Abstract
本发明提供的是一种基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach‑Zehnder干涉仪。包括光源、单模光纤、光纤锥、非对称双芯光纤、电热阵列、电源控制系统和光电检测装置,光源通过第一单模光纤和第一光纤锥与非对称双芯光纤的一端相连,非对称双芯光纤的另一端通过第二光纤锥和第二单模光纤与光电检测装置连接,所述的非对称双芯光纤包括中间芯和边芯,电热阵列位于非对称双芯光纤边芯一侧的包层上,电热阵列与电源控制系统相连接。本发明结构简单紧凑、系统的稳定性好、制作方便、成本低的、便于操作。本发明在光纤传感,光信息检测、外界环境监测等方面有较为广阔的应用前景。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及的是一种光纤传感器,具体地说是一种可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪。
背景技术
自20世纪70年代起,光纤作为传光介质或传感介质来感知外界信息的光纤传感技术蓬勃发展,光纤传感器作为一种光学传感工具,己经在人们日常生产生活中的许多领域都获得了广泛应用。传感器是指能够感知外部环境信息,并且将其转变为电信号或其他形式的信号进行传输、处理、存储和显示的检测装置,是辅助人类获取所需要的外界信息的一种必不可少的感知工具。传统的电学传感器存在着一些固有的缺陷,如传输损耗大、复用能力差和易受电磁干扰等问题,特别是在一些极端工作环境(如强电磁场、强福射场、高温高压环境等)下的应用受到极大限制。而光纤传感器则不存在这些缺点,因此在近几十年里取得了广泛的关注和极大的发展。基于相位调制的干涉型光纤传感器是一类非常典型并且被广泛采用的光纤传感技术方案。目前已经应用的高性能光纤传感器,如光纤陀螺、光纤水听器和光纤电流互感器等都是典型的干涉型光纤传感器,这些高性能的干涉型光纤传感器的出现促进了光纤传感技术和光纤传感产业的整体进步。
相位调制型光纤传感器是将外界环境参量的变化转换成光纤中传输光的相位变化来获得待测物理量的,一般是通过干涉测量的方式来获得待测物理量的,因此也称为干涉型光纤传感器。与其他类型的光纤传感器相比,干涉型光纤传感器最突出的优点是灵敏度高,其敏感部分都是由光纤本身构成,可按照需要设计成各种不同形式,易复用,具有很好的灵活性,具有很高的实用价值。
目前主要的相位调制器有压电陶瓷相位调制器和铌酸锂相位调制器。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种结构简单,集成度高,易于实现相位的调制性,制作方便的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪。
本发明的目的是这样实现的:
包括光源、单模光纤、光纤锥、非对称双芯光纤、电热阵列、电源控制系统和光电检测装置,光源通过第一单模光纤和第一光纤锥与非对称双芯光纤的一端相连,非对称双芯光纤的另一端通过第二光纤锥和第二单模光纤与光电检测装置连接,所述的非对称双芯光纤包括中间芯和边芯,电热阵列位于非对称双芯光纤边芯一侧的包层上,电热阵列与电源控制系统相连接。
本发明还可以包括:
1、电热阵列包括电阻膜和电极,电阻膜镀在边芯一侧的光纤包层上且直接与光纤包层接触,电极沉积在电阻膜上表面两侧且与电阻膜接触,对电阻膜施加电压产生电热效应,电阻膜通电后产生焦耳热引起电阻膜温度升高导致电阻膜与光纤间存在温差,使非对称双芯光纤内两纤芯温度改变,从而导致非对称双芯光纤的折射率发生变化,非对称双芯光纤内两纤芯的折射率变化不同产生光程差,产生相位变化,配合可编程的电压控制加热子阵列,沿光纤轴向使折射率发生变化,改变传输光程差,实现干涉仪相位的调制。
