Fig. 1 is a schematic view of a structure of a connector shown according to an exemplary embodiment, and fig. 2 is an exploded schematic view of a connector shown according to an exemplary embodiment. As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the connector 100 may include a housing assembly 1 and a plug body 2. The housing assembly 1 may include a first opening 11 and a second opening 12, and the second opening 12 is in communication with the first opening 11, so that the plug body 2 can penetrate through the first opening 11 and protrude from the second opening 12, and forms a plug cavity in cooperation with the housing assembly 1, so that the opposite-end connector can be inserted into the plug cavity to perform communication connection with the connector 100. The plug body 2 may include a shielding sheet 21, the shielding sheet 21 may extend along the plugging direction a of the connector 100, and at least a portion of the shielding sheet 21 protrudes from a corresponding surface of the plug body 2 to form a connecting portion 211, the connecting portion 211 is fixedly connected to the housing assembly 1, so as to fixedly assemble the plug body 2 on the housing assembly 1, thereby avoiding the use of other components, facilitating the thinning of the connector 100, and optimizing the layout of the electronic device.
For example, as shown in fig. 2, the plug main body 2 may include an insulating body 22, the insulating body 22 may be formed by injection molding based on the shapes and positions of the plug terminals and the shielding plates 21 on the plug main body 2, or the insulating body 22 may be processed by other processes, which is not limited by the disclosure. As shown in fig. 3, the shielding plate 21 may include a shielding body 212 located in the insulating body 22, a plug portion 213 connected to an end of the shielding body 212, and a connecting portion 211 connected to an end of the shielding body 212, wherein the connecting portion 211 and the plug portion 213 are separated from each other, and the plug portion 213 also protrudes from a corresponding surface of the plug main body 2 for assembling the connector 100 into the electronic device. Wherein, connecting portion 211 and housing assembly 1 can adopt laser welding or laser welding to fix between them, and this disclosure does not limit this.
In the above embodiments, as also shown in fig. 2, the housing assembly 1 may include a first housing 13 and a second housing 14, wherein the first opening 11 and the second opening 12 are located on the first housing 13, that is, the plug body 2 may be inserted into the first housing 13. The first shell 13 can be formed by a deep drawing process to save the internal space of the electronic device as much as possible; when the first housing 13 is formed by a deep drawing process, the surface of the first housing 13 cannot be formed into a structure for assembling the connector 100 into the electronic device, so the second housing 14 fixedly connected to the first housing 13 may be formed to fix the connector 100 into the electronic device through the second housing 14. Wherein the first housing 13 may be substantially stepped, for example, as shown in fig. 1, the height of the first opening 11 may be smaller than the height of the second opening 12, and the first opening 11 may be closer to the central region of the electronic device than the second opening 12 to optimize the internal layout of the electronic device.
Similarly, when the first housing 13 is formed by a deep drawing process, since there is no other structure on the first housing 13 that can be used for fixing or connecting, the connecting portion 211 can be connected with the second housing 14 to fix the plug body 2 and the housing assembly 1. For example, as shown in fig. 4 and 5, the first housing 13 may include a first surface 131, and the second housing 14 may include a main body 141 disposed corresponding to the first surface 131, a bent portion 142 bent along a side edge of the first housing 13, and a fitting portion 143 for fitting the connector 100. The bent portion 142 may be used for the connection portion 211 to connect.
In an embodiment, as shown in fig. 5, the second housing 14 may be bent along the side edge of the connection portion between the first surface 131 and the first opening 11 to form a bent portion 142, and welded to the connection portion 211, so that the second housing 14 can be contacted with the connection portion 211 after being bent once, the process is simplified,
in another embodiment, the first housing 13 may include a second surface 132 disposed perpendicular to the first opening 11, as shown in fig. 6, the second housing 14 is bent along a side edge of a connection between the first surface 131 and the second surface 132 to form a bent portion 142, and a surface of the plug body 2 corresponding to the connection portion 211 is disposed corresponding to the first opening 11. Therefore, in order to make the connection between the connection portion 211 and the bending portion 142 perpendicular to each other, in one case, as shown in fig. 6, the bending portion 142 is bent toward the corresponding surface of the connection portion 211 to form a first clamping edge 1421, and the first clamping edge 1421 is connected to the connection portion 211; further, a groove may be formed on the insulating body 22 of the plug main body 2, and the edge of the groove is bent by the bending portion 142, so that the first clamping edge 1421 is accommodated in the groove, thereby avoiding increasing the length of the connector 100.
In another case, as shown in fig. 7, the connection portion 211 may be bent toward the second surface 132 to form a second locking edge 2111, and the second locking edge 2111 is connected to the bent portion 142, so as to avoid machining the second housing 14 and simplify the machining process of the second housing 14.
In the above embodiments, the shielding sheet 21 may include one or more pieces, which is not limited by the present disclosure. When the shielding plate 21 is a single piece, the connecting portion 211 may be located substantially in a middle region of the first opening 11, or may be located in an edge region of the first opening 11, or may include a plurality of connecting portions 211, and the connecting portions are symmetrically arranged with respect to a center of the first opening 11, so as to achieve a stable connection between the housing assembly 1 and the plug body 2; when the shielding plate 21 is a plurality of shielding plates 21, the plurality of shielding plates 21 may be symmetrically disposed with respect to the axis of the plug body 2, and each shielding plate 21 may include a connecting portion 211 thereon, which is not limited in this disclosure.
Based on the technical solution of the present disclosure, the connector 100 may include a USB connection joint, for example, a type-a connector, a type-b connector, a type-c connector, etc., which is not limited by the present disclosure. The connector 100 can be applied to an electronic device 200 shown in fig. 8, the electronic device 200 includes a motherboard 301 and the connector 100 described in any of the above embodiments, the connector 100 can be electrically connected to the motherboard to implement the corresponding function of the electronic device 200 through the connector 100, and as shown in fig. 5, the connector 100 can be located at the bottom of the electronic device 200 (i.e., the end of the electronic device that faces the ground when the user holds the electronic device in a normal state) to serve as a charging interface, an earphone interface, a data transmission interface, etc. of the electronic device 200; the electronic device 200 may include a mobile phone, a tablet computer, an e-reader, etc., which is not limited by this disclosure.
Other embodiments of the disclosure will be apparent to those skilled in the art from consideration of the specification and practice of the disclosure disclosed herein. This application is intended to cover any variations, uses, or adaptations of the disclosure following, in general, the principles of the disclosure and including such departures from the present disclosure as come within known or customary practice within the art to which the disclosure pertains. It is intended that the specification and examples be considered as exemplary only, with a true scope and spirit of the disclosure being indicated by the following claims.
It will be understood that the present disclosure is not limited to the precise arrangements described above and shown in the drawings and that various modifications and changes may be made without departing from the scope thereof. The scope of the present disclosure is limited only by the appended claims.
