Description

显示装置
本申请要求于2017年12月21日提交的韩国专利申请第10-2017-0177132的权益,其通过引用合并到本文中,如同在本文中完全阐述一样。
技术领域
本发明涉及包括液晶面板和背光单元的显示装置。
背景技术
近来,在面向信息化的社会中,已经进一步强调了显示装置作为视觉信息传输媒介的重要性。为了在将来占据重要位置,必须满足诸如低功耗、纤薄、重量减轻和高图像质量的要求。
显示装置可以分类为:自发光显示装置,例如阴极射线管(CRT)显示装置、电致发光(EL)显示装置、发光二极管(LED)显示器、真空荧光显示器(VFD)装置、场致发射显示器(FED)装置和等离子体显示面板(PDP);以及非发光显示装置,例如液晶显示器(LCD)装置。
在这样的显示装置中,作为利用液晶的光学各向异性显示图像的装置的液晶显示装置已经受到关注,因为相比于与液晶显示装置具有相同尺寸的阴极射线管显示装置,液晶显示装置呈现更高的可视性、更低的功耗和更小的热量耗散。
液晶显示装置是如下图像显示装置:其中光源设置在液晶的下方,并且其中电场施加至液晶以控制液晶的排列,从而调节从光源发射的光的透射。液晶显示装置应用于各种电子设备,例如智能手机和平板PC。特别地,液晶显示装置包括设置在盖玻璃下方的液晶面板、设置在液晶面板下方的背光单元和用于容置或支承液晶面板或背光单元的导板。
然而,从设置在液晶面板中的驱动电路产生的热和从光源产生的热集中在显示装置的与驱动电路和光源相邻的区域中。因此,迫切需要散热。为此,将LED柔性印刷电路板(FPCB)朝向盖底(cover bottom)设置,以便将从光源发出的热量排放至外部。然而,在液晶面板和背光单元之间的空间的一部分中形成有空的台阶。由于台阶而导致支承液晶面板的力减小,并且省略了用于支承光学片的结构。
发明内容
因此,本发明涉及基本上消除了由于相关技术的限制和缺点而引起的一个或更多个问题的显示装置。
本发明的一个目的是提供一种包括固定单元的显示装置,该固定单元用于补偿形成在液晶面板和背光单元之间的空的空间中的台阶并固定光学片。
本发明的另一目的是提供一种显示装置,其被配置成使得固定单元将从光源发射的光的一部分反射在导光板的上表面上,从而改善在导光板的光入射部处的亮度。
本发明另外的优点、目的和特征将部分地在以下描述中阐述,并且部分地对于本领域普通技术人员而言在查看以下描述时将变得明显或者可以从对本发明的实践中得知。本发明的目的和其他优点可以通过在书面描述及权利要求书以及附图中具体指出的结构来实现和获得。
为了实现这些目的和其他优点并且根据本发明的目的,如本文所体现和广泛描述的,显示装置包括设置在液晶面板和背光单元之间的空的空间中以用于与模部件(mold)一起支承液晶面板以及固定光学片的固定单元。
固定单元可以包括反射构件,该反射构件用于改善在导光板的光入射部处的亮度,由此改善图像质量。

具体实施方式
在下文中,将参照附图对根据本发明的有机发光显示装置的示例性实施方式进行详细描述,使得本领域技术人员将容易地实现本发明。在附图中,相同的元件由相同附图标记来指示,即使它们绘制在不同的附图中亦如此。在本发明的以下描述中,当并入本文的已知功能和配置的详细描述可能模糊本发明的主题时,将省略其详细描述。本领域的技术人员将理解的是,为了便于描述,附图中的一些特征可以被放大、缩小或简化,并且附图和附图的元件并不总是按精确的比例示出。
图1是示出根据本发明的实施方式的显示装置的分解透视图,并且图2是图1所示的显示装置的横截面图。
参照图1和图2,根据本发明的实施方式的显示装置100包括盖玻璃110、液晶面板120、模部件130、背光单元140、柔性印刷电路板(FPCB)150、盖底160和固定单元170。
保护膜(未示出)可以设置在盖玻璃110的上表面上。盖玻璃110可以设置有触摸面板(未示出)。触摸面板可以是:电阻型,其中被配置为对施加至触摸面板的表面的压力作出反应的一系列传感器紧密地布置在一起,以便确定被施加压力的触摸面板的位置作为坐标;或者电容型,其中电荷充加在盖玻璃110的表面上,并且传感器布置在盖玻璃110的周围,使得当盖玻璃110的表面被触摸时感测电荷丢失的程度,以便确定盖玻璃110的被触摸的位置。
