executing an attachment procedure, wherein the UE is attached to a network;
a Public Data Network (PDN) gateway (gateway, GW) sends downlink Data to a Service-gateway (S-GW);
S-GW sends a downlink data notification to a Mobile Management Entity (MME);
MME sends downlink data notification Acknowledgement (ACK) to S-GW;
the MME performs paging messages to all base stations (e.g. evolved node Bs (eNBs)) in the UE registration area;
the base station pages the UE by broadcasting paging messages;
after receiving the broadcasted paging message, the UE executes a service request process;
S-GW, MME and base station stop paging;
and after the UE is paged, the downlink data is sent to the UE.
Obviously, the paging of the UE is performed in the whole registration area where the UE needs to be registered, and there are many base stations or cells that need paging messages, so the paging overhead is obviously high.

Detailed Description
The technical solution of the present invention is further described in detail with reference to the drawings and the specific embodiments of the specification.
As shown in fig. 2, the present embodiment provides a paging method, applied in an AMF, including:
step S110: acquiring an exclusive paging strategy of User Equipment (UE);
step S120: paging the UE in a first area of a registration area of the UE according to the dedicated paging strategy;
step S130: and paging the UE in a second area of the registration area when the paging in the first area fails, wherein the first area and the second area are different sub-areas in the registration area.
In this embodiment, the registration area of the UE is divided into a first area and a second area; the first area and the second area are different sub-areas within a registration area of the UE. The UE appears in the first area more frequently than in the second area according to the daily activity range of the UE. Or the duration of the UE in the first area is longer than that in the second area. The probability of paging the UE in the first area is higher than the probability of paging the UE in the second area.
In this embodiment, when the UE needs to be paged, the UE is preferentially paged in the first area, and when the UE is not successfully paged in the first area, the UE is paged in the second area. Compared with the prior art, the UE is directly paged in the whole registration area of the UE, and because the UE is paged only in the first area with high probability, a large amount of unnecessary paging of the second area can be reduced, thereby reducing the paging overhead of the UE on the whole.
In step S110, the AMF may locally query the dedicated paging policy of the UE, and if the dedicated paging policy of the UE is not queried locally, the AMF may query the PCF for the dedicated paging policy of the UE by sending a policy request to the PCF.
In some embodiments, the step S120 may include at least one of:
according to the exclusive paging strategy, the UE is paged in a private network of the UE, wherein the private network paging area is an area covered by a private network accessed by the UE;
paging the UE in a special paging zone of the UE according to the dedicated paging strategy, wherein the special paging zone is determined based on statistical analysis of behavior data of the UE.
In this embodiment, the first area may be the private network paging area or a special paging area determined based on UE behavior data statistics. The second area may be an area other than the first area within the registration area of the UE.
The private network may be a network corresponding to an end-to-end network slice. The communication network may include: a wireless domain, a core network domain, a transmission domain, etc. The wireless domain may include one or more base stations, or, at least one Residential Access Network (RAN), and the core Network domain may include: MME, GW, AMF, SMF, PCF and other network functional network elements. The end-to-end network slice may include: the sub-network slices located in the radio domain, core network domain and transmission domain of the communication network, through which the terminal can obtain the whole specific service. In this embodiment, the end-to-end network slice is referred to as a private network, and is generally a network with a specific use or used for specific service transmission, and in a wireless domain, the network slice generally corresponds to a part of base stations in a registration area of the UE.
If the UE accesses a private network, it is obvious that the probability of using the private network by the UE is very high, and the probability of being located in the coverage area of the wireless domain of the private network is higher than the probability of being located in other areas. Therefore, in this embodiment, the coverage area of the radio domain of the private network accessed by the UE may be defined as the private network paging area. If the first area is the private network paging area, the UE is directly paged in the private network paging area of the UE, and compared with the paging success rate of paging the UE outside the private network paging area, the paging success rate is higher, in this way, the private network paging area is paged preferentially, unnecessary paging outside the private network paging area can be obviously reduced, and therefore the cost for paging the UE is reduced.
