Description

Network equipment management method and device
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for managing a network device.
Background
Smart Management Center (SmartMC) functionality may be used to centrally manage and maintain a large number of dispersed network devices at the edge of a network. One network device can be configured as a management device in a network established based on the SmartMC function, other network devices are configured as member devices, and the management device performs batch management on the member devices in the SmartMC network.
Currently, in the process of deploying a SmartMC network, regarding some basic configuration items, for example, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses used when a management device communicates with member devices, a worker generally logs in an operation interface directly to deploy the management device and the member devices respectively. After the deployment is completed, if the configuration item of the member device needs to be modified, added or deleted subsequently, the management device may directly instruct the member device to perform operations such as configuration change.
However, considering that configuration change is generally to directly replace an original configuration file in a member device with a latest configuration file, when configuration change is performed on a plurality of member devices and the changed contents are the same, if configuration change is performed on the member devices in batch by using the same configuration file, the configuration files after replacement by different member devices may be the same, in this case, basic configuration items recorded in original configuration files of different member devices may also be replaced with the same configuration items, which results in abnormal communication between the management device and the member devices. If a latest configuration file is set for each member device and configuration change is performed, not only is the process of configuration change complicated, but also the configuration efficiency is low.

In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present application clearer, the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present application, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present application, and not all the embodiments. The components of the embodiments of the present application, generally described and illustrated in the figures herein, can be arranged and designed in a wide variety of different configurations. Thus, the following detailed description of the embodiments of the present application, presented in the accompanying drawings, is not intended to limit the scope of the claimed application, but is merely representative of selected embodiments of the application. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments of the present application without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present application.
First, a network architecture to which the present application is applicable will be described. The application can be applied to a network built based on SmartMC function, for example, referring to a possible network architecture diagram shown in FIG. 1:
the communication network includes at least one network device, such as a switch, a router, etc. Among them, at least one network device shown in fig. 1 includes a management device (i.e., Topology Manager (TM) device), and the rest of the network devices are member devices (i.e., Topology Clients (TCs)). Specifically, the management device may communicate with the member devices respectively to manage the member devices, for example, instruct the member devices to perform operations such as backup of data files, download configuration files, perform configuration changes, and upgrade software versions.
Also included in the communication network is a server, such as a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server. The staff can add configuration files and the like in the server, the follow-up management equipment and the member equipment can carry out remote communication with the server, and required configuration files and the like are obtained from the server.
The following further briefly describes the deployment mode of the communication network and the interaction mode between the network devices, so as to better understand the technical solutions provided in the present application. When the communication network is deployed, a worker can configure some basic configuration items for the network equipment by logging in an operation interface corresponding to the network equipment. Specifically, the basic configuration items include, for example, an operation mode, a communication protocol used between the management device and the member device, and an IP address used in communication.
(1) The working modes include a TM mode and a TC mode. The network device configured in the TM mode is a management device, and the network device configured in the TC mode is a member device.
(2) The communication Protocol is, for example, Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP). LLDP enable may be enabled in the management device and the member device, respectively, to facilitate the management device and the member device to learn a topological relationship with each other, thereby generating a link topology describing a connection relationship between the management device and the member device.
(3) IP address used in communication. For example, the management device and the member device may be configured with IP addresses of the same Network segment on a Virtual interface of a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) #1, for example, as shown in fig. 1, the IP addresses configured by the management device on the Virtual interface of VLAN #1 are configured as 192.168.2.2/24, and the IP addresses configured by the member devices #1 to #3 on the Virtual interface of VLAN #1 are 192.168.2.3/24, 192.168.2.4/24, and 192.168.2.5/24, respectively.
After the configuration of the basic configuration item is completed, the management device and the member device can communicate with each other based on the IP address configured under the virtual interface of VLAN #1, and transmit the messages of the LLDP protocol to each other. In an example, the management device may broadcast a message in VLAN #1, and carry address information of the management device in the broadcast message, for example, the address includes a Media Access Control (MAC) address, an IP address under a virtual interface of VLAN #1, and the like, so as to find surrounding member devices in the same network segment. Further, after receiving the message broadcast from the management device, the member device may record address information of the management device carried in the broadcast message, and then reply the message to the management device, where the reply message carries address information of the member device, such as a bridge MAC address of the member device, an IP address under a VLAN #1 virtual interface, and the like.
