The embodiment of the invention provides a management server, an image processing device, a terminal device and a management method of an image processing system. The management server extracts an image processing apparatus having a predetermined state from among the plurality of image processing apparatuses, so that the user can obtain an image processing apparatus having a desired state without performing troublesome operations for each image processing apparatus.
Various embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. These embodiments are merely exemplary and are not intended to limit embodiments of the present invention.
Example 1
An embodiment of the present invention provides a management server, and fig. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of the management server in embodiment 1 of the present invention. As shown in fig. 1, the management server 100 includes: a communication unit 101 and a storage unit 102.
The communication unit 101 is configured to transmit a confirmation request for confirming whether or not a predetermined state exists to the plurality of image processing apparatuses. The storage unit 102 is configured to store information on the image processing apparatuses in the predetermined state in response to the confirmation requests from the plurality of image processing apparatuses.
In the embodiment, the management server can specify the image processing apparatus having the predetermined state from the plurality of image processing apparatuses by transmitting the confirmation request of whether or not the predetermined state exists to the plurality of image processing apparatuses, so that the user can obtain the image processing apparatus having the desired state without performing troublesome operations for each image processing apparatus, thereby saving time and effort and improving the work efficiency of the user.
In an embodiment of the present invention, if the predetermined state is set by the user on the management server 100, the management server further includes:
an operation unit 104 that specifies a predetermined state relating to the image processing apparatus; and
and a display unit 103 that displays information on the image processing apparatus in the predetermined state.
In the present embodiment, a predetermined state relating to the image processing apparatus can be set by the user operating the operation unit 104, and thus the management server 100 can check each image processing apparatus in the predetermined state by the processing of the communication unit 101.
In the present embodiment, the operation unit 104 may specify a search range of the image processing apparatus in addition to the predetermined state, that is, the user may set the search range of the image processing apparatus by operating the operation unit 104, and the communication unit 101 may transmit the confirmation request only to the image processing apparatuses within the search range to search for the image processing apparatus in the predetermined state from the search range. In this embodiment, the plurality of image processing apparatuses are image processing apparatuses within the search range.
In another embodiment of the present embodiment, the predetermined state, or the predetermined state and the search range are set by a user on a terminal device and transmitted to the management server 100. The present embodiment does not limit the setting manner of the user, and the setting may be performed by the method described above.
In this embodiment, the communication unit 101 of the management server 100 may also receive a predetermined state regarding the image processing apparatuses transmitted from the terminal apparatus, or receive a predetermined state regarding the image processing apparatuses and a search range of the image processing apparatuses, the plurality of image processing apparatuses being image processing apparatuses within the search range. Thus, the management server 100 can check each image processing apparatus in the predetermined state by the processing of the communication unit 101. The communication unit 101 may also transmit information about the image processing apparatus in the predetermined state stored in the storage unit 102 to the terminal apparatus so that the terminal apparatus can display the information.
In the present embodiment, the prescribed state may be an attribute of the image processing apparatus and/or a kind of the image processing apparatus. The attributes of the image processing apparatus may include: whether to replace a consumable such as toner of a toner cartridge of an image processing apparatus, whether the consumable has reached a useful life, whether there is a residual amount of the consumable, and/or whether a component is defective, etc. The types of image processing apparatuses may include a color printer, a monochrome printer, and a multifunction-digital multifunction Peripheral (MFP). For example, if the user sets the predetermined state to "consumable part end of life", it means that the user desires to search for an image processing apparatus in which the consumable part end of life is reached. If the user sets the prescribed state to "color printer", this means that the user wishes to search for a color printer.
In this embodiment, the retrieval range may be a network range and/or an area range. The network range may be an IP address, but is not limited thereto, and the area range may be a region where the building is located, floor information of the building, and the like. For example, if the user sets a certain building as the search range, it means that the user wants to search for an image processing apparatus in the building.
In this embodiment, the communication unit 101 may transmit the confirmation request to the plurality of image processing apparatuses and receive responses from the plurality of image processing apparatuses. Accordingly, the storage unit 102 can store information on the image processing apparatus having the predetermined state, for example, whether the predetermined state (for example, YES) or NO state (for example, NO) is present, based on the response. The storage unit 102 may store information on the image processing apparatus having the predetermined state, for example, the state and name of the image processing apparatus, in association with each other.
In this embodiment, when there are a plurality of image processing apparatuses in the predetermined state, the display unit 103 may display information on the plurality of image processing apparatuses in the predetermined state in a list.
