Detailed Description
In order to improve the uniformity of the brightness of the display device and improve the display effect of the display device, the embodiment of the invention provides a display panel and a display device. In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention more apparent, the present invention is further described in detail by referring to the following examples.
As shown in fig. 2 to 10, the display panel according to the embodiment of the invention includes a first display area portion 1 and a second display area portion 2, the first display area portion 1 includes a plurality of first pixel units 11 arranged in an array, and each first pixel unit 11 includes at least three first sub-pixels 111 with different colors and arranged adjacently; the second display area part 2 includes a plurality of second pixel units 22 arranged in an array, and the second pixel units 22 include second sub-pixels 222 of at least three different colors arranged adjacently; wherein: the first pixel unit 11 and the second pixel unit 22 are the minimum units of the first display area part 1 and the second display area part 2 capable of realizing white display, respectively, and the area of the first pixel unit 11 is smaller than that of the second pixel unit 22.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the area of the first pixel unit 11 of the first display area part 1 of the display panel is smaller than the area of the second pixel unit 22 of the second display area part 2, specifically, the first pixel unit 11 is the smallest unit that the first display area part 1 can realize white display, that is, in the first display area part 1, each first sub-pixel 111 in the first pixel unit 11 is required to be cooperatively displayed when displaying one pixel point; the second pixel unit 22 is the smallest unit that the second display area part 2 can realize white display, that is, in the second display area part 2, each second sub-pixel in the second pixel unit 22 needs to be cooperatively displayed when one pixel is displayed. When the first display area part 1 and the second display area part 2 light up a minimum unit, respectively, the light transmission area of the first pixel unit 11 is smaller than the light transmission area of the second pixel unit 22. Therefore, the brightness of the light source corresponding to the second display area 2 can be designed to be small, and when one minimum cell is lighted, the brightness of the second pixel cell 22 can be made not less than the brightness of the first pixel cell 11. The influence of the light source of the second display area part 2 on the brightness of the first display area part 1 is small, so that the uniformity of the screen brightness of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
Referring to fig. 2, the area of the first sub-pixel 111 is smaller than that of the second sub-pixel 222. In this embodiment, the density of the first sub-pixels 111 of the first display section 1 is greater than the density of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second display section 2, and the light transmittance of the second display section 2 is greater than the light transmittance of the first display section 1. In this embodiment, the area of the second pixel unit 22 is large, and the light transmittance of the second display area portion 2 is high, so that the luminance of the light-emitting source of the second display area portion 2 can be small, and the display function of the second display area portion 2 can be satisfied, and the display luminance thereof is close to that of the first display area portion 1. Since the luminance of the light emitting source of the second display area part 2 is low, the influence of the light emitting source of the second display area part 2 on the luminance of the first display area part 1 can be reduced, the uniformity of the screen luminance of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
Referring to fig. 2, the adjacent side of the first display area portion 1 and the second display area portion 2 of the display panel is a first side 3, and the side perpendicular to the first side 3 is a second side 4; along the extending direction of the first side 3, the pixel pitch of the second sub-pixel 222 is an integral multiple of the pixel pitch of the first sub-pixel 111; along the extension direction of the second side 4, the pixel pitch of the second sub-pixel 222 is equal to the pixel pitch of the first sub-pixel 111.
In this embodiment, the sub-pixels of the first display area section 1 and the second display area section 2 have the same size in the direction of the second side 4, and the pixel pitch of the second sub-pixel 222 is an integral multiple of the pixel pitch of the first sub-pixel 111 in the direction of the first side 3. When the display panel is manufactured, the sizes of the sub-pixels in the first display area part 1 and the second display area part 2 are the same in the direction of the second side edge 4, and only the size of the sub-pixel in the second display area part 2 needs to be changed in the direction of the third side edge, so that the process for manufacturing the sub-pixel of the display panel is simpler.
Referring to fig. 3, the number of the first sub-pixels 111 of the first pixel unit 11 is smaller than the number of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second pixel unit 22.
