Detailed Description
In order to more clearly illustrate the invention, the invention is further described below with reference to preferred embodiments and the accompanying drawings. Similar parts in the figures are denoted by the same reference numerals. It is to be understood by persons skilled in the art that the following detailed description is illustrative and not restrictive, and is not to be taken as limiting the scope of the invention.
Various cross-sectional views in accordance with the disclosed embodiment of the invention are shown in the drawings. The figures are not drawn to scale, wherein certain details are exaggerated and possibly omitted for clarity of presentation. The shapes of various regions, layers, and relative sizes and positional relationships therebetween shown in the drawings are merely exemplary, and deviations may occur in practice due to manufacturing tolerances or technical limitations, and a person skilled in the art may additionally design regions/layers having different shapes, sizes, relative positions, as actually required.
Compared with an OLED display screen, the LCD display screen has the advantages of low price, low manufacturing process requirement and high resolution, is widely applied to various display devices such as computers and televisions and commonly used smart phones, and has the trend of improving screen occupation ratio.
The special-shaped display screen is a display screen which is transformed into a special shape on the basis of the existing display screen technology, and by taking a smart phone with various functions as an example, please refer to fig. 1, the special-shaped display screen can design the display screen into a maximum pattern which can avoid the functional module according to the size and the position of the functional module. In general, a special-shaped display screen can be divided into a main display area and a special-shaped display area, and the special-shaped display area is generally used for displaying fragmentary functional information such as time, caller identification and the like due to the limitation of shape and size.
However, the current special-shaped display screen is limited by the design of the existing control module, even if the special-shaped display area can display different information from the main display area, the special-shaped display area cannot display the information independently, when a user only has the display requirement of functional information, the whole display screen is required to be lightened frequently, and the display screen belongs to the part with the largest power consumption proportion of display equipment such as a mobile phone, so that a large amount of electricity waste is caused, especially for mobile terminals such as the mobile phone, the stored electricity is limited, the electricity is required to be charged frequently after being lost, and inconvenience is brought to the user. In addition, in order to solve the above problems, a possible implementation manner that can be thought of by those skilled in the art is generally to provide two display screens, such an implementation manner causes the display area to require at least two sets of mutually independent control modules, and how to naturally link the two sets of independent control modules on the display content is also one of the problems that are difficult to solve, and if only one display screen is provided, how to independently light the special-shaped display area without causing light influence on the main display area is also a problem that needs to be solved in the special-shaped display of the liquid crystal module at present. For example, the light emitting elements shown in fig. 1 are concentrated on one side, and separate lighting of the special-shaped display area cannot be completed.
In view of the above, an aspect of the present invention provides an embodiment of a liquid crystal display module, which is shown in fig. 2 and includes a first display area 11; a second display area 12; a first group of light emitting elements 41 for lighting the first display region 11 and the second display region 12 simultaneously; for individually illuminating the second group of light-emitting elements 42 of the second display region 12.
As is apparent to one skilled in the art, the LCD module can be a special-shaped display module.
According to the invention, the light-emitting elements capable of independently lighting the second display area 12 are arranged, so that independent display is realized on the same screen, the second display area 12 of the special-shaped display screen can be designed according to specific conditions, the designed gaps can avoid respective functional modules, and the light-emitting components can independently light the second display area 12, so that electric energy is saved.
Alternatively, taking a mobile phone as an example, the present invention provides a more specific embodiment, please refer to fig. 2, in which the first group of light emitting elements 41 and the second group of light emitting elements 42 are both disposed at a side close to the second display region 12.
In the preferred scheme, two groups of light-emitting elements are arranged on the same side, so that the light-emitting elements can be designed into a connected structure, and the manufacturing cost and the manufacturing difficulty are greatly reduced.
Alternatively, there may be one, two, or even a plurality of second display regions 12, which are different only in their respective designs and arrangement positions and arrangement manners of the light emitting elements, and for example, there are two second display regions 12, and each second display region 12 is formed by extending the outer side portion 111 of the first display region 11.
For another example, the number of the second display regions 12 is one, and the second display regions 12 are formed by extending the middle portion 112 of the first display region 11.
