Detailed Description
As described in the background art, the stretchable degree of the existing stretchable display panel cannot meet the demand of people, and the inventors have studied that the stretchable degree of the stretchable display panel is limited because the stretchable bridges in the existing stretchable display panel have limited stretchability.
As shown in fig. 1, fig. 1 is a schematic top view of a stretchable display panel in a non-stretched state, which includes a plurality of rectangular island-shaped structures 10, a first gap 101 extending along a first direction X and a second gap 102 extending along a second direction Y between the island-shaped structures 10, and two adjacent island-shaped structures 10 are connected by a stretchable bridge 11.
As shown in fig. 2, fig. 2 is a schematic top view of the stretchable display panel shown in fig. 1, when the stretchable display panel is subjected to a stretching force, the width L1 of the first gap 101 in the second direction Y increases, and the width L2 of the second gap 102 in the first direction X increases, so that the whole stretchable display panel is stretched in the first direction X and the second direction Y. However, the existing stretchable display panel cannot satisfy people's needs in terms of the degree of stretchability of the stretchable bridge 11.
Based on this, the present invention provides a stretchable display panel to overcome the above problems in the prior art, including a stretchable substrate and a light emitting device located on the stretchable substrate, where the stretchable substrate includes a plurality of island-shaped substrates arranged at intervals on a plane where the display panel is located;
the plurality of island-shaped substrates at least have a first gap extending along a first direction, a second gap extending along a second direction and a third gap extending along a third direction, the first direction, the second direction and the third direction all intersect with each other, and any two adjacent island-shaped substrates are connected through a stretchable bridge positioned between the two adjacent island-shaped substrates.
The invention also provides a flexible display device comprising the stretchable panel.
According to the stretchable display panel and the flexible display device provided by the invention, at least the first gap extending along the first direction, the second gap extending along the second direction and the third gap extending along the third direction are arranged among the plurality of island-shaped substrates, so that when a stretching force is applied, not only the width of the first gap in the second direction is increased, the width of the second gap in the first direction is increased, but also the widths of the third gap in the second direction and the first direction are increased, and the stretching degree of the stretchable display panel can be improved without changing the stretching capacity of the stretchable bridge.
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
The embodiment of the invention provides a stretchable display panel, which comprises a stretchable substrate and a light-emitting device positioned on the stretchable substrate. The light emitting device may be a light emitting diode, an organic light emitting diode, or the like, and the present invention is not limited thereto.
As shown in fig. 3, fig. 3 is a schematic top view structure diagram of a stretchable display panel provided in an embodiment of the invention when the stretchable display panel is not stretched, the stretchable substrate includes a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged at intervals on a plane of the display panel, at least a first gap 301 extending along a second direction a2, a second gap 302 extending along a first direction a1, and a third gap 303 extending along a third direction A3 are provided between the plurality of island-shaped substrates 30, the first direction a1, the second direction a2, and the third direction A3 all intersect with each other, and any two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 are connected by a stretchable bridge 31 therebetween.
It should be noted that the island-shaped substrate 30 in the embodiment of the present invention is a part of the stretchable substrate, and the island-shaped substrate 30 is a real existing structure, rather than a single island-shaped pattern. In the embodiment of the present invention, the stretchable substrate may be a substrate formed by cutting a flexible substrate and having island-shaped substrates 30 independent of each other and connected by a stretchable bridge 31, but the present invention is not limited thereto. Among them, the material of the stretchable substrate may be Polyimide (PI), Polycarbonate (PC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), or the like.
In addition, the stretchable bridge 31 may be a part of a stretchable substrate, i.e., the stretchable bridge 31 and the island-shaped substrates 30 are cut from a flexible substrate, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and in other embodiments, the stretchable bridge 31 may also be an elastic structure separately formed between the island-shaped substrates 30 by other methods, such as a vapor deposition film.
As shown in fig. 4, fig. 4 is a schematic top view of the stretchable display panel shown in fig. 3, when the stretchable substrate is stretched, the stretchable bridge 31 is stretched to a certain extent and drives the island-shaped substrates 30 to move, so that the gaps between the island-shaped substrates 30, such as the first gap 301, the second gap 302 and the third gap 303, are increased, but the size and shape of each island-shaped substrate 30 are not changed, so as to ensure that the pixel structure and the electrode structure on the island-shaped substrate 30 are not damaged.
Compared with the structure shown in fig. 2, in the structure shown in fig. 4, when the stretchable display panel is subjected to a stretching force, not only the width D1 of the first gap 301 in the first direction a1 is increased, the width D2 of the second gap 302 in the second direction a2 is increased, but also the widths D3 and D4 of the third gap 303 in the first direction a1 and the second direction a2 are increased, so that the stretching degree of the whole stretchable display panel in the first direction a1 and the second direction a2 is increased, and the stretching degree of the stretchable display panel can be increased without changing the stretching ability of the bridge 31.
