The invention discloses a password input protection system and a method, which comprises the following steps of setting a password for a corresponding application program and storing the set password; hiding one or more characters in each stored password; after entering a password input interface of a corresponding application program, selecting a corresponding password from the stored passwords according to the application program needing password input at present; outputting the password which is selected in the storage and is subjected to the hiding processing to a password input box corresponding to the password input interface of the application program for displaying; and comparing the selected password with the password set by the corresponding application program to realize password authentication. According to the invention, a user does not need to manually input the password through a keyboard, and the password to be input is directly selected in the storage, so that the password can be prevented from being peeped by others. The password input convenience is improved while the password is protected, the complex password input efficiency and accuracy are improved, and the possibility of password leakage is greatly reduced.

With the rapid development of the internet, the dependence of users on smart phones is increasing, so that various client applications are brought to the end, some applications related to security or personal privacy need to be used through identity verification, and if the applications are operated in public places, passwords are peeped and stolen by people, which may cause huge property loss or leakage of personal privacy.