Based on the above-mentioned alternative embodiment that the second display area 12 is two, please refer to fig. 3, the second display area 12 includes a top edge 123 along the extending direction thereof and two side edges (an inner edge 121 and an outer edge 122), the first group of light emitting elements 41 are disposed at the position of the top edge 123 of the second display area 12 and at the position of the edge of the middle portion of the first display area 11 near the side of the second display area 12; the second group of light-emitting elements 42 is arranged at the edge position of the outer side 122 of each second display area 12; alternatively, the second group of light emitting elements 42 is arranged at an edge position of the inner side 121 of each second display area 12.
In the above alternative embodiment, although the second group of light emitting elements 42 may be disposed on the outer side 122 or the inner side 121 of the second display region 12, when disposed on the outer side 122, the first group of light emitting elements 41 and the second group of light emitting elements 42 cannot be connected, so that two rows of light emitting elements are required, which increases the process cost, and when disposed on the inner side 121, obviously, only one row of light emitting elements needs to be bent, which greatly reduces the cost.
In addition, in one embodiment of the present aspect, since the display area of the second display region 12 is smaller and the arrangement space of the second group of light emitting elements 42 is correspondingly smaller, the flexible circuit board connected to the second group of light emitting elements 42 can be disposed on the pad of the flexible circuit board connected to the first group of light emitting elements 41, specifically, as shown in fig. 5 to 6, the module further includes the first flexible circuit board 21, the second flexible circuit board 22 and the driving chip 3; the driving chip 3 controls the first group of light-emitting elements 41 to emit light through the first flexible circuit board 21, and controls the second group of light-emitting elements 42 to emit light through the second flexible circuit board 22; wherein, one end of the second flexible circuit board 22 is fixed on the first flexible circuit board 21.
In one embodiment of the present invention, in order to further increase the screen ratio of the display panel, the Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) to which the light emitting element is connected is bent, and as shown in fig. 7, the first flexible printed circuit 21 includes: the bending section 212, and the first main body section 211 and the second main body section 213 connected to two ends of the bending section 212, wherein the first main body section 211 is located at one side of the module close to the display screen, and the second main body section 213 is located at one side of the module away from the display screen; the driving chip 3 is disposed on the second main body section 213. After the flexible circuit board is bent, the occupied space is greatly reduced, so that display devices such as mobile phones can be smaller, and the screen occupation ratio is higher. The driving chip 3 is arranged on one side departing from the display screen, so that more display space is reserved for the front side of the display screen, and the screen occupation ratio is further improved.
In addition, in this aspect, description will be made with reference to fig. 3 and 4, where fig. 4 is a structural view of the first flexible circuit board when it is arranged straight, and it is necessary to bend the first flexible circuit board into the shape shown in fig. 5 when it is used. The first flexible circuit board 21 includes a fixed section 214 with one end fixed to one side of the module away from the display screen and extending sections 215 formed by extending two side portions of the top edge of the other end of the fixed section 214 outwards, and each extending section 215 is fixed to the position of the module corresponding to the second display area 12 in a bending manner; a gap area 13 is formed between the two second display areas 12, a cavity corresponding to the gap area 13 is formed between the two bent extension sections 215, and at least one functional module is arranged in the cavity.
Optionally, the functional module includes a camera module, a fingerprint recognition module, an earpiece module and a flash module.
Optionally, the display content of the second display area 12 includes time, power, incoming call reminder, information, and mail.
In addition, in another aspect of the present invention, the present invention provides a display device, which includes the above module, and specifically, the display device is a product with any display function, such as a liquid crystal television, a digital photo frame, a mobile phone, a tablet computer, and a navigator.
The terms "first," "second," and the like in the description and claims of the present invention and in the above-described drawings are used for distinguishing between different objects and not for describing a particular order. Furthermore, the terms "include" and "have," as well as any variations thereof, are intended to cover non-exclusive inclusions. For example, a process, method, system, article, or apparatus that comprises a list of steps or elements is not limited to only those steps or elements listed, but may alternatively include other steps or elements not listed, or may alternatively include other gas steps or elements inherent to such process, method, or apparatus.
It should be understood that the above-mentioned embodiments of the present invention are only examples for clearly illustrating the present invention, and are not intended to limit the embodiments of the present invention, and it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that other variations or modifications may be made on the basis of the above description, and all embodiments may not be exhaustive, and all obvious variations or modifications may be included within the scope of the present invention.