Through the mutual transmission of the messages, the management equipment can establish communication connection with the member equipment, and further can monitor and manage the member equipment.
When managing member devices, any one of the following two methods can be adopted at present:
the first mode is a mode of issuing a configuration file by an FTP server. Specifically, a configuration file and the like may be stored in advance in the FTP server, and the management device instructs the member device to establish a communication connection with the FTP server, and further obtains the configuration file and the like from the FTP server, so as to change the configuration items of the member device.
The second way is a manually modified way. Specifically, the member devices may be individually managed by a staff member logging in to a console or an operation interface of the management device, for example, manually changing the configuration of each member device.
However, if configuration changes need to be made to a large number of member devices and the content of the changes to the member devices is the same, the following problems may occur if either of the two methods is adopted:
when the configuration of the plurality of member devices is changed in the first manner, for example, when the same local area network is created for the plurality of member devices, if the configuration file that can be shared by the plurality of member devices is configured in the FTP server, the plurality of member devices can respectively obtain the shared configuration file and perform the configuration change, which may result in that the configuration files after the replacement by the different member devices are the same, in this case, the original basic configuration items of the different member devices are also replaced to be the same, for example, the IP addresses under the VLAN #1 virtual interfaces of the different member devices are all restored to the same IP address, which results in that the management device and the member devices cannot communicate normally.
However, if a configuration file is created for each member device in the FTP server and configuration changes are performed separately, since the contents that actually need to be changed are the same, the configuration files are created repeatedly and configuration changes are performed sequentially, which not only complicates the flow of configuration changes, but also reduces configuration efficiency.
When the second method is used to perform configuration change on a plurality of member devices, since a worker needs to log in a console or an operation interface of the management device to perform configuration change on the plurality of member devices one by one, the configuration change process is complicated, the configuration efficiency is low, and a large amount of working cost needs to be consumed. Moreover, the configuration changed manually is also easy to make mistakes, and further, the situation that the management device and the member device cannot normally communicate due to misoperation such as mistakenly modifying the basic configuration item may occur.
In view of the above technical problems, the present application provides a method and an apparatus for managing network devices, which can implement batch management of member devices without affecting normal communication between the member devices and the management device, so as to improve configuration change efficiency.
The technical solution provided by the present application is described in detail below with reference to specific embodiments.
Example one
Fig. 2 is a schematic flowchart illustrating a management method of a network device according to an embodiment of the present application. It should be noted that, before the method provided by the present application is executed, the following deployment may be completed between the management device and the member device:
(1) the management device and the member device respectively configure the basic configuration items, and the management device and the member device establish communication connection and can intercommunicate messages.
(2) The management device and the member device are respectively in communication connection with the FTP server, wherein the FTP server stores configuration files used when configuration change is carried out, and the management device and the member device can acquire the configuration files from the FTP server.
(3) The management device divides member devices maintaining communication connection into at least one member device group according to a preset rule, wherein each member device group comprises at least one member device. The preset rule may be, for example, any one of the following rules:
rule one is as follows: different IP network segments are assigned to different member device groups, and member devices in the same IP network segment can join the same member device group.
Rule two: different MAC address fields are assigned to different member device groups, and member devices in the same MAC address field can join the same member device group.
Rule three: and respectively configuring an identification value for each member device, and further assigning different identification value intervals for different member device groups, wherein the member devices in the same identification value interval can join the same member device group.
After the deployment is completed, the management of the network device may be performed based on the flowchart shown in fig. 2, which specifically includes the following steps:
step 201, the management device sends a first message to each member device in the member device group, where the first message is used to indicate that the member devices in the member device group reserve basic configuration items when performing configuration change by using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group.
The member device group described herein may be understood as a member device group obtained by dividing according to a preset rule. For example, when the member device group is divided according to the network segment to which the IP address of the VLAN #1 virtual interface belongs, the member devices in the 192.168.2.3 to 192.168.2.9 network segments may be divided into the same member device group.