Also, since the stretchable substrate has a gap extending in another direction, such as a gap extending in the third direction a3, besides the first direction and the second direction, the stretchable display panel in the embodiment of the invention has more stretchable directions and a wider application range compared to the prior art.
Further, at least two adjacent island-like substrates 30 constitute one stretchable unit 3. All the island-shaped substrates 30 on the stretchable base plate constitute a plurality of stretchable units 3, and the plurality of stretchable units 3 are arranged in an array along the first direction a1 and the second direction a2, so that light emitting devices and the like arranged in an array are disposed on the plurality of stretchable units 3 arranged in an array, wherein at least one light emitting device is disposed on one island-shaped substrate 30. Of course, the present invention is not limited thereto, and in other embodiments, the plurality of stretchable units 3 may be arranged in an array along the first direction a1 and the third direction A3, or in an array along the second direction a2 and the third direction A3.
Alternatively, the shape of the stretchable unit 3 is rectangular or parallelogram, however, the invention is not limited thereto, and in other embodiments, the shape of the stretchable unit 3 may also be pentagonal or hexagonal, etc., and the embodiment of the invention is only illustrated by the case that the shape of the stretchable unit 3 is rectangular.
In the structure shown in fig. 3, two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 constitute one stretchable cell 3, and the side edges of the stretchable cell 3 are parallel to the first direction a1 or the second direction a2 with a first gap 301 or a second gap 302 between the adjacent stretchable cells 3. Moreover, the first gaps 301 corresponding to the same row of stretchable cells 3 are located on the same extension line, and the second gaps 302 corresponding to the same column of stretchable cells 3 are located on the same extension line. The island-shaped substrates 30 within the same stretchable unit 3 have a third gap 303 therebetween, and the third gap 303 is located on a diagonal line of the stretchable unit 3. Fig. 3 only illustrates one diagonal line, and in other embodiments, the third gap 303 may also be located on another diagonal line of the stretchable unit 3, which is not described herein again.
Wherein, the third gap 303 is disposed on a diagonal line of the stretchable unit 3, so that two island-shaped substrates 30 in the same stretchable unit 3 can be symmetrically distributed, thereby facilitating uniform distribution of light emitting devices and the like, and facilitating symmetric stretching of the stretchable display panel and the like.
In another stretchable display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 5, fig. 5 is a schematic top view of another stretchable display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, the two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 form a stretchable unit 3, and the shape of the stretchable unit 3 is a parallelogram.
In the structure shown in fig. 5, the sides of the stretchable units 3 are parallel to the first direction a1 or the second direction a2, and adjacent stretchable units 3 have a first gap 301 or a second gap 302 therebetween. The island-shaped substrates 30 within the same stretchable cell 3 have the third gap 303 therebetween, so that the degree of stretch of the entire stretchable display panel in the first direction a1 and the second direction a2 can be increased through the third gap 303, and thus the degree of stretchability of the stretchable display panel can be increased without changing the stretching ability of the stretchable bridge 31.
Alternatively, the island-shaped substrate 30 is in the shape of an equilateral triangle, that is, the included angles between any two of the first direction a1, the second direction a2 and the third direction A3 are equal, that is, all equal to 120 °, so that the stretching degrees of the stretchable display panel in all directions can be approximately equal, that is, the difference of the stretching degrees of the stretchable display panel in different directions can be reduced, and the user experience can be improved.
In another stretchable display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, as shown in fig. 6, fig. 6 is a schematic top view of another stretchable display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention, wherein the stretchable unit 3 is formed by four adjacent island-shaped substrates 30.
Specifically, the island-shaped substrate 30 is a triangle, and alternatively, the triangle may be an isosceles triangle. The stretchable unit 3 is formed by four triangular island-shaped substrates 30 in a substantially quadrangular pattern. Here, the shape is defined as a general shape of a projection of the island-shaped substrate 30 in a plane direction perpendicular to the display panel in a state where the display panel is flat.
Alternatively, the island-shaped substrates 30 are substantially the same in shape and size, and the stretchable units 3 are substantially the same in shape and size.
As shown in fig. 6, the side edges of the stretchable unit 3 are parallel to the first direction a1 or the second direction a2, e.g., one side edge is parallel to the first direction a1 and the other side edge is parallel to the second direction a2 among two adjacent side edges of the rectangular stretchable unit 3. Adjacent stretchable units 3 have a first gap 301 or a second gap 302 therebetween, e.g., the second gap 302 between the adjacent stretchable units 3 in the second direction a2, and the first gap 301 between the adjacent stretchable units 3 in the first direction a 1. Also, the island-shaped substrates 30 within the same stretchable unit 3 have third and fourth gaps 303 and 304 therebetween, the fourth gap 304 extends along a fourth direction a4, and the fourth direction a4 intersects with all of the first, second, and third directions a1, a2, and A3.
