As shown in fig. 1, the set-top box convergence gateway provided by the embodiment of the present invention includes a set-top box side 10, a gateway side 20, and a power supply 30.
Wherein the power supply 30 is connected to the set-top box side 10 and the gateway side 20, respectively, for supplying power to the set-top box side 10 and the gateway side 20. The set-top box side 10 and the gateway side 20 share the same power switch, and after the power supply 30 is powered on, the set-top box side 10 and the gateway side 20 are respectively started simultaneously.
The set-top box side 10 comprises a first memory 101 and a first processor 102.
The first memory 101 stores therein the system of the set-top box side 10 and also stores the system of the gateway side 20. The first processor 102, that is, the processor on the set-top box side 10, is configured to process services such as television program playing of the set-top box, and may also start a data transmission service such as tftp (simple File Transfer Protocol), and transmit data from the set-top box side to the gateway side.
The gateway side 20 includes a second memory 201 and a second processor 202.
The second memory 201 stores only a boot system (e.g., UBOOT) for booting the gateway kernel, and does not store a system on the gateway side. The second processor 202, i.e. the processor on the gateway side, is used for processing functions such as network management and network data propagation.
The second processor 202 is configured to perform the following steps:
and after the gateway side is powered on, starting a boot system, wherein the boot system is stored on a memory of the gateway side.
The gateway system is read from the memory on the set-top box side by the boot system and started.

The bootstrap system is used for booting a gateway kernel, and an IP address of a set-top box side and a directory for storing the gateway system can be set in the bootstrap system, so that the gateway system can be read from a preset path, for example, the gateway system under 192.108.1.12\ data is obtained in an ftp mode.
S202, reading the gateway system from the memory on the set-top box side through the guide system and starting.
In particular, since a dedicated user storage area of a large space is available in the memory on the set-top box side, storing the gateway system therein does not increase the memory size. And after the set top box is started, starting transmission service, such as tftp transmission service, and transmitting the gateway system to the gateway side.