2、电阻膜通过掩模法及金属溅射镀膜方法沉积到非对称双芯光纤边芯一侧的包层上并与包层表面完全接触。
3、对于直径为125微米的光纤,电阻膜宽度为200微米,电极的尺寸为15微米。
4、所述的光纤锥是通过在单模光纤与非对称双芯光纤对芯焊接后在焊点处进行熔融拉锥制作的光纤锥;第一光纤锥把第一单模光纤中的光按照一定的分光比耦合入非对称双芯光纤的中间芯和边芯中,第二光纤锥将中间芯和边芯中传输的光同时耦合入第二单模光纤中。
5、通过电源控制系统的可编程控制单元控制电热阵列的通电加热子的数量及施加的电压来实现相位的可调制。
本发明的一种基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪中,电热阵列包括电阻膜和电极,电阻膜直接与光纤包层接触,电阻膜镀在边芯一侧的光纤包层上,电极沉积在电阻膜上表面两侧,与电阻膜接触。本发明通过对电阻膜施加电压来产生电热效应。电阻膜通电后会产生焦耳热,引起电阻膜温度的升高,导致电阻膜与光纤间存在温差,因此会发生导热现象,使光纤内两纤芯温度改变,从而导致光纤的折射率发生变化。由于电阻膜镀在边芯一侧的光纤包层上,所以发生热传导时,边芯跟中间芯的温度变化不同,因此光纤内两纤芯的折射率变化不同,产生光程差,由此产生相位变化。配合可编程的电压控制加热子阵列,沿光纤轴向使折射率发生变化,改变传输光程差,实现干涉仪相位的调制。
光纤热光调制器中的电阻膜镀在边芯一侧的包层上,膜厚均匀,电阻膜宽度应小于给定的尺寸,且电阻膜宽度越小,可调制的精度越高(例如,对于直径为125微米的光纤,在具有良好的散热环境下,电阻膜的宽度可选为200微米)。
电阻膜材料为金属、金属氧化物、合金及其他具有电阻性质的材料。
电阻膜是通过掩模法制备技术及金属溅射镀膜技术沉积到光纤边芯一侧的包层上并与包层表面完全接触。
电极均匀沉积在电阻膜上表面两侧,并且每个电极的宽度应小于给定的尺寸(例如,对于直径为125微米的光纤,电阻膜宽度选择为200微米,电极的尺寸可选为15微米)。

干涉仪的可调制性是通过可编程控制单元控制通电加热子的数量及施加的电压来实现相位的可调制性。
干涉仪通过导热硅胶及封装外壳来提供稳定的封装及散热环境。
本发明利用非对称双芯光纤中纤芯的折射率随温度变化这一特性,通过可控制编程完成光程差的改变,最终实现可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪的制作。
本发明是基于电热效应以及光纤干涉原理,利用非对称双芯光纤中纤芯折射率随温度变化这一特性,通过改变对电热膜施加的电压及通电电热膜的个数来获得相位调制,实现Mach-Zehnder干涉仪的可调制性。下面以使用宽谱光源进行测量为例,具体给出本发明的工作原理。

升温后的电阻膜与光纤存在温差,因此将会引起导热现象。温度将沿着光纤径向传播,导致边芯和中间芯的温度的改变,最终达到热平衡,通过有限差分法将模型离散化,得到一个个节点,根据能量守恒定律及傅里叶定律可知,对每一个节点有

其中,Ei为能量流入项,Eg为能量发生项,是节点内热源在单位时间内所释放出的热;Eo为能量输出项;Es为能量贮存变化项,是单位时间节点内物质内能的增量。运用迭代法可以计算出各个节点温度的数值解,最终可以得到稳态时的温度分布,也可通过仿真软件得到温度分布图像。
按照图4建立模型并进行仿真,其中,电阻膜和电极的材料均为金,在一侧的电极5-2-1上施加电压V,另一侧的电极5-2-2接地,达到稳态时的温度分布如图5所示,将得到的数据进行分析处理,可以得到两个纤芯的折射率分布,如图6a-图6b所示。
温度的变化将引起折射率的改变,从而实现对入射光相位的调制。光纤折射率n不仅是波长λ的函数,而且还随环境温度T及所处的应变状态ε而变化。因此,光纤折射率可一般地用一个状态函数n(λ,T,ε)来描述。
