The second data lines 24 extend in the first direction X and are arranged in the second direction Y. The second gate driving units 28 are arranged along the first direction X, and the second gate driving units 28 are electrically connected to the second gate lines 22.
The foldable display panel 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention has different arrangements of data lines, gate lines, and gate driving circuits in the non-folding region 10 and the folding region 20. As shown in fig. 1, the trace extending along the first direction X is the first gate line 12 in the non-folding area 10 and the first data line 24 in the folding area 20, that is, the first gate line 12 in the non-folding area 10 and the first data line 24 in the folding area 20 extend in the same direction and are disposed approximately parallel to each other. The trace extending along the second direction Y is the first data line 14 in the non-folding area 10 and the first gate line 22 in the folding area 20, that is, the first data line 14 in the non-folding area 10 and the first gate line 22 in the folding area 20 extend in the same direction and are arranged approximately parallel to each other.
It should be noted that, in fig. 1, the embodiment of the present invention shows a case where one second gate driving unit 28 is electrically connected to one second gate line 22, and in other embodiments of the present invention, one second gate driving unit 28 may be electrically connected to at least two second gate lines 22 according to circuit design and signal design changes, and control the at least two second gate lines 22 to provide the second turn-on signal.
In the foldable display panel 100 according to the embodiment of the present invention, the first gate driving unit 18 located in the non-folding region 10 and the second gate driving unit 28 located in the folding region 20 are designed independently, so that the second gate driving unit 28 is not affected by the bending of the display panel, and the first gate driving unit 18 and the second gate driving unit 28 respectively drive the first pixel 16 in the non-folding region 10 and the second pixel 26 in the non-folding region 20, thereby improving the driving capability of the foldable display panel 100 as a whole and increasing the reliability and stability of the product.
Further, as shown in fig. 1, the first gate line 12 and the second gate line 22 are insulated from each other, the first gate line 12 provides a first turn-on signal for the first pixel 16, and the second gate line 22 provides a second turn-on signal for the second pixel 26. The first and second gate lines 12 and 22 may independently control the first and second pixels 16 and 26, respectively, thereby enhancing the reliability of the foldable display panel 100.
Further, as shown in fig. 1, one first data line 14 is electrically connected to one second data line 24, and the first data line 14 is insulated from the other second data lines 24. Meanwhile, one second data line 24 is electrically connected to one first data line 14, and the second data line 24 is insulated from the other first data lines 14. That is, the first data lines 14 and the second data lines 24 are electrically connected in one-to-one correspondence with each other.
As can be seen, in the foldable display panel 100 provided in the embodiment of the present invention, since the first data lines 14 and the second data lines 24 are connected in a one-to-one correspondence, the port of the first data line 14 can be used to provide data to the port of the second data line 24, so as to avoid directly extending the second data line 24 to the chip. Thereby avoiding the problem of increasing the area of the opaque region caused by the second data line 24 extending directly to the chip, and improving the transmittance of the foldable display panel 100. Moreover, the first data line 14 and the second data line 24 provide display data from the same port, which can improve the uniformity of data transmission of the foldable display panel 100.
Further, the foldable display panel 100 provided by the embodiment of the invention can also design the first pixel and the second pixel differently. As shown in fig. 2A, a length X1 of the first pixel 16 extending along the first direction X and a length X2 of the second pixel 26 extending along the first direction X may be set to be unequal. Fig. 2A illustrates a case where the length X2 extending along the first direction X of the second pixel 26 may be greater than the length X1 extending along the first direction X of the first pixel 16.
The length Y1 of the first pixel 16 extending along the second direction Y and the length Y2 of the second pixel 26 extending along the second direction Y may also be set to be unequal or equal. Fig. 2A shows a case where the length Y2 of the second pixel 26 extending in the second direction Y is equal to the length Y1 of the first pixel 16 extending in the second direction Y along the first pixel 16. In other embodiments of the present invention, the length Y2 of the second pixel 26 extending along the second direction Y may not be equal to the length Y1 of the first pixel 16 extending along the first pixel 16 along the second direction Y.