In some embodiments, a Network element on the Network side, for example, a Network analysis logic function (NWDA) Network element, analyzes the behavior Data of the UE to generate a statistical analysis result of the behavior Data. The behavioral data of the UE may include: mobility management of the UE, etc., may determine which areas the UE frequently accesses the network, or in which areas the network is used, and then determine a special paging area according to the behavior data of the UE, where the special paging area is an area where the UE frequently appears, and the probability of paging the UE in the area is very high. For example, the areas where the UE is frequently present in the current time period, and the areas where the UE is frequently present in the evening and the daytime may be different, so that when a specific paging area is determined, the UE needs to be distinguished according to the time period. Therefore, if the first area is defined as the special paging area, there is a high probability that the UE will be paged only in the special paging area, thereby avoiding paging in areas other than the special paging area. For example, the number of times of data transmission by the UE using the base station or the cell within a predetermined time is counted, the number of times is ranked, and one or more base stations and one or more cells ranked in the top are selected to construct the special paging area. In short, the embodiment may form the dedicated paging policy of the UE according to the statistical analysis result of the behavior data of the UE.
Further, the step S120 may include:
paging the UE in the special paging area according to the exclusive paging strategy;
paging the UE in the private network paging area when the UE is not successfully paged in the special paging area, wherein the private network paging area is larger than the special paging area.
In this embodiment, the paging is performed hierarchically in the first area, for example, the UE is paged in the ad hoc paging area first, and the UE is paged in the entire private network paging area only when the UE is not paged successfully in the ad hoc paging area.
In some embodiments, if the special paging area overlaps with the private network paging area, when paging the private network paging area, paging may be performed only in an area outside the overlapping area in the private network paging area.
In other embodiments, if the special paging area and the private paging area do not overlap, the paging is performed directly in the whole private paging area after the paging in the special paging area fails.
In this embodiment, the private network paging area is larger than the special paging area, and paging is performed in a special paging area with higher probability of being paged and lower paging overhead, which obviously reduces unnecessary paging in the private network paging area, thereby further reducing the paging overhead of the UE.
Optionally, the method further comprises:
receiving a registration request of the UE;
acquiring a private network ID (identity) requested to be accessed by the UE based on the registration request;
identifying whether the UE has the authority to access the private network pointed by the private network ID;
the acquiring of the dedicated paging strategy of the User Equipment (UE) comprises:
and when the UE has the authority to access the private network pointed by the private network ID, receiving the exclusive paging strategy from the PCF corresponding to the SUPI of the UE.
In this embodiment, if the UE needs to attach to the network after being powered on, the UE sends a registration request to a network element on the network side through the base station. Such an AMF may receive a registration request of the UE through a base station (e.g., eNB or next generation base station (Ng-RAN)). In the embodiment of the present invention, if the AMF receives the registration request, the private network ID of the private network to which the UE requests to access is obtained, where the private network ID may be any information indicating a name and/or a number of the corresponding private network.
For example, the AMF may query, from another network element, a private network ID of a private network to which the UE requests to access, or extract the private network ID from the registration request. Here, the other network element may be a next generation base station.
And after determining the private network ID which the UE requests to access or allows to access, performing authority identification on whether the UE has the authority to access to the corresponding private network.
For example, whether the corresponding UE has the right to access to the RAN to which the UE requests access is identified by the current private network ID.
For example, the AMF may further obtain Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (NSSAI) and/or a Subscription persistent Identifier (SUPI) of the UE. And if the NSSAI of the UE is matched with the private network ID, if the matching is successful, the UE is considered to have the authority to access the corresponding private network, otherwise, the UE is considered to have no authority to access.
For another example, if the NSSAI provided by the UE matches the private network ID, then further querying, according to the SUPI provided by the UE, whether the UE has the right to access to the private network through the current RAN, if so, determining that the UE has the right, otherwise, considering that the UE has no right.
The NSSAI and the SUPI can be provided by the UE requesting registration, and authority identification is carried out through matching of the NSSAI and the SUPI and the private network ID.
In other embodiments, the UE may not be able to provide NSSAI itself, and the NSSAI of the UE may be obtained by querying a subscription database of the UE.
The step of authority authentication may be completed by the AMF itself, or the AMF may request other network elements to assist in completing the step. For example, in some embodiments, the authenticating whether the UE has permission to access the private network pointed to by the private network ID includes:
sending the private network ID to the UDM;
and receiving a permission authentication result which is sent by the Unified Data Management (UDM) and generated based on the private network ID.
For example, the UDM may query a private network ID of a private network accessible to the UE, generate an authorization result indicating that the UE has authorization to access if the private network ID of the private network to which the UE requests to access is the private network ID of the private network to which the UE is allowed, and generate an authorization result indicating that the UE does not have authorization to access if the private network ID of the private network to which the UE requests to access is not the private network ID of the private network to which the UE is allowed to access.
