Description

Paging method and device
Technical Field
The invention relates to a paging technology in the field of communication of the Internet of things, in particular to a paging method and a paging device.
Background
The Narrow-Band Internet of Things (NB-IOT) based on cellular is an emerging technology in the field of Internet of Things (IOT), and is also called Low power Wide Area Network (LPWA) because NB-IOT can support cellular data connection of Low power devices in a Wide Area Network.
In order to meet the requirements of large user quantity, low throughput and the like, data transmission in the NB-IOT system can be divided into two modes: a Control Plane Mode (Control Plane Mode) and a User Plane Mode (User Plane Mode). In the control plane mode, uplink and downlink Data are carried in a Non-Access Stratum Protocol Data Unit (NAS PDU) of a signaling for transmission, and after UE is accessed, only a Signaling Radio Bearer (SRB) is established, and a Data Radio Bearer (DRB) is not established; in the UP Mode, a conventional DRB user plane Mode is used for uplink and downlink data transmission, and after UE accesses, a DRB needs to be established in addition to an SRB.
In the NB-IOT system, the network may transmit a Paging (Paging) request message to a UE in an IDLE state (RRC _ IDLE) or a CONNECTED state (RRC _ CONNECTED). Specifically, the paging procedure may be triggered by a Mobility Management Entity (MME) in the core network, or may be triggered by the base station eNB. In the NB-IOT system, the main roles of paging are: 1) sending a call request to the UE in an RRC _ IDLE state; 2) and informing the UE that the system information is changed. Therefore, paging is very important in an NB-IOT system, is an important way for UE to acquire system information, and can ensure timely transmission of effective information between the UE and eNB and MME only on the basis of accurately acquiring the system information.
Considering the application scope of the NB-IOT system, the biggest characteristics of the user equipment (NB-UE) in the NB-IOT system are as follows: low power consumption and wide connection. The application scenarios of the NB-UE are different, and the coverage of the network to the NB-UE is divided into the following three levels: normal coverage, enhanced coverage, and extreme coverage. In the existing NB-IOT system, no matter whether normal coverage, enhanced coverage or extreme coverage is used, if the target UE does not initiate the random access procedure within a preset time period, the eNB sends a Paging message to the target UE according to the preset Paging power until the predetermined maximum Paging frequency is reached.
In the process of implementing the invention, the inventor finds that at least the following problems exist in the prior art:
in the existing NB-IOT system, regardless of normal coverage, enhanced coverage or extreme coverage, if the target UE does not initiate the random access procedure within a preset time period, the eNB generally sends the Paging message to the target UE multiple times according to a preset initial Paging power combined with a preset step value of power increase until the target UE initiates the random access procedure, or until a predetermined maximum number of Paging times is reached. Thus, repeatedly sending Paging messages for many times means that the NB-UE needs to continuously try to receive the Paging messages, which inevitably causes excessive power consumption of the NB-UE and cannot achieve the purpose of saving energy for the NB-UE.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to solve the existing technical problem, embodiments of the present invention provide a paging method and apparatus, which can not only wake up a target UE quickly and improve the success rate of paging the target UE, but also save the power consumption of the target UE, thereby achieving the purpose of saving energy for the target UE.

Therefore, in the technical solution of the embodiment of the present invention, when determining to send the Paging message to the target UE, the eNB first obtains the target coverage level corresponding to the target device identifier of the target UE according to the pre-stored correspondence between the device identifier and the coverage level, then the eNB determines the target Paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level according to the pre-stored correspondence between the coverage level and the Paging policy, and finally the eNB sends the Paging message to the target UE according to the target Paging policy. Detailed Description
In various embodiments of the present invention, fig. 1 is a schematic flow chart illustrating an implementation process of a paging method in an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 1, the paging method includes the following steps:
step 101, when determining to send a Paging message to the target UE, the eNB acquires a target coverage level corresponding to the target device identifier of the target UE according to a pre-stored correspondence between the device identifier and the coverage level.
In a specific embodiment of the present invention, the network side may send a Paging message to the UE in the RRC _ IDLE state or the RRC _ CONNECTED state. Specifically, the paging procedure may be triggered by the MME in the core network, or may be triggered by the eNB; when the Paging process is triggered by the MME, the MME firstly sends a Paging message to the eNB through an S1 port, and then the eNB initiates Paging to the target UE on a Uu port according to the received Paging message. In this step, when the eNB determines to transmit the Paging message to the target UE, the eNB may obtain the target coverage level corresponding to the target device identifier of the target UE according to a pre-stored correspondence between the device identifier and the coverage level, for example, when the eNB determines to transmit the Paging message to the UE1, the eNB may obtain the target coverage level corresponding to the UE1 according to a pre-stored correspondence between the device identifier and the coverage level.
