported by a support frame 50, the support frame 50 being housed in the housing cavity 111 of the housing assembly 10.
The pushing device 40 further comprises a plurality of sliding members 44 slidably mounted on the support frame 50, wherein the sliding members 44 are engaged with the pushing members 43 such that when the pushing members 43 slide relative to the support frame 50, the pushing members 43 are arranged to drive the sliding members 44 to slide in the same direction relative to the support frame 50.
Thus, the support frame 50 has a plurality of slide rails 51 arranged to slidably engage the slide members 44, respectively. Accordingly, when the sliding member 44 is driven by the pushing member 43, the sliding member 44 can slide along the slide rail 51 of the support frame 50. As shown in fig. 3-6, the slide rail 51 is disposed along the longitudinal axis of the support frame 50 such that the sliding member 44 may also be driven to slide along the longitudinal axis of the support frame 50.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the packet 20 is connected to a nebulizer 41, the nebulizer 41 then being connected to a suction nozzle 42. When the pushing members 43 are in the rest position, they are all accommodated in the accommodation chamber 111 of the main casing 11. The sliding member 44 is connected to the atomizer 41 and arranged to push its operation when the sliding member 44 slides along the slide rail 51 to a predetermined position.
As shown in fig. 5, the support frame 50 may be accommodated in the accommodating chamber 111. On the other hand, the pushing member 43 is movably connected to the front side 53 of the support frame 50. The support frame 50 also has an actuation slot 54, while the push member 43 has a drive latch 431, the drive latch 431 being arranged to engage in the actuation slot 54 such that when the push member 43 is driven to slide relative to the housing assembly 10, the support frame 50 also slides relative to the housing assembly 10. Note that the side walls of the slide rail 51 of the support frame 50 are provided to apply a biasing force to the slide member 44 such that when the support frame 50 is driven to slide, the slide member 44 is also driven to slide along the slide rail 51.
The main housing 11 of the housing assembly 10 also has a receiving slot 13 aligned with the drive latch 431 such that the drive latch 431 is configured to engage the actuation slot 54 of the support frame 50 by passing through the receiving slot 13.
Each slide member 44 has an elongated structure and has a stopper 441 protruding at a middle portion of the corresponding slide member 44. Further, each slide member 44 has a pressing portion 442, and when the activating member 43 is in the rest position, the switch 411 of the atomizer 41 is arranged to be pressed by the pressing portion 442, and the atomizer 41 is turned off.
The main housing 11 has a plurality of limit grooves 55 respectively aligned with the slide rails 51 for limiting further sliding of the sliding member 44 in the slide rails 51. As shown in fig. 3 to 4, the limit grooves 55 are provided on the front portion 112 of the main housing 11, wherein the stoppers 441 are provided to protrude from the slide member 44 to slidably engage with the limit grooves 55, respectively. When the sliding member 44 slides, the stopper 441 will also slide until the stopper 441 reaches the end of the limit groove 55. When the stop 441 reaches the end of the limit groove 55, further sliding of the slider 44 portion relative to the housing assembly 10 will be limited. However, when the sliding member 44 is stopped, the support frame 50 may be further slid so that the atomizer 41 and the suction nozzle 42 protrude out of the housing assembly 10.
The operation of the invention is as follows: the pushing member 43 is normally in the rest position such that the sliding member 44 is arranged to depress the switch 411 of the atomizer 41. When the switch 411 is depressed, the atomizer 41 is turned off. When a user wishes to activate the e-cigarette of the present invention, he or she needs to manually push the activating member 43 to drive the support frame 50 and the slider 44 to slide toward the end cap 12. When the stopper 441 reaches an end (e.g., an upper end) of the limit groove 55, the slide member 44 stops further sliding along the slide rail 51. At the same time, however, the support frame 50 may continue to slide relative to the housing assembly 10, while the retention frame 15 may eventually push the end cap 12 open. Thus, the suction nozzle 42 and the atomizer 41 may partially protrude outside the housing assembly 10. Further, when the atomizer 41 is pushed and partially protrudes out of the housing assembly 10, the switch 411 is set to be released because further sliding of the sliding member 44 is prevented, and the sliding member 44 remains stationary in the slide rail 51. The depressed portion 442 of the slide member 44 is disengaged from the atomizer 41, and releases the switch 411. The atomizer 41 is then switched on, starting to atomize the liquid in the cartridge 20.
When the user has finished using the e-cigarette, he or she may manually slide the activation member 43 back to the original rest position. The support frame 50, atomizer 41 and suction nozzle 42 will retract back into the housing assembly 10 and the end cap 12 will close again due to the normal pulling force exerted by the resilient element 14 through the holding frame 15. Further, when the support frame 50 is slid back to the original position, the slide member 44 will also slide along the slide rail 51 until the pressing down portion 442 is pressed against the switch 411 of the atomizer 41 again. In this position the atomizer 41 will switch off again. Note that the activating member 43 and the support frame 50 may remain slid relative to the housing assembly 10 until the activating member 43 returns to the initial rest position. Further sliding of the sliding member 44 will also be limited by the other end (e.g., lower end) of the limit groove 55.
With the above configuration, the user can activate the fully covered suction nozzle 42 by using his single hand when needed. When the e-cigarette is not in use, the mouthpiece 42 and the atomizer 41 are protected in the housing assembly 10.
While the invention has been illustrated and described in terms of a preferred embodiment and several alternatives, the invention is not limited by the specific description herein. Other alternative or equivalent components may also be used in the practice of the present invention.
