The method comprises the following steps: acquiring characteristic information of a file to be printed; selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information; wherein the feature information includes: at least one of content, storage space, resolution, and extension. In the related art, when a user prints through a printer and currently needs to print a document, a certain amount of ordinary a4 book paper needs to be placed in a paper box; when a photo needs to be printed, a certain amount of coated paper needs to be placed in the paper box; therefore, if the printed content is different, the required paper may also be different, so that the user needs to change the paper to select the most suitable paper, but when the printed content is changed, the paper needs to be replaced manually, and the operation is troublesome and not automatic enough.
Therefore, the problems to be solved by the present embodiment are: how to realize the automation of printing the selected paper.

The characteristic information may be a characteristic of specific contents of the print file, for example, resolution, capacity, and the like. The file to be printed may be received by the printer from a connected computer or terminal, or may be read from a usb disk inserted into the printer, which is not limited in this embodiment.

The kind of paper may include plain paper, coated paper, specialty paper, photo paper, and the like. In the embodiment, text content or content mainly comprising text is stored in the text document, and graphic content is stored in the graphic document, so that the text document is more portable and saves cost by printing with plain paper, and the graphic printed by the graphic document with coated paper is clearer and more attractive, so that the variety of the printed paper is fully utilized.
In one embodiment, as shown in fig. 11, the apparatus further comprises:
a determining module 403, configured to determine, according to the feature information, a printing precision for printing the file to be printed.
In this embodiment, the characteristic information may automatically change the printing precision, improving the user experience.
According to a fourth aspect of the embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a sheet selecting device including:
a processor;
a memory for storing processor-executable instructions;
wherein the processor is configured to:
acquiring characteristic information of a file to be printed;
selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information;
wherein the feature information includes: at least one of content, storage space, resolution, and extension.
The device further comprises:
for the content, the selecting a kind to be printed from kinds of candidate paper according to the feature information includes:
identifying the content by an image processing technique;
when the content is identified as an image, selecting photo paper as the type to be printed;
when the content is recognized to comprise the text, determining the proportion of the text in the content;
when the text proportion is larger than or equal to a preset proportion, selecting plain paper as the type to be printed;
and when the text proportion is smaller than the preset proportion, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed.
For the resolution, the selecting a type to be printed from the types of the candidate paper according to the feature information includes:
when the resolution is larger than or equal to a first preset rate, selecting special paper as the type to be printed;
when the resolution is greater than or equal to a second preset rate and smaller than the first preset rate, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed;
and when the resolution is smaller than the second preset rate, selecting the common paper as the type to be printed.
For the storage space, the selecting a kind to be printed from kinds of alternative paper according to the feature information includes:
when the storage space is larger than or equal to the first preset capacity, selecting special paper as the type to be printed;
when the storage space is larger than or equal to a second preset capacity and smaller than the first preset capacity, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed;
and when the storage space is smaller than the second preset capacity, selecting plain paper as the type to be printed.
For the extension, the selecting a category to be printed from categories of candidate paper according to the feature information includes:
when the extension name belongs to one of a preset image extension name set, selecting photo paper as the type to be printed;
when the extension belongs to one of a set of preset text extensions, selecting plain paper as the kind to be printed.
After the characteristic information of the file to be printed is obtained, the method further comprises the following steps:
and determining the printing precision of the file to be printed according to the characteristic information.
With regard to the apparatus in the above-described embodiment, the specific manner in which each module performs the operation has been described in detail in the embodiment related to the method, and will not be elaborated here.
FIG. 12 is a block diagram illustrating a paper selection device according to one exemplary embodiment. For example, the apparatus 1900 may be provided as a printer. The device 1900 includes a processing component 1922 further including one or more processors and memory resources, represented by memory 1932, for storing instructions, e.g., applications, executable by the processing component 1922. The application programs stored in memory 1932 may include one or more modules that each correspond to a set of instructions. Further, the processing component 1922 is configured to execute instructions to perform the above-described method.
The device 1900 may also include a power component 1926 configured to perform power management of the device 1900, a wired or wireless network interface 1950 configured to connect the device 1900 to a network, and an input/output (I/O) interface 1958. The device 1900 may operate based on an operating system stored in memory 1932, such as Windows Server, Mac OS XTM, UnixTM, LinuxTM, FreeBSDTM, or the like.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium in which instructions, when executed by a processor of a device 1900, enable the device 1900 to perform the above-described sheet selection method, the method comprising:
acquiring characteristic information of a file to be printed;
selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information;
wherein the feature information includes: at least one of content, storage space, resolution, and extension.
For the content, the selecting a kind to be printed from kinds of candidate paper according to the feature information includes:
identifying the content by an image processing technique;
when the content is identified as an image, selecting photo paper as the type to be printed;
when the content is recognized to comprise the text, determining the proportion of the text in the content;
when the text proportion is larger than or equal to a preset proportion, selecting plain paper as the type to be printed;
and when the text proportion is smaller than the preset proportion, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed.
For the resolution, the selecting a type to be printed from the types of the candidate paper according to the feature information includes:
when the resolution is larger than or equal to a first preset rate, selecting special paper as the type to be printed;
when the resolution is greater than or equal to a second preset rate and smaller than the first preset rate, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed;
and when the resolution is smaller than the second preset rate, selecting the common paper as the type to be printed.
For the storage space, the selecting a kind to be printed from kinds of alternative paper according to the feature information includes:
when the storage space is larger than or equal to the first preset capacity, selecting special paper as the type to be printed;
when the storage space is larger than or equal to a second preset capacity and smaller than the first preset capacity, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed;
and when the storage space is smaller than the second preset capacity, selecting plain paper as the type to be printed.
For the extension, the selecting a category to be printed from categories of candidate paper according to the feature information includes:
when the extension name belongs to one of a preset image extension name set, selecting photo paper as the type to be printed;
when the extension belongs to one of a set of preset text extensions, selecting plain paper as the kind to be printed.
After the characteristic information of the file to be printed is obtained, the method further comprises the following steps:
and determining the printing precision of the file to be printed according to the characteristic information.