In a specific implementation, the first message sent by the management device to the member devices in the member device group is, for example, a SmartMC hello message. The first message may include an identifier and a control bit of a configuration file corresponding to the member device group. Specifically, by indicating the identifier of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group, the member devices can determine the configuration file shared when the configuration is changed. By indicating the control bits to instruct the member devices to reserve the base configuration item when making configuration changes.
The control bit may be represented by at least one bit, and the at least one bit takes different values and respectively corresponds to different control states. In an example, assuming that the control bit is represented by a bit, when the bit takes a value of "1", the bit may represent a first control state, which is used to instruct the member device to start a basic configuration item reservation function, so that the member device reserves the basic configuration item when performing configuration change by using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group. When the value of the bit is "0", a second control state may be indicated to instruct the member device to close the basic configuration reservation function.
In addition, in practical application, if the management device does not indicate the communication address of the FTP server to the member device in advance, the communication address of the FTP server may be added to the first packet, so that the member device can obtain the configuration file corresponding to the member device group from the FTP server. In addition, if the management device does not indicate the identifier of the member device group to which the management device belongs to the member device group after dividing the member device group, the identifier of the member device group may be added in the first packet.
In addition, in this embodiment of the application, before step 201 is executed, the configuration change mode of the member device group may be configured to be the synchronization mode first. When the member device group is in the synchronization mode, the member devices in the member device group can share the configuration file corresponding to the member device group to perform configuration change in batch. When the member device group is in the asynchronous mode, the member devices in the member device group can respectively perform configuration change by using the configuration files corresponding to the member devices. Thus, different configuration change modes can be selected for use based on different requirements.
In an example, when the same configuration change is performed on the member devices in the same member device group, for example, when the same VLAN is created for the member devices in the same member device group, in this case, the configuration change mode of the member device group may be configured to be the synchronization mode. In another example, if different configuration changes are performed on member devices in the same member device group, for example, when different VLANs are created for the member devices in the same member device group, the synchronization mode may be cancelled, so that different configuration files are subsequently used to perform configuration changes on different member devices, respectively. In addition, when the configuration file of the member device is manually changed, the synchronization mode can be cancelled, so that configuration conflict or interference is avoided, and normal communication between the management device and the member device is guaranteed.
Step 202, after the member devices in the member device group receive the first message, the basic configuration item reservation function is started.
In a specific implementation, the member device may record information included in the first message, for example, an identifier of a configuration file corresponding to the member device group, and start a basic configuration item reservation function based on the first control state indicated by the control bit. Specifically, the step of starting the basic configuration item retention function may be understood as setting the basic configuration item recorded by the member device to be in an unchangeable state, specifically, a control lock may be added to the basic configuration item, and the basic configuration item is not allowed to be changed when configuration change is performed. After the base configuration item retention function is disabled, the control lock for the base configuration item may be unlocked, in which case changes to the base configuration item are allowed.
Step 203, the management device monitors the state of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group.
In a specific implementation, the management device may acquire the configuration file corresponding to the member device group from the server every set time period, and monitor the state of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group. Specifically, after acquiring the configuration file corresponding to the member device group, the management device may first determine whether the configuration file corresponding to the member device group is already recorded locally. And if the configuration file corresponding to the member equipment is not recorded locally, storing the currently acquired configuration file corresponding to the member equipment locally. On the contrary, if the configuration file corresponding to the member device is locally recorded, it may be further determined whether the currently acquired configuration file corresponding to the member device is different from the configuration file corresponding to the member device that has been locally recorded, if so, the currently acquired configuration file corresponding to the member device is stored locally, and the previously recorded configuration file corresponding to the member device is deleted, and if not, the currently acquired configuration file corresponding to the member device is directly deleted.
Step 204, the management device determines whether the monitored state meets a trigger condition for triggering configuration change.
If yes, go to step 205; if not, returning to step 203, and continuing to monitor the state of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group.