Embodiments of the present invention may also set the pitch P1 between the first pixels 16 and the pitch P2 between the second pixels 26 to be unequal. With continued reference to FIG. 2A, the pitch P1 between the first pixels 16 is less than the pitch P2 between the second pixels 26. Therefore, the pixel pitch of the folding area 20 can be larger, and the folding area is easier to bend, and the negative lines among the pixels can be widened or designed into broken lines, so that the bending resistance of the display device in the folding area 20 is increased.
Further, as shown in fig. 2B, the length of the first pixel 16 extending in the first direction X and the length of the second pixel 26 extending in the second direction Y may be set to be equal. At the same time, the length of the first pixel 16 extending in the second direction Y and the length of the second pixel 26 extending in the first direction X may be set to be equal. I.e. the shape of the second pixel 26 is the same as the shape of the first pixel 16 rotated about 90 degrees in the clockwise direction.
According to the foldable display panel 100 provided by the embodiment of the invention, on the basis of adjusting the size and the distance of the pixels according to the requirement of the folding region 20 and the non-folding region 10 on the bending degree and improving the bending performance of the foldable display panel 100, the areas and the shapes of the first pixels 16 and the second pixels 26 are the same, and the uniformity of pixel display of the foldable display panel 100 is improved.
Further, as shown in fig. 3, the foldable display panel 100 further includes a substrate base material 50. At least one inorganic buffer layer 51 is disposed between the substrate 50 and the first gate line 12 in the non-folding region 10. In the non-folding region 10, the foldable display panel 100 further includes at least one inorganic buffer layer 51, a gate insulating layer, a semiconductor layer, a first metal layer, a first insulating layer, a second insulating layer, and a second metal layer on a side of the substrate 50 adjacent to the first gate line 12. The first gate line 12 is located on the first metal layer, and the first data line 14 is located on the second metal layer.
At least one organic buffer layer 52 is disposed between the substrate 50 and the second gate line 22 in the folding region 20. In the folding region 20, the foldable display panel 100 further includes at least one organic buffer layer 52, a gate insulating layer, a semiconductor layer, a first metal layer, a first insulating layer, a second insulating layer, and a second metal layer on the substrate 50 at a side close to the second gate line 22. The second gate line 22 is located in the first metal layer, and the second data line 24 is located in the second metal layer.
According to the foldable display panel 100 provided by the embodiment of the invention, the organic buffer layer 52 which is easier to bend is used for replacing the inorganic buffer layer 51 in the folding area 20, so that the risk that the display device is influenced by the folding area 20 due to cracks generated by bending is reduced. The display effect and the product reliability of the foldable display panel 100 are improved.

The second gate driving unit 28 is located in the third non-display region 201. The third gate driving unit 38 is located in the second non-display region 1021.
Further, referring to fig. 4 and fig. 5, the length of the first non-folding region 101 along the first direction X is d1, the length of the folding region 20 along the first direction X is d2, the length of the second non-folding region 102 along the first direction X is d3, the length of the folding region 20 along the second direction Y is h, d1, d2, d3 and h are all greater than 0, and d1, d2, d3 and h satisfy the relationship d1+ d2+ d3> h. The length of the foldable display panel 100 along the first direction X is greater than the length of the foldable display panel 100 along the second direction Y, i.e. the width of the foldable display panel 100 is greater than the length, i.e. the foldable display panel 100 is a horizontal screen. The bending axis of the foldable display panel 100 is parallel to the second direction Y.
According to the foldable display panel 100 provided by the embodiment of the invention, by setting the sum of the lengths of the two non-folding areas and the folding area between the two non-folding areas to be greater than the maximum width of each area of the display panel, the design of the first gate line 12, the second gate line 22 and the third gate line 32 can be better matched, the driving capability of the display panel is increased while the area of the display area of the foldable display panel 100 is further increased when the foldable display panel is unfolded, and the display effect is improved.
The embodiment of the present invention further provides a foldable display device, and fig. 6A shows a schematic diagram of the foldable display device 500 when it is unfolded, and the foldable display device 500 includes any one of the foldable display panels 100 provided in the embodiment of the present invention.