In a specific embodiment of the present invention, the coverage level may include: conventional coverage, enhanced coverage, and extreme coverage. In the area covered by the wireless signal, the wireless signal coverage is good, various medium-speed data services can be initiated outdoors, and various low-speed data services can be initiated indoors; in the area with enhanced coverage, the wireless signal coverage is general, various low-speed data services can be initiated outdoors, voice services can be initiated indoors, but the call success rate is low; in an extremely covered area, voice services can be initiated outdoors, but the call success rate is low, and various services cannot be initiated indoors basically.
Preferably, in an embodiment of the present invention, before acquiring the target coverage level corresponding to the target device identifier of the target UE, the eNB may further include the following steps:
step a, the eNB acquires a target equipment identifier and a target RSRP value reported by the target UE.
In a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, mobility management includes: mobility management in RRC _ IDLE state and RRC _ CONNECTED state. Wherein the mobility management of the RRC _ IDLE state includes: cell selection and cell reselection; the mobility management of the RRC _ CONNECTED state includes: and (4) switching the cells. After the UE successfully resides in a cell, if connection with the current cell base station eNB is not initiated, the UE may start measurement of an RRC _ IDLE state to obtain signal qualities of the current cell and neighboring cells, and if the quality of a wireless signal of the current cell is poor and the quality of a wireless signal of a neighboring cell is good, the UE may reselect to the neighboring cell with good signal quality.
In a specific embodiment of the present invention, the target RSRP refers to a measurement value of reference signal received power of a current cell in which the target UE is located. In this step, after the target UE completes the measurement of the current cell, the target UE may report the target device identifier and the target RSRP value to the eNB, so that the eNB may obtain the target device identifier and the target RSRP value reported by the target UE.
And b, the eNB determines a target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value according to the corresponding relation between the predetermined RSRP range and the coverage level.
In a specific embodiment of the present invention, the predetermined RSRP range includes: a first range, a second range, and a third range, corresponding to: extreme coverage, enhanced coverage, and regular coverage. In the first range: a first RSRP value < RSRP ═ a second RSRP value; in the second range: a second RSRP value < RSRP ═ a third RSRP value; in the third range: third RSRP value < RSRP < ═ fourth RSRP value. Specifically, the correspondence between the predetermined RSRP range and the coverage level may be as shown in table 1 below:
RSRP Range RSRP(dB) Coverage level
First range First RSRP value<RSRP value<Second RSRP value Extreme coverage
Second range Second RSRP value<RSRP value<Third RSRP value Enhanced coverage
Third range Third RSRP value<RSRP value<Fourth RSRP value Conventional covering
TABLE 1
The first RSRP value, the second RSRP value, the third RSRP value, and the fourth RSRP value in table 1 may be configured in advance according to NB-IOT system requirements or traffic requirements, and the first RSRP value, the second RSRP value, the third RSRP value, and the fourth RSRP value may be configured in order from low to high.
Preferably, in an embodiment of the present invention, the predetermined RSRP range and the coverage level may be as shown in the following table 2:
RSRP Range RSRP(dB) Coverage level
First range =-105<RSRP value<=-95 Extreme coverage
Second range -95<RSRP value<=-85 Enhanced coverage
Third range -85<RSRP value<=-75 Conventional covering
TABLE 2
In this step, the eNB may determine a target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value according to a predetermined correspondence between the RSRP range and the coverage level. For example, when the eNB receives that the target RSRP value reported by the target UE is within the first range, it may be determined that the target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value is: extreme coverage; when the eNB receives that the target RSRP value reported by the target UE is within the second range, it may be determined that the target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value is: enhancing the coverage; when the eNB receives that the target RSRP value reported by the target UE is within the third range, it may be determined that the target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value is: and (5) conventional covering.
And step c, the eNB saves the corresponding relation between the target equipment identification and the target coverage level.
In this step, the eNB may store the correspondence between the target device identifier and the target coverage level when determining the target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value. For example, assuming that the eNB determines that the coverage level corresponding to the UE1 is normal coverage, in this step, the eNB may save the correspondence between the UE1 and the normal coverage.
Preferably, in the embodiment of the present invention, the target UE may also maintain a predetermined correspondence between the RSRP range and the coverage level. Specifically, the predetermined RSRP range includes: a first range, a second range, and a third range, corresponding to: extreme coverage, enhanced coverage, and regular coverage. In the first range: a first RSRP value < RSRP ═ a second RSRP value; in the second range: a second RSRP value < RSRP ═ a third RSRP value; in the third range: third RSRP value < RSRP < ═ fourth RSRP value. Preferably, after the target UE measures the RSRP value of the current cell, the target UE may determine a target coverage level corresponding to the target RSRP value according to a predetermined correspondence between an RSRP range and a coverage level, and then the target UE reports the target device identifier and the target coverage level to the eNB, so that the eNB may obtain the target device identifier and the target coverage level reported by the target UE, and thus the eNB may store the correspondence between the target device identifier and the target coverage level.
