Description

Content charging method and system
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of software defined networks, and in particular, to a content charging method and system.
Background
The content charging refers to charging by using a corresponding charging method according to the characteristics in the traffic, for example, identifying the application, service or service to which the traffic belongs according to the characteristics in the traffic, and charging according to the charging rule corresponding to the application, service or service.
Currently, there are two main ways of charging for content.
The first method is to identify and apply a DPI (deep Packet Inspection) board built in a PDSN (Packet Data Serving Node) device and a PGW (PDN GateWay, Public Data Network GateWay) device, and implement traffic charging for specific content. However, since the DPI function is built into the network device, it is difficult to efficiently implement the detection of the application layer traffic. Meanwhile, the detection function of the device needs to be upgraded according to the change of the application, and the flexibility is poor.
The second way is to identify the application Content and implement the Traffic Charging for the specific Content by using the CCG (Content Charging Gateway) and the TDF (Traffic Detection Function) device which are independently deployed in the mobile packet domain and serially connected to the uplink of the PDSN and the PGW device. An application scenario of this method can be seen, for example, in fig. 1. As shown in fig. 1, all traffic received by the PDSN is directed to the CCG/TDF for detection and then sent by the CCG/TDF for internet purposes. In the flow charging stage of the content, after the CCG/TDF charges the flow, due to the user policy, part of the packets are subject to policy control on the PDSN/PGW device and packet loss occurs actively, and in this case, the calculation of the content flow of the actual user will generate a deviation, and accurate charging cannot be realized.
Moreover, because the PDSN/PGW and the CCG/TDF are connected in series, even if detection of a certain application flow is completed and content charging is not required, the flow rate of the application flow passes through the CCG/TDF device, which results in unnecessary performance consumption.

Fig. 2 is a schematic view of an application scenario of the content charging method of the present invention. As shown in fig. 2, the traffic scheduling apparatus is connected to the user terminal and the internet through the core network, and receives traffic sent by the user or returns downlink traffic of the user to the user; the PCRF is connected with a traffic scheduling device (such as PDSN and PGW) to acquire the online condition of a user; the content charging device (such as CCG, TDF) is connected with the flow scheduling device, receives the content charging flow forwarded by the flow scheduling device and charges the content; the controller is connected with the PCRF, the traffic scheduling device and the content charging device and is used for issuing a flow table for indicating traffic scheduling to the traffic scheduling device according to information uploaded by the PCRF, the traffic scheduling device and the content charging device; the OCS (Online Charging System) is connected to the content Charging device, and performs Charging processing according to a Charging result of the content Charging device. The application scenario shown in fig. 2 is only exemplary and is used to explain one application scenario of the present invention, and does not have any limiting effect on the present invention.
A content charging method according to an embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to fig. 3.
Fig. 3 is a flowchart of an embodiment of a content charging method according to the present invention. As shown in fig. 3, the method of this embodiment includes:
in step S302, the content charging apparatus receives the traffic of the content charging user sent by the traffic scheduling apparatus.
The content charging device is a device that can perform content analysis and identification on the traffic and perform content charging on the traffic, and may be, for example, a CCG, a TDF device, or the like.
The content charging user refers to a user who opens a content charging service, and the traffic of the content charging user may include uplink traffic and downlink traffic. The content charging apparatus may determine the user to which the traffic belongs according to address information corresponding to the user in the received traffic, for example, determine the user to which the traffic belongs according to source address information of the uplink traffic or destination address information of the downlink traffic, and then determine the traffic corresponding to the address information of the content charging user as the traffic of the content charging user.
Of all traffic received and sent by the content charging subscriber, part is content charging required and part is content charging unnecessary. For example, a user sends or receives traffic of service a, service B and service C, and the user only opens the content charging service of service a and service B, and the traffic of service a and service B of the user needs charging policies such as cost reduction, free within 500M traffic, and the like, and the service C only adopts a common traffic charging mode. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt the subsequent steps to further distinguish the traffic that needs to be charged for the content from the traffic that does not need to be charged for the content.
The traffic scheduler may send only a portion of the traffic in each session.
In one embodiment, the content charging apparatus may receive only the head packet of the traffic of the content charging user sent by the traffic scheduling apparatus, that is, the head packet in one session, by analyzing the head packet, the content charging apparatus may obtain the characteristics of the traffic in the session, and receiving only the head packet may save the performance overhead of the content charging apparatus.
In step S304, the content charging apparatus obtains traffic characteristic information of traffic of the content charging user.
The traffic feature information may be, for example, IP address information such as five-tuple information of the traffic, feature word information such as a source IP address and port number, a destination IP address and port number, a transport layer protocol, a URL (Uniform Resource Locator), an application layer protocol type, and the like.
Step S306, the content charging device detects whether the flow of the content charging user needs to charge the content according to the flow characteristic information.
The content charging apparatus may match, for example, a feature of a preset traffic for which content charging is required with traffic feature information obtained from the traffic. If the matching is successful, the flow is the flow needing to be charged by the content.
In step S308, the content charging apparatus sends the traffic characteristic information and the detection result indicating whether the traffic of the content charging user needs to perform content charging to the controller.