Alternatively, the third gap 303 is located on one diagonal of the stretchable unit 3, the fourth gap 304 is located on the other diagonal of the stretchable unit 3, and the third gap 303 and the fourth gap 304 intersect, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and the third gap 303 and the fourth gap 304 may not be located on the diagonal of the stretchable unit 3 in other embodiments.
Also, the third gap 303 is disposed on one diagonal line of the stretchable unit 3 and the fourth gap 304 is disposed on the other diagonal line of the stretchable unit 3, so that the four island-shaped substrates 30 within the same stretchable unit 3 can be centrally symmetrically distributed, thereby facilitating uniform distribution of light emitting devices and the like, and facilitating symmetric stretching of the stretchable display panel and the like.
As shown in fig. 7, fig. 7 is a schematic top view structural diagram of the stretchable display panel shown in fig. 6 when stretched, when the stretchable display panel is subjected to a stretching force, not only the width D1 of the first gap 301 in the first direction a1 is increased, the width D2 of the second gap 302 in the second direction a2 is increased, but also the widths D3, D4 of the third gap 303 in the first direction a1 and the second direction a2 are increased, and the widths D5, D6 of the fourth gap 304 in the first direction a1 and the second direction a2 are also increased, so that the stretching degree of the whole stretchable display panel in the first direction a1 and the second direction a2 is increased, and further, the stretching degree of the stretchable display panel can be increased without changing the stretching ability of the stretchable bridge 31.
In addition, according to the embodiment of the application, when the stretchable display panel is subjected to stretching force, the gaps between the island-shaped substrates are deformed into the hollow-out areas with larger areas from the strip-shaped gaps in the original unstretched state, and the stretchable bridge and the plurality of island-shaped substrates form the hollow-out areas.
Moreover, in the present embodiment, for example, a first gap 301 is formed between two adjacent island-shaped substrates, and a second gap 302 is formed between two adjacent island-shaped substrates; one hollow-out area may be formed by two first gaps 301 and two second gaps 302, in other words, along the second direction a2, at least two small gaps, such as the first gaps 301, constitute a large gap extending and communicating along the second direction a 2; gaps along other directions are the same. Therefore, when the display panel is stretched, even if the deformation degree of the display panel is increased, one hollow area can be obtained by deforming more small gaps, namely the number of the island-shaped substrates surrounding the hollow area is increased, so that even if the deformation is large, the island-shaped substrates can share the deformation, the distortion degree between two adjacent island-shaped substrates is reduced, the distortion of a display picture in a stretching state is improved, and the user experience is improved.
As shown in fig. 8, fig. 8 is a schematic cross-sectional structure diagram of a stretchable display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, in which at least one light emitting device 32 is disposed on one island-shaped substrate 30, the stretchable display panel further includes a driving circuit electrically connected to the light emitting device 32, a gate line and a data line electrically connected to the driving circuit, and the like, the driving circuit includes a thin film transistor T disposed on the island-shaped substrate 30, a drain of the thin film transistor T is connected to a pixel electrode 33, the pixel electrode 33 is electrically connected to one side of the light emitting device 32, and the other side of the light emitting device 32 opposite to the common electrode 34 is electrically connected to the. After the gate line transmits a scan signal to the driving circuit and the data line transmits a data signal to the driving circuit, the driving circuit supplies a current to the light emitting device 32 through the turned-on thin film transistor T and the pixel electrode 33, so that the light emitting device 32 emits light to display a picture.
In addition, the stretchable display panel further includes a thin film encapsulation layer for encapsulating the light emitting device 32, and a touch electrode 40 and the like located above the thin film encapsulation layer for touch position detection. In the embodiment of the present invention, only the island-shaped substrate 30 having two light emitting devices 32 thereon is taken as an example for description, and the present invention is not limited thereto.
Alternatively, the gate lines extend along the plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in any direction of the stretchable display panel, the data lines extend along the plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in any direction of the stretchable display panel, and the extending direction of the gate lines is different from the extending direction of the data lines.
As shown in fig. 9, fig. 9 is a schematic diagram of a distribution of gate lines and data lines on the stretchable display panel shown in fig. 3, the gate lines 35 extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in a first direction a1, that is, the gate lines 35 generally extend in the first direction a1, and the gate lines 35 sequentially pass through the island-shaped substrates 30 arranged adjacently in the first direction a 1. And a portion of the gate line 35 passing through a gap between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 is located on the stretchable bridge 31; the data line 36 extends along the plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the second direction a2, and a portion of the data line 36 passing through a gap between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 is located on the stretchable bridge 31. At least the gate lines 35 and the data lines 36 are ensured to intersect in a general extending direction, and at least one gate line 35 and one data line 36 are passed over each island-shaped substrate 30.
