Description

Visual snow depth measuring instrument and use method
Technical Field
The invention relates to the field of snow science research, in particular to snow depth measurement in snow science data acquisition.
Background
The snow depth is an important parameter in a snow hydrologic model and snow quantitative remote sensing, so the snow depth measurement is very important in the scientific research of snow.
At present, the snow layer density measuring device mainly comprises a ruler, wherein the ruler is vertically inserted into the bottom of snow and used for reading the depth of the snow. Because the ruler is usually inserted into a grass layer or even a clay layer below the snow accumulation layer, a boundary line between snow accumulation and the ground is not accurately found, and zero scale of the ruler cannot be aligned with the boundary line, so that a measurement result is inaccurate.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention aims to accurately measure the depth of snow.
The visual snow depth measuring instrument comprises a ruler, a visual end, a visual circuit, a planar reflector, a power supply, a switch and a bulb, wherein the ruler is hollow, the cross section of the ruler is rectangular, the visual end is positioned at the bottom end of the ruler, the visual end is wedge-shaped, the upper end is equal to the ruler, the lower end is pointed, the visual end comprises a vertical surface and an inclined surface which is opposite to the vertical surface and forms 45 degrees, the vertical surface is made of transparent materials, scales are arranged on the vertical surface and keep continuous with the scales on the ruler, the vertical surface is used for observing the external environment and observing the snow depth, the planar reflector is arranged on the inclined surface and reflects the vertical surface to the top end of the ruler, and the visual circuit comprises the power supply, the switch and the bulb and is positioned in the visual end and is used for providing light required for observing the vertical surface and the external environment.
Preferably, the lamp shade is further included, and the lamp shade concentrates the bulb light to one side of the vertical surface.
Preferably, the bulb and the inclined surface are at the two ends of the ruler and are separated by a certain distance.
Preferably, the power source and switch are located at the top of the ruler.
The using method of the instrument is as follows:
a. when the ruler is vertically inserted into the bottom of the snow cover, a switch of the visual circuit is turned on;
b. observing from the upper end of the ruler to the bottom, finding out the boundary between snow and the ground, and recording the corresponding scale of the boundary on the vertical surface;
c. and reading the corresponding scale of the upper snow surface on the ruler, and subtracting the corresponding scale on the vertical surface from the corresponding scale on the ruler to obtain the snow depth.
The instrument accurately distinguishes the boundary between snow and the ground through the visual end and the visual circuit, completely avoids the measurement error caused by the fact that the traditional ruler is inserted below the snow accumulation layer, and has high accuracy and simple and convenient operation; the lamp shade concentrates the bulb light to one side of the vertical surface, and the bulb and the inclined plane are arranged at two ends of the ruler, so that the influence of strong reflection of the bulb light on observation is avoided.