Step S310, the controller generates a content flow forwarding flow table according to the flow characteristic information and the detection result, and a matching domain of the content flow forwarding flow table comprises the content characteristic information and a content flow forwarding purpose.
The content feature information is a part of the traffic feature information, and may be address information such as an IP quintuple of the traffic. Because the information such as the feature words in the traffic feature information is obtained by analyzing and processing by the content charging device, and the traffic forwarding device that receives the content traffic forwarding flow table only has the basic information such as the address information of the traffic, the flow table only needs to include the content feature information that can be recognized by the traffic forwarding device.
The content flow forwarding flow table is used for indicating that the flow needing content charging is forwarded to the content charging device, and the flow needing no content charging is directly forwarded to the internet or to the user.
Therefore, in the content traffic transfer flow table, the transfer destination corresponding to the content feature information of the traffic requiring the content charging is the content charging device, and the transfer destination corresponding to the content feature information of the traffic not requiring the content charging is the internet or the user.
In step S312, the controller sends the content traffic forwarding flow table to the traffic scheduling device.
The traffic scheduling device is a device that forwards traffic according to a flow table issued by the controller, and may be, for example, a PSDN, a PGW, or other devices.
Step S314, the traffic scheduling device determines whether the traffic of the content charging user is the traffic that needs to be charged according to the content feature information in the content traffic forwarding flow table.
Step S316, the traffic scheduling device sends the traffic that needs to be charged for the content to the content charging device corresponding to the content traffic forwarding destination.
The flow scheduling device forwards the flow of the content charging user according to the content flow forwarding flow table, forwards the flow needing content charging to the content charging device, and directly forwards the flow without content charging to the Internet or to the user.
The traffic scheduling device mirrors traffic needing content charging and sends the mirrored traffic to the content charging device, and then the mirrored traffic is sent to the internet or a user to ensure the integrity of information.
In step S318, the content charging apparatus charges the content for the received traffic.
The invention adopts the content charging device to detect whether the flow of the user needs to charge the content according to the flow characteristic information, and sends the flow characteristic information and the detection result to the controller, and the controller generates the flow table according to the flow characteristic information and the detection result and sends the flow table to the flow scheduling device to indicate the flow scheduling device to forward the flow needing to charge the content to the content charging device to charge the content, so that the flow scheduling device can send all the flow needing to charge the content to the content charging device, thereby improving the accuracy of the content charging.
The controller in the content charging method of the invention can instruct the flow forwarding device to separate the content charging flow and the non-content charging flow, and can instruct the flow forwarding device to separate the flow of the content charging user and the flow of the non-content charging user. A content charging method according to another embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to fig. 4.
Fig. 4 is a flowchart of another embodiment of the content charging method of the present invention. As shown in fig. 4, the method of this embodiment includes:
in step S402, the traffic scheduler receives user traffic.
The user traffic may include uplink traffic and downlink traffic of the user.
In step S404, the traffic scheduling apparatus sends address information in the user traffic to the controller.
The address information may be, for example, an IP quintuple.
The source address and the destination address in the address information are used for identifying the user to which the traffic belongs, and other information is used for providing the controller to generate the flow table, so that the traffic can be accurately matched according to the information in the flow table.
Step S406, the controller judges whether the user is a content charging user according to the address information of the user flow.
The controller may store a correspondence between the address information and whether the user is a content charging user.
In one embodiment, the controller may determine whether the user is the content charging user according to a correspondence between address information of the user sent by the PCRF and whether the user is the content charging user.
The PCRF may, for example, obtain the IP address of the user after the user is online each time, search whether the user is a content charging user according to the user charging policy stored by the PCRF, and then associate the user IP address with the search result of whether the user is a content charging user, and send the result to the controller.
Step S408, the controller generates a user flow forwarding flow table, and a matching domain of the user flow forwarding flow table comprises address information of the content charging user and a user flow forwarding purpose.
The controller may generate a user traffic forwarding flow table for the content charging user, wherein the address information in the matching domain is the address information of the content charging user, and the forwarding destination is the content charging device.
In addition, the controller may also generate a user traffic forwarding flow table for the non-content charging user, where the address information in the matching domain is the address information of the non-content charging user, and the forwarding destination is a destination address in the internet or a user.
In step S410, the controller sends a user traffic forwarding flow table to the traffic scheduling device.
Step S412, the traffic scheduling device determines whether the user traffic is the traffic of the content charging user according to the address information in the user traffic forwarding flow table.
Step S414, the traffic scheduling device sends the traffic of the content charging user to the content charging device corresponding to the user traffic forwarding destination.
And the flow scheduling device forwards the user flow according to the user flow forwarding flow table and sends the flow of the content charging user to the content charging device.
In addition, the flow scheduling device can also transmit the flow of the non-content charging user to the internet or the user according to the user flow forwarding flow table.
Then, steps S304 to S318 may be performed.
The flow table is issued to the flow scheduling device by the controller, and the flow scheduling device is indicated to only send the flow of the content charging user to the content charging device, so that the total flow sent to the content charging device can be reduced, and the performance overhead of the content charging device is reduced.