In a possible implementation manner, when the management device monitors that the configuration file corresponding to the member device group is not recorded locally, it may be determined that the state of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group meets the trigger condition.
In another possible implementation manner, when it is monitored that a configuration file corresponding to the member device group is locally recorded and the configuration file corresponding to the locally recorded member device group is different from the currently acquired configuration file corresponding to the member device group, it is determined that the state of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group meets the trigger condition.
Step 205, the management device instructs each member device in the member device group to perform configuration change by using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group.
Specifically, the management device may instruct the member device to perform configuration change by sending a SmartMC configuration message to the member device in the member device group.
In step 206, when the member device in the member device group receives the configuration change instruction from the management device, the configuration file corresponding to the member device group is acquired.
In specific implementation, the member devices in the member device group may obtain the configuration file corresponding to the member device group from the FTP server based on the locally stored communication address of the FTP server, where the configuration file corresponding to the member device group is pre-configured by the staff and uploaded to the FTP server.
In addition, in practical applications, in some scenes with special requirements, for example, in scenes with a high requirement on timeliness, the configuration file corresponding to the member device group that is recently acquired and recorded by the management device may also be directly carried in the configuration change instruction (for example, SmartMC configuration packet) of the management device, and the subsequent member devices may acquire the required configuration file from the configuration change instruction and perform configuration change. In addition, it should be noted that, in consideration of the fact that the management device mainly plays a role in managing the member devices, the method in which the member devices acquire the configuration files from the FTP server is more reliable in implementation than the method in which the member devices acquire the configuration files from the management device, and the processing pressure of the management device can also be reduced.
Step 207: and the member devices in the member device group update other configuration items except the basic configuration item based on the configuration files corresponding to the member device group.
The basic configuration item reservation function is started by the member equipment in the member equipment group, so that when configuration change is carried out based on the configuration file corresponding to the member equipment group, other configuration items except the basic configuration item can be updated without influencing the basic configuration item, thereby effectively preventing the member equipment from losing connection with the management equipment and ensuring normal communication between the management equipment and the member equipment.
It should be noted that, in the above process, when the management device sends a message to the member devices in the member device group, the management device may send the message to each member device in the member device group in a unicast manner. After the member device receives and processes the message from the management device, the member device may also reply the message to the management device in a unicast manner. In addition, for some special demand scenarios, such as a scenario with a high requirement on timeliness, the form in which the management device sends the message to the member devices in the member device group may also be a multicast form, which is not limited in the present application.
In addition, in a specific implementation, when each member device in the member device group is instructed to perform configuration change by using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group, the management device may carry an identifier and a control bit of the configuration file corresponding to the member device group in the configuration change instruction, so that the member device is instructed to reserve a basic configuration item while the member device is instructed to perform configuration change. This embodiment is also applicable to the present application example.
Based on the above manner, each member device in the same member device group can share the configuration file corresponding to the member device group for configuration change, so that when configuration change is needed, a worker only needs to update the configuration file corresponding to the member device group in the FTP server, and the member devices in the subsequent member device group can share the same configuration file for configuration change in batch under the instruction of the management device. In addition, because the management device has indicated the member device to start the basic configuration item reservation function in advance, when the configuration of the member device is changed, the basic configuration item of the member device is not affected, and only the configuration items except the basic configuration item are updated, so that the normal communication between the management device and the member device can be ensured.
Example two
In the first embodiment, a management manner of the management device for the member personnel in the member device group is introduced, and in consideration of practical application, the member devices in the member device group may be changed, for example, a newly added member device, or a member device may be brought online again after being taken offline. In the second embodiment of the present application, a method for managing a newly joined member device or a newly online member device by a management device under the above-mentioned circumstances is introduced.
Referring to fig. 3, a schematic flow chart of a method for managing a newly joined member device by a manager according to an embodiment of the present application is shown, where the method includes the following steps:
step 301, the management device monitors the states of the member devices in the member device group.
Step 302, when the management device monitors that the first member device joins the member device group for the first time, the management device sends a first message to the newly joined first member device.