In this embodiment, as shown in fig. 1, the management server 100 may further include:
and a control unit 105 that extracts the state information related to the predetermined state from the list stored in the storage unit 102, and controls the communication unit 101 to transmit the state information related to the predetermined state to the plurality of image processing apparatuses as the confirmation request.
The list stored in the storage unit 102 may include: and a correspondence table between the states of the image processing apparatuses and the corresponding state information. Thereby, the control unit 105 can extract the state information corresponding to the predetermined state as the confirmation request. Optionally, the list stored in the storage unit 102 may further include: a correspondence table of the range and the corresponding image processing apparatus is searched. Thus, the control unit 105 can control to which image processing apparatuses the communication unit 101 transmits the confirmation request.
With the management server of the present embodiment, it is possible to extract an image processing apparatus in a predetermined state from among a plurality of image processing apparatuses, and a user can obtain an image processing apparatus in a desired state without performing a troublesome operation for each image processing apparatus.

The management server, the image processing apparatus, the terminal apparatus, and the management method according to the present embodiment will be described below with reference to specific embodiments.
Embodiment mode 1
Fig. 5 is a schematic diagram of an image processing system, which is configured by a color printer 501 as an image processing apparatus, a monochrome printer 502, a scanner 503, and an sPSV server 504 as a management server, and each of which is connected via a network, as shown in fig. 5.
In the present embodiment, a color printer 501 as an image processing apparatus includes, as shown in fig. 6:
a display portion 602 which can display information;
an operation unit 603 that can receive an operation by a user;
a storage unit 606 capable of storing the status of the color printer 501 itself;
an image forming unit 605 which can receive a print job from a Personal Computer (PC) according to an operation input from an operation unit and form an image on a print medium;
a communication unit 604 that can communicate with an external apparatus such as a Personal Computer (PC) or an sPSV server 504 as a management server via a network; and
and a control unit 601 capable of controlling the operations of the display unit 602, the operation unit 603, the storage unit 606, the image forming unit 605, and the communication unit 604.
In the present embodiment, the monochrome printer 502 and the scanner 503, which are image processing apparatuses, have the same configuration as the color printer 501. Unlike the image forming section 605 of the color printer 501, the image forming section in the scanner 503, which is an image processing apparatus, is different from the color printer 501 in forming scanned image data.
In the present embodiment, the sPSV server 504 as the management server has, as shown in fig. 7, the following configuration:
a display unit 703 capable of displaying information;
an operation unit 704 that can accept user operations;
a communication unit 702 that can communicate with external apparatuses such as a color printer 501, a monochrome printer 502, and a scanner 503 via a network;
a storage section 705 which can store the status of each of the color printer 501, the monochrome printer 502, and the scanner 503 as image processing apparatuses; and
and a control unit 701 capable of controlling the operations of the display unit 703, the operation unit 704, the communication unit 702, and the storage unit 705.
In the present embodiment, the color printer 501 updates the state of its own device and stores the updated state in the storage unit 606 every time the state of its own device changes. For example, this state indicates whether or not there is toner (not shown in the figure) as a consumable toner disposed in the image forming unit 605. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the state may be information on whether or not the image forming unit 605 has reached the end of its life. Other information, such as: information on whether the consumable should be replaced, whether the consumable has reached its end of life, whether there is a remaining amount of the consumable, whether there is a failure in a component constituting the color printer 501, and the like may be used as the status. Information indicating the type of printer, for example, color, monochrome, and Multi-function (MFP) may be used as the status.
In the present embodiment, the sPSV server 504 selects a search range (e.g., a network search range) and a predetermined state (e.g., an attribute of an image processing apparatus) by a user operating the operation unit 704 based on a menu interface displayed on the display unit 703, as shown in fig. 8, and searches for an image processing apparatus meeting the predetermined state in the search range by the user pressing the search execution unit 800. In the present embodiment, a case will be described in which the search is performed in a state in which the IP address "192.168.4.255" is selected as the search range and "Toner empty (EP Toner)" is selected as a predetermined state as shown in fig. 8.
In the present embodiment, the control unit 701 of the sPSV server 504 extracts MIB Information and PJL Information corresponding to the status (toner empty) selected by the user using the operation unit 704, from the correspondence table (table 1) of the attribute of the image processing apparatus and MIB (Management Information Base)/PJL (Printer Job Language) stored in the storage unit 705. Then, the image processing apparatus to which the IP address (192.168.4.255) selected by the user using the operation unit 704 is assigned is extracted from the correspondence table (table 2) of the search range and the corresponding image processing apparatus stored in the storage unit 705. Specifically, a color printer 501, a monochrome printer 502, and a facsimile 503 are extracted. Also, MIB information and PJL information are transmitted to the extracted image processing apparatuses, i.e., color printers 501, monochrome printers 502, and facsimile machines 503 as confirmation requests for the above-described states.