Of course, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the gate lines may also extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the second direction a2 or the third direction A3, and the data lines may also extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the third direction A3 or the first direction a1, as long as it is ensured that the gate lines and the data lines do not extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the same direction.
As shown in fig. 10, fig. 10 is a schematic diagram of a distribution of gate lines and data lines on the stretchable display panel shown in fig. 6, the gate lines 35 extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in a third direction a3, and a portion of the gate lines 35 passing through a gap between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 is located on the stretchable bridge 31; the data line 36 extends along the plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the fourth direction a4, and a portion of the data line 36 passing through a gap between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 is located on the stretchable bridge 31.
Also, the present invention is not limited thereto, and the gate lines may extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the first direction a1, the second direction a2, or the fourth direction a4, and the data lines may extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the third direction A3, the first direction a1, or the second direction a2, as long as it is ensured that the gate lines and the data lines do not extend along a plurality of island-shaped substrates 30 arranged in the same direction.
In the configuration shown in fig. 3 and 6, only the first direction a1 is taken as a horizontal direction and the second direction a2 is taken as a vertical direction for explanation, but the present invention is not limited to this. For example, when the shape of the stretchable unit 3 is a parallelogram, the first direction a1 is a horizontal direction, and the second direction a2 is a direction having an angle with a vertical direction.
Alternatively, the island-shaped substrate 30 is triangular in shape to pass through the triangular island-shaped substrate 30 such that the first gap 301, the second gap 302, and the third gap 303 form a triangular gap as shown in fig. 4, or such that the first gap 301 and the second gap 302, the third gap 303, and the fourth gap 304 form a star-shaped gap of four corners as shown in fig. 7, to further increase the stretchability of the stretchable display panel.
That is, adjacent gaps on the stretchable substrate may communicate with each other to form a large gap. As shown in fig. 4, the first gap 301, the second gap 302 and the third gap 303 in the embodiment of the present invention refer to a gap between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30, and when the stretchable units 3 are arranged in an array, the adjacent first gap 301, second gap 302 and third gap 303 may be connected to form a large triangular gap, so that the stretchability of the stretchable display panel may be further increased.
As shown in fig. 7, the first gap 301, the second gap 302, the third gap 303 and the fourth gap 304 in the embodiment of the present invention also refer to only the gap between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30, when the stretchable unit 3 is arranged in an array, two adjacent first gaps 301 and two adjacent second gaps 302 may be connected to form a large four-corner star-shaped gap, and two adjacent third gaps 303 and two adjacent fourth gaps 304 may be connected to form a large four-corner star-shaped gap, so that the stretchability of the stretchable display panel may be further increased.
Further, an angle of any one corner of the triangle is less than or equal to 90 °, and a sum of the three angles is equal to 180 °, to balance the stretching degrees of the gaps in the three different directions, so that the stretchable display panel is uniformly stretched toward the first direction a1 and the second direction a 2. Optionally, each corner of the triangle is equal to 60 ° to further ensure that the stretchable display panel is stretched equally in the first direction a1 and the second direction a 2.
It should be noted that the stretchable bridge 31 is bent or curved in a non-stretched state, wherein the stretchable bridge 31 penetrates through a gap on the stretchable display panel, such as the first gap 301, the second gap 302, the third gap 303 or the fourth gap 304, and is connected to the island-shaped substrate 30 at two sides of the gap, so as to drive the island-shaped substrate 30 to move under the action of a stretching force.
Moreover, one end of the stretchable bridge 31 is connected to a corner of one triangular island-shaped substrate 30, and the other end of the stretchable bridge 31 is connected to a corner of another triangular island-shaped substrate 30, although the invention is not limited thereto, and in other embodiments, one end of the stretchable bridge 31 is connected to another portion, such as a side, of one island-shaped substrate 30, and thus, a detailed description thereof is omitted.
Referring to fig. 2 and 7, assuming that the stretchable unit 3 is square, the side length is W, and the included angle between two adjacent island-shaped substrates 30 after stretching is 2 θ, L1=2W [ (sin θ + cos θ) -1] after stretching the structure shown in fig. 2, D1=2W [ sin θ + cos (45 ° - θ) + sin (45 ° + θ) -1] after stretching the structure shown in fig. 7, and thus it can be seen that, as long as 0< θ ≦ 90 °, D1 in fig. 7 is larger than L1 in fig. 2, that is, the gap in the embodiment of the present invention is larger than the gap in the prior art, so that the stretching degree of the stretchable display panel can be increased.
An embodiment of the present invention further provides a flexible display device, as shown in fig. 11, fig. 11 is a schematic structural diagram of the flexible display device provided in the embodiment of the present invention, and the flexible display device P includes the stretchable panel provided in any one of the embodiments.