由于光纤材料、掺杂浓度、测量环境、测量方法等因素,很难得到十分准确的折射率温度系数函数,但经已有文献大量实验测量及论证,光纤的折射率温度系数大致在10-5/℃这个量级变化,并且在排除外界其他因素干扰的情况下,折射率随温度呈现出一种线性变化。
因此,在导热稳定时,光纤中间芯和边芯将会存在温度差,所以会导致折射率差Δn的存在,所以两纤芯之间的光程差变为ΔnL,其中L为通电电阻膜的长度。
两个纤芯的光最终耦合到单模光纤中发生干涉,由干涉定理有ΔnL=mλ,m为干涉级次。当改变施加电压,会导致折射率发生变化,调整通电热单元个数可以调制输出光谱干涉峰的位置。
本发明提供了一种结构简单紧凑、系统的稳定性好、制作方便、成本低的、便于操作的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪。本发明在光纤传感,光信息检测、外界环境监测等方面有较为广阔的应用前景。

具体实施方式
下面举例对本发明做更详细的描述。
图1给出了基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪实施例。包括光源1、第一单模光纤2-1、第二一单模光纤2-2、第一光纤锥3-1、第二光纤锥3-2、非对称双芯光纤4、电热阵列5、电压控制单元6和光电检测装置7。结合图3,非对称双芯光纤4,包括中间芯4-1、边芯4-2和包层。光源通过光纤锥与非对称双芯光纤的一端相连,另一端通过光纤锥与光电检测装置相连接,电热阵列在非对称光纤边芯一侧,通过金丝导线与外电极相连,外电极与电压控制系统相连接。结合图2,电热阵列包括电阻膜5-1和电极5-2,电阻膜直接与光纤包层接触,镀在边芯一侧的光纤包层上,电极沉积在电阻膜上表面两侧,与电阻膜接触,通过金丝导线与外电极相连。本发明通过对电阻膜施加电压来产生电热效应。电阻膜通电后会产生焦耳热,引起电阻膜温度的变化,导致电阻膜与光纤间存在温差,因此会发生导热现象,热量会沿光纤径向传递至光纤内部,使光纤内两纤芯温度升高,从而导致光纤的折射率发生变化。由于电阻膜镀在边芯一侧的光纤包层上,所以发生热传导时,边芯跟中间芯温度的变化不同,因此光纤内两纤芯的折射率改变不同,产生光程差,由此产生相位变化。配合可编程的加热子阵列,控制沿光纤轴向的折射率变化,进而改变传输光程,实现干涉仪相位的可调制性。
所述的电阻膜是通过溅射镀膜的方式镀在光纤边芯一侧的包层上,所用的材料应具有电阻特性。所述的电极沉积在电阻膜上表面的两侧,并通过到导线与电源相连接。所述的光纤锥是通过先将单模光纤与非对称双芯光纤对芯焊接,后在焊点处进行熔融拉锥制作光纤锥的方式得到的;所述光纤锥把单模光纤中的光按照一定的分光比耦合入非对称双芯光纤的中间芯和边芯中,或者是将中间芯和边芯中传输的光同时耦合入单模光纤中。所述的光源可以是宽谱光源,也可以为可调谐窄带光源;所述的光电检测装置为光谱分析仪。
为实现输出干涉谱的可调制性,申请人首先运用金属镀膜溅射的方法,通过掩膜板在非对称双芯光纤的边芯一侧的包层表面上特定位置镀上一层电阻薄膜。之后使用光刻技术对电阻膜外形进行修正。随后,将掩膜板替换,通过计算机控制,移动至预先设定的位置。同时替换镀膜材料,再次通过溅射镀膜的方法进行电极的沉积。然后将制作完成的Mach-Zehnder干涉仪取下,放入到给定的环境中进行退火处理(例如,对于使用镍铬合金作为电阻膜材料,在镀膜完成后,可将该干涉仪放入到450-500摄氏度的环境中做退火处理110-130分钟),电热阵列结构如图2所示,5-1是电阻膜,5-2是沉积的电极。