In some scenarios, the UDM may locally query a private network ID of a private network that the UE may allow access to. And if the UDM does not locally inquire the private network ID of the private network which the UE requests to access, the UDM inquires the private network ID of the private network which the UE allows to access from other network elements such as a subscription database and the like so as to generate the authority identification result. In this embodiment, the other network element may be a predetermined server providing services for the private network. The predetermined server may be a third-party server, and the business service of the predetermined server needs to be provided with communication service by a corresponding private network, and the like. The predetermined server may be an enterprise server, for example, the enterprise server may provide live broadcast data, and may perform data transmission by a corresponding private network, and if the UDM does not store a private network ID of a private network to which the UE requests access, the UDM may query, to the predetermined server corresponding to the private network ID, whether the UE has an authority to access.
The UDM is based on NSSAI, SUPI, and the authority authentication for private network ID to authenticate whether the UE can attach to the network through the RAN may be as follows:
if the UE has NSSAI, comparing whether NSSAI is matched with the private network ID, and if not, the UE does not have the right to access the private network;
if the UE does not provide NSSAI, the UDM acquires the NSSAI of the UE by inquiring the subscription information, and compares whether the NSSAI is matched with the private network ID, if not, the UE is not authorized to access the private network
If NSSAI is matched with private network ID, then the private server corresponding to private network inquires whether the UE is authorized to access private network through the RAN based on SUPI.
And the AMF receives the authority identification result provided by the UDM. The AMF determines whether to allow registration of the UE based on the permission authentication result. If the UE is allowed to register to the corresponding private network, in step S110, for facilitating subsequent paging, the AMF may include:
selecting a PCF according to the SUPI of the UE;
the dedicated paging policy is requested from the PCF. The dedicated paging policy is used for the AMF to page the UE in the first area, and the dedicated paging policy may include, but is not limited to, the following information: the indication information of the special paging area, the indication information of the exclusive paging area and the indication information of the whole registration area. In some embodiments, the dedicated paging strategy further comprises: paging priorities corresponding to the respective paging zones, or indication information indicating a paging order. The dedicated paging policy may indicate: and paging the UE in a special paging area with the highest priority, paging the UE in the private network paging area with the second highest priority, and paging the UE in a full registration area with the lowest priority.
The special paging area is an area where the UE is frequently absent in the current time period. For example, the UE often appears in an area in the current time period, the UE often appears in an area a at night, and the UE often appears in an area B during the day; then the ad hoc paging zone during the day may cover area a and the ad hoc paging zone during the night may cover area B.
In some embodiments, the dedicated paging policy is issued as a part of access and mobility policies issued by the PCF to the AMF, so that the AMF does not need to specially request the dedicated paging policy, and can acquire all the policies of access and mobility management of the UE at one time through the request of the access and mobility policies, thereby reducing the number of information interaction between the AMF and the PCF and reducing signaling overhead.
As shown in fig. 3, this embodiment provides a method for issuing a paging policy, which is applied in PCF and includes:
step S210: receiving a policy request sent by an AMF;
step S220: and sending an exclusive paging strategy corresponding to User Equipment (UE) to the AMF based on the strategy request, wherein the exclusive paging strategy is used for the AMF to page the UE preferentially in a first area.
The paging strategy issuing method applied to the PCF provided by the embodiment stores the paging strategy corresponding to the UE in the PCF.
In this embodiment, the PCF receives a policy request from the AMF, where the policy request may be a dedicated request for the paging policy, or may be a policy request for requesting other policies at the same time, for example, the AMF requests the PCF for a charging policy and a paging policy at the same time. In this embodiment, the policy request may include: the PCF can inquire the exclusive paging strategy of the UE based on the identification information of the UE. In this embodiment, the dedicated paging strategy may cause the AMF to page the UE preferentially in the first area, and page the UE in a second area other than the first area if the UE is not paged in the first area. In summary, in step S220, a dedicated paging policy of the corresponding UE is issued to the AMF based on the policy request.
Alternatively, as shown in fig. 4, the S220 may include:
step S221: determining whether an exclusive paging strategy for storing the UE exists locally;
step S222: when the dedicated paging strategy of the UE is not cached locally, generating a dedicated paging strategy carrying a private network Identification (ID) of a private network to which the UE requests to access, wherein the private network ID is used for the AMF to page the UE in a private network paging area corresponding to the private network to which the UE accesses;
step S223: and sending the generated exclusive paging strategy to the AMF.