Claims (15)

1. A method of selecting a sheet of paper, comprising:
acquiring characteristic information of a file to be printed;
selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information;
wherein the feature information includes: at least one of content, storage space, resolution, and extension;
the selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information comprises the following steps: when at least two kinds of characteristic information are acquired simultaneously and at least two kinds of paper are determined, selecting the kind with high priority as the kind to be printed; the priority of the kind of paper is arranged from high to low according to the price of the paper.
2. The method according to claim 1, wherein for the content, the selecting a category to be printed from categories of alternative paper according to the feature information includes:
identifying the content by an image processing technique;
when the content is identified as an image, selecting photo paper as the type to be printed;
when the content is recognized to comprise the text, determining the proportion of the text in the content;
when the text proportion is larger than or equal to a preset proportion, selecting plain paper as the type to be printed;
and when the text proportion is smaller than the preset proportion, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed.
3. The method according to claim 1, wherein for the resolution, the selecting a category to be printed from categories of alternative paper according to the feature information comprises:
when the resolution is larger than or equal to a first preset rate, selecting special paper as the type to be printed;
when the resolution is greater than or equal to a second preset rate and smaller than the first preset rate, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed;
and when the resolution is smaller than the second preset rate, selecting the common paper as the type to be printed.
4. The method according to claim 1, wherein for the storage space, the selecting a kind to be printed from kinds of alternative paper according to the feature information includes:
when the storage space is larger than or equal to a first preset capacity, selecting special paper as the type to be printed;
when the storage space is larger than or equal to a second preset capacity and smaller than the first preset capacity, selecting coated paper as the type to be printed;
and when the storage space is smaller than the second preset capacity, selecting plain paper as the type to be printed.
5. The method according to claim 1, wherein for the extension, the selecting a category to be printed from categories of candidate sheets according to the feature information includes:
when the extension name belongs to one of a preset image extension name set, selecting photo paper as the type to be printed;
when the extension belongs to one of a set of preset text extensions, selecting plain paper as the kind to be printed.
6. The method according to claim 1, wherein after the obtaining of the characteristic information of the document to be printed, the method further comprises:
and determining the printing precision of the file to be printed according to the characteristic information.
7. A paper selection device, comprising:
the acquisition module is used for acquiring the characteristic information of the file to be printed;
the selection module is used for selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information;
wherein the feature information includes: at least one of content, storage space, resolution, and extension;
the selection module selects the type with high priority as the type to be printed when at least two kinds of characteristic information are acquired simultaneously and at least two kinds of paper are determined; the priority of the kind of paper is arranged from high to low according to the price of the paper.
8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the selection module comprises:
an identification submodule for identifying the content by an image processing technique;
a first selection sub-module for selecting photo paper as the kind to be printed when the content is identified as an image;
the determining submodule is used for determining the text proportion of the text in the content when the content is identified to comprise the text;
the second selection submodule is used for selecting the common paper as the type to be printed when the text proportion is larger than or equal to the preset proportion;
and the third selection submodule is used for selecting coated paper as the type to be printed when the text proportion is smaller than the preset proportion.
9. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the selection module comprises:
the fourth selection submodule is used for selecting the special paper as the type to be printed when the resolution is larger than or equal to a first preset rate;
the fifth selection submodule is used for selecting coated paper as the type to be printed when the resolution is greater than or equal to a second preset rate and smaller than the first preset rate;
and the sixth selection submodule is used for selecting the common paper as the type to be printed when the resolution is smaller than the second preset rate.
10. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the selection module comprises:
the seventh selection submodule is used for selecting the special paper as the type to be printed when the storage space is larger than or equal to the first preset capacity;
the eighth selection submodule is used for selecting coated paper as the type to be printed when the storage space is larger than or equal to a second preset capacity and smaller than the first preset capacity;
and the ninth selection submodule is used for selecting the common paper as the type to be printed when the storage space is smaller than the second preset capacity.
11. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the selection module comprises:
a tenth selecting sub-module for selecting photo paper as the kind to be printed when the extension belongs to one of a preset image extension set;
an eleventh selection sub-module for selecting plain paper as the kind to be printed when the extension belongs to one of a preset text extension set.
12. The apparatus of claim 7, further comprising:
and the determining module is used for determining the printing precision of the file to be printed according to the characteristic information.
13. A paper selection device, comprising:
a processor;
a memory for storing processor-executable instructions;
wherein the processor is configured to:
acquiring characteristic information of a file to be printed;
selecting the type to be printed from the types of the alternative paper according to the characteristic information;
wherein the feature information includes: at least one of content, storage space, resolution, and extension;
the processor is further configured to: when at least two kinds of characteristic information are acquired simultaneously and at least two kinds of paper are determined, selecting the kind with high priority as the kind to be printed; the priority of the kind of paper is arranged from high to low according to the price of the paper.
14. The apparatus of claim 13, further comprising:
the paper placing box is at least divided into at least two layers, and each layer is used for placing one type of paper; the correspondence between the kind and the layer of the sheet cassette is set in advance;
and the printing device is used for printing, and the printing device takes different types of paper from the paper placing box.
15. A computer-readable storage medium, on which a computer program is stored which, when being executed by a processor, carries out the steps of the method according to any one of claims 1 to 6.