其中像素以矩阵形式布置以输出图像的液晶面板120包括:滤色器基板121和阵列基板122,它们被层叠以便彼此相对,使得在它们之间保持均匀的单元间隙;以及在滤色器基板121和阵列基板122之间的单元间隙中形成的液晶层(未示出)。在其中滤色器基板121和阵列基板122层叠的液晶面板120中形成有公共电极和像素电极,以便向液晶层施加电场。当在电压被施加至公共电极的状态下控制施加至像素电极的数据信号的电压时,液晶层的液晶根据公共电极和像素电极之间的电场、基于介电各向异性而旋转,由此针对各个像素透过或阻挡光,以便显示文字或图像。
为了控制施加至每个像素的像素电极的数据信号的电压,为每个像素设置开关元件,例如薄膜晶体管(TFT)。
也就是说,在阵列基板122中形成纵向和横向布置以限定像素区域的栅极线和数据线。在栅极线和数据线之间的交叉点处形成诸如薄膜晶体管的开关元件。
薄膜晶体管包括连接至栅极线的栅极电极、连接至数据线的源极电极和连接至像素电极的漏极电极。
滤色器基板121可以包括由多个子滤色器构成以用于实现红色、绿色和蓝色(RGB)的滤色器、用于将子滤色器彼此划分并用于阻挡透过液晶层的光的黑矩阵和形成在滤色器和黑矩阵上的保护层。
偏振板附接至滤色器基板121和阵列基板122的外表面。下偏振板使已经通过背光单元140的光向阵列基板122偏振,并且上偏振板使通过液晶面板120的光偏振。
用于增加亮度的OCR(光学透明树脂)膜111设置在盖玻璃110和液晶面板120之间。液晶面板120的下边缘由模部件130支承,并且背光单元140容置在模部件130中。
背光单元140包括设置在液晶面板120下方的导光板141、设置有布置在导光板141的一侧以用于发光的多个光源143的LED模块142、以及设置在导光板141的后表面上的反射板。背光单元140的LED模块142设置在导光板141的一侧。
用于改善从导光板141发射的光的效率以便使其照射到液晶面板120的多个光学片144设置在导光板141的上表面上。然而,本发明不限于此。任何种类的背光单元140可以应用于根据本发明的显示装置100。
导光板141将从光源143发射的光导向液晶面板120。导光板141可以由诸如PMMA或PC的塑料制成。
反射板位于盖底160和导光板141的后表面之间。反射板将从光源143发射的光和由导光板141反射的光向液晶面板120反射。从光源143发射的光入射在导光板141的侧表面上。设置在导光板141的后表面上的反射板将传输至导光板141的后表面的光向设置在导光板141的上表面上的光学片144反射,以便减少光损失并且改善光的均匀性。
光学片144可以包括扩散片145和棱镜片146,并且还可以包括诸如DBEF的亮度改善膜和保护片(未示出)。光学片144可以设置在导光板141的上表面和液晶面板120的后表面之间。具有上述结构的背光单元140容置在盖底160中。
如图2所示,LED模块的LED FPCB 1431耦接至盖底160。当LED FPCB 1431耦接至盖底160时,从光源143产生的热排放至外部,从而改善了散热效率。此外,从设置在液晶面板120中的驱动IC(D-IC)产生的热被阻止与光源143产生的热一起施加至显示装置的特定部分。
由于LED FPCB 1431耦接至盖底160,所以固定单元170耦接至现有LED FPCB所在的显示装置的部分。固定单元170附接至其上设置有光源143的导光板141的光入射部的上表面。因此,可以防止在从光源143发射之后尚未穿过上表面、即液晶面板120的光泄漏到外部。
固定单元170包括在导光板141上方的用于支承液晶面板120的第一支承区域171和用于支承光学片144的第二支承区域172。第一支承区域171和第二支承区域172可以一体形成。
固定单元170还包括附接至导光板141的上表面的粘合构件175和设置在粘合构件175的上表面上的用于将从光源143发射的光反射回至导光板141的反射构件176。反射构件176可以具有呈现高光反射率的颜色,例如白色,或者可以由呈现高光反射率的材料制成。因此,防止了导光板的光入射部周围的亮度降低,由此改善了图像质量。