102, the eNB determines a target paging strategy corresponding to the target coverage level according to the corresponding relation between the pre-stored coverage level and the paging strategy.
In a specific embodiment of the present invention, the eNB may further store a correspondence between the coverage level and the paging policy in advance. In this step, the eNB may determine a target paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level according to a correspondence between the pre-stored coverage level and the paging policy. Specifically, the correspondence between the coverage level pre-stored by the eNB and the paging policy may be as shown in the following table 3:
Figure BDA0001047667460000081
TABLE 3
In the specific embodiment of the present invention, three paging strategies may be specified in advance, which are respectively: paging strategy 1, paging strategy 2 and paging strategy 3. Specifically, when the target coverage level is normal coverage, the eNB may determine the target paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level as: paging strategy 1; when the target coverage level is enhanced coverage, the eNB may determine that the target paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level is: paging strategy 2; when the target coverage level is extreme coverage, the eNB may determine that the target paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level is: paging strategy 3. In the Paging policy 1, the eNB may first send a Paging message to the target UE according to a preset initial transmission power, and before the target UE initiates the random access procedure, the eNB may repeatedly perform the following operations until the target UE initiates the random access procedure, or until a predetermined first Paging number is reached: and increasing the initial transmitting power by a preset step value, calculating the target transmitting power for transmitting the Paging message to the target UE, and transmitting the Paging message to the target UE by the eNB according to the target transmitting power. In Paging strategy 2, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to a preset maximum transmission power until the target UE initiates a random access procedure, or until a predetermined second Paging number is reached. In Paging policy 3, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to a preset maximum transmission power until the target UE initiates a random access procedure, or until a predetermined third Paging number is reached.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the first paging frequency, the second paging frequency, and the third paging frequency may be configured in advance by the eNB, where the third paging frequency may be the same as the second paging frequency, or may be different from the second paging frequency. Preferably, in the embodiment of the present invention, the third paging number may be set to be the same as the second paging number.
Preferably, in the embodiment of the present invention, the initial transmission power is smaller than the maximum transmission power; the first paging number is less than the second paging number.
And step 103, the eNB sends a Paging message to the target UE according to the target Paging strategy.
In a specific embodiment of the present invention, after the eNB determines the target Paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to the target Paging policy. Specifically, when the target coverage level is normal coverage, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to Paging policy 1; when the target coverage level is enhanced coverage, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to the Paging policy 2; when the target coverage level is extreme coverage, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to Paging policy 3. Preferably, the eNB may send the Paging message to the target UE according to the Paging policy shown in table 4 below:
Figure BDA0001047667460000091
Figure BDA0001047667460000101
TABLE 4
Specifically, when the target coverage level is normal coverage, the eNB may first send a Paging message to the target UE according to a preset initial transmission power, and before the target UE initiates random access, the eNB may use the initial transmission power as a current transmission power, and repeatedly perform the following operations: increasing the initial transmitting power by a preset step value, calculating the target transmitting power for transmitting the Paging message to the target UE, and transmitting the Paging message to the target UE by the eNB according to the target transmitting power; and taking the target transmission power as the current transmission power, and returning to execute the above operations until the target UE initiates a random access process or until a predetermined first paging frequency is reached. Preferably, in paging policy 1, the preset step value may be 2dB, and the maximum number of paging times may be: 4.
when the target coverage level is enhanced coverage, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE according to a preset maximum transmission power until the target UE initiates a random access procedure, or until a predetermined second Paging number is reached. Preferably, in paging policy 2, the second number of pages may be: 8.
when the target coverage level is extreme coverage, the eNB may send a Paging message to the target UE at the maximum transmit power until the target UE initiates a random access procedure, or until a predetermined third Paging number is reached. Preferably, in the paging policy 3, the third paging number may also be: 8.
in the Paging method provided by the embodiment of the present invention, the eNB may determine the target Paging policy corresponding to the target coverage level according to the pre-stored correspondence between the coverage level and the Paging policy, and then the eNB sends the Paging message to the target UE according to the target Paging policy. Namely: in the technical scheme of the invention, the eNB can adopt different Paging strategies to send the Paging message to the target UE aiming at different coverage levels, but the eNB does not consider the coverage level of the target UE like in the prior art, and if the target UE does not initiate a random access process within a preset time period, the eNB can send the Paging message to the target UE for multiple times according to a preset initial Paging power and a preset step value increased by power until the target UE initiates the random access process or until the preset maximum Paging frequency is reached. Obviously, compared with the prior art, the paging method provided by the embodiment of the invention not only can rapidly awaken the target UE and improve the success rate of paging the target UE, but also can save the electric energy consumption of the target UE, thereby achieving the purpose of saving energy for the target UE; moreover, the method is simple and convenient to realize, convenient to popularize and wide in application range.