In this embodiment, the PCF determines whether the dedicated paging policy of the UE is stored locally, and if the dedicated paging policy of the UE is stored, the PCF directly issues the locally stored dedicated paging policy to the AMF. In this embodiment, if the dedicated paging policy is not stored locally in the PCF, the dedicated network ID of the private network to which the UE requests to access is carried in the dedicated paging policy and issued to the AMF, so that if the AMF receives the dedicated network ID of the private network to which the UE requests to access, the UE is paged preferentially in the private network identified by the dedicated network ID. At this time, the area where the private network indicated by the private network ID is located is the first area.
Optionally, the method further comprises:
requesting a statistical analysis result of the behavior data of the UE from the NWDA when an exclusive paging strategy of the UE is not stored locally;
determining a special paging area of the UE according to the statistical analysis result; wherein the ad hoc paging zone is smaller than the private network paging zone;
and generating an exclusive paging strategy of the UE according to the special paging area.
And if the PCF does not store the exclusive paging strategy of the UE, the PCF acquires the behavior data of the UE and then determines the special paging area of the UE according to the behavior data of the UE. The statistical analysis result of the UE behavior data may be the frequency of a private network or a cell or a base station actually accessed by the UE, so as to determine the special paging area. If the specific paging area of the UE is determined, a dedicated paging policy of the UE may be generated, and the dedicated paging policy of the UE may include: the area identification of the special paging area of the UE, in some embodiments, the dedicated paging policy further includes: the identification information of the UE corresponding to the special paging area is convenient for the follow-up AMF identification and the PCF inquiry.
In some cases, the PCF requests the NWDA for the statistical analysis result, and if the NWDA returns a failure, it may be that the NWDA lacks the behavior data of the UE, so that the statistical analysis result is not generated, so in this embodiment, the PCF reports the current behavior data of the UE to the NWDA, so that the NWDA may give a statistical analysis result based on the current behavior data acquired this time to assist the PCF in determining the special paging area, or generate an exclusive paging area.
The current behavior data of the UE may include: the current geographical location of the UE and/or the attached wireless network.

The computer storage medium may be: various media capable of storing program codes, such as a removable storage device, a Read-Only Memory (ROM), a Random Access Memory (RAM), a magnetic disk, or an optical disk; alternatively, the computer storage medium may be a non-transitory storage medium.
Several specific examples are provided below in connection with any of the embodiments described above:
example 1:
the present example provides a paging method for a private network and a private base station of the private network for network slicing in a 5G network, including:
the first step is as follows: the AMF reports the NSSAI, the SUPI and the private network ID to the UDM, so that the identity authentication of the UE by the UDM is realized;
the second step is that: the UDM identifies whether the UE can be attached to the network through the RAN based on NSSAI and SUPI and private network ID;
the third step: the AMF acquires a special paging strategy from the PCF, and parameters carried by the special paging strategy include but are not limited to NSSAI, SUPI and special network ID;
the fourth step: when the UE is in a CM-IDLE state, paging is preferentially carried out in a special paging area, if the UE does not respond, paging is carried out in a private network paging area, and if the UE does not respond, paging is carried out in RAN in all areas registered by the UE.
The ad-hoc paging zone is determined based on the UE daily mobility range in this example, and the private network paging zone is determined based on the network slice in which the UE is registered. Typically, a private network corresponds to several base stations, but not all base stations, within the registration area of the UE. The ad-hoc paging zone may generally correspond to one or several base stations. The special paging area is a position where the UE often appears and is a position where the UE is best possible at present, so that the paging is preferentially carried out in the special paging area, and the UE is paged with very high probability. If the UE is not paged in the special paging area, the paging is carried out in the private network registered or belonged to the UE, and the paging area corresponding to the private network paging is larger compared with the special paging area, so that the probability of paging the UE is increased compared with the paging of the special paging area. If the private network paging is unsuccessful to page the UE, the whole network paging of the registration area of the UE is carried out, thereby ensuring that the UE can be paged finally.
Since the paging of the special paging area and the paging of the private network are both areas where the UE appears frequently and preferentially, the UE is paged in the special paging area or the private network of the private network paging with high probability without executing the whole network paging of a registration area, thereby reducing the paging overhead.