图3是图2所示的显示装置的部分放大的参照图,并且图4是图2所示的显示装置的平面图。在以下描述中,与上述附图标记相同的附图标记指示相同的元件。
参照图3和图4,用于覆盖背光单元140的遮光带(light-shielding tape)180设置在液晶面板120的下方。遮光带180附接至模部件130、固定单元170和光学片144的外部区域的一部分。因此,遮光带180可以同时固定光学片144和固定单元170。
固定单元170包括从第二支承区域172的相对端向光学片144突出的突出构件173。
突出构件173可以被附接成使得与和其相邻的扩散片145的相对端的上表面部分地交叠。扩散片145包括在固定单元170的突出构件173的内向方向上延伸的延伸构件1451。
因此,突出构件173和延伸构件1451被设置成在水平方向上彼此干涉(interfere),从而防止扩散片145被外力推动。
突出构件173中的每个的侧表面可以支承棱镜片146的侧表面。因此,当扩散片145附接至突出构件173中的每个的下部且棱镜片146由突出构件173中的每个的侧表面支承时,固定单元的第二支承区域172用作针对光学片144的止动件(stopper)。
为了补偿液晶面板120和导光板141之间的空的空间,固定单元可以由以下中至少一种制成:苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)、聚乙烯(PE)、聚丙烯(PP)、聚苯乙烯(PS)、聚碳酸酯(PC)、聚酰胺(PA)、聚苯乙烯、酚醛树脂和环氧树脂。上述指定材料呈现高的抗压缩应力或拉伸应力的能力,使得可以使空的空间的变形最小化。
根据以上描述将明显的是,在根据本发明的显示装置中,补偿液晶面板和背光单元之间的空的空间,由此更牢固地支承液晶面板。此外,从LED模块产生的热被有效地散发至外部,并且固定单元将从光源发射的光反射回至导光板,由此改善了图像质量。
对本领域技术人员来说将明显的是,在不偏离本发明的精神和范围的情况下,在本发明中可以进行各种修改和变化。因此,本发明旨在覆盖本发明的修改和变化,只要这些修改和变化在所附权利要求及其等同物的范围内即可。

Claims (8)

1.一种显示装置,包括:
液晶面板,所述液晶面板包括滤色器基板和与所述滤色器基板附接的阵列基板;
背光单元,所述背光单元包括设置在所述液晶面板下方的光学片、设置在所述光学片下方的导光板以及设置有光源和柔性印刷电路板的LED模块,所述光源设置在所述导光板的一侧并且所述柔性印刷电路板设置在所述光源下方;
模部件,所述模部件用于支承所述液晶面板的下部并容置所述背光单元;
盖底,所述盖底被设置成覆盖所述模部件和所述背光单元的后表面和侧表面;以及
固定单元,所述固定单元设置在所述导光板和所述液晶面板之间以用于固定所述光学片。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其中,
所述光学片包括棱镜片和扩散片,以及
所述固定单元包括:
在所述导光板上方的用于支承所述液晶面板的第一支承区域;以及
从所述第一支承区域一体地延伸以用于同时支承所述棱镜片的侧表面以及所述扩散片的侧表面和上边缘的第二支承区域。
3.根据权利要求2所述的显示装置,其中,所述固定单元还包括从所述第二支承区域的相对端向所述光学片突出的突出构件。
4.根据权利要求3所述的显示装置,其中,所述突出构件被设置成与所述扩散片的相对端的上表面部分地交叠。
5.根据权利要求3所述的显示装置,其中,所述扩散片包括延伸构件,所述延伸构件从所述扩散片的不与所述突出构件交叠的区域向所述固定单元延伸。
6.根据权利要求5所述的显示装置,其中,所述突出构件和所述延伸构件被设置成在水平方向上彼此干涉。
7.根据权利要求2所述的显示装置,其中,所述固定单元还包括:
附接至所述导光板的上表面的粘合构件;以及
反射构件,其设置在所述粘合构件的上表面上以用于将从所述光源发射的光反射回到所述导光板。
8.根据权利要求7所述的显示装置,还包括遮光带,所述遮光带设置在所述固定单元的上表面和所述液晶面板之间,以便同时附接至所述光学片的一部分、所述反射构件和所述模部件。
