However, when liquid or foreign matter enters the electrical connector, the adjacent contact portions of the conductive terminals are easily short-circuited and ignited to damage the electrical connector.
Accordingly, there is a need for an improved electrical connector that overcomes the above-mentioned deficiencies.
[ summary of the invention ]
The technical problem to be solved by the invention is to provide an electric connector for preventing a conductive terminal from being short-circuited and ignited.
The purpose of the invention is realized by the following technical scheme one: an electric connector comprises an insulating body, a plurality of conductive terminals accommodated in the insulating body and a shielding shell covering the insulating body, wherein the insulating body comprises a base part and a tongue plate part extending forwards from the base part, each conductive terminal comprises a fixing part fixed on the base part, a welding part extending backwards from the fixing part to the base part and a contact part extending forwards from the fixing part and exposed on the surface of the tongue plate part, and the tongue plate part is provided with a barrier for separating adjacent contact parts of the conductive terminals from each other.
Further, the barrier is integrally formed by protruding from the tongue portion.
Further, the height of the partition is higher than that of the contact portion.
Further, the barrier extends forwardly from a root of adjacent contact portions of the conductive terminal and separates the adjacent contact portions, the barrier extending forwardly beyond at least one of the adjacent contact portions.
Furthermore, a spacing area is arranged between the contact part of the conductive terminal and the partition.
Furthermore, the spacing region is recessed to form a recess.
Further, the recess is lower than the plane of the contact portion.
Further, the recess is arranged to penetrate forward.
Further, the tongue plate portion comprises two surfaces which are oppositely arranged up and down, the conductive terminals comprise two rows of conductive terminals which are arranged in an upper row and a lower row and are respectively arranged on the two surfaces, and the partition is arranged between adjacent contact portions of each row of conductive terminals.
Furthermore, the front ends of the barriers arranged between the contact portions of the conductive terminals are arranged in parallel, each row of the conductive terminals comprises a pair of grounding terminals located on two opposite outer sides and a plurality of signal terminals located between the pair of grounding terminals, the front ends of the contact portions of the grounding terminals are arranged in front of the front ends of the barriers, and the front ends of the barriers are arranged in front of the front ends of the contact portions of the signal terminals.
Compared with the prior art, the electric connector has the advantages that the barriers are arranged between the adjacent contact parts of the conductive terminals, so that the short circuit and fire between the adjacent conductive terminals caused by liquid and foreign matters entering the electric connector can be avoided.

[ detailed description ] embodiments
Referring to fig. 1 to 8, an electrical connector 100 according to the present invention is a connector for mounting on a circuit board (not shown) and allowing insertion in both forward and reverse directions. The electrical connector 100 includes an insulative housing 1, a plurality of conductive terminals 2 received in the insulative housing 1, and a shielding shell 3 covering the insulative housing 1.
The insulating body 1 includes a base 11 and a tongue portion 12 extending forward from the base 11. The conductive terminal 2 includes a holding portion (not shown) held in the base portion 11, a soldering portion 22 extending from the holding portion (not shown) rearward out of the base portion 11, and a contact portion 23 extending from the holding portion (not shown) forward exposed to a surface of the tongue portion 12. The tongue plate portion 12 includes two surfaces oppositely disposed up and down, and the conductive terminals 2 include two rows of conductive terminals 20 respectively disposed on the two surfaces and arranged in two rows up and down. The electrical connector 100 further includes a middle shielding plate 4 disposed between the upper and lower rows of conductive terminals 20 of the insulating housing 1. The intermediate shield piece 4 includes a base 41 provided on the base 11 and a tongue 42 provided on the tongue portion 12. The insulation body 1 comprises an upper insulator 101, a lower insulator 102 and an outer insulator 103, wherein the lower insulator 102 and the outer insulator 103 are matched with the upper insulator 101, the two rows of conductive terminals 20 are respectively formed in the upper insulator and the lower insulator to form an upper module 5 and a lower module 6, the middle shielding sheet 4 is clamped between the upper module 5 and the lower module 6, and the outer insulator 103 is integrally formed outside the upper module 5, the middle shielding sheet 4 and the lower module 6.
In order to avoid a short-circuit fire between the contact portions 23 of each row of the conductive terminals 20, the surface of the tongue plate portion 12 is provided with a partition 121 that separates the adjacent contact portions 23 of each row of the conductive terminals 20 from each other. Preferably, the partition 121 is integrally formed to protrude from the surface of the tongue plate portion 12, and the partition 121 extends forward from the root 231 of the adjacent contact portion 23 and separates the adjacent contact portions 23. Of course, in other embodiments, the partition may be held to the tongue portion 12 and formed to protrude from the surface. A spacing region 122 is provided between the partition 121 and the contact portion 23, and the spacing region 122 spaces the partition 121 and the contact portion 23 in a direction in which each row of conductive terminals 20 is arranged in the transverse direction. Further, the spacing region 122 is a recessed forward penetrating recess 1220, and the recess 1220 is lower than the contact portion 23, i.e. the contact surface of the contact portion 23. It should be noted that the short circuit between adjacent contact portions 23 is usually caused by corrosion of the surface of the tongue plate portion 12, and the arrangement of the partition 121 and the recess 1220 can maximally avoid the short circuit between adjacent contact portions 23 caused by corrosion of the surface of the tongue plate portion 12.
Specifically, the height of the partition 121 is higher than that of the contact portion 23, so that when a mating connector (not shown) is mated with the electrical connector 100, the partition 121 can guide a mating terminal (not shown) of the mating connector (not shown). Furthermore, the webs 121 extend forward beyond at least one of the adjacent contact portions 23 in the direction of extension of the tongue portion 12, i.e. in the case of a difference in length between adjacent contact portions, the length of the webs is at least longer than the shorter of the adjacent contact portions.
In the present invention, the front ends of the barriers 121 disposed between the adjacent contact portions 23 of each row of the conductive terminals 20 are disposed in parallel. Each row of the conductive terminals 20 at least includes a pair of ground terminals 201 located at two opposite outer sides and a plurality of signal terminals 202 located between the pair of ground terminals 201, the front ends of the ground terminals 201 are disposed forward relative to the front ends of the signal terminals 202, and the front ends of the ground terminals 201 are also disposed forward relative to the front ends of the partition bars 121. Of course, the front end of the partition 121 may be disposed beyond the front end of the ground terminal 201. The signal terminals 202 include data terminals 2021 and power terminals 2022, and in the use process of the electrical connector 100, surfaces of tongue-shaped portions on two sides of the power terminals 2022 are more easily corroded to cause short circuit between the power terminals 2022 and the terminals beside the power terminals 2022. Therefore, in the electrical connector 100 of the present invention, the partition 121 at least isolates the power terminal 2022 and the contact portion 23 of the adjacent terminal from each other.
The above description is only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all embodiments, and any equivalent variations of the technical solutions of the present invention, which are made by those skilled in the art through reading the present specification, are covered by the claims of the present invention.