For example, when a certain UE is working on weekdays (monday to friday) (NWDA can analyze a specific time period, for example, 9:00 to 18:00), an office private network of a china mobile innovation building is used; and the public network is used outside the time periods, and the position distribution is mainly positioned at home and various large outdoor scenic spots. Based on the above information, when the UE is in the CM-IDLE state, the AMF performs paging using a paging policy acquired from the PCF at the time of registration. If the time interval is the working time interval of the working day, paging is carried out under one or a plurality of base stations of the China Mobile Innovation building, and if the UE response is not received within the appointed time, paging is carried out in all areas registered by the UE. The private office network is one of the private networks of the end-to-end network slice. If the UE is paged through the private network in the working day, the whole network paging of the registration area is carried out under the condition of paging failure, so that the base stations participating in paging are obviously reduced, time-frequency resources and/or power consumption consumed by the base stations for sending paging messages are reduced, the paging consumption is reduced, and the UR can still be paged.
Example 2:
as shown in fig. 8, the present example provides a registration method of a UE, including:
1. the UE sends registration information to the RAN.
2. The RAN selects an AMF based on NSSAI and RAT;
3. RAN sends a registration request to AMF and reports the private network ID of the RAN to which the RAN belongs;
4. the AMF selects AUSF based on the SUPI and the private network ID;
5. AMF selects UDM based on SUPI and private network ID;
6. and the AMF reports the SUPI, NSSAI and private network ID to the UDM to request the user identity authentication, and the UDM inquires whether the user is a registered device of the private network in a local cache according to the NSSAI, the private network ID and the SUPI. For example, user identity information is obtained from a CMRI (e.g., an enterprise server), for example, the user identity information of a private network corresponding to the private network ID is used for performing authority authentication on the user requesting registration.
7. If the result is not found in the local cache, the UDM queries whether the UE is a private network registered user from an enterprise private server (in the figure, CMRI is taken as an example) according to the private network ID, SUPI and NSSAI;
8. the UDM returns the query result to the AMF;
9. AMF selects PCF based on SUPI;
10a, AMF obtains access and mobility strategy of UE from PCF, PCF first searches whether exclusive paging strategy of UE exists from local buffer; and 10b, if the local area does not have the exclusive paging strategy cache of the UE, the PCF returns a private network paging area to the UE based on the private network ID, and the paging area is in the granularity of base stations in the private network. Meanwhile, the PCF acquires the behavior habit, Activity Area (Activity Area), of the UE from the NWDA based on the SUPI, and generates a Special paging Area (Special paging Area). And if the NWDA has no record about the UE, reporting the NWDA as an analysis sample once. The PCF generates an exclusive paging strategy based on the private network paging Area and a Special paging Area (Special paging Area) provided by the NWDA. Step 10a and step 10b, the PCF may be executed simultaneously or only one.
11. PCF sends UE access and mobility strategy to AMF, including special paging strategy, special paging area, special network ID, paging area (TAI);
the RAN informs the UE that the registration is successful;
13. and finishing the registration.
Therefore, the PCF completes the determination of the exclusive paging strategy of the UE in the registration process of the UE and sends the exclusive paging strategy to the AMF, so that the subsequent AMF can directly page the UE according to the exclusive paging strategy stored locally or the exclusive paging strategy stored by the PCF when needing to page the UE conveniently, and the exclusive paging strategy does not need to be generated temporarily.
Example 3:
the present example provides a paging method, comprising: after the UE successfully registers, the paging strategy is acquired from the PCF. In CM-IDLE state, the network preferentially pages the UE in the special paging area, and if the paging fails, the network pages in the private network paging area.
The paging method provided in this example may specifically include the following steps:
1. the UPF receives downlink data;
2a, the UPF sends a data notification to the SMF;
2b, SMF sends response to UPF;
3a, SMF sends N11 message to AMF;
3b, the AMF sends a response to the SMF;
4a, AMF sends paging to one or more RANs in a special paging area based on a special paging strategy received during registration;
4b, the RAN pages in the area;
5. (optional) if the paging in the special paging area fails, paging in the private network paging area;
6. the UE receives the paging and triggers a service request process;
7. and starting to perform downlink data transmission.
Example 4:

1. the UPF receives downlink data;
2a, the UPF sends a data notification to the SMF;
2b, SMF sends response to UPF;
3a, SMF sends N11 message to AMF;
3b, the AMF sends a response to the SMF;
4a, AMF sends paging to one or more RANs in a special paging area based on a special paging strategy received during registration; the area corresponding to one or more RAMs here is the aforementioned special paging area.
4b, the RAN pages in the area;
5. (optional) if the paging in the special paging area fails, paging in the private network paging area;
6a, AMF sends out paging to RAN in all registered paging areas of UE;
6b, RAN sends paging to UE;
7. the UE receives the paging and triggers a service request process;
8. and starting to perform downlink data transmission.