图1中所示的光纤锥3-1、3-2是通过在单模光纤与非对称双芯光纤焊接处熔融拉锥的方式得到的。图2是电热阵列示意图,其中5-1是电阻膜,5-2是电极。图6a-图6b为施加电压后在不同周期下两纤芯内的折射率变化,可以看出,折射率呈周期性变化。图7是封装示意图,封装外壳内涂覆导热硅胶将干涉仪包裹,以增加稳定的散热和封装环境,其中8-1和8-2是光纤尾套,10是金属外电极,与电源相连,9是封装外壳。
器件工作时,通过控制流入的电信号大小,可以控制焦耳热产生的大小,从而导致光纤内折射率发生变化,由于两纤芯间距较近,所产生的温度差较小,所以可以通过调整通电加热子个数实现光程差的改变,假定所镀电热膜的宽度为150微米,该加热子阵列由控制电源6控制。单个加热子状态可用序列特征0、1表示,其中0表示断电,1表示通电。通电后两纤芯间的温度差为5℃,序列‘…00111111111100…’表示通电电热膜长度为10×150微米=1500微米,如序列变成‘…000111111000…’则电热膜长度变为6×150微米=900微米,在同样的温差下,光程差发生改变,从而实现输出干涉谱的可调制性。
Claims (7)
1.一种基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,包括光源、单模光纤、光纤锥、非对称双芯光纤、电热阵列、电源控制系统和光电检测装置,其特征是:光源通过第一单模光纤和第一光纤锥与非对称双芯光纤的一端相连,非对称双芯光纤的另一端通过第二光纤锥和第二单模光纤与光电检测装置连接,所述的非对称双芯光纤包括中间芯和边芯,电热阵列位于非对称双芯光纤边芯一侧的包层上,电热阵列与电源控制系统相连接。
2.根据权利要求1所述的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,其特征是:电热阵列包括电阻膜和电极,电阻膜镀在边芯一侧的光纤包层上且直接与光纤包层接触,电极沉积在电阻膜上表面两侧且与电阻膜接触,对电阻膜施加电压产生电热效应,电阻膜通电后产生焦耳热引起电阻膜温度升高导致电阻膜与光纤间存在温差,使非对称双芯光纤内两纤芯温度改变,从而导致非对称双芯光纤的折射率发生变化,非对称双芯光纤内两纤芯的折射率变化不同产生光程差,产生相位变化,配合可编程的电压控制加热子阵列,沿光纤轴向使折射率发生变化,改变传输光程差,实现干涉仪相位的调制。
3.根据权利要求2所述的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,其特征是:电阻膜通过掩模法及金属溅射镀膜方法沉积到非对称双芯光纤边芯一侧的包层上并与包层表面完全接触。
4.根据权利要求3所述的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,其特征是:对于直径为125微米的光纤,电阻膜宽度为200微米,电极的尺寸为15微米。
5.根据权利要求1至4任何一项所述的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,其特征是:所述的光纤锥是通过在单模光纤与非对称双芯光纤对芯焊接后在焊点处进行熔融拉锥制作的光纤锥;第一光纤锥把第一单模光纤中的光按照一定的分光比耦合入非对称双芯光纤的中间芯和边芯中,第二光纤锥将中间芯和边芯中传输的光同时耦合入第二单模光纤中。
6.根据权利要求1至4任何一项所述的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,其特征是:通过电源控制系统的可编程控制单元控制电热阵列的通电加热子的数量及施加的电压来实现相位的可调制。
7.根据权利要求5所述的基于电热效应的可调制型纤维集成Mach-Zehnder干涉仪,其特征是:通过电源控制系统的可编程控制单元控制电热阵列的通电加热子的数量及施加的电压来实现相位的可调制。
