Abstract

Background
With the change of living environment and the improvement of life quality, the requirements on the range hood are also increasing. Most fans adopted by the household range hood are multi-wing centrifugal fans for air suction and air exhaust. Centrifugal fans generally consist of a volute, a motor, an impeller, and the like. The centrifugal fan works in the principle that the motor drives the impeller to rotate to apply work to the airflow and is discharged radially through the diffusion effect of the volute.
The centrifugal fan volute is designed by adopting an approximate logarithmic spiral line or an approximate Archimedes spiral line, the volute is gradually expanded, and the design theory of the multi-wing centrifugal fan is not complete enough, so that the fan system adopted by the prior range hood is small in wind pressure and wind quantity, large in noise and difficult to meet the requirements of people.

The design mode of the volute inevitably causes the flow non-uniformity in each flow passage in the axial direction of the impeller, and simultaneously, the air inlet quantity at the front part of the impeller of the multi-wing centrifugal fan is far smaller than that at the middle part and the rear part of the impeller, so that vortex exists at the front part of the volute and at the back of the current collector, the two factors cause the maximum turbulent kinetic energy at the lower left corner of the volute, the flow is most disordered, and the vortex of the impeller in the flow passage at the lower left corner of the impeller is the maximum, thereby becoming one of noise sources of the multi-wing centrifugal fan.

Referring to fig. 1 and 2, a centrifugal fan volute for a range hood includes a volute front cover 1, a volute rear cover 2, and a volute annular wall 3 connected between the volute front cover 1 and the volute rear cover 2. The volute is provided with an outlet a tuyere 4 and an air inlet 5. The volute front cover 1 is turned backwards, the volute rear cover 2 is turned forwards, and therefore the volute annular wall 3 is wrapped, and the volute front cover, the volute rear cover and the volute rear cover can be connected preferably through welding.
The volute front cover 1, the volute rear cover 2 and the volute annular wall 3 are turned outwards at the air outlet 4 and are reinforced by arranging outlet reinforcing angles 6, and the outlet reinforcing angles 6 are connected between the turned edges to form a flange for connecting the volute with an external pipeline, so that the structure is simple and the cost is low.