TABLE 1
Figure BDA0001116425060000091
TABLE 2
Figure BDA0001116425060000101
In the present embodiment, the color printer 501 receives the MIB information and the PJL information from the sPSV server 504 as a request for confirming the status, and transmits the status of its own device to the sPSV server 504 via the communication unit 604. Here, information indicating whether the toner is empty is transmitted, for example, a transmission of 0 indicates that the toner is empty, and a transmission of non-0 indicates that the toner is not empty. Thus, the sPSV server 504 can receive the status as the attribute of the image processing apparatus from the color printer 501 via the communication unit 702 as a response to the request for confirmation of the status.
Then, the control unit 701 of the sPSV server 504 may store, in the storage unit 705, identification information for identifying the color printer 501 as the transmission source in association with the received status. Here, when there are a plurality of image processing apparatuses having the same status, as in the case where the color printer 501 and the monochrome printer 502 have a status in which toner is empty, the sPSV server 504 creates a list (table 3) of image processing apparatuses corresponding to the status and stores the list in the storage unit 705. For example, table 3 may be a list in which the network range, the status (attribute information), and the image processing apparatus are associated with each other. Thus, the control unit 701 of the sPSV server 504 can control the display unit 703 to display the list (table 3) stored in the storage unit 705.
TABLE 3
Figure BDA0001116425060000102
In the present embodiment, the color printer 501 is described as an example of an image processing apparatus, but the present embodiment is not limited thereto, and the monochrome printer 502 and the scanner 503 may perform the same operation as the color printer 501.
In the present embodiment, an example of using an IP address indicating a network search range as a search range has been described, but the present invention is not limited thereto, and as shown in table 2, information including a floor of a building, a region where the building is located, and the like as a search range may be stored in advance in the storage unit 705 of the sPSV server 504 in association with an image processing device, and the floor and the region of the building where the image processing device is disposed may be selected as a search range instead of the IP address.
Embodiment mode 2
Fig. 9 is another schematic diagram of an image management system which is configured by a color printer 901, a monochrome printer 902, a scanner 903, and a Personal Computer (PC)904 as a terminal apparatus, and an sPSV server 905 as a management server, each connected via a network, as shown in fig. 9, as image processing apparatuses.
In the present embodiment, the configuration and operation of the color printer 901 as an image processing apparatus are the same as those of the color printer 501 of embodiment 1, and the description thereof is omitted. Similarly, the monochrome printer 902 and the scanner 903 may have the same configuration as the color printer 901, and the scanner 903 may have an image forming portion that forms scanned image data in a different manner from the color printer 901.
In the present embodiment, the configuration of the sPSV server 905 as the management server is the same as that of the sPSV server 504 in example 1, and the description thereof is omitted.
In the present embodiment, the configuration of the personal computer 904 as a terminal device includes, as shown in fig. 10:
a display portion 1002 which can display information;
an operation unit 1003 that can receive an operation by a user;
a communication unit 1004 that can communicate with external apparatuses such as a color printer 901, a monochrome printer 902, a scanner 903, and an sPSV server 905 as a management server via a network; and
and a control unit 1001 capable of controlling operations of the display unit 1002, the operation unit 1003, and the communication unit 1004.
In the present embodiment, unlike embodiment 1, the predetermined state or the predetermined state and the search range are set not by the user on the operation unit of the management server 905 but by the user on the personal computer 904 as a terminal device, and the setting result is transmitted to the management server 905 through the communication unit 1004 of the personal computer 904. After the management server 905 obtains the search result, that is, after the image processing apparatus having a predetermined state is searched, the search result is transmitted to the personal computer 904 via the communication unit 702, whereby the personal computer 904 can display the search result on the display unit 1002.
Only the differences from embodiment 1 will be described below.
In the present embodiment, as shown in fig. 8, after a search range (e.g., a network search range) and a predetermined state (e.g., an attribute of an image processing apparatus) are selected by a user operating the operation unit 1003 according to a menu interface displayed on the display unit 1002, and the user presses the search execution unit 800, an IP address indicating the network search range as the search range and the state as attribute information are transmitted to the sPSV server 905 via the communication unit 1004. For example, the search range is IP address 192.168.4.255 and the status is toner empty.