In this embodiment, compared to the first display area part 1, in the second display area part 2, if the number of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second pixel unit 22 is larger, the area of the second pixel unit 22 can be larger than that of the first pixel unit 11, and the luminance of the light source of the second display area part 2 can be reduced. The influence of the light emitting source of the second display area part 2 on the brightness of the first display area part 1 is small, so that the uniformity of the screen brightness of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
In a specific embodiment, with reference to fig. 3, the arrangement of the second sub-pixels 222 in the second pixel unit 22 is the same as the arrangement of the first sub-pixels 111 in the first pixel unit 11, and the sub-pixels of each color are arranged in sequence; referring to fig. 4, in the second pixel unit 22, the sub-pixels of the same color are disposed adjacently. The specific implementation manner can be designed according to product requirements, and only the number of the first sub-pixels 111 of the first pixel unit 11 needs to be smaller than the number of the second sub-pixels 222 of the second pixel unit 22.
Referring to fig. 5, the first pixel unit 11 includes a red first sub-pixel, a green first sub-pixel, and a blue first sub-pixel; the second pixel unit 22 includes a red second subpixel, a green second subpixel, a blue second subpixel, and a white second subpixel.
In this embodiment, in addition to the area of the second pixel unit 22 being larger than the area of the first pixel unit 11, the light transmittance of the white second sub-pixel is also better, so that the light transmittance of the second display area portion 2 can be increased, thereby reducing the luminance of the light-emitting source of the second display area portion 2. The influence of the light emitting source of the second display area part 2 on the brightness of the first display area part 1 is small, so that the uniformity of the screen brightness of the display device can be improved, and the display effect of the display device can be improved.
In practical applications, the pixel arrangement and driving method of the display panel can be roughly divided into conventional pixel technology Real and pixel rendering technology SPR. Specifically, in the embodiment of the present invention, the first display area portion may adopt the conventional pixel technology Real, that is, in the display stage, the first pixel units are clearly divided and are independent from each other, and the adjacent first pixel units do not need to share the first sub-pixel. The second display area section may adopt a pixel rendering technology SPR, that is, in the display stage, the second pixel units are not independently arranged, and the adjacent second pixel units need to share at least one second sub-pixel.

Each group of sub-pixels comprises sub-pixels of all colors, each group of sub-pixels work together as a pixel unit, and each time one pixel point is displayed, an independent pixel unit needs to be started. The plurality of sub-pixels are arranged by adopting a pixel rendering technology SPR, and the plurality of sub-pixels are independent from each other and cannot form pixel units which work independently. When the pixel unit works, the adjacent pixel units need to share part of sub-pixels, the adjacent sub-pixels are combined into the pixel unit according to requirements, and specifically, the pixel unit can be formed by the adjacent sub-pixels in the upper, lower, left and right directions to work cooperatively.

Referring to fig. 6, the plurality of second sub-pixels 222 arranged in an array in the second display area 2 are arranged in a pixel rendering manner. The adjacent second pixel units 22 in the second display area part 2 share at least one second sub-pixel 222. In a specific embodiment, the plurality of second sub-pixels 222 arranged in the array in the second display area 2 includes a plurality of second sub-pixel rows 6, the colors of the plurality of second sub-pixels 222 in each second sub-pixel row 6 are sequentially arranged in a cycle, two adjacent second sub-pixel rows 6 are staggered by one second sub-pixel 222, and two second sub-pixel rows 6 in each row are the same.
The pixel rendering technology SPR is used to control the second display area 2 to display, and since the adjacent second sub-pixels 222 can be combined as required, a larger number of pixel unit combination modes can be realized by using a limited number of sub-pixels, and the pixel density is improved in the display effect, so that the definition is better and the display effect is better. Specifically, the pixel rendering arrangement mode is a specific arrangement mode, and in practical application, the pixel rendering arrangement mode is not limited to the arrangement mode listed in the present application, and the specific pixel rendering arrangement mode can be designed according to requirements.