In specific implementation, the management device may broadcast a SmartMC message to the member devices in the member device group, where the SmartMC message carries a bridge MAC address and an IP address of the management device, so as to search for the member devices in the same surrounding network segment. After receiving the message carrying the bridge MAC address and the IP address of the member device replied from the member device, the management device may establish a communication connection with the member device. When a newly added first member device and a management device successfully establish communication connection and the first member device belongs to the member device group, a first message can be sent to the first member device.
The first message carries relevant information and the role of the first message may refer to relevant contents in the first embodiment, which is not described in detail herein.
Step 303, the management device instructs the first member device to perform configuration change by using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group.
Since the configuration file corresponding to the member device group is not recorded in the newly added first member device, the first member device may be instructed to perform configuration change using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group.
And step 304, the first member device updates the rest configuration items except the basic configuration item of the first member device by using the configuration file corresponding to the member device group based on the first message from the management device and the configuration change instruction.
The process of configuration change may refer to the related contents in the first embodiment, and will not be described here.
Referring to fig. 4, a schematic flow chart of a method for managing a member device newly brought online by a manager according to an embodiment of the present application is shown, where the method includes the following steps:
step 401, the management device monitors the states of the member devices in the member device group.
Step 402, when the management device monitors that a second member device in the member device group is offline and then online again, determining an offline time period of an interval from offline to online again for the second member device.
In a specific implementation, the management device may unicast the SmartMC hello packet to each member device in the member device group every preset time period, so as to monitor a connection relationship between the management device and each member device in the member device group. If the management device does not receive the message replied by the second member device within the preset time length, the second member device can be considered to be offline, and then the second member device is set to be offline. If the management device receives the message replied by the second member device after sending the SmartMC hello message after a period of time, the second member device can be considered to be on-line again, and the second member device is set to be in an on-line state. The management device may record a time period of an interval between the second member device being in the offline state and returning to the online state, and determine the time period of the interval as the offline time period.
Step 403, the management device determines whether the configuration file corresponding to the member device group recorded locally in the offline time period is updated.
If yes, executing steps 404-405, otherwise, returning to the step 401, and continuing to monitor the states of the member devices in the member device group.
Specifically, as can be seen from the first embodiment, the management device may obtain the configuration file corresponding to the member device group from the FTP server, and may update the configuration file corresponding to the locally recorded member device group, so that the management device may determine, by determining whether the configuration file corresponding to the locally recorded member device group is updated in the offline time period, whether the configuration file corresponding to the member device group recorded in the second member device that is newly online is the latest configuration file, and further determine whether it is necessary to instruct the second member device to perform configuration change.
Step 404, the management device instructs the second member device to perform configuration change using the configuration file corresponding to the updated member device group.
The management device may send the first message to the member devices in the member device group after creating the member device group to indicate the configuration file corresponding to the member device group to which the member device belongs, and reserve the basic configuration item when performing configuration change using the configuration file, and the second member device has previously joined the member device group, so that the second member device may be considered to have opened the basic configuration item reservation function, and may further directly indicate the second member device to perform configuration change.
Of course, in practical applications, when the management device detects that the first message is not sent to the second member device before, the management device may also send the first message to the second member device before instructing the second member device to perform the configuration change, or directly instruct the second member device to reserve the basic configuration item while instructing the second member device to perform the configuration change.
And step 405, the second member device updates the rest configuration items except the basic configuration item by using the configuration file corresponding to the updated member device group.
Based on the two procedures, for the member devices newly joined or newly brought online in the member device group, the management device may also instruct the member devices newly joined or newly brought online to share the configuration file corresponding to the member device group for configuration change on the basis of reserving the basic configuration item. By the method, the configuration file does not need to be edited again for the newly added or newly on-line member equipment, so that the operation process of configuration change can be simplified, and the efficiency of configuration change is improved.
Based on the same technical concept, the embodiment of the present application further provides a communication apparatus corresponding to the management method of the network device, and since the principle of the communication apparatus in the embodiment of the present application for solving the problem is similar to the management method of the network device in the embodiment of the present application, the implementation of the apparatus may refer to the implementation of the method, and repeated details are not described again.
